• X 250 and HDD disappears

  Hi all

  I have random problem with BSOD with Windows 10 X 250 races.

  The BSOD error may vary and is not probably important (Windows encountered problem.., kernel_inpage_error, critical_process_died etc., would not a precise formulation of BSOD). The memory dump is never created, or whatever it is is saved in the windows EventViewer until the next boot.

  I discovered this problem is that system HDD (SAMSUN SSD MZ7LN256HCHP - 000 L 7) gets disconnected (or turned off?) and this causes the BSOD.

  I played with the power option bit and at one point I could simulate the issue with setting in power Option-> "disable the hard disk after." But this does not completely solve the problem. I disabled this option and still get the BSOD at random even on AC. I don't want everything to complete (every power option).

  So before I go contact Lenovo for repair, known someone the similar problem? I think there might be question of motherboard, SATA cable, or disk Samsung SSD.

  I tried the system check Lenovo (bios app) tests of motherboard, hard drive, memory etc. No problem. I tried windows tool to check drive... everything is good. The installation is new (like a week ago I installed Windows 10). Unfortunately I am not the first owner and I don't know if the problem was with Win8.1 also. So it could be a power rating of 10 Windows (although I do not belive it much). I checked that I have all the latest drivers... check on Lenovo side as well as the Intel site.

  So did anyone experienced a similar problem with their X 250? No idea what I could try it too? I would like to exchange the HARD drive, but I'm afraid I might lose the warranty if I opent the laptop?

  I found the reason (probably):

  I changed to another SSD HARD drive and the system worked well. Then I remembered that I forgot something on the original HARD disk and replace the original HARD disk. I let it run for a while (no time to go out again) system and still had no problem since the switch. I also reinstalled OS, tested with different Powerprofile, put a load on the HARD disk or let him sleep... still everything is ok.

  I think that this problem was with cable or contact with SSD or the motherboard.

  I do not notice any issue (cable), so maybe it's something inside the cable. No idea. but it works...

  First, you should check the properties of the HARD drive. You can also do in under Computer Management disk management.
  Should there have listed everything on the external HARD drive.
  You could further format the disk with NTFS and check if it of possible to copy this file again.

  Hello, the computer I have has the same when I first bought, error messages all the time, very slow, etc.

  I got a disk with my computer when I first bought, so I'm not sure how to format and start over. I don't want anyone to try to talk me out of it, it's really nothing important and it's all I have saved and printed licenses (xp, office 2003, avg).  I would like just a way to start over.  I heard that if maufacturers you do not send a disc that came with your computer there is a way to do it on the machine.

  I have a problem with my laptop M30-241 and the new hard drive.

  After an error with my old 40 GB HARD drive, I changed HDD WD 2500BEVE 250 GB.

  The correct name of the HARD drive in the bios Setup.
  My bios version is 1.7 but only 137 GB of available space.

  I searched for a new version of the bios, but without success.

  Maybe someone can give me an opinion/advice?

  Perhaps the BIOS doesn't support the 250 GB HDD it is possible given that not all HARD drive sizes are supported!
  I think that the update of the BIOS (if possible) would not solve this too.

  I'm 99.9% sure that you can use this disk, but in my opinion you should spend it with HARD drive with more capacity. I think 200 or even 250 GB should work just fine with your laptop satellite.

  I know that European Satellite A200 is supported up to 250 GB HDD.

  Generally 4K drives are no problem for the computer but Windows XP doesn t supports this. So you must use Vista or better Windows 7 with advanced format HDDs.  ;)

  Just replaced 250 gig hdd on tosh c650 with a 500 GB hitachi hard drive, reinstalled windows 7 on a tosh disk recovery and get implemented windows could not configure windows to run on this computer material followed by windows could not complete the installation message.

  Tried reloading windows two times, no joy. I'm not that computer savy if someone could help me sort or the disc is not compatible?

  Usually, you should be able to use the recovery disk to install the Toshiba on another HDD image

  But in my experience there is sometimes a problem using this recovery disk if the new HARD disk drive has a different storage size.

  One of the reasons that could come from this format of HARD drive recovery disk and create new partitions. The defined recovery disk HARD drive to factory settings and creates the same partitions that were available on the old HDD.

  If this is the reason for this problem, I advise to use the Microsoft Windows disk rather than the Toshiba recovery disc.

  10.7.5 lion, Mountain Lion is 10.8.5, so I'm not sure whether you are planning an upgrade to. Regardless, 8 GB of RAM should be plenty to run either of these versions.

• Why Fx 28 is pretty darn slow very recently compared to IE10 and Crome33?

