6500 a ios7 AirPrint

Hello

I have an OfficeJet 6500 (E710N-z) a, which says that the HP support site must be compatible and able to print via AirPrint.

However, since a couple of weeks back, the printer no longer shows according to availability. We have several features of IOS7, and we are no longer able to print to the printer from any one of them.

I have a ping utility on my ipad, and I can't ping the printer by its IP address. And yet I have not all available printers when I try to 'select printer'.

I downloaded HP ePrint app, also the Print utility and remote AiO, and none of these applications are able to locate the printer either.

I hope that someone in the forum can help me, please.

Kind regards

Sloan4

Hi Sloan4,

Try restarting your router by unplugging for 30 seconds, then turn it on and wait a minute or two.

Turn the printer off and back on, then check all difference.

For any question, please let me know your routerbrand and your model, so make sure that the printer has the latest firmware installed:

The OfficeJet 6500 E710n-z supports Apple's Airprint feature.  Printer bought in April 2011.  I have a new iOS4.2.7 running of the iPhone4.  The phone detects the printer and allows me to select it as the printing device.  But when I hit the "print" key, the phone displays crashes and the message "communicating with the printer.  Any suggestions?

Yes the 6500 a supports AirPrint.  The problem may be in your router.  Is what kind of router?

Try to restart the printer and the router (pull power plug momentarily).

I assume that you have enabled Web Services from the front of the printer and have the latest version of the software loaded on the printer?

  • OfficeJet 6500 E709n does support AirPrint?

Hello.  Just got an iPad for Christmas - love it!  I also have an Officejet 6500 E709n - dearly loved as well.  I can't 2 working together?

I'm afraid that the answer is no, because...

-E709n isn't on Apple's web site as a supported printer (HP Officejet 6500 a Plus e - AiO is tho,)

    and

-Although the printers and iPad are well connected to my wireless network, if I try to print from my iPad, it says: "No Printers Found.

But...  Maybe there is a way to upgrade my 6500 to support AirPrint?

Thx for any info / suggestions!

No, this isn't and you can not move your printer (reasonably).  The 6500 has new don't (E710), but yours does not support AirPrint.

However, he manages the HP iPrint - free app on the App Store.  It is more limited than AirPrint, but you can print stuff.

  • Apple Airprint for HP Officejet 6500 has more via a wired connection to the router

    Hello

So I did a considerable amount of research in this through the internet and this forum and I still struggle to find a satisfactory solution.

I have a HP Officejet 6500 a more connected by ethernet to my BT Homehub 3.

It is I understand that even if there is a wired connection, as long as my iOS device (iPad 2 or iPhone 5) is connected to the same router, I should still be able to see this Officejet thanks to ease of airprint.

Unfortunately, this is not the case. I get the message "No Airprint Printers Found" on both devices. The only way I managed to get my Mac Pro (Mavericks) to connect has been add to mannualy by using the IP address of the printer.

Can anyone provide guidance on what I might hurt? Certainly, the printer must connect internet I can print from my iOS devices using HP ePrint app for iOS.

Some might say, well, what's the problem, just use the HP application, but is not the point. I think that if something has been set up to make things easier, then use it. I chose this printer specifically for this feature is a bit frustrating for her so difficult to get the desired results.

Hope it is something simple and anyone can help you.

    Thank you

    Steve

Following this request and reading the many more similar questions, I think I may have solved this.

I'm not 100% sure but I read a few threads suggests that there are issues around BT Homehub 3 and Hello so this can be a problem.

I tried the following in the past two days...

    (1) completely don't reset my router (wiped all settings and started)-no luck!

    (2) I tried changing to WPA2 to just WPA security - no luck!

    (3) tried to convey the Hello to the printer ports - no luck!

    (4) turn off the router, printer and all the devices iOS then fed back router, printer, then iOS devices - printer appears on iOS devices, but when printing was selected iOS device returned on several occasions not connected printer error.

Finally, what seems to have made (at least for now) has been...

    (1) disconnected the Officejet ethernet and set up as wireless.

    (2) off voltage router, printer and all iOS devices then propelled upward in the order listed previously.

    (3) so far, I tried to print a mail and a web page of my iOS devices, and both have been successful.

By the way I've been struggling also to airplay from my iPhone / iPad until I started messing around with the settings above, and now this question also seems to be resolved.

Due to the variety of combinations (different printers, routers, etc.) people will have, it seems to be quite difficult to find a solution that solves a single problem but I hope some of my experiences and findings could help others in some way.

Y at - it such an update for Mac OS X 10.7.x or is not AirPrint support for this particular model?

    Hi jaweston44,

AirPrint does not work on the E709a.  You are wanting to print from a computer or mobile device?  Is the printer connected via usb to an AirPort base station, or is it with/without wire?

Here is a link to Apple's site for all AirPrint printers supported: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356

  • I have an Ipad. It has been implemented for eprint airprint, but lately, it does not work.

    HP Officejet 6500 a Plus

    Mac Lion operating system

Printer not detected from my Ipad

    None

    Hello fjnatwick,

If I understand you correctly, you could use airprint in the past to print from your iPad. If you cannot see your printer appears when I try to print, try the following steps:

    1. If the printer is still lit, disconnect the power cord from the printer, leave it unplugged for 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the printer. Once connected to the printer should automatically turn on.

    2. turn off iPad completely by pressing the power button on the upper right of the iPad until you see "Slide to power off" and drag your finger on the bar to completely turn off the iPad. Now re - turn on the iPad.

Try your print job again and see if you are able to locate the printer on your iPad.

