  • How to ensure the compatibility of Application on different devices like the curve and the storm. ?

    Hello

Currently I am working on an application and

What we expect is that "Application will work in the curve and storm Blackberry secruit phone devices.".

How I ensure this. or what are the requirements.

I'll have to do different things for different devices. ?

If some has a link to information that can explain the difference on various devices, please give me. Please, I beg you.

Please help me in this regard.

    Thank you.

Development of applications of BB is compatible before, then you might reference the version of operating system that you want to support, same generation will be used on other devices.

    Hi all

When I run the application that has been designed using the 4.5 and 4.7 makes the keyboard open, the screen size is reduced for other areas appear in blue in the color of the curve

Can tell me the reason and the solution for this

no programmatic way to do this.

FYI: See the image as an attachment

It seems that the compatibility mode for me, you can disable it in the options.
If you compiled with 4.7 and it shouldn't happen AFAIK

Figured it out.  It's a theme for one of my apps, so I submitted it under themes, but which excluded the BB7 devices.

  • Post-it notes 'compatibility mode' delivers on Storm

We have a recurring problem with OS 4.7 and the storm. It goes like this: a customer has a curve (or other older device) and the modernization of a storm. When they migrate to the new device, he puts on our OS version 4.2 of the application to the storm.

Of course, the storm recognizes that our version 4.2 is not able to touch and places it in the penalty box "compatibility." Then there are numbers that we have a version of the storm on the web site, so that it will download this version.

Unfortunately, OS 4.7 has already placed the app in the penalty area, so the app still works in compatibility mode (blue border, permanent keyboard). Finally, he comes in contact with our support office and receives instructions to completely remove the app, reboot and re - download version 4.7.

So here's the problem: it sometimes works, and sometimes it isn't. We are accumulating a growing (and very angry) Group of customers who are still stuck in "compatibility" mode

    Someone has found a sure-fire method to disable this & * % ^ @*) (#& @ compatibility mode?)

Thank you, we will try to disable manual.

I also received a note from RIM to set the JAD file with the following property:

    RIMTouchCompatibilityMode = false

    Anyone tried this?

Hard looking for workaround to export or even begin to create a theme with 480 x360, for what is now, I always come back on the ' wait for 4.7. But customers are now screaming.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Compatability between blackberry and Microsoft Mail

I bought a computer with windows Vista 64 bit. The seller has convinced me that I don't have outlook, as it had Microsoft mail. I tried to sync contacts and calendar, but have problems. Contacts seem to be picking up information from the fields, so I lose a lot on the blackberry or the spread between home info and info office. I have not been able to tt sync until the calendar to the alll. I am using Desktop manager V5.0, the version of the platform is 3.4and application versiin is 4.5.0.131. Is this an inherent compatibility or it should work?

The phone is the Blackberry Curve 8330.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

This is the KB that deals with PIM DTM software compatibility:

I can't see Microsoft Mail there anywhere.

  • BlackBerry Sync BB Curve with Lotus Organizer 6.1 smartphones?

How I got to where I am:

I tried to help my girlfriend to set up his new curve (8330 - Verizon) for synchronizing with Lotus Organizer 6.1.  (The system is a desktop computer Compaq running Windows XP Home).  The provided version of the Desktop (4.3) software does not support Organizer 6.x - at least it does not organizing as an option when trying to configure the synchronization PIM.  (RIM/blackberry are pretty stupid to drop compatibility with older software - how hard is it to continue to be able to read and write a single file format more?)  "And although the Organizer 6.1 is old, it is still sold by IBM because people like it even better than any other alternative).

Reading some forum posts and other material on this site is look like 4.2 version of the desktop software working with the organiser, so I uninstalled 4.3 and installed 4.2.

(Sign of bugginess 4.3: the wizard 'Remove Programs' hung during the uninstallation of version 4.3 - he has said it was uninstalling Roxio media software.)  What this has to do with the Destop Manager?  In any case, I had to put an end to the program and wenth through the registry by had then to remove references to the Blackberry Destop Manager.  After all this, 4.2 could install).

But now it seems that the 4.2 version of the Blackberry Device Manager cannot recognize the Curve 8330 - he reports no Blackberry device is connected, even if it is plugged into the USB port.

    Issues related to the:

    1. is there actually a way to get the Desktop Manager 4.3 working with Lotus Organizer 6.1?  (If it offers Organizer 6.0 that will work too).

    2. otherwise, version 4.2 actually work with the Organizer 6.1?  If so, can I run version 4.2 of the Desktop Manager with version 4.3 of the Device Manager?  Where can I download just the Device Manager 4.3 without the Desktop Manager?

I know after jumping through hoops a lot I was finally able to get my Blackberry Desktop talk to the Organizer 6.1 right now, but it was MUCH more difficult than it should be.  (And I think that was with older versions of the software BB).

    Thank you.

