6500 fax and digital phone

Hello

Is it possible to get the OfficeJet 6500 E709n fax when it is connected to the digital phone service?  This seems to be the only obstacle to my installation.  I can't believe that HP would offer an all-in-one that are not fax to digital service.  Thanks for any help.

Also, I ended up returning the darn machine and exchange it for one that specifically said that it works with digital phone.  Thanks for the help, if.

How to make connections of cables for that the 6500, the computer (dsl) modem and the phone can share one telephone line?  Instructions for the 6500 show must be connected directly to the phone jack and the other devices are then connected to the 6500.

    Would this work?

    a. telephone jack using #1 port on back on officejet 6500 connect.

    b. connect another line of port #2 to the rear of the officejet and divide it to modem and phone.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You'll forgive me explained is not setup and operation. When you receive a phone call, your answering machine will answer the call first. Once he does, the fax will listen to the call and hear fax tones. If she hears fax tones, it will pick up the call and start receiving the fax. If she does not hear fax tones, it leaves you alone the phone call. This is why the TAM must be connected to port 2 - EXT and the TAM to answer the call first the value.

  • The HP OfficeJet 6700 does support fax through a line of digital phone to StarHub in Singapore?

I get my phone line at home to Singapore's StarHub over a digital phone network. My HP OfficeJet 6700 will be able to send and receive faxes on this network?

    Hello rabbers,

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see that you do not want to be able to send / receive faxes via Starhub digital voice line.

Actually, I should say no. This would work sporadically on a digital line, but no guarantee that it will work all the time.  Faxing is intended for older analogue lines and aimed at all ever for digital.

Here is a link that will give you instructions for setting up the device HP all-in-one to send and receive faxes.

    Thanks for your time.

  • Problems with WRT54GS and EasyLink after the addition of the Comcast Digital phone.

I had a working network. Cable modem (Comcast), WRT54GS, 2 PCs per (an XP/SP3, a Vista Home Edition SP1), 2 cable PC laptop wireless (an XP/SP3, a Vista Home Edition SP1) and a HP OfficeJet 7210 printer (connected to WRT54GS as a network printer). Everything was going well and worked.

Then, I added the Comcast Digital phone. Obviously, they went for a new modem cable modem cable with the phone service option. Now I can't print to the wired Vista PC OfficeJet and EasyLink displays "initializing" for too long I'll wait (5 minutes).

Finally, I must kill EasyLink from the Task Manager. Any help or ideas appreciated!

I solved the problem. It turns out the new modem cable and problem with EasyLink initialization were 'diversion '.

The problem turns out to be a classic network problem! The Vista PC wired had a wrong IP address. The wireless PC XP has the printer configured with the name of network instead of the network address (IP, for example).

When I deleted the printer on the Vista PC and added to the correct address everything worked fine.

Apparently, the printer got a new IP address of the server on the WRT54GS after installing the new modem. In addition, it seems that Vista doesn't has not report an error of communication to a network printer, but for a direct USB connect.

  • connect the fax and scanner on HPofficejet 6500 wireless

    Hello

Your printer is a network printer, you are better plugged into the router and configure it with the HP software.

Then use it with the management software provided by HP.

AIO devices aren't devices such as hard drives, DVD, network, etc, they do not adhere to established standards and must be used with the software of the provider.

  • OfficeJet 6500: Fax appears not when you add the printer with El Capitan

I've just upgraded to El Capitan.  I have a 6500 Officejet and Officejet 6700 on the network and that you can print on both but fax is not working.

I tried to delete faxes from the Printers & Scanners window in the settings, but when I try to add more once they are not appearing in the list.  When I click on add everything I see is the following:

It should be an option fax for two (well I want that the created such as 6700 6500 is not connected to a phone line).  Anything I can try to get the Fax option to appear so that I can set up the Fax network (the printer is in a different area of the building so my work around printing and then manually fax is a pain - unfortunately, one of our main suppliers insists on faxes and will not accept orders by email if I need this to work!)

By the way I tried selecting the 6500 in the list and then change the print to fax driver driver in the area of USE, but the printer is not sending it by fax - print only a few pages of garbage.

Any help would be great because I find it very frustrating.  Also, I have another Mac with Yosomite on which has the same problem, so I don't think it's specific to El Capitan (but mine was working when I got Yosomite, but I installed the printer/fax under an earlier version originally).

Try to update the software by following these steps:

First of all make sure that the printer is turned on and connected to your Mac or on the same network.

Click on the Apple icon, then select about this Mac.
Click software update, and then click the Store from the top of the indicated window menu and click on reload the Page.

Be sure to install any update HP or Apple, then check for the difference.

If it persists, try manually install the package below:
    http://support.Apple.com/kb/dl907

    Search for now no difference.

Note that it may take up to a minute for the Fax queue to appear.

  • remove 1 fax number from outlook to use the Windows fax and scan

I recently bought a new computer with Windows 7 operating system.  I try to use Windows Fax and Scan to send a fax using my Outlook address book fax numbers.  When I enter the phone number in Outlook it shows as (281) 555-1212.  However, it converts the number of + 1 for each entry, regardless of how I implemented the rules of numbering or not.  Then when I try to fax, I don't need + 1 to dial numbers, only the area code and the number.  I can't do the 1 = go away.  If I dial the number directly in the Fax Wizard, and then it composes correctly, but when pulling starting from Outlook address book that's messed up.

Basically, I don't have the + 1 to dial local numbers.  Only the 10 digits.  When I get a fax in Outlook number, it automatically formats it with the front 1.  I found an article online that said that if I put a comma before the number to 10 digits, it forces the computer to dial only the numbers that I entered.  It works fine when I do that, then my problem is solved.  Thanks for responding.

  • 8610 OfficeJet all-in-one: fax and copy only with an Officejet8610e all in one printer

I bought a 8610 to use only as a fax and photocopier. I have no computer at home.

Can I get out of the box and try to use it for these two functions without having to download the software CD that came with it?

    Of course

Simply connect it to your phone line for faxing and use the copy option, none of these options require the use of any computer.

  • Windows fax and scan without adding contact

I use Windows Fax and Scan to send a quick fax to someone.  In the dialog box "New Fax", you can enter a name of my address book Outlook or to a phone number.  I would like to enter a name and a number for someone who is not in the address book without having to create a contact for them in the address book.

The cover page editor allows me to insert the two {name} and {recipient Fax #}, so I expect to be able to enter this information when I send the fax.

    Thank you.

    JerryK

You do so by using a one-off Fax address as indicated in this article:

The names that you insert in the cover page editor cover fields in your address book to be filled in by the address book when you select a default contact.

  • How to connect a USB modem fax when the phone line is connected to a HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus 4 - all - in-one?

So I have a HP Office Jet Pro 8600 Plus (4-all-in-one) that I normally use to fax documents for commercial purposes. I became more and more tired for the first printing of documents directly from my computer to be faxed to another office. It is a waste of paper, ink and time. For this reason, I would like to set up a fax modem so I can use Windows Fax & Scan on my Gateway with Windows 7 computer so that I can directly fax documents from my computer to the recipient fax. The only question is, I have a phone line that I use for my fax and which is directly connected to the fax machine, but I understand a Faxmodem USB also plug into a phone line as well. How can I configure the USB fax modem without compromising the current telephone line attached to my fax machine? Do I need a splitter? I can still use my fax machine to receive faxes and fax all paper document not found in my computer (for ex. documents I received by mail).

It is always profitable read the documentation provided with the device.  If you had, you would know that the software provided with it will allow you to fax documents directly from your computer without printing it and scanning first.  Download the software (and the user's guide - page 63- here.