If you are able to locate the printer but nothing happens when you press the "print" key, then try the following steps:

1 clear print jobs from the print queue on your iPad by tapping twice on the home button. "PrintCenter" icon should appear at the bottom of the screen. Select PrintCenter and delete print jobs by sliding your finger across each task and select "Delete" until they are all gone.

Now, try again to see if it is able to correctly print your print job.

If you still have problems, questions, do not hesitate to reply to this message and I'll try to find an answer for you.

  • HP 6500 is printing very slowly under OS x 10.9

Hey, my 6500 has prints incredibly slow and it recently started really only questions. I suspect it was the update to 10.9, but am not sure. I can't find anywhere on the hp software to reduce the quality or speed of prints any longer. It's quite frustrating because it takes about 2 minutes to print a page now since the Mac and about 5 seconds of my PC.

    Anyone have any ideas?

You always have HP software from a previous version of Mac OS X in your Applications folder?  If so, we need to remove it.

In the meantime, download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907

    Restart your Mac.

    Reset the printing system:

-Go to System Preferences > print & Scan
-Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!
-Select the sign more to add a printer. Select the default tab on the top of the window. Search for the printer, select it, and then beside the dropdown 'Use', select the model of the printer (not AirPrint). Wait for the 'Add' button becomes available. Until it clicks.

  • OfficeJet 6500 a Plus: printer shows as a fax machine

I unplugged my printer about a month ago and when I rebooted and tried to add a printer, it shows just like a fax machine. I've tried different help topics, nothing seems to work.

    Hi @Swissmizz,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that your printer of HP Officejet 6500 a more re-won't add to the Mac as a printer, as a fax machine. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution" if I helped successfully will solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

I understand the frustration you are experiencing. HP doesn't have the full functionality of software and drivers for Mac OS X 10.10. Apple has a software update for the HP Officejet 6500 E710n driver, but it is only the print driver.

That being said. I recommend reset us the printing system and add new printer using the driver update from Apple.

    Reset the printing system:

To begin, I will have you reset the printing system on your Mac. Please click herefor instructions on how to perform the reset. When the site opens, follow the steps under"Reset printing in OS X Lion system" because the steps are the same for Mac OS X 10.10. This Reset deletes each printer on your Mac. However, it does not uninstall printers. Therefore, if use you other printers on the Mac, once the reset is complete simply make sure printers are attached via a USB cable or connected network and (+) add hide them po do not add your HP Officejet in now.

Check and repair your Mac disk permissions:

    1. Open Macintosh HD and go to Applications
    2. Go to the Utilities folder
    3. Open disk utility
    4. Select the hard disk volume, you use (usually on the left)
    5. Select verify disk permissions
    6. Once this process is complete, select repair disk permissions

Once the reset complete, restart the Mac.

Uninstall the drivers and the software (if installed):

Please click here to find out how to properly uninstall your printer. Once the site opens, select the drop-down list 'Mac OS X v10.6, OS X v10.7, OS X v10.8 and OS X v10.9' and follow the steps under two method to complete uninstallation.

Once the uninstall is complete, please continue on.

    Check the Apple updates:

    1. Go to the Apple
    2. Select System Preferences
    3. Select software update
    4. Click update now
    5. Install your available updates
    6. Computer restart

    Add device:

    1. click on the menu of Apple , then Preferences System.

    2. click on Print & Scan and then check if the name of your printer appears in the printer list.

    3. click on the name of your printer, click the sign minus (), then remove the printer.

    4. click on the plus sign (), click Add a printer or a Scanner, click the name of your printer.

    5. click on the area of use or with the help of Print and then select the name of your printer on the shortcut menu. Ensure that the Officejet driver is selected.

    6. click Add to add the printer to the list. Do not add the AirPrint driver.

    7. try to print again.

  • OfficeJet 6500 and Mavericks

I upgraded to the Mavericks, when I got my new MacBook Pro last month. I just tried the printer connection and it's a no go. After HOURS of research... that website... I found these directions:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03967522

Unfortunately, I followed and uninstalled the HP software before installing the new software. Before I did, I was just messing around in the hope of finding a solution and I tried to re-adding the printer (you can see my computer) and he had the box 'USE', which had the name of the printer (Officejet 6500 blah blah) and AirPrint option two. Thinking that I didn't know as much as the official people who manufactured the product, I decided to search online before clicking on the name of the printer in the area USE and installation of the printer.

Now that I uninstalled the software by fashion, only AirPrint is available. I can't find Officejet 6500 in the area USE even if I click on some software. I tried AirPrint anyway and found that the computer says the printer is available for use but nothing to actually print and certainly nothing scans as it says there is no software for this product. I spent 2 hours on this site, try to find a solution at this point and I'm completely exasperated. Guess I'll have to analyze everything to work tomorrow.

Found the answer in the last 2 minutes...

Turn the printer power off and power on.

  • HP Officejet 6500 a: HP Officejet 6500 a and Air Print

I use HP OfficeJet 6500 has connected to my network.  Works very well.  It is also implemented and works with ePrint via email address.

Now, I'm trying to get my iPad and iPhone to print via Air Print, but they will not find the printer.  All products are up to date.

    (1) is the printer must be in wireless mode for direct connection to Apple products instead of via the router and not through the wired connection?

    (2) it seems that this 6500 a has any ability to woreless when I unplug the ethernet cable, even if the guide and the sites Internet says that she is supposed to have wireless capability.  No Option in the Network Setup menu to enable or disable wireless.

    Hello

Must be connected to the same network, as long as it's the network of sae, an ethernet cable should work.

AirPrint is based on good morning, requiring your router to support the transfer of Multicast packets in order to establish such a link.

There are routers that does not support multicast or can with this support, disabled by default, the router is most likely the cause of forums,

If please specify your router brand and model to better understand any possible cause.
