400-297hk Pavilion: WiDi or Miracast on a 400-297hk Pavilion

I have a 400-297hk flag I bought a few months, with the understanding that he was "ready for WiDi. But now I just try to set up the WiDi I can't get the system to recognize that he is capable of it. I am running Windows 8.1.

This Pavilion model comes with a nVidia GT635 graphics card and a Broadcom BCM943228 wireless adapter. These two devices appear to be WiDi capable adapters. However, I don't see the option 'Add a Wireless Display' when I go to devices/project.

I am trying to connect to a screen with an Actiontec ScreenBeam Mini2 adapter.

I can add it as a device manually - it seems to speak to my PC, generates an access code and then I can enter this code. The device appears on the list of system devices. He said that "Magic is about to happen" on my screen, but it fails.

The software Intel WiDi tells me that I am using an unsupported of Intel Graphics device.

Can someone confirm definitively that I should be able to get this working with my ActionTec adapter Pavilion? And if so, give me directions to the drivers/software or something to get it working?

I also note in passing that a 400-297hk motherboard has an integrated Intel Graphics adapter that is disabled somehow, and ports covered in panels-caches. I'm not a particularly heavy graphic user, then I'd be happy to remove the nVidia card and activate the graphic card Intel so that let me operate WiDi.

Thank you for all the helpful tips.

So I finally around trying this, and in case someone else has the same question in the future, here's what you need to know:

Yes, if you just remove the nVidia card and remove the panels "do not remove" VGS and DVI jacks on the motherboard then the system starts smoothly using the integrated Intel 4600HD graphics card.

As far as I know, what you lose from this is a HDMI video output, which isn't a problem for me.

However, WiDi still does not work, and the tool Intel WiDi reports despite the fact that hardware incompatibility chart and wifi are clearly on the compatibility list. The problem is that HP has a custom for the Intel graphics driver. Attempt to use any automatic update tool to get the latest drivers Intel fails, saying that I have the latest version of the driver for my hardware. Even if you download the latest Intel driver and try to do a manual driver update fails, I have the latest version.

What you have to do is to uninstall the first HP Intel standard display driver manually. That can get you to base support of Microsoft display with resolution reduced etc. You can then do a manual installation of the latest Intel generic drivers. And once you do that everything seems fine - I had no problems, and the possibility of adding a wireless display is present in the device settings screen. I am writing this response when using WiDI via an Actiontec Screenbeam Mini2 ability to my Sony Bravia TV (a bit old).

I wonder why HP would bother to have drivers customized if those generic work fine (as they seem to do), but anyway, that's how you get the ability to display wireless working on a 400-297hk Pavilion. I hope this is useful to someone else!

  • Miracast and Intel WiDi

I have a HP Pavilion g6-2010nr Notebook PC.  It comes with Windows 7.  I want to use a wireless display adapter to wireless display (mirror) my laptop on TV screen.  It requires that my phone be 'Intel WiDi and Miracast' enabled. Is my laptop Intel WiDi and the active Miracast? What I have to install something? or Windows 7 can do? If Windows 7 can do, how to connect? I know that on Windows 8 there is a project option that allows you to connect to a TV, but I don't know where to find this option in Windows 7.  I'm a newbie, so the more details the better.

I would be surprised if the software simply verified Intel WiFi drivers. He'll almost certainly check physical hardware.
If this is the case then "Adator WiFi not supported" is explicit. As I've mentioned in my previous post, the requirement is for the pilots and not "ready" software or specific hardware.

To check a second time, try to run the hardware detection program Acre on the download site. In addition to this, you may also be able to get more information about the actual WiFi card of your device manager. Check your results against the Intel compatibility list.

Unfortunately I have no technical info for your model, so I'm unable to confirm what motherboard chipset you have.

  • HP G60-549DX: use Smart TV as a Second monitor wireless

Help a friend tries to use Smart TV as a second monitor.  Laptop can't find the TV - both are saved on the network wireless with MAC addresses.  I downloaded and installed the 5 recommended on the site of HP - drivers did not help.  Is it possible to do what the laptop is configured now?  If this isn't the case, upgrading Windows 10 would do the trick?

Some SMART TVs equipped of a receiver widi or miracast built in. My LG does, for example. Upgrade to Windows 10 fair changes how you set up the cast he adds the capabilities of the wireless card. I note the laptop listed in your message seems to have a dual processor Pentium and I thought excluded Intel WiDi. If I understand correctly, you have sunk your laptop but have never been able to cast of older HP laptop of your friend. Chances are that this laptop is not capable of casting.

There are inexpensive options of google (Chromecast) and amazon for wireless dongles that plug into the TVs HDMI port and can accept the casting of any wireless device.

  • Can we get along and the skinny on Dell's Active pens?

So I just bought a Dell Pro 11 Dell taking place.  Screaming deal - $513 after shipping and taxes for a tablet of class business with a TPM, a good BIOS/UEFI (suck it, Surface) and accessible (including batteries!) internal material as well as delicious cherries on top like the WiDi, NFC, Miracast, etc.  The Haswell with the latest Intel Core i5, 8 GB of RAM, and 256 GB SATA SSD (slime) are pretty Ballin ', too.  I'm very excited about it, and I thank you, Dell, for the design of this piece of engineering magnificence and to make accessible to a cheapskate like me for about 500 dollars to panic.

