4340 proBook s: no internet access on starts but is fixed when I then do a restart

It is a long-standing problem and I tried many things to fix it without success. When I turn on my laptop, it connects to a wireless modem no problem but said that I did not have internet access. When I go through the process of doing a reboot - it fixes the problem.

The problem is my laptop and not the router that I encounter the same problem with 3 different routers at different locations.

Please can someone help me because this 2 step upward departure is such a nuisance and takes more time to use my laptop every time I use it

AWESOME sound worked and solved the problem. I got uodated prior network adapter and there no fux it.

Perhaps the update is necessary.

It is, thank you for taking the time to answer my question and your expertise

  • 'No Internet access' after reboot, but OK after cold start.

My system has been restarted after a recent update of Windows, and although the Internet connection worked the status icon in the system tray showed the yellow triangle and "No Internet access." The State of the network has been "Identification." (This is a wired connection). When I tried to restart, shutdown took a lot of time and the system blue screened.

When I started the system again, it worked OK. However, at each reboot later, I have the same problem and after each cold start, it's OK. On subsequent reboots, I notice that the Internet connection ends, and then returns to identify, even if the connection actually works.

  • Internet access (W - Lan) but the symbol in the taskbar looks as if it was searcheing

I have access to the internet (W - Lan), but shows the symbol in the taskbar on the right side of the bottom of the screen that I havn't. All beams of force field are grayed out and the little sun is visible, as the system does when it searches for a network connection. As said, I have access, but the symbol seems strange, as it is looking for a W - Lan net.

Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of community of Microsoft.

    1. use Windows Wireless Management or another Manager?
    2. don't you make changes to the computer before the show?

Follow the steps and check if that helps:
    a. click on Start menu and enter regedit in the search bar and press ENTER.

    b. go to:

    Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify HKEY_CURRENT_USER

    c. remove the following key data in this folder:

    IconStreams

    LastAdvertisement

    PastIconsStream

    PromotedIconCache

    UserStartTime

    d. open the Task Manager.

    Switch to the processes tab.

    Kill all the process explorer.exe

(This is necessary because the explorer.exe has a copy backup of this key in RAM and rewritten it in the registry during shutdown)

Switch to the applications tab of Task Manager.

    Press "new task".

    Type "explorer.exe" and press [Enter].

  • How to block Internet access to all but a few IP addresses or domains?

We would like to set up a Windows 7 PC for online banking. The machine will only be used for this purpose. A browser, probably IE, must be able to connect to the Web site of a bank online banking, so that ACH and wire transfers can be initiated. We have a few additional connections necessary for security and essential services to run properly (for example Trusteer report, a security suite, Windows Update?). But we want to block connections to/from everything so no other type of web browsing, e-mail or other type of network access is possible. We thought that doing so through the Windows Firewall or the snap-snap-in MMC to advanced security seemed way to go, but this configuration correctly so that it works as expected is not exactly obvious or simple for novices.
There are also block USB ports. Would disable us all, but we have the keyboard / mouse to work! We don't want no users unplug the mouse and plug it in USB thumb drives. The less elegant solution for locking already locked box in another box locked for physical access to the external USB ports are blocked.

Two things to look at would be to run it through a server proxy to restrict access to the Internet and use a white list and the issuance of USB you can watch the fact with a GPO.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello laughingpaws,

To help resolve this issue, use the System File Checker (SFC.exe) tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, right-click guest, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER: sfc/scannow sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

I recently bought a used laptop and cannot get wirelless internet access. Its a HP Pavilion and I am able to access the internet if I use the LAN, but not via the wireless connection. • On PIX 501 6.3 intermittent Internet access (5)

    Hello

I have a problem of access to the Internet from the local network behind a PIX 501. It worked for months, but suddenly, I discovered that Internet access is intermittent. Internet access works for about 10-15 minutes and then goes down. When I reboot the firewall or disable ARP Internet works again. I turn on debugging with 'debug arp' and I get an error message "arp-in: Dropping request outside the unsolicited nonadjacent ROUTEOUTSIDE 0002.cf69.50cf for 82.x.137.x 0000.0000.0000»

Any ideas on what could be the problem?

    Thank you for your help.

    Kind regards.

Hello, Couple of things to check.

You have ICMP permitted on the external interface of the PIX. If so, can ask you someone to ping from the internet to the external IP address.

When they ping, can you unplug the external interface and see if they receive a response in return.

