  I have a specific question to ask: If you turn off your connection Wireless button wireless for laptop hp (physical button on the top of the keyboard), after windows restarts wlan stay off or back on?  I ask because I advised someone to turn off wifi in this way using the ethernet cable and would like to know if it is right. I do not know the specific model, I think is a compaq it a few years ago.   Recently, I bought a 4540 probook s. everything is fine and I just have a problem with its bluetooth. I can't send anything to my laptop via bluetooth. my phone is successfully added to my bluetooth devices & I can send files from the laptop to my phone, but nothing happens when I try to send items to my phone to the laptop. BTW, no error message is shown to me.

  I got 4540 probook s who has windows 8 Pro 64 bit and I have the following problem - I see 4 components that are not recodnized and does not have the proper drivers. I downloaded all the drivers available on hp.com but the problem still remains.

  Updated the BIOS

  It is the opinion of the Expert that you shouldn't depend on HP Support AWizard when it comes to BIOS updates.

  According to other factors in the system at the time when the HPSA trying to hit your system with an update of this type; the results could be... other than expected.

  You can set 'Notification' HPSA to prevent it from trying to update your BIOS.

  DON'T update the BIOS when you see an update in your Web page of the computer AND that this update can be used to provide a fix for a problem that you have discovered in your system.  In other words: If your computer is happy, do not update the BIOS just because you think it would be a good thing to do.

  If you decide to update your BIOS

  • Make sure that ALL backups are up-to-date and complete - this means that everything you need to restore the system in case something goes wrong.
  • Understand that even when you do everything exactly right, you can end up with a bricked computer, that is an expensive paper weight.
  • Make sure you have at least your critical data on some form of external backup.
  • Unplug the USB drives and other useless material.  Desktop keyboard and mouse can stay connected.
  • Always run power cable to update the BIOS, never on the laptop battery
  • Touch the system during the update is underway
  • Optional: Leave wireless ONbutton. You could turn off the router to ensure that there is no interruption.

  If you still get into trouble, see: restore the BIOS

  My laptop that I liked for the time I got it, so a pretty good personal camera all-round.

  However as I just realized, the processor isn't quite cut. For these unfimilair with this product, it's Intel Core i7-4702MQ CPU @ 2.20 GHz. Which is decent except the Gigahertz.

  And as I came to learn, the BIOS Overclocking locked so my question to you is if I can overclock my processor in anyway eventually (even with a cost?). I'd give perfer to keep this laptop as it has a 16gbs of ram and a decent graphics card!

  My loan last year machine was a HP ENVY 17 t-j100 Leap Motion SE Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR) (t for machine CTO). My current loan machine is also a HP Envy 17 t wGen 5 CPU and best card NVIDIA but no movement of jump. They are great machines. But for overclocking, you need to buy any other kind of laptop, the Envy series will not support it.

  Hey everybody. This is my first question! Yay!

  Anywho, I have an ongoing annoying problem. Whenever I turn on my PC, Wi - Fi is disabled. I have to manually press the power button to re-enable wireless. I am currently running Windows 7 Professional on a HP G70t laptop.

  After I press the turn wireless on button, everything works fine. It's just when I restart my PC when wireless is disabled. Any advice?

  So to conclude my problem, I found a solution.

  Aparently, my network card has been disabled by Windows to save energy. I disabled, and now a WLAN Access starts successfully.

  Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read on your keyboard keys do not update on your HP laptop - 15-r138nl. You could try in the Control Panel, clock, language and region, language, click on advanced settings in the left pane. In the advanced settings, click Change Language bar hot keys.
  In text Services and input languages, click Change Key Sequence button and select the key sequence.

  Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that may be missing or not up-to-date.
