Cisco 79xx Auto composition! = Boring!

Hi all

I use 6 x IP 7960 G's mode SIP phones, you use an operator of Kerio server.

When a user connects to any of the phones, they seem to auto-dial too quickly. For example if the user types the first numbers of the phone number they wish to achieve, it will automatically dial after about one second. It's annoying because if the user dialed the number of a piece of paper, they would have to memorize the number before dialing.

Is there some way that I can disable the automatic dialing of phones feature or at least increase the time before they go ahead and one line?

Thank you!

-BensTechTips

You will need to modify the file called dialplan.xml it and download it to the phone. This file contains entries as "9.1..." that cause the phone automatically dial after a game.

You can follow these steps:

Information on dialing (DIAL plan. XML)

The DIAL plan. XML file control of the corresponding phone numbers.  By default ' * ' matches anything and expires after 5 seconds.  Users should run a push "Dial" or "#" to connect if they do not want to wait 5 seconds.  For various reasons, not least including is that most phone users are not accustomed to pushing "Dial" on their desks, it may be desirable to set up a dial for your organization plan.

If you want to use the hash (default that it immediately dials the entered number) include explicitly in the context of a model in DIALPLAN. XML

Another example: we immediately validate 9 + 10digits or 9 + 1 + 10digits and match 5 + 2digits as receivers

In the example above, a high tone is called by the comma.  If your attribute is left blank, the default value will be used.  Or you can specify one of the following:

  • Bellcore alert
  • Bellcore-busy
  • Bellcore-BusyVerify
  • Bellcore-CallWaiting
  • Bellcore-Confirmation
  • Bellcore-dr1
  • Bellcore-dr2
  • Bellcore-dr3
  • Bellcore-dr4
  • Bellcore-dr5
  • Bellcore-dr6
  • Bellcore-Hold
  • Bellcore-Inside
  • Bellcore - no
  • Bellcore-outside (default)
  • Permanent Bellcore
  • Bellcore-reminder
  • Bellcore-Reorder
  • Bellcore-stuttering
  • CallWaiting-2
  • CallWaiting-3
  • CallWaiting-4
  • Cisco-BeepBonk
  • Cisco-Zip
  • Cisco-Steve

Note: This file is case-sensitive in some versions of firmware; all elements and attributes must be capitalized (except tone) or entries can be ignored.  According to Cisco, the phone will always match the expression LONGER.

  • Cisco VCS and composition to an IP address

I have a question about the composition of address Ip and VCS. In the Administrator's guide, he says that VCS determines that an IP address that will be called if it is:

-is the IP of a locally registered endpoint

-Beach one of the subzone of address membership rules is the responsibility of intellectual property

The second point is that of interest. As part of the way in which it is presented, I take this means that if a subarea membership rule has a range of IP addresses that includes the address of a non-registered endpoint then VCS will still attempt to place the call to the endpoint not registered regardless of the setting "Calls for unknown IP addresses" (under the numbering plan). For example,.

Assume the end point has (EP - A) is enrolled in a VCS control that is configured to use the mode indirectly for "calls to unknown IP addresses. The idea here is that there is a highway of VCS. Suppose that there is an end point (EP - B) on the internal network that EP - A wants to call. EP - B is behind the firewall, but it does is not registered in the VCS - C. Finally, suppose the SCV - C has a subarea (let's call it "Internal-Unregistered") with a membership of 10.10.10.0/24 rule.

Now, if the address IP of EP - B is 10.10.10.10 and EP - A dials by IP, will be the call successfully established? Based on the Administrator's guide, the VCS will see the EP - B IP as "known." The Administrator's guide does, really, that the call would be placed. I'm stuck sorta messaging RAS, since EP - B would not be exchanging messages with the VCS - C RAS.

I also wonder about calls from unregistered endpoint. EP - B could call EP - A directly. I don't want to support this behavior in the design (I recommend rather using the numbering of the URI. I am considering set up the Alias of relief on the VCS - C to channel calls from unknown devices to an attendant on the MCU. Regardless, what I was asking is the following:

If I have a membership rule subarea as above and EP - B sends a message of call setup to the VCS - C, the VCS - C would still see the call as coming from the default Zone of the local area? The reason I wonder is because of the way the Administrator's guide defines "known IP addresses.

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards

    Bill

    Hi Bill,

to answer your question about the first scenario (where EP at dials the address IP of the EP B), VCS would attempt to place the call if there is a rule of type search 'AnyIPAddress' for the local area on the VCS - C (and assuming that the previously mentioned subzone containing 10.10.10.0/24 exists). VCS would be in this case send a message of CONFIGURATION H225 EP B.