You were on the right track, however, it will not correctly work with versions of BB Desktop Manager that do not include the built in Organizer conduit.

    I used the version 4.1.1 with a Curve 8320.

Basically, when you have reached the point where the curve is not known is where the rub. Older versions do not have the driver USB of the curve under the package. I installed 4.3 who had the right drivers for the 8320. Once installed, I copied this installation usbrim.* files in a folder on the desktop.

Uninstalled 4.3 and loaded Desktop Manager 4.1.1. Once installed, I copied the drivers usbrim.* in the desktop folder to their original location. Open the device upward and found Office Manager.

You were close. I haven't tried with 4.2, but know that it works with 4.1.

  • BlackBerry 8530 Curve smartphones does not sync with my Microsoft Outlook 2010.

Curve 8530 does not sync with my Microsoft Outlook 2010.

Although I used a Palm Treo years, I am new to BB and Metro PCS. The OS is v5.0.0.973. (The Palm Treo has not correctly synchronized since this summer. that's why I got the Blackberry.) Some old Palm Treo data are saved as ASCII files).

I connect my new BB 8530 via the USB port on my computer. From the Blackberry Desktop Manager 5.0.1 version, I click the icon synchronize. I select the boxes to synchronize the data of the Organizer, to update the time and date of the device and synchronize automatically. When I click on synchronize, the message box asks me if I want to configure synchronization settings now. Ok.

He asks me to choose an application to synchronize. By clicking on the calendar, select Microsoft Outlook and 2 way to sync. Complete the installation schedule welcome.

However, when I cliquerai to finish, I get the error message "Microsoft Outlook Connector error: no available message store.» The setting does not save.

the same result for other applications.

I shut down my computer and restarted. I deleted the Intellisync folder, as suggested in another post. still no synchronization.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Office of RIM 5.0.1 software tells you that you are using is not compatible with Outlook 2010. You need to upgrade to level 6.0 from the RIM of the Desktop for Outlook 2010 compatibility software. However, if you use Outlook 2010 64-bit, there currently is no version of RIM software which is compatible... only the 32-bit Outlook 2010 is currently compatible.

    Good luck!

  • Lose a client of BC on models and mobile compatibility issues.

I designed this site before BC had mobile compatible models. The customer is facing serious problems with the site due to the incompatibility of the submenus multi level and albums that do not work with mobile phone.  I was forced to create a separate CSS menu system and templates for the mobile version, but this means that menu systems are not dynamic or set to update automatically.   Previously, you were not able to replace the models by default BC with new ones, as you can do in WordPress.    Because of these problems, my client is thought to leave BC completely.    Do you have any recommendations?  I could design a site that meets from scratch as I do to sites non - bc, but wonder about the compatibility issues to replace the current models and how they will work with models of system and e-commerce of BC.  (The lightbox problem is with thumbnails in catalogs!)  When we started, we had only about 30% of mobile phones, but now we are up to 84%.  It is easier to trash the entire site and start from scratch than to try to make the former model compatible with mobile phone!

When I started in BC, I was impressed at first, but more I worked with it, more frustrated that I became and ceased to recommend with the exception of the simplest e-commerce sites.   British Colombia is far behind the curve of development on mobility from the very beginning.

This is false, since you only option menu CSS/HTML and layouts for this in menu v2, you can do any type of menu and menus adapted or separate layouts templates/mobile. BC does not limit you at all in the menu.

With even more control of the liquid so there is nothing you can't do.

  • How to: Crush 3/iMac 5 k (compatibility mode)

    Hello friends,

I see quite a few new features on the market with Thunderbolt 3. According to the FAQ of TB3 Intel, TB1 and TB2 was designed with future upgrades in mind. This means that you can connect, once a solution is available, on a host of TB2 TB3 system using compatibility mode. It will only work to 20Gbps TB2, but work remains. The same is true of peripheral TB2 TB3 host computer (will work but at slower speed)

This would be similar to the connection of a USB 3 device on a USB 2 or 1 USB host but only get speeds over slow or vice versa.

The question I have is that if someone came out with these fittings/adapters? What I've seen online seems to go using a device of TB2 and TB3 host and each of these adapters is Windows only. I have spent too many hours searching so I'm curious to know if someone has yet to fall on an adapter or converter that connect DisplayPort TB2 host and have the device USB-C/TB3 (USB - C not only) in compatibility mode.

The reason? Peripheral TB3 are already less expensive than TB2 devices. I don't know who will get the most expensive. I don't care 40Gbps if he gives me a simple way to add multiple devices USB 3.0, exhibitions and maybe the eSata device. I know there are hubs, but I would prefer something that is the test of the future TB3 would be cheaper and future proof for NeXTGen computers.

(Sorry for the TL; DR but it is always a person who does not read or "assume" it is a noob question and gives an answer "Captain Obvious". Don't BE this guy here...)
