2nd HDD on the Qosmio F40

I just purchased a Qosmio F40-ST4101, and by default, I choose an option of a hard drive, because I do not have a help I want to install. Can someone show me where is it fits in or it is not possible to add a hard drive for only if ordered with the company?

Thanks in advance...

Hello

I m not 100% sure, but I think the HARD drive slots are placed at the bottom of the unit.
The first HARD drive Bay must be placed at the bottom near the edge of the front face.
The second span could be placed near the battery

I found the specs of the laptop here:

  • Windows XP Home edition does not recognize new HDD on the Qosmio G20

I have a Qosmio G20/390LS bought a year ago, when I worked at the Japan, I tried to upgrade the hard drive with a new HD 100 GB Hitachi SATA but I faced a problem that XP does not recognize the HD.
For your reference, the Bios sees the new HD, when I install the XP operating system I load the driver downloaded from the Toshiba Web site but no way RAID with F6... XP does not recognize the HD.

Do you have any idea how to fix?
    Thank you

    Hello

Computers portable Japanese are unknown to me, but if this laptop comes with two hard drives and RAID option do not forget the good option is set in the BIOS. Without the right BIOS setting you will not be able to install the OS.

On Qosmio G30, I was able to install Vista when for two HDD HARD drive settings were 0-RAID-1. Check it please and let us know.

  • How can I install the 2nd HDD on my Satellite P200 - 14H

    Hello
I want to know, how can I install the 2nd hard disk on my Satellite P200 - 14H and what I have to buy, because when I open the 2nd hdd slot, so I don't see anything about what I could add the 2nd disc

    Thanks, Filip

    Hello

Maybe you don't see the second HARD drive connectors because the phone does not support the 2nd HARD drive?
Not all laptops even if the 2nd HARD drive Bay is available, support two hard drives.
Laptops come with different hardware and different motherboards, but with the same coverage
So the bays for HARD drives are available, but the motherboard does not support the 2nd HARD drive interface.

    Welcome them

  • Hard drive SSD 80 GB in the Qosmio G50-10 t

    Hello

Is this hard drive Intel SSD X 25-M 80 GB will work ok as a main system in the Qosmio G50-10 t.

    Hello

The Qosmio G50 supports SATA 2.5 HDD.
    The Intel SSD X 25 - M 80 GB is a 2.5 SSD with the SATA interface.

I think that the SSD should work in your G50 and the BIOS should recognize it because it supports the SATA interface as well.

PS: there is also a disc SSD Intel X 18 - M Mainstream SATA, but it s 1.8 just and not 2.5

  • Qosmio F10 - the Qosmio player Partition Recovery

I have a Qosmio F10. He had the motherboard factory upgrade, RAM max, and a new 160 GB Samsung HARD drive mounted. So far so good. I've recently updated to Win7 and it was OK, once the drivers have been found, but I couldn't reinstall the Qosmio Player because apparently he found too little space.

Hotline do not have much help, but I now realize that the QP is a Linux package in its own hidden partition. I've cleaned the disc, which makes an image of the system W7 on a USB HDD. Then I managed on the basis of reinstall the QP and update her, but the image will not recover in the form of images of Windows, I find now, will only recover a disk the same as the original or more.

It is not of course because of the score of the PS. So how is it removed please? I tried everything so far.
Just to make things to complete the product Toshiba Recovery DVD sent with the repaired machine is 70% complete and abandoned.

    Stephen

Qosmioplayer is small application based on Linux, and according to the instructions of Toshiba s, must be installed as a first step, before you install the operating system. I m not 100% sure, but about 200 MB of free space on the HARD drive is required for installation of Qosmioplayer.
It works perfectly when you use original Qosmioplayer and recovery disks but I put t know how it will work when you try to use your own image.

I hope that someone else has the same model of laptop and solution for this.
If you will be able to manage this please send a feedback.

  • I can add a 2nd HDD on my Satellite A300 - 02c?

    Hi all

I wonder if it is possible to add a 2nd HDD in my A300 - 02c?
There is a HDD 2 slot, but no sata connector on the card (see the link to the image).

    http://www.NotebookReview.com/picture.asp?f=36752

I wonder if it is possible to add the connector (by myself or by the customer service).
If anyone knows if it is possible and where can I buy the sata connector... Please leave a comment :)

    Adrien.

I think that there is nothing you can do about it.
Satellite A300 comes with several different hardware configurations and several different mothers. Really, I don't think that you can add it in addition.

FYI exact nearest maintainer contact authorized Toshiba and ask for help.

If anyone has any experience with this stuff then the Toshiba service technicians.

  • A few Questions on the Qosmio G35-AV650 series

I have some questions that I would ask to my Qosmio G35-AV650.

    1: I've updated the BIOS to v1.4 (2005), to v3.3 (2007), to install Vista.
Vista does not work so I removed it - I guess that I need to update the drivers again.
In any case, I got my PC to normal - delete the partition allocated to Vista and reset the boot record.
However, there was something that happened to my pc. The model has been replaced by "Laptop".

My DVD DO NOT work for recovery. It says 'BAD COMPUTER'. IM wondering how it could have happened.
If anyone could shed some light on what might have changed the name of the template, do so.
The only thing I can think is the update of the BIOS. Any ideas?

2: my HARD drive crashed at 1 point of time before. In order to
avoid any loss of data, I have intertwined around hard drives and reinstalled XP on the secondary HARD drive.
However, this is somewhat troblesome. First of all, the Qosmio player no longer, because it is
the disk of HARD original 1. Secondly, if I did a reinstall on 1 HARD drive, it would remove the Qosmio Player?

Third, if I put the hard drives back to the initial placement and boot from HDD 2, HDD 1 IS NOT recognized by the PC.

It seems I have TO boot from HDD 1 for 2 HDD is picked up by windows.
Is there a way to test PC to start from 1 HARD disk then boot from the disk HARD 2, eventually recognize two hard disks?
Or is there a way to manually "load" both hard drives?

3: what would you recommend to do if Windows won't recognize the Bluetooth device. I know that his work.
I installed a Virtual Machine and installed the bluetooth in it. It is during the driver installation process
that the installation crashes with devices NOT picked up by the operating system. Any ideas? I can't use the recovery DVD trying to install
    the original drivers [see #1].

How can 4: if I'm using the standard Windows Xp CD, I load the Toshiba RAID drivers? The only thing I see
includes a floppy drive, which does not have the kaptop.

I know this is a long post :)
Thank you for your responses and reaing.

Man, these are some deep questions. Your laptop looks new, under warranty? If so, go back to Toshiba and make them understand the 'thing'. These things are problematic I know... it is a little hidden from any sale side isn't it.

If you want to put in Vista, just follow all the instructions in the Forum of Francisco - you can tell that's the one with the most comments. If you follow the messages from scratch, you will be able to get your business laptop.

Francisco is our leader of the sect. He's awesome. He saved us where Toshiba does not have. Welcome to the fraternity.

  • Qosmio F40 - random stops all in game.

My Qosmio F40 has been crashing when I have the game. In 20 to 30 minutes the laptop turns quickly and I play World of Warcraft or Warcraft3.
He let me be able to return for about 5-10 minutes, and when he does it brings me to the black and white screen saying that it was not shut down properly.

I had no other problem with Qosmio F40, I was very happy with it.
This started happening about 2 weeks ago and has been constant during these two weeks. I ran a "Video Card Stability Test", and he also my laptop down. I checked for new drivers, and there is none currently available. My video card is a Nvidia GeForce 8600 M GT came stock with the laptop

I am running Windows Vista (32 bit). I don't think it's getting overheated because a few months ago I could seriously game on it for about 8-10 hours straight without any problems.

Any suggestion, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you
    Daniel

    I completely agree with Maurice.
Is that a non-Toshiba graphic driver doesn t support overheat protection and uses of all 3rd graphics drivers can lead to overheating problems

In your case, that the laptop could overheating due to dust and debris inside the laptop.
This could prevent the fans running at full speed.

So try to clean the fans using a jet of compressed air which is a professional tool for these jobs ;)

  • Recovery after that hibernation is too long on the Qosmio F30

    Hello

I use my Qosmio F30 laptop about 3 years and still have the same problem. Recovery of Windows after hibernation, it takes about 1 to 1.3 minutes long. Of course it is not too much, but I see how quickly rescind my other two books, with a lower and more good configuration cheap than the Qosmio.

Their recovery time is only 15 to 25 seconds. Where the problem may be?

I noticed that when the recovery starts, it will quickly about 2-3 seconds, and HDD LED at the moment is bright lighting. But then the progress freezes and continues slowly, and the HARD Drive LED lights more weak, it flashes just with a very fast rate. I think perhaps it means that problems on the HARD drive, maybe it works in mode "snail" at this time there and goes to normal work only after complete recovery?

Please help, I can't solve this problem on my own.

PS: Sorry for the bad English, it is not my mother tongue.

I checked that my pre-installed Vista Satellite P200 and the resumption after hibernation is about 55 seconds. Several applications are open. 1 minute is theoretically OK.
Your other laptops are not known to me and I can't say anything about it.

    Using Vista too?
You close all running applications before using hibernation mode?

  • I could use a second HDD in my Qosmio F50-108

I could put a second HDD in my Qosmio F50-108...

    What should I be careful?

    What HARD drive to buy?

    Thank you...

    Post edited by: dpasinis

I doubt that this is possible.

As I m not wrong not the F50-108 belongs to the series of PQF55E and verification of this series of models, I found and the info that this laptop supports a 320 GB (5400 RPM) SATA HDD but it doesn t support the second HDD.

However, I would recommend checking the bottom of the unit. Is there a possibility for an upgrade of the HARD drive then you should find a second HARD drive with a SATA HDD connector Bay.

  • How everything is the Qosmio?

My Satellite 5200 series certainly works "whisper quiet" - is a JOY compared to my excessively noisy desktop computer. Now that high spec ' gaming graphics cards are included in the top of the page Qosmios - can they still run relatively quietly?

I would like a machine mainly for video editing and assuming the Qosmios are better suited to this task to another ongoing series.

    Hi Tatt

My brother has Qosmio G20. I used the camera to create many DVD movies recorded with my video camera. My impression is that the unit is pretty quiet. If you work something usual, watch TV or even play games, the unit is quiet.

Just under the power of the cooling fan works at maximum speed. All my movies must be before converting it can be burned to the DVD. Just while the conversion process is running the unit was stronger but it's normal and specific for each portable unit, even for desktop computers.

    Good bye

  • I can watch DVDs in a window on the Qosmio?

I currently have a Satellite 5200 series that allows me to watch DVDs in a window so I have other tasks.
Is this also possible with the Qosmio?

    Hello

There are many different applications of DVD player on the market and you can use each of them. The WinDVD is preinstalled on the Qosmio, but if you want, you can install a different application like PowerDVD or something like that.
