783-old Pavilion xe...

I have an OLD Pavilion xe-783.  He needs a power button.  It is impossible to descend the framework before you trace the wires back to the pins on the map.  can someone tell me... or send me a photo... whose two pins on the motherboard are those that the switch plugs on?

I don't have the machine in front of me now.

Thank you

I'm going to replace the battery of the BIOS on old Pavilion my mother 751n.  What I don't know, is what will happen: will I need to Flash the BIOS (because, for example, there no information because the battery died a long time ago), or the BIOS on Board will be still intact?  It still will automatically detect what are the devices on the computer (including a video card and a new hard drive; the old drive hard doesn't have a CHIP checked and no longer boots, and I'll restore the PC to Žtat via recovery CD after installation of a much larger disk).  He will recognize that the RAM of the computer has been quadrupled during its original specifications?

In short, I have to do something special, once I replaced the CMOS battery to avoid having a difficult time in the computer?

    Hello

None of these things should be a problem.

Video is automatically disabled. The BIOS does not care what the material is in the slots PCI, CD-ROM etc.

They will all be rediscovered and everything should work.

What I mean by changing the default value is if you have changed the default boot in something else, order etc.

    Hello

Try to follow the procedure at the title of the subheading "Let fix me it myself" on the link below to delete the upper and lower filters and see if that helps the issue.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/982116

Then, click on the Start Menu, open Control Panel and click Device Manager.  Click to open the CD/DVD-ROM drives.  Right-click on the drive and choose uninstall.  Do not delete if requested drivers.  When the device has been uninstalled click the icon 'Search for hardware changes' (usually just below help in the toolbar).  Let windows reinstall the disc and see if it works now.

  • Need to connect a monitor to an old HP Pavilion workstation

I have an old Pavilion Desktop. I'm trying to connect a monitor ViewSonic work «» The screen is dark. Computer seems to work very well. There is a green light on the front. I wouldn't be able to do this without having to first install drivers?

cdyrek wrote: I tried to adjust the brightness, etc. Also, tried the monitor on another computer and it works. Didn't just work on the HP Double. checked cables, cords power, everything of fine. Do you think that the computer itself is the problem?

Hello cdyrek, if you check the monitor works on another computer, it must be the old system that has the problem.

I'd like to see what the video card the old system and try to locate the video drivers for the video device.

There most probably an on-board video. If it is not the case, you may be able to add a video card and see if it will work properly.

    Just a thought.

  • Pavilion all-in-one Q214 23: factory restore on the new HP Pavilion all in one computer

I have a week 6 old Pavilion Desktop all-in-one.  I wanted to do a factory install on it because I had a lot of extra things that I don't want anymore, I installed and I thought what a factory restore would be better.  I went to the HP Recovery Manager and no where in the choices he said 'factory restore '.  He used to have this option in the HP recovery environment.  I checked all the options and nothing on the factory restore.  I made a set of recovery discs, but I always remember that HP still had the opportunity to do a factory restore.  I have tried F11 and F8 and no luck.

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome!

According to the model of the computer, it can not be called exactly the HP system recovery but if your computer is originally shipped with Windows preinstalled 10, recovery partition must be present.

S ' Please, first manually copy your imporant most of the data on an external partition

-Follow these instructions here to open the collection from inside Windows

'S called it Reset - Windows Reset with options to RESET the machine as long as the plant (remove all), with an option to "freshen up" Windows and keep personal files.

  • Pavilion DV6-3240Br: 4313 Broadcom driver for windows 10

    Hello

I have an old Pavilion DV6 3240Br and just upgraded to windows 10. Unfortunately, I can't find a driver for my system. HP said that it will not develop specific drivers for my device. It uses a broadcom 4313gn 802.11b/g/n wireless card. There is a driver (maybe another portable model) that works with this broadcom card in 10 x 64 windows?

  • HP Pavilion Notebook - V2Z46AV: can I upgrade my CPU in a HP Pavilion 17?

I have a feeling that this 6300hq of 2.3 GHz i5 is not going to get me very far.  I was wondering if my specific model has been upgraded and if so, what processor I could install.  I did work on my old Pavilion 15, the replacement of the CPU and RAM, so I think that I am able to upgrade myself.

In addition, my CPU is bottlenecking my GPU, that is a problem that I use the laptop for games.  I currently have the GTX 960 m 2 GB, if you think I'm wrong.

