#57 cartridge prints 'Martian child' on coated paper...

I have a problem with the #57 lights cartridges in my printer PhotoSmart 7550.

And I use the new HP cartridges - not refills.

With the last two #57 cartridges, whenever I try to print a picture on paper, using the "Automatic" print setting, the flesh tones are w-a-a-a-y off - so my reference "Martian child".  The skin tones look enough tinged with green and sometimes tinged with yellow.

If I choose "Plain paper" as parameter (but still not to print on coated paper), the colors are very well - BUT he too inks coated paper.

Since I use again #57 and refills, it's extremely annoying.  And of course unacceptable.

This printer has always been wonderfully reliable.  Since I can get the 'good' color of the cartridge by printing on paper or in "cheating it", am I right in thinking that the problem is with the printer and not the cartridge?  In both cases, what can I do to fix this?

Bmax says:

The #58 cartridge was more ink for some time.  I have not replaced #58 it has been quite a long time because I need to do the photo-critique work and had the impression that the only time where he would question.  that is, if I was OK with photos 'okay', only 58 # would be useless.  I'm wrong about this?

The problem would be a vacuum #58?  I feel (maybe very mistaken) of #58 was that it was necessary only when you wanted 'than photographic sheen"on the finished result.  Or that actually affects the overall color?

OK, the problem is the #58 void.  If a #58 cartridge is installed in the printer it will serve to clear areas of cyan, light magenta and dark when a photo paper (or maybe some other special media) are selected or detected.  The #58 cartridge is not used in plain paper printing.  The cartrdige #58 provides less grain printing clear areas like the sky or a facial tones.

It's been a while since I used this printer, but I remember correctly, is that the printer automatically use 'reserve mode' If you simply remove the empty cartridge from #58.  It uses the cartridge #57 for the printing of the photo, which should give better results than print photo with an empty #58.

  • Print settings Pro - 10 - you can print edge to edge on paper Fine Art?

I have a printer Canon Pro-10. We know that in the printer settings if you set the Type of media to a fine arts paper then the driver applies a margin of 30mm printing. So if you try to print from Lightroom, but have margins of 10 mm, it refuses to print until you change something.

Now I can get around this by setting the media type on a photo paper so I could print the edge on a paper fine art.

    My question is;

I can set the paper size in the Page Setup dialog box, I color managed by Lightroom and I actually use the right ICC profile for the paper and printing, this media Type setting does nothing with regard to printing? I printed some impressions on canvas and I see no difference in print quality?

Control color ICC profile. Media type controls how the ink is expected. It has been my experience that as long as you select a similar surface types everything comes out fine.

If you use AirPrint, the default printer for the photo for a photo paper tray. Your best option is to use the application of e-Print HP - with this application, you can select the paper size and source.

  • HP3520 (all-in-one) does not print all images on photo paper, cut up.

Using Mac OS 10, paper photo 4 x 6 printer configured using same-size paper. Image is printed OK, but 1 cm high, or so are cut. A few reasons why this is happening?

    Thank you

Thanks a lot for your answer.

Indeed, while trying to print another 4 x 6 to copy on you, the printer worked well and there was no cropping at the two ends of the photo.

I think the original problem must have been caused by pulling is not the paper tray around before inserting paper photo 4 x 6. I think that I could not have made sure that the document was just behind. Because this time I used the tray properly and printing came out fine. I can't think of any other cause.

  • HP LaserJet P1102 cannot print both sides of the paper

I updated my Windows 8 Windows 8.1 and now I can't print both sides of the paper.

In my old Windows 8 my printer HP LaserJet P1102 printed the odd sides of the document, then a pop-up window appears and when I click on the 'next' botton and submit the documents to the printer printed the sides of the document. After that the Windows update in the context menu does not appear, so the printer simply prints the odd sides and then nothing happens (just the red flashing on the printer).

I tried to update the driver (downloaded from your site), but nothing has changed.

I hope that you can add some useful tips and I can solve this huge problem.

