64 bit Dual Core Pentium (E2220)

Hi, I'm running XP 32 bit on a Pentium Dual Core. Its supposed to be 64-bit compatible (CPU - Z shows EM64T as characteristic and the site Web, Intel said its 64-bit compatible), but when I try and install Windows Server 2008 RC2, it says I do not have a CPU 64-bit capable.

I installed it on my fine i7, but I encountered a problem that were freezing just colleagues now just as it starts, I am running it on Windows 7 RC1 on the i7, so I guess maybe it's a contributing factor, so I wanted to give it a go on the old XP machine.

It is the CPU or I have to do something for the VM first then he will run 64-bit?

VT - x is required for 64-bit processors Intel customers.  See KB 1901.

    Hello

I have goggled a bit and found that this laptop Satellite L30-105 was certainly equipped with the Intel Pentium Dual-Core CPU T2060 1.6 GHz.

I m similar L30 owner as a second notebook and at first start, I noticed that the Device Manager recognized the incorrect CPU.
I've simply removed the entry CPU since the Device Manager and rebooted again the Vista again recognized the CPU and advised the right CPU.

Nothing should happen to your PC.

Worst case, it's that the PC does not start upward.  Replace your original processor in and it should be good.

Best case scenario is that works, and you're in luck because that would be a good cooler processor running than a Pentium D 960!

  • My Pentium Dual-Core E5200 showing as Single

Good to start with my computer information-

    Windows XP
    Home Edition
    Version 2002
    Service Pack 3

    I have a Pentium (r) Dual-Core E5200.

My Device Manager shows two hearts, but my Task Manager displays only one and my computer is slow massively. I had a problem a month ago and reinstall windows. It took me a week to get installed and working properly. My bios has Multicore multiprocessing (SP?) active. My Manager to design shows my computer (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC. I have a second option for Standard PC. I also tried to find other solutions to get it working properly, but it forced me to change my boot.ini file and I have no one. Yes I did all the stuff to show all hidden files and the only one that shows is C:\WINDOWS\pss and is called boot.ini.backup. All the solutions or who need more information help get my processor works properly. I at one point had show as a dual-core in my task manager. That was before resettlement.

    Hello Stephen,

I have taken note of the fact that you do not have a boot.ini file.

Windows XP is able to boot without a boot as long as the boot drive is on multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS.

If the machine has a floppy drive, it may be useful to create a boot diskette to try the steps mentioned in the article that you have found-in this way, you can change the boot.ini without fear of being unable to start abruptly.  You will need to create a new boot.ini file by using the following article:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/289022

You should be able to use the boot.ini file example text with a certain degree of success, there is always a certain amount of trial and error with this.

This is being done, you can create startup disk that will allow us to experiment with the boot.ini file:

1 format a diskette on another Windows XP computer with the same service pack.

2 copy the NTLDR, NTDETECT.COM, and BOOT. INI files on the disk.
These are placed in C:\ and most likely will be hidden.

    3. you can then use this diskette to a distressed boot.
Note that you must work with the path of startup in the boot.ini file, until it works.

Alternatively, you can create this disk of your Windows XP machine until problems arise and make it available as a "just-in-case measure.

Let us know how it goes.

    Best regards

  • Intel Virtualization Technology - Thinkcentre A58 - Pentium Dual-Core E5300

    Hello

I am considering buying a ThinkCentre A58 with a clocked Intel E5300 processor
    Model/type: 7515-7SG

I would like to run "Windows XP Mode" on Windows 7 Pro.

For the XP Mode, I need ability IVT.

    My Question is:

The Lenovo 7515-7SG come with an E5300 CPU which is capable Intel virtualization technology?

IVT depends on the TECHNICAL Code of the E5300 CPU.

Intel offers CPU E5300, who do not have the ability of IVT.

    E5300 know:
    http://Ark.Intel.com/product.aspx?ID=35300#specs

    E5300 Code TECHNIQUE

    * SLB9U: IVT No.
    * SLGTL: IVT Yes

    Check the E5300 features supported:

    http://processorfinder.Intel.com/list.aspx?ParentRadio=all&ProcFam=2841&SearchKey=

Even if Lenovo ships an E5300 with SPEC Code SLGTL - needs a BIOS that does not block IVT.

... made the A58 BIOS IVT available?

I already searched the Lenovo Thinkcentre A58 product support site - has not found something valuable.

    Thank you

    I found the answer.

Hi, when I connect to my Wired XBOX 360 controller to my PC the guide button flashes once and there is no answer. I use 32 bit Windows 7, Dual core 2 GB Ram DDR2

    Hi JamBoard,

It is possible, that you need to install the drivers for the controller.  You can get them from here:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/p/Xbox-360-controller-for-Windows#support

However, if it's not too hot, it could be a real hardware problem.

  • Non - VT dual core 64-bit processor support

I'm fighting with the VMWare compatibility and in general matrix processor for ESXi 4.1 needs. It will install (in box running a thin VM) on the non - VT dual core 64-bit processor as an Intel E2200 with 2 GB of RAM? Or can I * need * to install VT?