The manual is enigmatic at best but if you have read and worked with some of them and made a swap processor or 2, it is obvious that the CPU is soldered to the motherboard. Dead giveaway: no lising processor as spare part. Second gift dead: no image to remove the processor. S. 51 of the manual shows a representation of the fo processor soldered on. 3rd dead... do the replacement motherboard description includes the processor included with Office. See p. 52. The best motherboard with i7 and 4 gig of video memory and Windows 10 is 857389-601

HP does not have it in stock:

First, take out the HARD drive and put the screws to the right to maintain and replace the HARD drive and reboot again. It could be that the missing screws causing the HARD drive vibrates too and make the heads and causing the HARD drive having problems.

  • Pavilion: Support recovery - so frustrated!

My 13 month old Pavilion had a complete hard drive failure.  He was replaced by Best Buy (two weeks out of warranty) so that the cost of the hard drive... but HP says I have to pay for the recovery media.  I get that he died two weeks too late and they stand by their product after the window of 12 months... but I need to pay for the recovery media to never use their product?  Is it his right or have I missed a place where I can access the media I need to get up and running?  This week two outside the warranty thing makes me sick.  The supplement is just me then once I'm down. Anyone know of any other option?

And Yes, I know now that I had to create the recovery media myself.  I did not start the system... I'm just in the face of his untimely death.  (But I did run home and create a backup for my personal systems recovery media.  (Thank you!)

  • Pavilion dv7-3101sa: upgrade Hp-Paviliondv7-3101sa

Welcome and thank you for spending your time to read my post, I hope you can help me

So, I got my old Pavilion dv7 3101sa and I was wondering if you could tell me what are the ebst options to upgrade.

What is the best SSD hard drive that I could buy? Is there a difference between the SSD hard drivers?
I have 4 GB of ram and I want to move to 8 GB is there any higher frequency should I buy?
And could you tell me what is the best processor that can run my laptop?
And the final question is anyway to upgrade GPU?

Here are all the tabs screen shoots when I run CPU - Z on the laptop.

    Thank you for reading

This is the top of the page processor:

    AMD Turion™ X 2 Ultra Dual-Core M640 35 - W, 2.60 GHz with 2 MB of L2 cache

No triple or quadruple-heart is compatible. The upgrade would you take of 2.3 ghz with a cache L2 1 MB to 2.6 ghz with 2 MB L2 cache memory.

    Your service Manual

Given that these processors are more desirable, they got dirt cheap:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/new-AMD-Turion-II-Ultra-M640-TMM640DBO23GQ-Mobile-CPU-/330723025336?hash=item4d00a0e1b8:m:m5a6tYBEaA24irFN - dHb5vg

For $32, I would upgrade. Keep in mind, none of this will help games performance at all. You have integrated graphics card Radeon 4350 UMA which is unimpressive to say the least. The SSD will give you faster boot time and better performance of the app and the 8 GB of RAM would you allow to run other things at the same time. Spend you all this money and do all this work and then be always wanting something better, I predict.

  • Pavilion dv4 - 1228 portable ca - unrecognized mSATA

    Hi guys:

I had little critical m4 mSATA SSD 32 GB. Pluged in there and... Oops... it was not recognized by the BIOS or the operating system [Vista] on my old Pavilion dv4 laptop - 1228ca... What gives? Any advice is welcome...

Where you plug it in? Page 65 of this manual... the WWAN slot?

    Manual

I do not think that the slot will work with a WSSD... it's only for WWAN. I don't think that your phone is configured to accept a card of the WSSD.

  • Pavilion PC 40f d61: WiFi adapters network for Windows Vista and Windows 7 64-bit download

I just bought a new Pavilion with 10 Windows, but I would like to use my old Pavilion d61 40f PC (currently with Windows Vista, but soon be upgraded to Windows 7) in another part of my house, using a Wi - Fi connection.  I get the message "the ability of your network adapter does not match the requirements of this network."  From what I understand, I need to download PROWin64.exe to have a network adapter that is compatible with Vista.  My problem is that I can't download it if I don't already have an internet connection.  It can be downloaded to a flash drive and if so, how?

I have the cable for internet and television and I tried to unplug the modem from my TV and don't connect using a cable ethernet at the back of the computer and a telephone jack, but still had no connection.

If it is not obvious, I am a tech novice, an explanation with as much detail as possible would be greatly appreciated.

New card arrived? Hope to hear your problem has been resolved by the latter.
