9171 OR + 9402 jitter meter

I need to generate a couple of digital pulses, the output of the counter will be fine.

What pulse width accuracy and jitter can I get when using the measuring system 9401/9402 (9171 cDAQ chassis + module 9401/9402)?

Is it determined by the frame counter (80 MHz = 12.5 ns) or 9401/9402 outputs digital maximum frequency (20/10 MHz = 50/100 LV)?

You can use the time base of 80 MHz for the meter and send it to the 9402.

Best regards

  • cDAQ-9181 with NI 9402: after the first cycle of meter reading lack certain counts in all subsequent cycles.

    Hello

I'm reading pulses TTL of a generator of service using a meter. I apply a 1 kHz signal to the meter. Each time counter reads the pulses correctly in the first cycle of measure, but it lacks some counts in all subsequent cycles.

I use NEITHER 9181 cDAQ chassis and NI 9402 module with 2014 LabVIEW and NI Max 14.0.

My computer has the Windows 8.1 operating system.

Please find the VI joint and the front image after EXECUTION.

I also used the same VI with chassis USB cDAQ-9171 . Results have been improved, but the same problem persists.

What could be the reason for this, please guide.

    Thank you!

    1. the loop time is defined by software and therefore won't be compatible.

    2. you restart the meter patch between each iteration of loop - so that the task is restarted, it does not take samples.  The new start is faster on the USB device from the device ethernet due to the latency of the lower bus, so that explains why the behavior is improved on the 9171 compared to the 9181.

Using method 2 meter would be a clever way (maybe too smart...) to implement which, according to me, you are looking:

This will configure a second counter (ctr0 is paired with ctr1, ctr2 is paried with ctr3) to generate a signal of a period known (time measurement).  The meter is taken into account the number of external pulses during this period, and since we are because data in terms of 'Ticks', it will give you the number that occurred during the measurement time.  This measure is repeated for the specified number of Cycles without software-timing or latency between cycles.

The appeal of reading will have a time-out value long enough to ensure that all cycles have completed (or you can query to see if the task is made first of all to give the user the option to cancel the measure).

  • County of gated cDAQ-9188 edges with NOR-9402

Hello! This discussion is a branch of it.

Shortly, I want to count the random impulses of a meter of photons, which emits pulses that when her door is activated (and this should be done in a manner expected by HW), only when the door is active.

I separated this task in two: in timing HW emit pulses of door and to count the edges when the door is active. For the second task, I created a VI:

those who are more experienced could please tell me, if I do it in a right way? I'm a little confused on how to connect my device: random TTL of the photon counter should go to ctr0 PFI0 (in NOR-9402 this is the PIN 0) and what I generte of the first task (in fact, pulse clocked by HW) door and then must be connected to the terminal of the door of my meter (left unwired above) both at the entrance of the gate of the photon counter... There must be a mistake in the present, I guess that (otherwise I have to divide a wire giving my first task output and connect it to the PFI1 and at the counter of photons of entry door).

In your implementation of the second example, you have selected Ctr2Source as the sample clock, instead, you must use Ctr2InternalOutput.

The way I read your initial post, it sounded as if you wanted to limit the count while the low door signal.  However, if the photon counter does not export the pulses during this time, it would be unnecessary to set up the break.  Indeed, as you said it would be undesirable to do so.

To change the examples I posted to count regardless of the State of the portal, you can do the following modificaitons:

Example 1: Change the task to a task period pulse width (and the corresponding property node).

Example 2: Remove the break.  Change the sample clock to sample on the shores of the Levant.

So now you will be pointing the samples on each rising edge of the gate signal.  The count represents the number of photons during the previous impulse of the door.  The returned data will be slightly different depending on the approach you take - sample-clocked version will return a sample on the first rising edge (which should read a counter to '0') where the period version will not return this example.