There is ONE thing, however, that frustrate me.

I received an email this morning from Aishwarya J Manay informing me that the active stylus Dell #750 - LT. I had selected in my order was no longer available, but that he could order me the replacement unit - the Dell #750 - AAGN active stylus.  Interesting.

First of all, accessories for e-mail client (in this case me) to ask what they want!  It's good customer service!

On the flipside, I SCOURED internet for more information on the differences between them, and I've found NO official information about it.  I'm flying blind, relying on hearsay and message forum.  While useful, it would be nice to have a breakdown of the differences between these pens directly from the horse's mouth.  I read that the first version of the active stylus Dell was somewhat full of bugs related to the precision and responsiveness - flaws that would be dealbreakers for me.  If I wanted a Tablet only generic without a stylus and a digitizer, I have set for the Atom-based sites or go with another brand altogether... but I wanted a tablet which had a GOOD pen and a GOOD scanner with GOOD responsiveness for digital take notes, sketch and art.

So with my research, it SEEMS to me that #750 - AAGN is the new active stylus Dell... but my own reading, it seems that it might actually be the THIRD and last revision?  But I honestly don't know--maybe it's the first, and you guys are just trying to pawn off the coast of some old stock on some dumb * who don't know any better (shakes fist with anger).

I don't know, but it would be nice to hear official word on this subject from you guys...

    Sincerely,

-Anyone who is considering buying a Dell coming Pro.

I think your interpretation is correct: the stylus you will receive, with a barrel that is half silver, half black (all previous versions/revisions were all black), is the last refinement (let's call it a revision or a new version) unhappy stylus pen active Dell, Dell has worked to eliminate earlier, problems.  I usually heard for most of the positive things about it, and that Dell "finally got right."

You can read much more on its subject (the active stylus for Dell, all the versions/revisions) from the perspective of the consumer in the various threads on the forum Dell tabletpcreview.com.   http://Forum.TabletPCReview.com/forums/Dell.1032/ and here is the direct link to the most recent thread, discussing the latest version.  http://Forum.TabletPCReview.com/threads/new-Dell-stylus-11-3-14.64415/

  • Pavilion dv6 - 7043cl: Reinstall Intel WiDi, HP compatible version on 64 bit Win 7 Pavilion DV6

On my Pavilion dv6 - 7043cl, with Windows 7 (64-bit), I had been using the Intel WiDi successfully to the screen of my computer on my 50 LG Smart 3D TV, except for the display of 3D images processed in the correct 3D TV fit-a proven program (Stereoscopic Player).   To try to resolve the problem of 3D, I've updated the Intel's WiDi with the latest version on the Intel site, only to discover that I had missed a message indicating that another version of HP OEM of WiDi has been set up by HP for the maverick graphic processor on my dv6, requiring the HP software update.  Thus, subsequent attempts to use the WiDi Intel--update failed;  computer to TV connection has been detected, but on the TV screen, rather than get a duplicate of my computer screen, I got a box in the lower right corner, saying something like "Miracast connection".  After the disappearance of this box, nothing on the TV and the message on the computer returns to "disconnected".

I tried to restart - tried again, same result.  Through HP Support Assistant, drilling up to my description of the computer and looking at the updated list.  Under something like "Displays and Multimedia. I found the HP Intel WiDi update and tried to apply it.  Unfortunately, the result was a message that I had already "installed a newer version" (apparently the update I had applied since the Intel web site).  As a result, I thought that I had to reinstall the Intel WiDi basis from a registered source file and update the list update HP rather than use the one on the Intel Web Site.

So I uninstalled the Intel WiDi of the "programs and features" in the Panel.  Now I can not find a setup file for the base WiDi that works with my computer!   Question: How do you recommend I have restore the HP Intel WiDi for Windows 7 (64 bit) version?

    Hello:

I found the Intel Wireless Display software under the section multimedia driver on your laptop support and driver page.

Of course, I would have thought that he would have been entered in the section of the wireless driver...

This package contains the Intel Wireless Display software for the laptop models running a supported operating system. Intel Wireless display software allows users to view information and video on a remote monitor or a TV equipped with a device that supports the technology Intel Wireless display (WiDi). This software runs only on systems that meet the eligibility criteria specified by Intel.

  • HP Pavilion Slimeline 400-224: upgrade memory on Pavilion Slimline 400-224

I want to upgrade the memory of my HP pavilion slimline 400-224.  After opening the case, how do I determine how many memory locations is available?  The current Council of the memory is SK Hynix 4 G 1Rx8 PC3L 12800 S-11-13 - B4.   It seems to be another location, just underneath and take-away.

Can you tell me if this machine has one or two slots for memory...  Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Here are thespecifications of your machine. It allows two modules of 8 GB.  You said 4 GB installed.  Which would jive with your Visual (only 1 modules installed). If it was mine, I would opt for a corresponding module of 4 GB and do with it.

HP PartSurfer does not list the SK Hynix 4 G 1Rx8 PC3L 12800 S-11-13 - B4.  Another curious point, the specs list 6 GB installed. It would be a 4 GB and 2 GB modules.

I m not very well, but I think that Intel WiDi version which is part of the TV does not support the Miracast. The TV is in 2012 and the Miracast was announced in 2013

To my knowledge the Intel new Wireless Display v3.5 support Miracast.
The first versions of Intel WiDi does not support the Miracast.
