  I'm trying to find out if there is a tool to prepare config Cisco routers/switches. I'm looking to prepare the basic config with some VLANS, static IP, etc. of the AAA. Should I use GNS3 as Simulator to simulate a router and configure it to serve as a model or if there is another free light weight tool where I can test config for typo errors or something.

  I inherited a network in a colo data center.

  Current network has a Dell 2724 switch in unmanaged mode. Servers using the 192.168.195.0/24 range.

  A new facility will be 3 vSphere, 2 Dell Equalogic PS4000 hosts and 2 Dell 6224 switches for redundancy.

  The 6224 are segmented into VLAN.

  The new configuration was to use the beach of 192.168.196.0/24.

  VLAN 205 receives data from firewall to the camp and our 2724 switch.

  On the 6224 2 port goes to the old switch 2724. He is member of the VLAN 205 and 405 defined on Trunk, AdmitTaggedOnly.

  I recently bought two Dell R710 with NIC 8 + 2 x 520 FPS + iSCSI traffic.

  I designed the following config: (excluding the iSCSI)

  * 1 liaison rising vmkernel-management

  * 1 liaison rising vmotion vmkernel

  * 2 liaison rising vmkernel-nfs

  * 4 uplink for the VM network

  As the storage solution is mixed with iSCSI + NFS, we wanted to provide a high resilience to the backend NFS with two uplinks dedicated.

  In addition, vmotion, management and nfs services are in different VLANS in a stack of Catalyst 3750.

  Management interfaces are configured in the cisco access mode, so without trunk vlan exists in any interface.

  My problem is the NFS traffic is travelling through the uplink of management:-$...

  Would be a good idea to join all the rising management (nfs, vmotion, mgmt) in a vswitch and configure an lacp in cisco devices to provide resilience and balance the vmkernel services? Or it is preferable to maintain the current design?

  Of course, any other ideas are welcome.
