  I tried to connect my officejet 6700 without cable.  I am able to get the printer to connect to my network and when I print a wireless network test, it says that it is connected, switch on everything.  I am able to ping the printer as well.  At first when I tried to set up the printer, my computer could not find the printer.  Now, it seems that it can find the printer, but it will not install. I used the HP print and scan doctor, and he said that I had to install the full version of the software that comes with the printer. I tried to reload the software that came on the disk with the printer, and will not install successfully.

  Thanks for the reply.  I am running windows 7 professional 64-bit.  He just said "installation failure," anything else.  Since my last post I was able to chat online with an hp support person, and they made some kind of a work around.  Instead of trying to install as an officejet 6700, installed the driver for a deskjet 6950 and added a protocol TCP/IP port with the IP address of my printer, and that seemed to work.  It is now printing from my computer and my iPad.

What is strange, is the UTILITY of HP software on the mac can see the printer - I can print to it - even USE THE SCAN SOFTWARE on the COMPUTER and BUT I can NOT put in WORK SCAN wireless using the HP printer menus?   HP has released a package of LION AIO for our printer - just go to the website of support for your printer and locate the AIO - install - package and you'll find EVERYTHING WORKS! -you will notice that they have improved the utility for Apple Lion HP slightly during the last row IT WILL BE SCAN TO COMPUTER and it will SHOW a GREEN LIGHT that says connected - THANKS a LOT for ALL YOUR INPUT!

  I implemented the 6700 for wireless network and all is well with computers.  I'm trying to print directly from the iphone Tablet and they indicate the print file sent, but printer does not respond.  I see a configuration option that says "Direct wireless printing", but I can't find any info on what happened or what is.

  HP Wireless Direct allows the printer to act as a "router" If you do not have such a home, the more likely is not necessary if you have a home network with a router.

  I've read about the software problem that you encounter on your system Windows 8.1, as printing software does not work for you, and you see the error "the HP Imaging device cannot be found". I have some ideas in mind which may help you!

  Perform an uninstall of level 3:

  If the software has been downloaded and extracted to your system:

  1. press Windows key + R and type %temp% enforcement and press enter

  2. Locate and open the folder starting with 7z (example: 7zS2356) (if there is more than one, choose the most recent folder)

  3 open the Util folder

  4 open the CCC folder

  5. run the L3uninstall.exe

  6. once the uninstall is complete, restart the computer

  7 run the Accessories\ System Tools Disk Cleanup

  8. download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

  9. try a clean boot that turns off all startup programs. Disable all firewall and anti-virus too and try the installation again.

  10 download the drivers and full software features: here

  11. once the printer is installed, go back to the clean boot instructions to re-enable the startup programs.

  Open 6700 HP Officejet software and select scan a Document or Photo.

  Instead of scanning from the software, try scanning through your app (Adobe PS). The preview should then be given to you by the PS.

  Printer print wireless.  Network works.  There is a second computer that also prints the printer wireless.

  One thing, though.  You can get HP to find a way to go through this process without having to enter a mode 'clean boot '?  It takes more time I need to.

• MX340 wireless scan but will not print wireless

  I had this printer running on Win 8.1 for some time and had never been able to get wireless working.    I was delighted when I met recently with the fact that Canon had finally provided drivers for win 8.1 so I installed them.  I set up the wireless and has been able to analyze something wireless.    I try to print at this time, but later (overnight?) I tried to print and it tells me that the printer is disconnected.   It will scan without plugging in to my laptop but it seems to connect properly.   The scanner and the printer work with two different wireless connectors?

  It's very frustrating because I use the laptop in the House and I could really use the wireless function.   It prints without a problem with the usb connection.

  I tried all versions of the printer I could find available (2), but that doesn't seem to make a difference.   I solved my problem by uninstalling all versions of my canon printer and all the drivers and programs that I could find related to these printers and starting from scratch.   Not sure what I did differently this time, but I am now able to scan and print wireless.   Yes!

  I see that you can scan from the mobile phone application, but not from the laptop. You can print but wireless network. I can help you with this.

  What is the name and the product number of your printer? How can I find my model number or product number?

  What operating system do you use? How to find the Windows Edition and the Version on your computer.

  In the meantime, download and run the Print and Scan doctor. It will diagnose the problem and could solve it automatically. Find and fix common printer problems using the tools of diagnosis HP for Windows?

  Check the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) services:

  1. Click on the Windows icon (), type services.msc in the search programs and files box, and then click the services.msc under programs. If you are prompted, click Yes.
  2. In the Services window, right-click the service Acquisition of Image Windows (WIA), and then click Properties.
  3. Click the dependencies tab.
  4. Make sure that the remote procedure (RPC) call and Detection material nucleus are listed, and then close the Properties window.
  5. In the main window of Services , make sure that the remote procedure (RPC) call and Detection hardware core show that started in the status column. If they do not, continue to the next step to start the service.
  6. In the Services window, right-click Windows Image Acquisition.

• OfficeJet 6700 Premium scan to PDF

  Recently noticed that the characteristics and the scanning process have changed in my Officject 6700 Premium. The only way I can access scan now is by going to devices and printers in the Control Panel, right click on the printer icon and select Start Analysis. Not a problem for scan unless I want to scan a document in PDF format, which one is not an option for that anywhere. In the new scan dialog, if I select Documents in the profile, my only File Type options are image - jpg, png, bmp and tif files. There seems to be whatever for a PDF, or he is hiding it well.