  I use Fx from eight last year and it has never been slow. But now I am experiencing Fx 28 (updated almost a month back) to be pretty slow since last week. I am using Windows 7 32 bit, 2 GB RAM (250 GB HDD) computer. Other web browser like IE10 and Chrome 33 are uber fast to search the Web while Fx 28 maintains loading of web pages forever (I tried mozila.org, google.com, yahoo.com , etc.). To counter this problem, I have 'disabled' or 'request to activate' all plug-ins (such as Shockwave Flash and Shockwave for Director, JAVA etc.) but it did not help iota of this problem. I scanned my computer with Malware-bytes and good suite AV did not show anything unusual with the system. I have searched the Mozilla support forum and tried other options as well as clearing web cache, use hardware acceleration (check and uncheck), using Fx in safemode, private mode etc and nothing worked. I don't want to switch to another browser just like that so would solve this problem as soon as POSSIBLE.

  I reinstalled Fx and unchecked option "enable firfox health report" on the tab "data selection". I don't know what happened but now it does not work (although slow). May be some add-on screwed by updating Fx last time. But I don't know why it took nearly a month to have consequences on Fx.

  Still, I would love to have a quick and light Fx on my system that I got a month back.

  I have a Macbook Pro 13 2015 with the Retina display. I plug in December. It has the most recent update of El Capitan (OSX 10.11.4). I have 91.8 GB of free space on the SSD drive. Around a month ago, freezes bad has started to happen. Frost occur generally when I'm browsing Safari, I do not know if it has nothing to do with YouTube videos, but maybe it's interesting to note that I usually have a tab open in Safari that's YouTube when it happens (but not always). Today, I already had 2 freezes, before one arrived, I read an article and it happened (a YouTube tab was open in Safari, however, the video did not play for the moment when frost arrived). The second time, watched a YouTube video, and freezing that happened when I clicked on the time bar to make the video at a specific time. Frost usually occurs when I interact with something like that, opening of a new video in YouTube (such as clicking a recommendation of video on the right panel), or interact with the video itself. Note, after I restarted the computer, the previous video is one which opens in Safari, if frost has occurred during playback of the video which freezes just after I started playing.

  However, it is not only Safari which can cause freezing. There was a specific case, when I looked at the images in the Photos app. There were many of them, and I pressed the arrow left and right to navigate through them. Then he suddenly freezes the whole system, couldn't get out of the application or anything. Such a freeze is really bad, I can't interact with the computer somehow, the mouse cursor freezes, time freezes in the status bar, no Cmd + space for Spotlight, no physical reaction buttons whatsoever. Only option is to wait a few minutes (in order to clearly identify the process before and during the system failure in the newspaper), and then press and hold the power button until the machine stops.

  I thought first of all it is a software problem, I did a complete reinstallation of the system (formatted the SSD drive, downloaded Yosemite, then upgraded to El Capitan, once again). I had 2 weeks of calm, but today it happened again (2 times so far). I share the newspaper of queries system log: all messages. The last frost that happened at 13:31, and I waited until 13:37 to restart the computer. If I'm not able to detect the problem, I think I'll try to return this product, because I think that it is unacceptable for a machine that costly to freeze the whole system and lost unsaved process in Word or whatever it is.

• Satellite A200-28R - new 500 GB HARD drive not recognized

  Hi all!

  The BIOS cannot recognize my new 500 GB SATA HARD drive. When I connect it to the laptop, BIOS says "No device" in the drive options. Tried jumper allows you to change the interface of disc HARD SATA-1, but without effect.
  How can I force the BIOS to recognize?

  BIOS version: Phoenix v.2.60 for Vista
  HARD drive: Seagate 500 GB 7200 RPM SATA

  Have you tried the drive in another computer?

  Maybe your new drive HARD isn t working properly or defective so use another rnotebook to test it or request a replacement HARD drive.

• Satellite M45 - does not start after restoration on the new HARD drive

  I installed a new PATA 250 GB HDD on my pc. The BIOS is configured to boot from CD/DVD. Toshiba Recovery disk started cold, start follow-up statement to load a new system on the HARD drive. He made a (quick) format on the HARD drive, spent 50 minutes, copy the files from the CD to the new HARD drive. Followed the instructions to remove the CD and reboot the pc. Did. I get the Toshiba homepage for 2-3 seconds, and then I get a white screen with a white block cursor in the upper corner of the LH of the screen. Looks like it does not find the block on the HARD disk?
  The procedure of collection 3 times with the same results. Checked the BIOS to check that it is configured to boot from the HARD disk after installation.

  The recovery CD is blank. Never used because I bought the PC (3.5 years). Put the new HARD drive in a USB enclosure and formatted with Windows, tried again with the same result? Put the old HDD, PC starts and works very well. Put the live CD Knoppix and boot from that, works very well. See the new HARD drive.

  Thus, any suggestions are appreciated. The recovery CD Toshiba is defective? In any case to test?

  Sounds like a problem with the recovery disk or the new HARD disk if your computer starts up fine with the old HARD drive...

  In your case before you start a lengthy discussion, you should try a Microsoft Windows disk to install Windows. If he work it seems that only the recovery disk is defective.

  Otherwise, the HARD disk must be defective. Maybe a bad sector or something else
