5Div Canon RAW

Anyone know when the 5Div Cannon camera RAW is displayed?

I have the shiny new 5Div and look at the files through the visualizer Canon garbage!

Thank you

It will "probably" be included in the next version of camera raw. Adobe announced never in advance when the updates. Take note that the latest raw camera will be compatible with the latest version of Photoshop Elements and Photoshop CC 2015.

  • Canon RAW files failure of compatibility (80 d EOS) CC (LR & PS)

Does anyone have experience with Canon RAW produced by the 80 d EOS files imported into LR or PS (Adobe CC).

I have the experience that the LR and PS are the quality of the RAW files and they get Grainy/Noisy and also the colors seem to lose something.

I don't do RAW and JPG pictures and when you use LR or PS RAW files are very grainy/noisy and I was not even able to reproduce the colors I get the JPG in PS and LR. In the specific case, I got the yellow was missing in RAW format and also disappeared from the histogram, when I turned on the correction of the lens (although the correction of the objective has not changed color in the image on the screen).

When I open the RAW and JPG in Digital Photo teacher (Canon DPP) reveal the RAW and JPG about similar and nothing like the grainy/noisy result of LR and PS appears.

I had Adobe support (which means a technician has been on my PC for about an hour), but although the problem seems less than before, it is always the case.   The technician actually had the problem that it was not able to judge the adhering when working remotely.

I feel there is a problem here with the most recent CR2 produced by EOS80D camera raw compatibility.

    Anyone having the same problems?

    RESPS are presented:

Hi Louis, I had a go at the image of the bird and was able to make a little sharper and more detailed than the jpg.

Rather than make my own interpretation of the image, I tried to match the jpg (apart from the color of the sky).

See screenshot below 1:1. (click to enlarge)

First, I went in the camera calibration Panel and set the Standard camera profile, making the colors of the bird very similar in jpg format. The sky match, perhaps because of some settings in the camera, I don't know.

The basic settings are then defined like this:

Sharpening and noise reduction have been set as follows:

Let's start with the noise reduction.

There was a bit of color noise in the image (very visible in the jpg and improved due to the overall sharpness). LR's default settings for color noise it deleted completely.

There are still some luminance noise, which I somewhat reduced by setting the Luminance at 20. It could be reduced even further, but if exaggerated, it will lead to a quick glance "plasticky", digital.

The key to sharpening parameter is masking. It protects the flat (like the sky) areas of sharpening and effectively sharpens the details only.

Set to 0 it sharpen everything, put 100 he sharpen only the most distinct details. I regularly use a setting of 50 or more for all my work. You can hold down the Alt key while dragging the slider to see the effect. Black areas are protected, the white areas are sharp. The mask created visible sharpening halos around the bird and looks a bit worse than the jpg in this regard.

Unlike PS, there is unfortunately no way to blur or sharpen an edge in LR.

Always use 1:1 view during the application and evaluation of reduction of noise and sharpening, any other point of view will be inaccurate and misleading due to resizing the image.

Finally, I have checked the corrections profile activate in the lens corrections Panel, which corrects the heavy vignetting in the image.

You can see how dark corners are in the jpg file in the screenshot below.

It is also a good idea to check to remove the chromatic aberration.

EU LR4.4, 80 d canon raw file will not open?

    Hi Andrewc,

In order to open the files from Canon 80 d you need Lightroom 6.5.

Please see the following link for a list of devices supported by Lightroom: supported by Adobe Camera Raw devices

Or you can convert Camera Raw files to DNG using the DNG Converter and then import the files into Lightroom.

I used DNG in the past with no problems but I have a new PC and running windows 10 and he would not consider my files RAW Canon cameras for some reason any. What am I doing wrong or it is not compatible with windows 10.

Thanks, I use PLR, but I wanted to convert using DNG. It is all sorted now

HELP, I tried for three days to get my Lightroom to read my a G3X Canon RAW files.   I have version 5.71 with Camera Raw 8.7.1 Lightroom and Photoshop version 13.0.1 with plugin Raw control 9.1.1 no Adobe seems interested to help me.  I have spent a lot of money on CS6, but since you walked toward the Cloud CC you neglected thin clients I.   Please, Please HELP.