  • Measurement of frequency with the NI 9402

Has anyone successfully was able to measure the frequency in SignalExpress with the NI 9402 module? I have the 9402 connected to a tachometer (on a centrifuge) which puts a TTL signal. For now, I can get the light input line to work. (Right click on the project, acquire signals: DAQmx Acquire: digital input: input line.) When the tachometer completes the first round, light or the 'blip' lights indicating the sensor then goes back to the shore for the rest of the round. I would like to read the frequency of this "blip" instead. I can't understand the required parameters in Signal Express. I tried (right-click project, acquire signals: DAQmx Acquire: entry of meter: frequency) but maybe I do not have the correct settings. This centrifuge works usually between 0 and 3 hz. I have attached a picture of what I have. I am doing this correctly, with incorrect parameters? Or is there a better way to do this? I need to read Hertz over time. Thank you!

    Hi Choover,

Even if you use the 0 meter to measure frequency, your singal acts at the door of the on-board clock source to measure the length (and thus frequency).  This is why you must use PF1 to connect to the door of the meter.  You can learn more about how DAQmx takes measurements of meter in any manual of cDAQ chassis: http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/websearch/2C061605E17C7D04862578D200677B90

  • 9402 internal counters/timers?

    Hello

The NI 9402 has an internal counter/timer?

The description of the product on the web page says that's, however the manual so that it does not mention a counter/timer.

Other web searches only refer to a counter/timer, when it is installed in a chassis.

If not, can anyone recommend a USB DAQ for monitor 4 streams (5V, up to 100 kHz) pulse rate?

    Thank you

    Erik

    Hi Erik,

The documentation is a bit difficult - the important thing to note is that the 9402 cannot be used with a USB socket: NI C Series Module compatibility chart. I recommend to visit the DAQ homepage and search by bus and meter number. It seems to me that you can possibly use USB 6501 which has 24 DIO lines, 1 counter and can read in at a rate of up to 5 MHz (and it is a mere $99).  If you need a little more which is always close to your price range, you can upgrade to the swankier USB 6210.  Hope that helps!

  • Calculate RPM using NI 9402

I'm looking for my first simple Labview DAQ project, if I am more comfortable with Signal Express.

My torque sensor has a +/-5V, output speed 60 pulses/turn. The speed will be up to 200 rpm, so I myself turned to a NI 9402 module high speed IO digital for my CompactDAQ chassis. When I used DAQ Assistent to configure the meter, he said that there is no device supported found. Is there a code that is easy to calculate shaft rpm with the 9402 configured as a digital input?

    Thank you

You use a cDAQ-9172 chassis?  If so, your NI 9402 must be in the location 5 or 6 to use any feature of the meter.  This restriction does not exist for the new chassis.  Try to move the module to one of these slots.  You should now be able to select channels of meter using the DAQ Assistant.

  • Frequency of measurement with cDAQ NI 9402 chopper

    Hello world

I'm new in the world of the cDAQ and try now just get a frequency of a TTL signal output chopper.  I confirmed 23 Hz frequency on an oscilloscope.  It's a nice clean 5V square wave, but when I try to measure the frequency in labview using a VI (dig frequency of continuous measurement) example, it comes to expire.  Trying to look at the entrance of the signal in express shows signal an incompatible digital signal that is around 3 Hz and clearly the result of the port being interviewed for entry too rarely.  The final objective is to get this work with the labview vi PLL is a detector lock in the amplifier, but first of all, I have to be able to measure and to read correctly this frequency.

My hardware is a cDAQ-9174 with a 9402 OR for use with the digital input.  I don't know it's important, but the 9402 module is in slot 3 and I'm on channel 0.  The software is labview 8.2 with DAQmx 9.1.  Is there some timing issue material or the definition of I'm missing here?  Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

    Hi Skaboss,

Counters have multiple terminals (source, the door in and out), which map to separate on your NI 9402 PFI lines. For the measurement of the frequency, the default input terminal depends on the method of measurement (low frequency, high frequency, wide range). Here's the relevant section of the NOR-DAQmx help (which is on the Start Menu):

The following table lists the default input for various measures of meter terminals. You can use a different line of the PFI for one of the input terminals. To edit the entry PFI for a measurement, use channel NOR-DAQmx attributes/properties.

