Pavilion: Support recovery - so frustrated!

My 13 month old Pavilion had a complete hard drive failure.  He was replaced by Best Buy (two weeks out of warranty) so that the cost of the hard drive... but HP says I have to pay for the recovery media.  I get that he died two weeks too late and they stand by their product after the window of 12 months... but I need to pay for the recovery media to never use their product?  Is it his right or have I missed a place where I can access the media I need to get up and running?  This week two outside the warranty thing makes me sick.  The supplement is just me then once I'm down. Anyone know of any other option?

And Yes, I know now that I had to create the recovery media myself.  I did not start the system... I'm just in the face of his untimely death.  (But I did run home and create a backup for my personal systems recovery media.  (Thank you!)

  • Resolved on Pavilion P6267 recovery problem

You probably will not see my previous post because I think that I added it to a question, rather than to make a post - you know how we newbies are. I was able to solve the problem of not being able to make a pf my Pavilion P6267 recovery because I got was a black screen when I pressed F9 at startup. I found that, under control panel, recovery, recovery tools advanced, there is the possibility of creating a recovery disk. The option supports only USB memory sticks, so had better have a couple on hand :-) Of course I didn't read it that closely at first, and I jumped my CD in the drive and waited, waited and waited. Then I went back and read that he needed a memory stick. Boy, I felt stupid. Well, I think I'm getting better started on recovery. I have to stay up tonight until it is done, the necessary program installed, the database for this program on one of 5 external hard drives and the latest medical data for 2013 entered in the database because my husband wants to do taxes this weekend. Since we had more than $20 000.00 sundries (right, the company paid more than $ 1 million), we really need to be able to get this information back, then quickly, so that we can apply it to the tax return. Have a nice weekend - after finding this recovery option, the mine will be certainly more pleasant it looked like about 30 minutes ago! Janice

  • Pavilion p6610: recovery program Restore Points is no longer works after AOL System Mechanic ran on my computer

I have Pavilion p6610 desktop Win 7 Home premium 64 bit I have cleaned my computer, tune, Defrag, ran MS fixit, ran malware removal, called internet provider for bad connection (buffering, etc.) they said it was a software program interfering with my ability to computers to have full access to the output of my modem , (only 2 bars on the taskbar icon) so I gave in and decided to try the AOL System Mechanic. Ran all the tools last night, then stop. I tried to open documents of MS today (15/10/2015) will not open. Could not open one of my components of the Microsoft Office 2010 Starter program.  Canceled AOL system mechanic. Removed uninstalled from my system.  Tried 3 different restore point dates back to the 27/09/2015.  None worked. Can't use my program of recovery restore point!

I don't want to have to reformat and start all over again. I thought that AOL Sys.Mech done something in the registry that messed with the start of Microsoft Office 2010 (can't find a more free?) but why we don't joke about my restore points?  I can't restore anything from my computer.  I don't know if something's going to come to work anymore. How can I fix it?

Thanks for any help you can provide...

    Hi @TY965

I understand that you are not able to use restore points, and that you are having problems with a certain software factory installed on your HP System. I'm happy to help you with this.

As a first step, you can try using the Recovery Manager and see if the software is among those available from your original image to install instead of a full factory image installation. See the following document that shows how to do this.

Computers HP - using Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 7)

Then, to the question of the restoration of the system, maybe try to use SFC/scannow, as described below. The second page includes more specific details to a problem of system restore.

Use the File Checker system to repair missing or corrupted system files - support.microsoft.com

    Difficulty: System Restore does not not in Windows 10 / 8 / 7 -thewindowsclub.com

I would like to know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, then please mark this message as a solution. Kudos are also becoming popular.

  • Pavilion a1203w recovery

I was doing a recovery on my Hp Pavilion a1203w with the HP recovery discs and disc 1 installation the computer was switched off accidentally, now when he started runs automatically to disk 1 and don't never stop even if the disk is in our. also, now the keyboard does not work so that I can change the options of ESC, F1 or on other sectors. The computer will not beyond commissioning. Any suggestions on what to do...

It might be fun to fix this, but it is indeed questionable. Support for Win XP (the a1203w is circa 2005) ends 08/04/2014. If you have a project, the only way to start-over would be pre format the hard drive. Because it's an EIDE/PATA, you can use this adapter to get in shape. I hope that the operating system will then install.

  • HP Pavilion g7 recovery questions

    Hello

I plan to do a factory reset on my HP Pavilion g7, because the pilots somehow began to disturb, reinstall the original drivers does not resolve this problem, so I have a few questions:

How do I know that the recovery programs were not damaged, while I won't have problems when the recovery is complete?

