750-103D envy: envy 750-103d

I tried to install a USB3.0 4 Port PCI Express host controller but unfortunately the food isn't any alternative to connect to the PCI-e card power cable.

Is there a spare on the motherboard power connector to connect the power cable to the PCI-e card?

This map requires a female molex connector.  (Molex F).

Look at your power supply spare cords.  You probably have a spare power cord SATA.

Now fit with any one of them to fulfil your needs:

Desktop motherboard has 5 heads SATA (of which 2 were used for the first DvD and HARD disk in the original Setup) and the box has 3 bays for HARD drive, but there is no additional power from the PSU cable.

I installed a new SSD as my main and designated record the 1 TB of HARD drive that came with the desktop as my secondary school and office works just great.

Now I tried to install an another 1.5 TB HARD drive for storage. I used a SATA power cable Y (1 male to 2 females) to extend the existing cable. However, to my great disappointment, the system is unable to start up. I guess that supply POWER 300 watts current is insufficient to start 3 disks to a single supply with extension cable.

1] sells HP a 500-watt power supply with power cable for SATA 3 HARD drive?

[2] is a compatible power supply on the market (ie. not HP) who can stand in 750-103D envy? Brand/model and how much?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Probably, you have misunderstood my response.  Unplug the original HD boot drive.

Your question is not the power supply lack of insufficient power.  I have observed remains with HP computers with a power supply that would support three HDs off a 300 Watt SATA power cable voltage.

Perhaps the third HD is formatted incorrectly or is defective.  The other possibility is that your SATA Y cable connection is defective.  You also need good 5V and 12V.  In addition, if you have made any hardware changes to your PC you have not indicated, then it is possible that you may need a bigger power supply.

Installed and it reset my settings. I need to come back here to turn back on my virtual technology. Otherwise, I can create only 32-bit VM VirtualBox

    https://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/desktop-operating-systems-and-recovery/how-to-access-BIOS-to-enable-th...

Cannot return to normal Bios. I tried Tap the ESC which worked before, screen freezes and I hit enter and the HP logo comes up, tried to hit and also hit F10. As much as I turn power. I have a wireless Logitech K800 keyboard that worked before. I tried a usb keyboard standard ensuring they were on a USB 2.0 port. F2 to display a cold start UEFI bios.

Them win 10 things don't me settings there, recovery, advanced. Tried all

I was hoping that HP had fixed the enter the Bios thing with updated Bios if installed. This thing was a pain like that otherwise I'd be a camper happy with this PC, how is it you can not solve this HP?

Because of disconnect hard drive it hangs just below ground

    The solution is

I had installed a better Nvidia GTX-950 video card. By hitting the ESC, it hangs and nothing happens. Black screen, although you can see slightly change the colors

Fortunately both the edge video card and the new Nvidia both using a HDMI cable. So I just plug my integrated video card. Started while typing ESC and the Legacy Bios screen selection came where I choose F10 to enter the Bios of the legacy

When you perform an update of the HP Bios seems to put everything back by default, in other words on board, by selecting the video edge. Although you can see by selecting HDMI port at startup if you think it's ok.

I have worked with Dell PC for 15 years to work, it does not matter what card I put in them. At the start, I hit F2 and Bios loads so that bit me. Now I know

    Hope this helps someone else.

  • 750 - 140z envy: envy 750-140z is compatible with AMD RX 480?

Envy - what is compatible with AMD RX 480 750-140z? I guess I should also upgrade the PSU?

    Hi there @NicholasBraden,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  I understand that you are looking for advice with an update of the graphics card. I'm happy to give you a helping hand with this.

    Using the following sources:

HP ENVY 750-140z computer CTO product specifications and configurable options

HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - specifications of the motherboard, Orchid3

    Radeon™ RX 480 graphics card - amd.com

    Your system has a PCI Express x 16 (Gen 3.0) slot and a power of 300 W.