  • How to speed up loop DAQ triggered using NOR cDAQ-9174 with NOR-9215 and NOR-9402

    Hello

    I use LV2010 and NOR-DAQmx 9.2.2. I have a NOR cDAQ-9174 with a NEITHER-9215 4 channel 100 k simultaneous ADC and NOR-9402 4 channel DIO module trigger and reset.

    We run WinXP sp3 on a Dell M4400 core 2 duo @2. 26 Ghz.

I used the code example NI DAQmx for acquisition of tension with trigger HW. My goal is to try all 4 channels on the 9215 simultaneously when a trigger is received on channel 0 of the 9402, after data is read, I use channel 1 on the 9402 to reset the trigger of the target material.  I have a version of this work, however the maximum event rate is ~ 16/second. I have the Setup 9215 for finite samples / 10 samples per channel which is ~ 400uSec of conversion time and I realize he is above in the appeal of vi, but ~ 50mSeconds worth?

The target detector can put out up to 1 k / event triggers / seconds.  Only, I received a rate of 8 per second and I added the NOR-DAQmx control vi driver and chose "commit" this did double the rate.

My question is what is the maximum rate of loop for these devices (trigger/conversion/reading device / reset) and start over? I noticed that just let free the 9215, carried out using the 'Acq & chart internal strain Clk' raised only the rate of events up to 20 Hz.

    Thank you

    normbo663

    Hi normbo663,

You can get this works far better assuming you have an available counter (there are 4 on the backplane of the 9174).

DAQ Compact supports the tasks of meter output "redeclenchables" that can be used to generate a finite pulse train.  You can set a task of finished meter redeclenchables output to be used as sample for your task of analog clock.  The task of the meter output will be re-Army (less than 12, 5-25 ns) as soon as it's finished out the last pulse.  The task of analog input would be configured to run continuously, but it would only sample based on the output of the meter triggered.  For an example, see here.

You can reference the internal counters on the cDAQ without signals through a routing module using: cDAQ1/_ctr0 (right click on the chain counter control, then select i/o name of filtering and check channels internal to add these options to the drop down).

Thus, with the tips above, you should be able to immediately re - arming your analog acquisition on the 9215 using one background basket counters.  It seems that the second half of the application is to use a second channel on the 9402 to reset the trigger of your DUT.  You can deterministically generate this signal so by configuring a 2nd redeclenchables meter out task (single pulse, but this time).  All you need to do is the initial delay on the appropriate value for your analog acquisition.  Trigger this counter on the same PFI line that trigger you your analog task from.

Using counters to generate the signals you need in a deterministic way, the loop becomes is no longer a problem (as long as your input buffer does not overflow).  You may need to re-read several triggers at the same time for the loop to keep (for example to read 1000 samples each, which would correspond to 100 triggers 10 samples).

  • Create a table of values for which a condition is met

I have exactly this problem, however connected solution is no longer valid: Re: table to automatically generate values if the condition is met,

Basically I have a table (named 'Master Sheet') that has two columns, one with project names with a status ('Active' or 'pending'). I want a separate table that automatically fills the project names of the leaf of the master for which the status is 'Active '.

    For example, from this table:

    Project

    Status

    Red

    PENDING

    Orange

    ASSETS

    Yellow

    ASSETS

    Green

    ASSETS

    Blue

    PENDING

I want to automatically generate this table, which contains only values whose status is 'Active' (not 'pending' and without values null):

    Project

    Status

    Orange

    ASSETS

    Yellow

    ASSETS

    Green

    ASSETS

Please note that using the filter function does not work in this case, as I need to be able to freely add new lines to the two tables.

    Hi Kath,

Here is a pair of similar solutions.

That on background uses a writing ('ACTIVE') of the value in the formula in the master-1 table to create the index in column C.

Above who gets the value of the cell in row 1 (A1) of the table of the single column and lists him only the names of any State were brought to the project.

    Index columns can be hidden.

    Formulas:

    Master: C2 IF (B = C$ 1, ROW (), 999)

    Table 1::A3: IF (SMALL (Master: $C, LINE () −2) = MAX (Master: $C),"", INDEX (Master: $A:$ B, SMALL (Maste r: $C, ROW (−2)), COLUMN ()))

    Master - 1:C2: IF (B = "ACTIVE", ROW (), 999)

    Table 1 - 1:A2: IF (SMALL ("Master-1': C, LINE (−1) ') = MAX ('Master-1': C),' ', index (" Master-1': b, SMA LL('Master-1'::C,ROW()−1),COLUMN()))) ")")

All forms filled up to the last line of their respective columns.

Filled with formulas in column A of the table of two columns to right of column B.

Single column table must be no more than a longer column of its master table.

Double table column must be as long as his master table or less.

    Kind regards

  • Battery meter

My iPhone 6 is running iOS 9.3.1 just today started having a problem with the battery meter records does not correctly. After several hours of using my phone this morning, I noticed that he was always at 100% and he died soon after. It wasn't a problem last night, because I remember watching down to 4% and die last night. I had my time manually rather than what allows it to configure automatically. This http://fortune.com/2016/01/19/battery-issues-iphone-6s-and-6s-plus/ of fortune dot com suggested to do a hard reboot and automatic time setting enable. I restarted, and then activated, then restarted again, but nothing.

I got the iOS version that I am running for awhile, so I don't think that it has nothing to do with the update because I only started to have a problem with it this morning

First, download the autonomy since the app store app. It will tell you the status of the battery. Then try the battery meter calibration if the problem is not the battery.

    Recalibrate your battery meter:

    • Charges to 100%
    • Run the battery until the phone turns off
    • If it stops above 1% charge for only one minute, and then continue running the battery down. Repeat until it makes 1% before shutting
    • Load it back to 100%

If the battery is defective, this should fix it.

  • Why does not the meter of the quality of one of my choices of master password, regardless how I mix letters, numbers and non-alphanumeriques characters?

I tried to create a master password, but it couldn't be done because the quality meter never accepted none of my passwords, even if I used a mixture of very complicated letters, numbers and special characters as well.

There is no requirement when setting master password in Firefox. The password quality indicator is purely informative.

If you try to fill the bar all the way, that's unlikely, unless you create a long password, or a mixture very complex of special characters, upper and lower case letters and numbers. Don't forget the password should be easy to remember and typed in, time after time. A highly secure password that is easily misspelled or forgotten is of no use.

  • The CPU meter on the dysfunctions of transport bar

At the far right of the Transport bar is a CPU meter. When a project is first opened on LPX, this gauge is the most crazy. It takes about 30 to 60 seconds and sometimes more. During this time, I am unable to play any project - the sound stutters. There is nothing I've been able to do to eliminate (or same gear up) this anomaly.

    (a) what could be the cause?

    (b) how could this problem be solved?

    Thank you

It's perfectly normal: your content (sampled instruments, inflected tracks, audio files) is loaded into the RAM disk, using all available CPU power. The only thing that you can "do" is less sample content or less flexed titles. Or simply wait 30 to 60 seconds.

I sometimes play a project that takes over again, but that's useless, the project will stutter and he will miss notes instrumentsa who are not entirely responsible.

It may also take longer if you have other applications open (webbrowsers) because the contents of the RAM may need to be swapped to and from the disk.

Opening & downloading a project of average size (with an already high logic) just took me 1'25 "."

Two more $ to speed up: increase the RAM or use SSD (s) to store your recording and storage of the content of the sample.