For the second scenario, where EP B contains the IP of the EP, EP B would send that an INSTALLATION H225 EP EP a. message would then for the message INSTALLATION with an INSTALLATION containing a reason 'routeCallToGatekeeper", instructing EP B to dial the address IP of VCS instead, since the VCS want to be included in the call, signaling path.

To answer your last question, with regard to the area in which a call of an endpoint not registered (when the IP address of endpoint belongs to a subnet-type subfield) comes on, the answer is that the appeal turns on the default Zone. Calls will be local area if the call comes from a real end point recorded.

    I hope this helps.

  • Cisco TCS auto reboot on power failure

    Hi all

We have a new site with Cisco telepresence content server. There as some electrical work happens and sometimes there is power failure. After each power failure, you must manually activate TCS. • VCS Cisco control / Core Expressway interoperability

    Hello

I have the fate of unmanageable endpoints on the internal network, functioning as a H323 IP address directly.
In fact, we had regular meetings as the auto numbering unmanageable endpoint by H323 IP address directly.
Unmanageable end points would not be registered in the VCS / CUCM.

    1. can I adjust the composition of Cisco driver auto & GST to endpoints VC not saved by its IP address (regular meeting VC > Auto call the IP address internal VC endpoints directly)?

    2. or should I deploy VCS / Expressway to consume the traversal lic. / RMS lic. from autodial URI translate be IP call? Can I just deploy the VCS - C / E motorway in order to reduce the lic. costs?

    You don't need a VCS-E for this.

Just go to the plan of numbering - Setup and call to unknown IP addresses as Direct. The alternative would be to create a subzone with a membership rule with the IP of your endpoint. Depends on if you want to only allow the call to this particular or to any endpoint IP on your network endpoint.

  • Confused on what I should do to the extent of the VLAN PVID vs

I have a complicated image it's crazy to watch, but I hope I can explain it enough:

I have currently a Powerconnect 2716 connected two Poweredge 2950's particular race as long as ESXi Hypervisors, and their data warehouses are on a MD3000i iSCSI SAN (the main use of the switch is the iSCSI san, servers have connections of backup for the client/guest network access).

Hypervisors vmnic config was hokey at best because we did not have the second gigabit switch to have enough ports to run everything and have redundancy, so I ended up using a lot of 10/100 ports on my Catalyst 3750 PoE switch for guest computers and my iSCSI on the 2716 traffic.

I now have the second 2716 and crosses the configs on the old switch, I realized that I had taken my comments machine network inside out vlan1 and iSCSI ports using the pvid.

Here's my dilemma, I want the network traffic between the two switches for multiple VLANs, but not others.

    My proposed solution is

    (4) VLANS 1, 10, 130, 139.

    (3) GAL: 1 (2-4 ports), 2 (7, 8 ports) 3 (ports 14.14)

belonging to a VLAN will be:

-VLAN1 is for managing the switch, I will have my switches addressed as 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2 and I want trunk VLAN1 LAG1 through so I can handle both switches and either: plug to switch to port 1 with a laptop or use a remote VM guest with shared resources in on LAG2 VLAN

-VLAN10 is for my vMotion, just a 10.x.x.x and me planned to redirect it on the LAG even as my machine comments traffic

    -VLAN130 is my iSCSI SAN

    -VLAN139 is my Machine/vSphere Client/visitor access

What I fear is VLAN139 traffic with the filtering of capture off the coast and out without label on 16 port which could cross the trunk of LAG 1 (ports 2,3,4) (via VLAN1) and which causes a loop since the 2716 does not support STP.

I want to master the iSCSI, management switch and vMotion across two switches Dell but I want computers invited to climb their respective uplinks of switches. I can't have curls if not all my client/server traffic will cross through a Dell for the other Dell to find the uplink of work when the cisco STP auto disable one of the ports

Can I do this, even if by default, all ports are in VLAN1 unidentified? Or I'll have to this redesign and PVID allows to separate the ports 10-16 and put my VLAN10 on LAG2 as well as iSCSI traffic?

Can VLAN 10 exist on PVID 2 while the trunk between the 2716 is in 1 PVID and always pass traffic between switches?

Have I fried the brain of everyone with my images and my knowledge "just enough to be dangerous?

    Thanks in advance! :)

PVID 1 is the default, but if you change it on an interface, page 52 ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_powerconnect/powerconnect-2708_User%27s%20Guide_en-us.pdf , then it will use the PVID you set to no marked traffic. So if you put LAG3 PVID 139, untagged traffic goes to 139 and tagged will go to VLAN 10. If Cisco is down not signposted in 139 with a PVID of 139, then everything should work correctly with your configuration and do what you want it to do.