I have updated BIOS with HP Support Manager a month ago, the recovery also moved the original driver for BIOS?

I can make the recovery of a battery in the laptop or I have to remove and do as the tank adapter?

How long it takes for this process to be done (approx.)?

Can I keep recovery (D and HP_TOOLS (E after recovery?))

This recovery will really put me on the language selection screen, after it's done and instal lall, the pilots and the original software?

Do I need Internet while doing a recovery?

    Please help me.

How do I know that the recovery programs were not damaged, while I won't have problems when the recovery is complete? Use recovery disk series or usb recovery media that you should have right there.

I have updated BIOS with HP Support Manager a month ago, the recovery also moved the original driver for BIOS? A recovery will have no effect on the BIOS.

I can make the recovery of a battery in the laptop or I have to remove and do as the tank adapter? No recoveries with the AC adapter.

How long it takes for this process to be done (approx.)? Depends on the media you use. If you use a usb recovery media is fast enough. Maybe an hour. If you use recovery DVD, so maybe it will take two hours or more. If you perform a recovery from Windows, you may have one or two hours.

Can I keep recovery (D and HP_TOOLS (E after recovery?)) It would be a wise thing to do. Consider the fact that neither score is actually a lot of space on your hard drive.

This recovery will really put me on the language selection screen, after it's done and instal lall, the pilots and the original software? the recovery will be in the default language for portable computer was shipped with. It will install the drivers, but not necessarily all applications. and then it also depends on the type of recovery you have chosen.

Do I need Internet while doing a recovery? No.

    Please help me.

  • Windows 8 Pavilion g6 recovery disk

I am unable to create a recovery disc for HP Pavilion g6.  Can only run in safe mode, can't run the system restore or recovery without getting the error code 80070490.

If I do not run in Office safe mode keeps flashing market and I can't access anything. This question seemed to occur immediately after a windows update.

Is it possible to create recovery discs using another model HP running Windows 7?

When you request support, please provide the number full name or product model of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq made thousands of computer models. Without this information, it can be difficult, even impossible to help you solve your problem.

The information requested above are on the bottom of your computer, inside the battery compartment or on the BIOS boot screen. Please DO NOT include your serial number. Please enter the product/model information consumer HP Online Support page and post it here for our review.

NO, it is not possible to create a recovery media HP for this model on a different computer. When you first set up your computer, you must have created your personal HP recovery media. If you don't create HP recovery media, please contact the official HP support in your region / country, via the HP portal to support all over the world, to see if the HP recovery support is available for your computer.

Have you tried "F11" or "ESC" and "F11" to the power upward? Have you tried a Windows Update, reset or restore via the options of UEFI?

  • Pavilion g6 - Recovery Kit

I had problems with my laptop, so I decided to restore it to factory settings.

My laptop isn't a recovery partition or service such as HP Recovery Manager HP programs.

So, I decided to order a Kit recovery for my laptop.

I wonder what it comes with?

Just 3 recovery disks, or something like a guide that will take me through the process of restoring my laptop with the disks, because I never did a factory restore also myself (and want to learn).

In the download the software & driver Support, I found this for my laptop:

    DVD - Windows 7 SP1 64 b + Supp 2 Recovery Kit

    2011-12-08, VersionN/A

System Recovery Kit for Consumer Notebook (3 discs)

    HP Pavilion g6-1d28dx

    Product number: A6Y41UA #ABA

    Windows 7 64 bit

    Mkan, welcome to the forum.

Here is the "System Recovery / backup / restore" page of the notebook.  I think that you find the information you need to do the recovery.  If your laptop does not work well, be sure to make a backup of your personal data.

  • Pavilion dvd6: recovery disk

    Hello

Is there anyone with the answer, why the recovery on my computer disc seems almost full. Is that how it should be?

    Thank you in advance.

    Expert /not/, G

The HP Support forum is for all levels of PC knowledge.  We hope to help you learn more about your laptop.

I'll post a picture bit that shows what should look like a recovery partition.

In Windows Explorer, click this computer. The following image shows how the recovery partition should look like. It should be blue, not red and display the free space. This image is my current loan of the product HP Omen 15-5000 series gaming notebook.

The following image shows what the recovery partition should look like on the inside. Avoid all other files there.  If there is, you can safely remove them. The result of their deletion will be that any warning error message goes away and the color changes from red to blue.