The specifications of the AMD 480 RX do not have some details that I'm normally looking like minimum power supply requirement. On the contrary, it shows typical Board power of 150W, which is not a list of peak power.  It also does not indicate the number and type of additional power connectors are needed, or the generation of slot PCIe required.  However, your motherboard has gen 3.0 I mentioned already so it's not likely to be a problem.

So having a typical power consumption of 150 W for the card and to be sure, assuming that your system uses near the 300 W provided by the existing power, you're looking at least 450w for common use.  I suggest to go much higher than that, probably more to 550-600 W for a replacement hard drive, but you want to know what additional connections are required and ensure that the food get you has those which are available in both the type and the number.

There is no guarantee that any parts added to a system will be compatible, and as it is your system is not compatible if only on the question of food.

Please let me know if this is useful, and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • ENVY 750-197c: still cannot successfully connect to wifi?

Hello! I received my new desktop PC (a 750-197 c ENVY) probably about two weeks ago. Since then, I was not able to connect to wifi. The office came with Win 10 which I really didn't yet, so I went down to Win 8. After not being is not able to connect to wifi, I returned to win 10. I could not even connect. The connection attempt process seemed worst in 10 to win, because I have never managed to connect anytime, unlike Win 8 where I could connect perhaps at some super random time briefly for a minute I did my research and checked in high and low for the solutions to the problem. Convenience stores would often come with nothing, or some problems such as:

    • "'one or more network protocols are missing on this computer ' (only on 10 to win)"
    • "default gateway is not available" (On the two 10 Win & Win 8)

After trying everything, including the netsh commands and update drivers, I was still not able to connect so I bought an external USB (Belkin N300) adapter to test things in case there was a problem with my computer built into the adapter (Intel(r) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165). I also had to come back to Win 8 given that the new adapter is not compatible with Win 10. I noticed a difference after the installation of the USB adapter - wifi will be done 'connect' now and show 5 bars of signal strength. However, the connection is still not usable. I'll every few minutes or so get a yellow triangle on the network icon and after a repair I will no more no results or one of:

    • "default gateway is not available" (Which Windows will fix in the troubleshooter, but don't always give no internet)
    • "windows cannot communicate with the device or resource (primary DNS server).
    • "your computer seems to be configured correctly, but the device or resource (DNS server) does not.

Other times there a yellow triangle but once again, still not usable. I feel at this stage, there is a problem somewhere with perhaps the computer settings? Connect my internet real and router works fine. My other devices connect correctly, including my laptop in the same room with this desktop computer. I tried to reset my router, but it does not solve the problem. I checked that the adapter is configured to obtain the address IP and DNS server automatically, which is. I also tried the netsh commands

    Spoiler (Highlight to read)
    ipconfig/release
    ipconfig/all
    ipconfig/flushdns
    ipconfig / renew

    netsh int ip set dns
    netsh winsock reset
/releaseipconfig ipconfig/all command /flushdns ipconfig ipconfig / renew netsh int ip set dns netsh winsock reset

still nothing. I really need help to fix this and would be grateful for any help!

    Hi there @KianaLofton,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  I understand that, after the decommissioning of your system of Windows 8, you have had problems with the WiFi connection and probably the drivers.  I'm happy to help you with this.

Looking at your previous posts, I feel that Wifi was working before the downgrade of the OS.  Did you by chance do plant a set of recovery discs for your system before moving on to Windows 8?  If this isn't the case, then you want to maybe get a game to the reference level of the system to the factory installation and see if it works again, then we can know that the issue is all about software and drivers, and there isn't an underlying hardware problem.  Computers HP - get HP recovery disks or HP USB recovery disc

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • ENVY 750-197c: unable to connect to WIFI after downgrading to win 10?

So I just bought a HP ENVY 750-197c desktop computer and the first thing I did when the establishment was downgrade 10 Windows of Windows 8, which worked very well. However, now I am not able to detect the connections/connect to WIFI on the computer. I guess it's because I need to update or get the correct drivers. However, I can't know which ones I need. When I look at the Download Center here on the site and go to the list of drivers for this model of computer, there is no option to select the drivers for Windows 8. Instead, there are only options for Windows 7 and Windows 10. How am I supposed to download the right drivers, I need? Which?