Can I install it on the system without head the serial console?

    Thank you!

    Welcome to the community,

It will install (in box running a thin VM) on the non - VT dual core 64-bit processor as an Intel E2200 with 2 GB of RAM? Or can I * need * to install VT?

You can install ESXi, but you will not be able to run the 64-bit without VT support clients. With only 2 GB of RAM, you will be able to install the OS and run it, but it will not be too much RAM left for the virtual machine that you want to run.

Can I install it on the system without head the serial console?

What type of console is not sure. As long as you can start the installation from the CD or set the ISO as a virtual CD, you should be able to install it. You need to try. If this does not work there are other options. For example, to prepare a USB stick with ESXi, attach it to the system and the boot USB hypervisor.

Whether or not it is possible to install and run ESXi on your system, depends not only of the CPU. There are other requirements for the material too. As the controller of disk, network cards,...

  • E8600 (E0 stepping) never confirmed to work in Inspiron 530 dual-core?

Looking to upgrade my Inspiron 530 (0RY007 mobo) to E8600 (E0 stepping) to run a sweet little dual-core as long as possible (other mods are already underway).  I've seen some posts around here like this - http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3514/p/19333906/19702557.aspx - saying an E8500 with E0 stepping will work on BIOS version 1.0.15 and later, but just trying to confirm the e8600 (E0 stepping) BIOS v 1.0.16 working before we get into a situation of having to return one with the explanation that I was not sure it would work in my particular application.  I have never seen someone post back as the E0 stepping actually works (and what BIOS they run, because I don't want to 'upgrade' to 1.0.16 to 1.0.18 due to problems of DVI at 1.0.18).  Thanks in advance.

The relevant facts (for mods, see my signature below):

Motherboard: 0RY007 (530 variant with flexible connection, no a/b/c/d version)

    CPU: 2.0 GHz E2180 Pentium dual-core

BIOS: 1.0.16 (not interested in version 1.0.18 due to problems with DVI connectivity)

This works.  After the Dell forums and Googling the whole web to research and finding no confirmation that the Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 would work in a Dell Inspiron 530 early vintage, I decided to take a chance and try it myself.

I use the BIOS.15 (not the derniere.18 version available on the Dell website) and the E8600 started very well and (Windows Vista 32 bit) reports that it is the Core 2 Duo E8600 and runs at 3.33 GHz specified.  Sweet!  Using the stock power supply and processor heat sink / fan Assembly.

  • Difference b/w processor 2 GHz & 1.8 GHZ DUAL CORE?

    Hi all

I am little confused here, seeking your help guys

What is the difference b/w 1.8 GHZ & 2 GHZ Dual Core Processor?

In fact, I'm looking to buy 6 s IPHONE 64 GB here in Dubai, but I found above mention question in 2 different stores.

2 ghz is cheaper than 1.8, 2 separate processors by APPLE in 6s?

    need your help.

    Thank you

The iPhone 6 s uses an Apple A9 64-bit processor. Apple does not release the specs on the clock speed in their tech specs.  A reseller of Authourized Apple will sell iPhone 6s at a price for each model, based on the storage.  A dealer will Apple NOT sell iPhones in the same series model at different prices, they fix, by features they make up on the spot like that.

I can assume only you're shopping to unauthorized resllers, in which case there is no verifiable way to know what they are selling or how they came by it. They can also tell to do whatever they want and you gouge for whatever price they can get from you.

Search the site of the store Apple UAE UNITED and you will see that Apple prices all series of iPhone at a different price for each option of storage model. There is not many price for a model of iPhone data.

  • Question about upgading Qosmio F20-137 to dual-core

Hi I want to rank up my Qosmio F20-137 to dual-core. I just need some advice on which one to buy.
    Thank you
    Chris

    Hello

Needless to say that a CPU upgrade in a laptop is totally sensless because you won´t gain true high performance. On the other side, you have to be a technician who should be familiar with these systems, because a mobile system is NOT THE SAME as a desktop system.

    Regarding your question:
This system is not able to take a dual-core cpu, because you only have an Intel 910 chipset / 915GM which can only take Intel pentium M.

If you don t believe me just check out this site:

    Hello world!

    I want to upgrade my CPU a Pentium M 740 (1.73) towards a T2050 Dual Core (2 x 1, 6).

The two processors use socket 479 mPGA and a FSB of 533 Mhz.

The M60 have the i915 and this chipset is not support two hearts. But some sources on the internet say he's working with some motherboards. It depends of the
    Reference of the manufacturer (Toshiba).

    So... it does not work?

    welcome them

    Hi mate,

Unfortunately, it s does not not since the chipset in this specific machine is not able to manage a Dual-Core processor. A friend of mine has tried, but the didn t of the machine starts. After replacing the Dual-Core with the previous, the machine upward, but since that time the machine started to work unstable.

We don t know yet what could be the problem, but I recommend you do not replace.