If so, then there is a problem with the access provider. They could give your IP address to another person.

If this isn't the issue, then you open a TAC case and resolve this problem.

    See you soon,.

  • C4580 install disables the XP firewall and internet access for 3 minutes at the start of the PC

After installing C4580, when I turn on my Dell Inspiron C510m, XP tells me that the firewall is disabled, I can't access to the internet or even my router nor can I use the Applets in Control Panel that could help me sort these things. After 3 minutes, the Firewall WARNING disappears and everything is fine, but none of the updates antivirus and software update checks performed and I have to perform these tasks manually. The printer works fine, but it worries me that this behavior indicates a potential vulnerability - it's like something kept the door open to let the unpleasant things in the computer. Uninstall the HP software solves the problem, and he re - install it reminds me once again. There is something hanging in a HP driver at startup?

    PeterM

I found the answer to this one, if anyone is interested, even if the solution required a work-around on the way. Suggested HP support I have just uninstall and install software downloaded from their site (PS_AIO_04_C4500_USW_Full_Win_enu_120_210.exe). This indeed solve, and another problem I had (see network & Wireless forum), but this download is missing the software package I.R.I.S. OCR, presumably for reasons associated with 3 rd-party lisensing. HP support insisted that this download was the OCR, but the OCR .exe is certainly missing. Workaround needed to go back and re - install the CD software, then uninstall everything except the OCR package (you can do), then install the downloaded version. My PC still takes too long to start, but it's probably the combined effect of each software package, I never installed wanting home phone so that it loads.

  • Windows 7 starter, no internet access, WPA2 Enterprise Network

I use an Asus EeePC for the first time to work.  I replace my ibook apple that I had no problem with in the past. I entered the correct name for the network.  has selected WPA2-Enterprise, AES encriptación.  Using the PEAP authentication.  After entering my user domain\username and password, I connect to the network, but when I look at the network he says no internet access.  I can see my internal network and the computers.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi Kbpipes,

First check the edition of Windows 7 installed on your computer, since you mentioned that you use the Windows 7 starter edition. Windows 7 starter edition will not be able to join the domain network. To join the domain network, you will need to install either Windows 7 Professional, ultimate edition.

Access the link below to learn more about the field of Assembly.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/domain-join

To verify which edition of Windows 7 is installed on your computer, follow the steps below.

    1. Click Start.
    2. Right-click on computer and click Properties.
    3. Check the information on your computer.

However, you try to run the troubleshooter from network built into windows 7 and check if it can help solve you the problem of connection to the Internet.

Access the link below and follow the steps.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-the-network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

You can also try to temporarily disable the security software of the computer and try to connect to the Internet. If you are able to connect to the Internet, you can contact the manufacturer of security software and check if you need to change the settings. Later, re-enable the security software.

Also, you can try to start the computer in safe mode with network and check if you can connect to the Internet. To boot to the desktop in safe mode with network keep tapping key F8 during restart. Once you see the option to start it in safe mode with select network and press ENTER.

Access the link to learn more about how to start the computer in safe mode: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

You can also contact your network administrator and check if there are settings that must be changed or configured to access the Internet.

Post back with the above information and let us know the result.

    Thank you and best regards,

  • Firefox starts, but cannot access any website.same issue is experienced with Chrome, not Explorer

Hello, I have a problem with surfing with Firefox. The browser starts but cannot access any Web site. The same question is experienced with Google Chrome. However, Internet Explorer works smoothly. Thank you

Some problems occurs when your Internet security program has been implemented.
trust the previous version of Firefox, but not more acknowledges your
update as being approved. Now how do I solve the problem: to allow
Firefox to connect to the Internet

    • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (for example, you are using the latest version).
    • Delete Firefox to list your program of programs approved or recognized. For detailed instructions, see

    Configure the firewall so that Firefox can access the Internet. {web link}

  • no internet access at el capitan

Mac Pro with El Capitan. No Internet access with any browser, but I can access the Internet using the recovery system (this is what I now use to access the site of discussion). Already verify permissions and fix them with disk utility. Other Mac connected to the same router (Apple) can access the Internet without problem.

It seems I have to re - install El Capitan. Fix?

How you access the Internet? Wired or wireless? Do you have a good IP address? (Note that the one that starts with 169.254 is NOT good.) What about the access with something else outside of a browser, such as the Mail app? Other devices on your local network can access the Internet?

    Good luck.