    Thank you!

    Hello

I understand that you can print is more on both sides.

When the light flashes try and open and close the lid to see if continues to print.

(there is no button for the printer but which will resume print jobs)

I would do a complete uninstall and reinstall the printer software to see if that makes a difference.

  • When you print a photo on Matt paper

When you use a laser (vs inkjet) printer, are improvements in color on paper matte paper/paper looks?

    MFJ

    HIA Trains1985,

I'll try to help with this

"" I need to ask a question first of all please - rather than are the improvements, do you mean "are there of improvements"

I'll answer as if that is the question, ask yourself if you'll see improvements by changing the paper, well you might, please read on

you mention also pass to Matt/paper card, but not if it is a 'best' stock that you use now?

I'll answer as if you may have about moving from an improved stock, normally a more expensive. In some cases, you can see the improvements, see below:

There is a question of color and barely tonal in the press here, you can't choose any old paper or cardstock, [no matter] just and expect the exact tone and color (to match a decent screen calibrated fairly well). It COULD, it COULD No.

IF the paper stock or card you choose is properly supported by the manufacturer of printers ([i.e. He is listed there in the settings of the printer / media section of the driver software], and then, if you choose a stock better than your paper from day to day, you will see probably more color range (wider, more saturation) and better tone and detail.) Reasonable and color tone I hope.

I'm a guy of color management and recommend generally a user start on this type of research by tests using an image known good source, you can download mine at www.colourmanagement.net on the downloads page. [colourmanagement.net is spelled English/Canadian way ;-)]. This composite image was designed to include the so-called "memory colors" This means a little "know you" if they are far away.

For this test please start with the feel of a paper or a card that is listed in the [ printer settings] printer driver software and with the Photoshop print window the value "printer manages color."

Printer manufacturers go to much effort to papers which are suitable with their equipment and do the driver options to give good results. Sometimes this does not work, but today it is normally quite acceptable. Then, it will be a reference what to expect of your printer.

SO how do you move forward-

1: open the image in Photoshop (or lightroom) - the uploaded image looks OK on the screen? i.e. the skintones are natural. Greys neutral tonal range OK? etc.

2: makes an impression look 'right' [and may match the screen]. Make sure you only print on a piece of paper that listed in the [printer settings] print drivers software and it is selected as a 'media' and with the Photoshop print window the value "printer manages color".

  • PCL5 printing codes to turn off paper tray switching when the tray is in the paper

We have a HP P4015n with 3 trays, tray we letterhead, tray 2 has plain paper, tray 3 preprinted forms (all dimensions 8.5 "x 11" paper ").  This is related to a Linux system with printing from a legacy software - they are mainly text documents that have integrated the PCL control codes.

The problem, when a drawer is empty, print will continue to the next state bar, which can have a header of letter or preprinted form, etc.

Can I turn off automatic tray switching?  Either using a code printer PCL or via the printer control panel?

If I print on tray 3, this tray is empty, I want the printer to wait until the tray has paper once again and do not use a different tray.

I played a bit with the 'document type' (letterhead, pre-printed form, etc.) setting found on the built-in printer web page, but when I send a job there, the printer needs someone to hit the 'OK' on the printer. I guess that the printer is looking for the paper incorporated in the corresponding document type.  Is there a print PCL code for that?

I have done research on PCL5 printer control codes and can not find, or another command.

    Thanks for any help,

    This should help you:

On the other hand moving up to the next plateau, depends on the printer.  Some let not work continue to the next bar if the paper type is defined differently, but it is more common that the printer will just continue.  The only solution I have found is when big jobs you know will exceed capacity of the tray should just make sure that the right paper is in all stores.  The other thing is too, to keep the full trays (just make sure to put the fresh paper under the paper that is in the status bar to reduce interference issues).

I am including the link to the history of PCL/PJL because inside under the additional Documentation, it links to PDFs of the technical manuals detailing everything that you could ever want to know about hand coding for printing using these languages:
