6 Lightroom freezes when importing

I had to spend 5 or 6 Lr LR, so that my camera D750 can attach with Lr.

But since using Lr6, it freezes at import.

How can I get this fixed isssue, please?

I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.

I would ask you to roll back to Lightroom 6.1.1.

Please use the link: Instructions to restore an earlier version of update

I hope this helps.

  • 6.3 Lightroom (Mac) freezes when importing

    Hi all

Due the fact that Apple has stopped development of opening I had to do a switch after several years of feeling 100% comfortable with an opening. After some research, it became clear that most of the people would recommend Lightroom. So I bought a copy.

Import of my opening book is very well and included all my projects and notes (very important!). So far so good.

Now, I tried to import photos newly shot of my Nikon D7100. Tried with the cable. Tried with the SC card in my Macbook Air. Lightroom still freezes when importing or is back with the 'message' that none of the pictures could be read.

Returned to the opening. Connected to the camera. Quick import and 100% OK.

I can't believe that Adobe releases a new version with such a major problem... Very frustrating... want my money back!

Can anyone help? Is that a known issue - the fixes proposed in the forums don't work not (import options)? Will there be an update to Lightroom soon?

    Thank you!

Also, make sure that you have read and write access on the location where you import the images.

  • LR 2.3 freezes when importing from CF card reader photos

We use LR for some time.  Repeatedly noticed when import a few hundred new photos than LR 2.3 will freeze for importing photos from a CF card reader (Lexar Professional Player and Lexar CF cards).  The computer must be rebooted which causes corruption catalogue and had to start all over again. I use an iMac (3.06 GHz Intel processor dual core) with 4GBs of RAM and 800 GB HARD drive.  All the operating system software are uptodate.  I was wondering if others have the same problem and what, if any, work arounds could be out there.  Adobe does not have this problem on their Web site.

Image capture is an application that ships with Mac OS X. It can be used to control what happens during a reconnaissance of the card, but it is not necessary. I have my Mac configured to simply use Finder to copy maps, if for some reason, I use LR.

I think that once you reformat your card, you may find LR will very well be important.

  • Lightroom crashes when importing, iPhone a trigger

The latest version of Lightroom CC, 2015.2.1, continues to be unstable, crashing constantly, taking usually Windows desktop down with it requiring a reboot of the entire system.

The import module and its new GUI seems to be a trigger for this behavior. By clicking import, sometimes LR crashes immediately without displaying the import screen, sometimes he half-displays the screen to import as a transparency on the normal screen then freezes and sometimes the import screen becomes fully visible but then more often as otherwise LR and the crash even when Windows desktop.

Although this behavior may happen at any time, try to import photos from an iPhone ensures a fatal full system shutdown.

2015 Lightroom versions have all been more unstable than previous versions. These problems seem to be centered around video issues. I have an AMD Radeon graphics card and had to rollback repeatedly last year drivers (as well as uncheck LR graphics options) for LR to work. And each new version of LR seems to require to start from scratch to get the program, the operating system and graphics card all talk to each other. This time, they're not talking.

Adobe, what do you think? Similar problems are reported on the net.

Any help with this mess is greatly appreciated.

    Hi ejbSFO

    Greetings!

Although this behavior may happen at any time, try to import photos from an iPhone ensures a fatal full system shutdown.

If the accident is specific to the iPhone, it is because Lightroom performs an analysis of all the devices where the pictures would be. He has the problem where it cannot correctly identify a smartphone as a "hard disk". So, if you set your iPhone to connect as a support MTP device. The question could not arise.

2015 Lightroom versions were more unstable than previous versions

You can restore the version 2015.1.1. Refer to restore an earlier version of update

  • LR6 freezes when importing images / NO answers by ADOBE :-(((

    Hey dear community,

seems ADOBE really has a problem with the topic (see also the discussion: LR6 crashes when you import photos)

Up to now only support by others having same problem, but ADOBE keeps quiet.

Hope they realize and will soon come back with a solution.

For me, the situation remained unchanged: EVERY THIRD or FOURTH LR IMPORT FREEZES AND CAN ONLY BE woken UP to the TOP BY CTRL-ESC-CMD.

The good thing so far is only, that program works then ok and I also have not detected a failure to follow the directions of archives. (fingers crossed)

So my request: ADOBE - hurry up!

I thank you for the update Frankonia, let me know if everything goes well.

  • 4.2 Lightroom crashes when importing

I recently moved 4.2 Lightroom to my new PC in Windows 8. All modules work fine except when trying to import from my card or my PC drive, then the program grinds stops and crashes often. Program worked fine on my old Windows Vista system. The only things I moved from Vista PC were photos, Lighroom catalog file and Lightroom preference file. Support Adobe suggests trying to run Lightroom to different user on my PC, I tried, but no difference. If it makes a difference, LR is loaded on my C: SSD drive and photos, catalog, etc. on my D: drive. Any thoughts?

UPDATE. Finally, I've identified the problem. One of my printers (Epson RX 620) has a card reader that was apparently originally a Windows conflict. As long as the printer is disabled when I import pictures, all right.

  • Lightroom crashes when importing desktop image

I have LR 2015.6.1 on an iMac. Import from a SD card works fine. But when I try to import an image from my office (a simple JPG), LR crashes. I have to force quit LR and kill a process called "dynamiclinkmediaserver" to get everything back to normal.

Someone at - it an idea about it? Thank you.

    Hi LexvanOorspronk,

Could you please check what is the destination on when you import from office?

Also, try to create a new catalog and see if the problem is reproducible.

  • 6.6 Lightroom crashes when importing each time

Hi I have a relatively new version of Lightroom 6.6, purchased in March 2016. It is basically useless, because it will no more allow me to import the photos to change.

Description of the problem: as soon as I click on the button IMPORT, a dialog box appears indicating LR has stopped working and will close.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times, and there is no change in operational capability. It crashes always everytime.

Really nice Adobe have no support real tech for this program.

Please update 6.6.1: Install Photoshop Lightroom

  • 6.1 Lightroom freezes when deleting the raw files or spend library module to develop the module

I have Lightroom 6.1. I have a catalog of ~ 35 000 photos.  With my most recent import of a DSLR Nikon raw files, I'll develop and edit and try to delete some files that I don't want.  The minute I try to delete a file, the program crashes and no unhang itself until I close the program and restart.  I tried the same thing several times with different images and get the same result, most of the time.    In addition, it also pretty regularly just hangs trying to get into the develop module, after being in the library module.  It happened at a point of pure frustration because it actually eliminated my being able to do anything other than look at the imported pictures.  Anyone with a similar problem?  I had the same problem with 6.0 recently.  I have a computer standard win 8.1 with 8 MB of ram.  Have never had a problem with Lightroom and found that it is a stable program as a whole so far.  Thank you.  Gary

  • Organizer freezes when importing all the mov and some jpg files

I used the Task Manager to close Photoshop Elements 10 and then go out the jpg on that it froze the folder. Relaunch Photoshop, select some files and run until the frost.

He has read thousands of jpg files, but just freezes on the other. I have no idea what's different about these jpg. Can't find any help by searching the forums. Since a few hours on this now.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

I need to find a way for her to read mov files, because with all the travel, I managed to delete them from my network-attached storage which did not have the burning trash (he says disgustedly).

Your original thought "except a few network problems" proved to lead me to a solution.

Open and save the photo on which Photoshop has frozen in XnView or Lopesoft does not solve the problem, but Photoshop would hang on the last picture in a directory, so I do not think the problem, I noticed was due to bad data.

I was reading the photos on my home network of a SIN. I transferred photos on a scsi drive connected to the pc (I think about 30 vs 4-Mbit/s). Photoshop imported about 6000 photos. The only difficulty was with a single photo and Photoshop gave me a message that it has been altered and could not be read. This allowed me to continue to import.

Your suggestions of two software look like they may be very useful in the future. If you have any other suggestions for the software I'd appreciate hearing about them.

You are the kind of knowledgeable and helpful person that I always hope to meet in the forums.

    Thanks again for your help.

  • Lightroom eat when importing space of C: drive

    Guys,

When I import pictures my C drive is exhausted very quickly in space. I have only 5GB spare parts because it's a SSD drive and when I import about 10 photos that I find myself with only 200 MB! It is causing all sorts of problems and I was wondering if there was a way to move the cache to import (which I assume is the problem) to another drive?

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can put the cache on any player, as long as it is a reasonably quick drive / with a fast connection.

I would not put the cache on an external USB drive because the USB connection is too slow. But the internal drives are beautiful and external eSata drives are very good.

Just go > Edit > Preferences > files Management tab. At the bottom, is the section for and on the side right, you can the location.

You will probably find even that LR works faster when the Cache is on a drive other than the C drive where (I assume) LR resides.

One last thing: If you have enough put readers cache not on the same drive when the LR catalog is - who will also accelerate LR.

  • Rename files in Lightroom 3 when importing (problems)

I can trouble importing files into Lightroom name where I want to custom their name - sequentially. I import the data to a folder on my hard drive in the folder that contains all of my files in lightroom. I am able to import and rename files in folders with ease. Others said Lightroom 3 couldn't have their name. Why? If I try to import and rename in LR2 I have no problem. I'm basically a Nikon generated file, say DSC0001. NAVE and rename in Ireland 07-30 - 08.NEF. Lightroom 3 cannot do. Anyone know why? Thank you.

I'm renaming all my during the import of the NAVE.

    Here's how:

    and it works very well.

There is another problem with the import you might encounter. The actual files on the file system and records, he presents in the library do not correspond regarding the rental structure. Try to pass will result in an error message that the file cannot be moved because it is already there. If you run this as well, just let me know for a solution. Hope that Adobe fixes this annoying very quickly.