    [removed phone number by...] MOD]

    Hi Ken graves,

    Apologies for the inconvenience.

The minimum version of camera for Canon G3 X access files is 9.1.1 However, last camera raw update for Lightroom 5.7.1 was 8.7.1.

Thus, you would not be able to access these raw files in Lightroom.

For Lightroom, you can switch to Lightroom 6 or download DNG Converter to convert these images to DNG and then access in Lightroom.

For Photoshop CS6, you should be able to access raw Canon G3 X images as CS6 version supports them.

Make sure all your plugin for Photoshop CS6 camera raw.

You can upgrade from this link: Camera Raw of Adobe Photoshop CC and CS6 Installer

    Kind regards

Adobe sector support Canon RAW in After Effects?

I make timelapses.  I class in Lightroom, create some xmps, and then drag the folder that contains the CR2s and xmps of the Finder window in After Effects to create the sequence.

I've been post-processing timelapses in After Effects on April 7, 2014.  Then, I get a notification to update Camera Raw 8.4.0.199.  I closed all the apps and updated.  Once the update finished, I have opened the same project in After Effects, to find that After Effects supports most CR2 (Canon RAW).

Does not work with old projects containing CR2, even impossible to import files from the Finder by clicking and dragging, window or otherwise.   Can not even a single CR2 to import a file into After Effects since the update.

  • Question about Canon Raw to DNG format convert

I'm looking for help with the Canon RAW files to DNG conversion.  I plan to migrate storage of DNG files to keep having to carry the sidecar autour files.  At the beginning of the year to use the Adobe raw conversion utility, I notice the image is changed and would like to know if this is typical or if I'm doing something wrong.  I have attached two screenshots that show the original raw photo and the histogram and the converted file and the obvious compressed histogram.  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

The actual conversion to DNG does not change the raw data. I suspect that what you see is maybe a default rendering in your application? Impossible to say what you use of the screenshot.

  • Display of the 70 d Microsoft OneDrive and Canon RAW files problem

    Hello guys,.

I have a Canon 450 d and I was really surprised that my RAW files (*.) CR2) were posted on Microsoft OneDrive without making a JPG files.

    It's really cool!

A few weeks ago, I get my new Canon 70 d.
I download my RAW files (*.) CR2 also) on OneDrive and the file does not appear.

Simply put, you will find two files here:

    http://1drv.Ms/1qvndZW

I have all ready ask for support on their forum: here

But they ask me to ask you...

By chance, has Cannon changed their. Format of files CR2 that explain Microsoft must update their "converter"?

Thanks in advance for your time!

If you want a OneDrive space, you can use my referral link or Bing OneDrive ;-)

Camera RAW is more of a 'concept' as a specific standard.   The idea behind a RAW file, is that the unloaded data in the chip will not be altered in a way that results in a loss of original data.

JPEG images using a compression algorithm "with losses" that standardize data when the differences are so subtle as your eye probably would not have noticed the difference.  But when images are adjusted, subtle differences can be "stretched" and the loss of the original data can affect the ability to adjust the image later and still get good results.

BUT... as all the cameras may have a sensor of difference, at different resolutions, etc. the method necessary to decode a RAW file and display the image may be different literally on a model by model basis.  When you work with RAW files, you must always the specific codec that very model camera... not just "any". CR2 codec will work.  It is the same with all other brands of cameras as well.

Microsoft does not include updates to camera RAW in the default value of the OS updates that you can apply to your computer on a regular basis (Apple made... every two months, I get a camera RAW update and if I read the notes, it will have a list of the new camera models on the market for which they have added RAW support).    But Microsoft DOES make the FIRST available updates... they are just not automatic.  Go download and install them.

See this link on the Microsoft Web site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2899189

If you look to the bottom of the page on this link, you will notice a list of cameras why they added RAW support and Canon 70 d is among them.
