5s - 1126 slimline computer for office

computer does not start, green power when push start button & fan made a few turns then stops. I just replaced the power supply for the 3rd time!  What's next?

Hello artnotcompute,

The fact that you have changed the power supply for the third time is the big hand on what might happen in your pc.

It is almost certain that food has nothing to do with the problem at hand

Something that begins after the power supply lights stops feeding.

An internal or external device that is powered by the power supply is defective and your best way to know is by a process of elimination.

The first step would be to disconnect any external devices and try to turn on the pc.

If the pc turns on and stays on with all external devices disconnected an external device is defective and causing the power turn off. Reconnect one at a time to locate the faulty unit.

If the problem persists, you can now disconnect all internal devices that draw the power supply as hard drives, cd/dvd rom drive, etc.

The motherboard must be left connected to the start.

If the pc turns on and stays on with internal devices disconnected from the internal devices is defective and causing the power turn off. Reconnect one at a time and check.

If the pc shuts off with the only connected motherboard the motherboard itself is defective!

It seems a lot of work but I hope it helps.

    Brian, welcome to the forum.

I can't give you a good explanation for the problems you are having.  It is probably a bug in the software.  I had very similar problems when using Windows Update.  Do not install the updates without apparent reason.

Here is the Official Site for HPSA.  I have suggrest by downloading and installing the latest version.  You must uninstall the current version before you start.  I'd be happy to hear the result.

Your terms "Extended Desktop" are ambiguous, as you have not provided sufficient details with your question.

The correct terminology is "Desktop Extension" or "Desktop covering.  It is important to note that these are two things a little different.  Fully answer your question, it is necessary to describe the differences.

Others that by activating the special modes provided by the specific video drivers on the special cards, Windows 7 does not support Desktop covering.  The WDDM (Windows Display Driver Model) for Windows 7 does not have The Extension Office.

The Extension Office differs from Office covering that with Extenstion Desktop games will not mode "full screen" on all screens.  Also, you will see the taskbar on only one of the monitors, and will maximize demand for only the full monitor on which it resides when you press the expand button.  However, it is possible to resize a window on multiple monitors.  Also, it hosts capabilities and monitors of different resolutions.

Apart from the games and their preferences for the maximization of the app, Desktop Extension is very useful.

According to me, is it possible to use The Extension Office - a collection of video equipment - extend your Windows 7 Desktop in any number of monitors, although I have only used it with two monitors myself.

    -Christmas

P.S. on the chances that your question is about a desktop image stretching on several monitors: Yes, you can do it.  Create a desktop image that is the size, in pixels, of the horizontal and vertical of the desktop space, and select 'Tile' mode when you set the background.

I bought a new computer from office three weeks ago and created a recovery of three DVD set. Unfortunately I just realized they are DVD + RW and that type of shouldn't have been used and are not supported.

My computer won't let me create another set of recovery DVD. Is that what I can do about it.

Thanks for the reply DP - K. DVD pack have been very confused because they are marked with the DVD + R, but on the other side, there is a small symbol RW. It would seem that they are not rewritable because files are certainly on the DVD and following the instructions through the hotline telephone Windows7 started to load them so everything looks very good. Thanks again.

    Hi Katy,.

It seems that you try to install Service Pack 3 for Office XP, and it asks for a disc, is this correct?  If so, here is a link to Microsoft on how to install the full version of SP3, so you do not have to provide the original disks: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=85af7bfd-6f69-4289-8bd1-eb966bcdfb5e.

Scroll down to the section install SP3 without the original Office XP CD you will find a link to download version of the Office XP SP3 full of the file. Download this file first (it's important-about 58 M), then run it.  After the update installs successfully, you can safely delete the downloaded file.  This should solve your problem and it will not ask you to install the update more.

    See you soon,.

  • Windows 7 - cannot get updates for Office 2003

After hours of talking on the phone, I turn on these forums for help.

I have Windows 7 x 64 Professional with all current updates.  I also have MS Office 2003.

While I am able to receive and update the operating system, I get no prompt or suggested updates for Office 2003.  From Office 2003 and then clicking on "Help/Check for Updates ' do nothing.  Interesting is going to 'Control Panel/system and security/Windows Update' and then clicking on "get updates for other Microsoft products...". To learn more"anything also.

    Hi Loubag,

    1. What is the exact error that you receive when you try to install Service Pack 3 (SP3) for Office?

I suggest you try the following steps:

Step 1: Manually download the update from the link of download below and then try to install it

Description of Office 2003 Service Pack 3

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/923618

Save the update on the Office

Step 2: Temporarily disable this security software on the computer

Right click the security software on the notification in the taskbar area and disable it.

If this option is not available, you can check the documentation provided by the manufacturer of your anti-virus program to disable.

Important: Activate the security software once everything is done.

Now, try to install the update saved on the desktop, let me know if it works or you need help.

The malicious software removal tool does not use an installer. As a general rule, when you run the malicious software removal tool, it creates a temporary directory named at random on the root of the drive of the computer. This directory contains several files, and it includes the Mrtstub.exe file. Most of the time, this folder is automatically deleted after the tool to the end of execution or the next time that you start the computer. However, this folder may not always be automatically deleted. In these cases, you can manually delete this file, and this has no adverse effect on the computer.
