3005 and routing

I have a 3005 with a public address of 209.3.157.86. It is attached to a switch that is located on one VLAN where our internet connect comes in. My PIX outside the int is also attached to this switch. The default GW is 66.77.117.65, but whenever I try to add 66.77.117.65 as the default gateway concentrator tells me "the gateway is not on a local network by default". What I'm doing wrong?

Thank you

Todd

It seems that the view of the topology does not. If all devices (ISP, PIX, hub) are in the same VLAN, then they are in the same broadcast domain. And, logically, they should be in the same subnet. On routers Cisco has the notion of secondary address so that you can have several different subnets on the same broadcast domain. But I don't think that this feature exists on the hub.

I'm a little confused on your network topology and traffic flow you want. The ISP network internal normal traffic flow of ISPS to PIX, through PIX to the network. What the ISP traffic hub? Should it be ISP directly to the hub (without going through the PIX) or is it another way?

If the traffic should flow from ISP directly to the hub, then it seems logical that the hub outside of the interface must be in the same subnet as the ISP. How the IP address on the hub did get choose? And why he was put in a different subnet? Or the traffic from the ISP takes an indirect path to the hub? Maybe you can clarify this?

    Hello severina_falls,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Community Forum.

I have some suggestions for you to see if we can provide you with your wireless connection.

    (1) check that the WiFi switch is on on the front panel of your laptop. It is a quick check
    (2) Recycle the router wireless on and outside. Wait at least one minute, then turn it back on. Retest with your wireless network.
    (3) are getting you the error messages in the case where connects to deal with your wireless connection?
To join the event logs: click on the Start button, right-click computer, click on manage.
If you receive a notification of user account control , simply click on continue.
Double-click Event Viewer. Study summary of the the event logs for errors dealing with wireless.
    (4) use System Restore to get your iIf wireless upward and running, you have a System Restore Point that was before starting the problem with your wireless network.
Use the following KB to get the procedure on the system restore.
936212 KB - how to repair the operating system and how to restore the configuration of the operating system to an earlier point in time in Windows Vista

  • Issue of ASA NAT and routing

    Hello

I have a question about NAT and routing on the SAA. I'm relatively new to ASA and don't know if it works or not. I have a pool of public IP (209.x.x.x/28) that routes my ISP to the external interface of my ASA. IP was assigned address for the outside of the ASA is an address of 206.x.x.2/24 with a default GW of 206.x.x.1. I intend using NAT to allow my web/mail servers on the DMZ (192.168.x.x) use 209.x.x.x addresses. However, I do know how to make it work since I'm not arping on any interface for 209.x.x.x addresses as they will be sent to the 206.x.x.2 address by the ISP. Can I just set up a translation NAT (on the external interface?) of the 209.x.x.x on 192.168.x.x address and the ASA will figure it out?

    Thanks for the help.

    Todd

The ASa will figure it out, he will answer ARP queries for all that he has set up in a "static" command As long as th PSIA routes 209.x.x.x directly to the ASA addresses then it should all work fine.

You just need to add lines like the following:

    static (dmz, external) 209.x.x.x netmask 255.255.255.255 192.168.x.x

for each of your internal servers in the DMZ. Then an access-list to allow only HTTP/SMTP/etc through these addresses 209.x.x.x.

list of allowed inbound tcp access any host 209.x.x.x eq smtp

list of allowed inbound tcp access any host 209.y.y.y eq http

    Access-group interface incoming outside

    Hello!

  • The fields 'Name' and 'Domain' to 'DNS and routing configuration/host Identification' are always in gray

In VI3, I used to change the settings of the host DNS (host and domain name) to the tab 'DNS and routing' - & gt; "Identification of home." Even more, if the DNS and DHCP are configured correctly in the environment, there is no need to set these values manually - they were discovered automatically. The story is defferent in vSphere 4. I still have the set of fields 'Name' by 'localhost' and 'Domain' field is empty. And I can't change them - they are grey.

Seems that the host is still able to discover its hostname automatically. I see the proper name in the (left pane of vSphere Client) console tree. But these values are not met the 'DNS and routing' tab and I can't put them manually.

This is normal and how do I use these fields now?

Yes, you're right. It's a little strange, but it works this way in vSphere now.

  • Router E1200 works not - error 3005 (and network does not connect by hand)

I am trying to put in place a new monitor of N300 E1200 and am not having any luck. Using the Cisco Connect ends with an error in step 'Validate the connection' each time, telling me:

    Error: 3005

An HNAP call to the device failed because the HTTP connection was broken.

(If it is relevant, the serioal number, type of connection and IP (WAN) all happen as "unknown" in the details of the error).

I am able to set up the router manually via the access by web browser. I can name the wifi network, set up security, and even see and authenticate to the network of my devices, however, no connection is available when it is connected. (The internet connection is good - when I move the incoming cable between the router and computer, I instantly have access - so perfect this post)

I also tried all the basic steps of reset and restart all involved several times, but I always end with the same result - 3005 error in the application configuration, then on a manually configured wifi network that seems to be working and can authenticate devices, but does not include any internet connection.

I am at a loss at this point - here someone has any advice? Thank you very much for your time and input.

    -e.

Then you must configure PPPoe in the router, unless your ADSL modem is already acting as a router and not the PPPoe.

  • ORBI replace DSL Modem and router Nighthawk?

I have a Nighthawk AC1900 R7000 router and a Netgear DM111PSPv2 Modem and I was wondering if the system ORBI would replace both of them and give me greater coverage. Anyone?

Thanks for the reply. Think I'll stick to what I have.

  • WNR3500L model after a power cut my modem and router stopped working.

I tried to unplug and leave for 30 minutes and plugged back but nothing has worked. Does anyone know what I need to do?

What are the symptoms that you get from the router? In the case the modem and the router something might have gotten fried. I would try different adapters on both hoping that power adapters are those who got fried. If you still have the same results its probably time to get the router and the new modem. Let us know what happens.

  • HP c410: hp c410 printer and router netgear wnr 2500 wifi

For the past 8 years, I have been using a linksys router.  Every night, I stop everything, including the router and internet modem.   The next morning I would re - start everything and the printer will automatically reconnect through the router.  Finally, I replaced the dinosaur of a router with a wifi wnr netgeat router 2500.  Now, when I stopped the router, I recreate the connection.  I used the manual method and the WPS method, and none took place.  I've also had occasional problems with the connection is lost or is hard to do.  I would like suggestions.

    Hey @iwilder,

I understand that since hang your new router Netgear your HP Photosmart Premium Fax e-All-in-One-C410a printer fails to reconnect automatically to your network every morning that you unplug all devices power every night. However, your printer has been able to automatically reconnect to your original Linksys router every day.  Because your printer works well, once the wifi installation is run, we know that the wireless in your printer card works properly. I think that this problem is due to a conflict with the new Netgear router setting. I will get you a few steps below to solve this problem for you.

    Step 1: connectivity:

When you connect all your devices in the morning, make sure that you plug your router first. Once the router is on and functioning, your printer in. If the printer is connected prematurely, your custom network connection is active on the router and printer do not automatically reconnect to your network. Therefore, it is perhaps just a case do not give enough time for your router to power on before connecting your HP Photosmart camera.

Step 2: Check the router settings:

Some settings in your router can cause your printer does not reconnect automatically. This does not mean that everything is 'wrong' with your router. It may be just that your router does its job too well and does not your printer to automatically reconnect to the network as the printer is considered a "threat". To resolve this problem, please can I make sure that the following ports are open on your router and that the following parameters are adjusted. If you do not know how to change these settings on your own, you will need to have Netgear support will guide you through this.

    • Incoming (UDP) Ports to open:

    137, 138, 161, 427

    • Outgoing (TCP) Ports to open:

    137, 139, 427, 9100, 9220, 9500

    • Please also visit:
    -Mac filtering should be OFF
  • Reset the modem and router

I have reset my modem and the router and now my wireless connection log. No error messages either.

If you reset your router access point / wireless to factory default you have wiped out any customization that has been created for your (home) network? Two that immediately come to mind would be static by CMA IP address assignment and parameters of encryption without wire/password.

You must get a CAT5/6 cable and connect a direct connection to your router to go, and then make the changes that can accommodate a wireless connection that suits your situation. By default, most routers will not allow change settings via a wireless connection.