  • Desktop HP Envy 750-114: do I need a new monitor or graphics card?

I have a HP Envy Office 750-114 and a HP. V242h color monitor, etc. on the monitor are flat, dull and almost gray. It has been like that since we have the computer about a year ago. I've tweaked the contrast, etc., on the screen and it's a little better, but still not very good.

So, is it a new graphics card for the computer, or a new monitor? I'm afraid that if I buy a new monitor, it'll be the same, dull and flat.

If a new graphics card is required, which would be a good thing, and I need a new power supply?

My son loves to make games, one that is good for the games would be better.

    Thanks in advance!

I did experiment a bit and partially answered my own question. I removed the monitor in question (HP V242h) and hooked it to another computer. What a world of difference! So I don't think it's the monitor, but the graphics card.

If a modified question: what would be a good graphics card for my HP Envy Office 750-114? One that enhances the display and provides the best game? Also, would need a new power supply?

    Thanks again in advance!

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

Thank you very much for the help - I really appreciate it.

So, I bought a new graphics card - graphics of 750 Genforce GTX ti, as my old HP Elite had an AMD Radeon 6700, while I was trying to get an equivalent to him for my new HP Envy, since AMD card was not compatible with the motherboard.

The 'tech' guy, said it would make a difference of 25% - the graphics card GTX AGAIN, that what came with the HP Envy 730 GT map - and especially good for photos.

But, please let me know your thoughts. Don't you think it's a value-wile put this card in? Maybe I'd better return the card and put it toward a new laptop, since both of my laptops died at.

Thank you once again, all the details would be really nice

I am to buy HP Envy 750-114 and upgrade with a graphics card.  The one I found is low power, so it will be fine with the 300 watt power supply that comes with 750-114 envy.

  • HP Envy 750-129ns: HP 750-129ns & Windows 7

Recently bought a new Tower and I have a HP 750-129ns and upon arrival, I realized, it has not come with any windows installed. I'm not a fan of Windows 10 and and thought that I would stick with 7.
I had problems to install, immediately after their installation windows load and the option to choose language appears my keyboard and mouse do not work. Ive read online that it's because win7 start do not recognize USB3 and the easiest way is to disable the USB 3 in bios until installation is complete. So is it possible in the 750 HP envy bios? As mine is in Spanish but I can't do so if they is an option to set provide the USB3.
Thanks for any help that you can provide, this is driving me crazy.
    Alex

    Hey, Alex:

The problem with your PC is the chipset Skylake and lack of USB3 drivers in your windows installation media.

Skylake chipset does not have USB2 support until after you have installed the chipset driver.

The solution to your dilemma is to run this tool on a PC with W8.1 or W10.

There is a readme instruction link (found in the section release notes), which will provide you with the information that needed to get the W7 to install on your PC.

  • HP envy 750: attempt to add to new PC SATA drive

You want new 750-150xt to which I want to add my old Pavilion 6380 640 GB SATA drive.  6380 road was only the disk and the disk to boot under Windows 7 64-bit.  Envy has a 256GB SSD as boot drive and a data HD 1 TB drive.

Pulled out of 6380 and added to the Bay, third player hooked up a new "SATA3" on MB black SATA cable and power cable to the drive then gave.  Noticed in passing that my SATA cable did not have a ground wire wrapped with her which was attached to the chassis of the new PC.

By turning on the PC, it would not go beyond the HP splash screen.   Disconnected former player and removed, and the envy of 150 started very well except the logon screen "grated" for 1-2 seconds, then stabilized.  Seems to work normally.

FYI - SATA3 socket on MB was a red taken versus black and only available SATA labeled sockets.  Others were all occupied.

    Any thoughts?

So what is the connected CD drive? Must be the SATA 2. If she jumps from the 1 SATA to SATA 3 something should be available here. The question is not only the availability of a place to connect, it is that the software has progressed where you were with this player and Windows 8/10 uses a completely different approach to find and boot from hard drives.
