I have a laptop 2c25dx 2000, and I hated window 8 so I tried to install Windows 7 but did not work.

Readers are all deleted so how can I reinstall window 8? I don't have any drive in my possession.

Help, please.

Hello:

You will need to contact HP for the country that you live in the link below and see if you can order a set of W8 recovery disks.

http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/contact-HP/WW-contact-us.html

Looking at the specifications of product for your laptop, it should be very easy to install W7 x 64 on your model.

You would use all the W7 x 64 drivers and the software of this 2000 HP model on the link below.

  • Windows Upgrade Assistant 10 stuck at 99% with < 5 hours left!

Help, please!  I was stuck on 99% of the hours now and there are theoretically less than 5 hours left to complete the update.  I hear people say, "let him finish", but I've also heard that MS is saying that the entire process MUST be complete before 5: 59 EDT, 30/07/2016 so that Windows 10 be considered free.  I don't want to get stuck in some purgatory between Windows 7 and 10, because the installer gave up before he finished.

If the upgrade of Windows 10 Assistant becomes blocked or unresponsive to different percentages: 0%, 32%, 62%, 87%, 99%, please wait at least 4 to 7 hours. If the installation program does not progress, close the wizard and restart your computer. Follow the instructions to upgrade manually by using the tool of creation of media or file ISO for Windows 10.

Keep in mind that if the person seeking assistance uses a router (instead of connecting directly to the modem), then you will need to redirect port configuration.  The request when she sends uses the IP address of his computer, but that the IP is not always accessible to the public.  For example, IP address of my PC is 192.168.0.4 (the 4th computer on my network at the present time), and this address cannot be used to connect to my PC.  You know my public IP address, so, I need the configuration of port forwarding to direct your incoming connection to my public address during my internal IP address (called traversal NAT, or network address translation).

There is a reason, I generally recommend free tools that use HTTP transport instead, like Team Viewer app free (for personal use).

  • How can I get the Easy Connect feature in Windows Remote Assistance to work?

I am using the Easy Connect feature in Windows Remote Assistance and he tells me that he 'could not connect on the peer-to-peer network. Both computers are running Windows 7, but I don't even get the chance to say even the computer that I want to. I'm not on a corporate network and the Easy Connect function works fine on three other computers on my home network, including two run Home Premium and other professionals, so it may not be a problem with my router. My computer works professional. I tried to use it on wireless and wired. My computer, as well as others, I tried it on, use Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Firewall. Among the computers on which I tried it as well as mine works µTorrent. All computers run Fomine NetSent GUI. Two of the other computers I've tried on and my own running LogMeIn. I checked the Remote Assistance settings on my computer and it is allowed. I don't know what else might be able to do this!

  • VMware Fusion supports by using windows remote assistance?

VMware Fusion supports by using windows remote assistance? If so, some can give me how to proceed. I can't make it work in fusion. I have to stop and start Vista in bootcamp for windows remote assistance work. Thanks in advance for your answer.

OK, so I installed Vista 64 bit Windows in a virtual machine.

It loaded up, went ' start > Help and Support > Windows Remote Assistance'

The guest came, I asked save the invitation to a file.

Has taken this copied file there to my computer mac desktop, then on my XP VM.

Double clicked on it from XP (and two virtual machines)

It connected and starts fine, succeeded in part of the screen and the lot.

The only things I've done in the machine was Vista disable UAC and the firewall.

My bet is that it is the firewall.  Could be UAC, but I have just disabled to avoid boredom of ' are you sure you clicked right on what you clicked just?  REALLY REALLY sure? "

  • WINDOWS HP AssistaNT AND 8.1

I have a HP Pavilion mod 500-164.  It came with Windows 8.  I upgraded to 8.1 Windows so I could launch Norton Internet Security, which is not compatible with Windows 8.

A few weeks later, I get a message from the assistant HP telling me that my PC has not been tested with WIndows 8.1 and I may have compatibility problems.  It asks me to enter my product number and he will experience compatibility.  I entered the product number and nothing happens.  I then tried having HP detect the number.  He gets a short drive in the process crashes then.   No error message.

My PC seems to work OK and I have not yet known compatibility problems.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi RGH406,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your HP Pavilion 500 desktop computer and the HP Support Assistant giving an error message. I would like to uninstall the HP Support Assistant, and here is a link to download and reinstall it.

    It will be useful.

  • LAUNCH WINDOWS WITHOUT ASSISTANCE CANNOT START

I have a Pavilion p6347c running Windows 7.  He plays very well, but, since yesterday, I am unable to run windows without pressing ESC and by selecting the manual start option.  It happened from one moment to another.  This has happened every time since the problem began.  I've removed the new software I had installed a few hours before, it crashed; but I am still unable to start windows without a manual start.  Once, just before the screen went black, I think the system was pouring out and I saw a guest who doesn't say 'NO DISC SYSTEM.'

I tried to use the default system drive, but it did not work.  It works only when I select the first drive listed when you press ESC to start, which has a bunch of letters and numbers.

Someone told me that it might have something to do with my BIOS which might have gotten corrupted.  Does anyone have an idea how this can be fixed?  Appreciate any assistance.

I've tried several things, but what actually works, it of that I rebooted, press F10 to go in the BIOS, press F5 to reset the default settings of the system, then F10 to save and exit. That worked for me and my system is now Purring like kitten. Good luck.

  • How default search instead of Windows Search Assistant?

Using XP. Windows Search has been installed with a recent update of the Windows desktop. I use other software for indexing as most of my documents files, binary no text or word. I disabled indexing, but "Windows Search" is always the default when I select "Search for" in a Windows Explorer window.

I can pick him 'click here to use the Search Assistant' at the bottom of the window, but I would have preferred that search companion is the DEFAULT search method.

What do I need to 'twist' to get the default return Research Assistant?

I found the answer here, and it has worked great for me.

    http://www.ehow.com/how_5473226_make-instead-Windows-desktop-search.html

I did have to uninstall Windows Desktop Search.  The change is taken into account, you may need to restart your PC.

The instructions at the above URL address are as follows:

1 log into Windows as a power user or administrator - you need elevated privileges to access the registry editor.

    2. open my computer or Windows Explorer. Expand your C: drive. Right click on the Program Files folder, and then select "search".

    3. Windows Desktop Search (WDS) opens. In the lower left of the screen you will see "this folder is not indexed. Click on the "...". Please use Search Companion"link to open the Wizard search. This step ensures that the necessary registry value is created.

    4. close the Windows Search Companion and WDS.

    5. click on the Windows Start, then "Run" button (or press WINDOWS + R keys on your keyboard.) In the open dialog box, type REGEDIT, and then click OK. The Registry Editor opens.

    6. to change the setting for all users of the computer, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Desktop Search\DS.
To change the setting for the current user only account, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Desktop Search\DS.

    7. in the right pane, double-click the item "ShowStartSearchBand". In the value data field, change the '1' '0 '. Click OK, and then close the registry editor.

    8. now when you right click on a folder in Explorer and select 'Search', the Search Companion window opens instead of WDS.