  • The AIP - SSM to unused ASA connection interface

    Hi people,

Perhaps, someone has already raised this issue, but I was unable to find anything relevant. We have an ASA with an unused interface (gig0/3). The sensor of the AIP - SSM is physically connected to this interface with the following IP settings:

    Sensor (192.168.2.2/30,192.168.2.1)---interface ASA (192.168.2.1/30)

It's basically point to point connectivity, and I can reach the ASA of the sensor and the other way around.

This design is dictated by the lack of a free port on the switch.

Technically, it should work without any problems, but I can't seem to be able to reach the sensor. There is a switch between my PC and the sensor and the switch has the corresponding static route added. I can reach the switch sensor.

Is there a security feature hidden I don't know that prevent communication with the sensor.

And ACL of the sensor allows the traffic to all networks (0.0.0.0/0)

With the sensor acl set to 0.0.0.0/0, the sensor must be allowing connectivity.

You can use the 'View of package' command on the sensor to look at packets on the interface command and control to see if the packets are what makes the sensor.

You say that you have a static route on your switch for the switch reach your sensor. Do you know if your PC is configured to use the switch as the computer's default router. If the PC is to use a different default router, then the other router should also the static route.

The other possibility is that the SAA itself can be deny traffic.

Since this is an ASA connected to the MSS interface, the traffic must be routed through the ASA. Standard firewall rules apply to this traffic. The security level of the interfaces can prevent traffic, and an ACL may be necessary in order to allow the circulation of your PC be routed to the SSM.

NOTE: If you don't want to have to worry about roads, the other alternative is to make the network between the ASA and SSM to be an isolated network that only 2 machines know.

You can then use PAT static to map a port on the inside of the ASA interface with the address of the SSM 443 https port and map a second port of the SAA within the interfaces to the address of the SSM SSH port.

How your home PC would simply plug the ASA IP using these specific ports and the ASA would do the translation of port and transmit on the MSS.

The SSM address could also be dynamically PAT would have on the SAA within the address, so SSM could start the connection to other machines on the inside network.

Another alternative if you have addresses available on your inside network IP is to use static NAT instead of PAT. And just go forward and has the ASA statically map an IP network on IP of the SSM on the network that only the ASA and the SSM inside could know.

In both cases the network between the ASA and SSM would not routable at, and you wouldn't have to worry of reproducing static routes anywhere.

SIDE NOTE: A separate network for the SSM you Becase you will also need to NAT or PAT address of the SSM for the ASA to outside interface. In this way the SSM will be able to connect to Internet to download cisco.com auto updates, and/or pull overall correlation of servers cisco information. It's probably the same configuration that you would already other internal addresses, and just to be sure, you cover the SSM since you have it on a separate subnet.

    URL

    Hello

    a. currently IOS - IPS doesn't have the feature to have updates from automatic signing of cisco.com as IPS appliances and make modules.

Therefore, there is no url on cisco.com auto-signatures updated for IOS - IPS.

    b. you can have your own HTTP/TFTP server where you can keep all the IPS signatures downloaded from cisco.com the IOS - IPS can grab files from this server. The configuration, you are referring to this part of the Setup where you specify the address identification information and the connection to HTTP/TFTP server.

    c. in addition, the same configuration can be made by CCP (IOS - IPS configuration is less bulky via CCP). Attach a screenshot.

  • Cisco ucs with VMware 5 auto deploy

    Hello

In our lab, I test with 5 VMware and Cisco UCS. We run UCSM 2.0 (1 m). I am now to test the auto hand deploy. I have auto configuration to deploy in VMware and it works (first of all, I had some problems with DHCP on windows which is solved in version 2.0 of UCSM (q)). vSphere gets deployed to the blade. When the blade (vShpere) wants to connect to vCenter I get an error of vCenter has enough licesing for this action. I loaded a lot of low-income VMware. When I create a virtual machine, it starts perfectly and apears in vCenter.

I search on the internet for people who have the problem of the simailer, but could not find.

Some body the same problem our help me?

    Thanks in advance,

    Robin,

This looks more like a VC related question (UCS) platform.  UCS has no effect on the functionality of licenses of the VC.

If the host does not connect to the CR, how are you VMs to "start perfectly and appear in vCenter?

  • Cisco IPS 6.1 Auto Update password encryption

I have recently set up the automatic update via Cisco. I entered my CCO username and password via the GUI. As I entered the password, the characters were displayed in the form of points. A little later, I was in the EPI CLI. I noticed in the "show config" my CCO username and password are in the clear. Is there a way to encrypt my password? I assume developers Cisco intended for me to use my ORC. Should I use a different id EAC? Maybe a generic company userid has only IPS signature update capabilities.

It is very likely that the provider has configured its device for 100 Mbps, which was compatible with the interface of your FE 1841. If you configure the 1921 at a fixed speed of 100 Mbps and full-duplex, it should probably work.
