9850 blackBerry Smartphones upgrade failure

I may have unwisely attempted to run a suggested OS updated earlier, OTA. But apparently the phone was not connected to a power supply (long story), I assumed it was. Discovering this - and I have no idea what happened in the hours of the intervention I plugged it properly and he was showing signs of life. But now it does this:

It will start to boot, apparently normally, but then it will start a strange "countdown" instead of start. Then I get an unusual hourglass and empty a screen for a few minutes, followed by:

App error 602
Reset

So I'm pretty much at a loss. I can't connect to the office, read or interact with the phone somehow. I don't have a backup file, and I would not particularly devastated if I lost some files and documents on the device, but I really want to avoid any nuclear option. Someone at - it ideas?

Hi, thanks much for your diligence, but I think I'm OK now. In fact, I came across some of these same items on my quest!

On the assumption that the operating system could not install correctly and could not be repaired, I ended up downloading the OS I tried Verizon and then a tip to get the apploader to work and manually installed this way.  I lost my contacts, I had saved also already and my messages, which I admit is annoying, but otherwise all right. My brackets are still intact, and it took me about ten minutes to find and replace all the applications I use.

  • E-mail blackBerry Smartphones upgrade error

I have a torch 9800 and already two emails were put in place. Download phone messed up email and I am not able to access the e-mail box to manage my accounts or create new accounts.

I could get the phone reset somehow, but this area of e-mail management now wants to upgrade to version 6.11.0419.0755. When I click NO, I still can't screen for managing my existing eemail. Thus, it seems that it is a Catch 22 and a bad. I should be able to reject any upgrade and continue to use the software.

I made the suggested what I have read in this forum by going to att.blackberry.com and the other site but get an error when you use the launch button. 500 error page.

I don't want to upgrade again because my phone is not working properly - this upgrade seems to affect the phone on all and not only electronic mail.

News about the upgrade that will work properly or alternatives and why they don't work?

    Thank you

    Hi David,

About 500 error Page... I've seen where this happens when you try to access this site using a WiFi connection.  Disconnection from the WiFi and try to load the site via your 3G connection.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, upgrade one 8700 4.1... a problem with the Desktop Manager?

I bought this phone as a gift (it has been used only for 3 days so it shouldn't me hardware failures) and am always adapt to it.

The OS is v4.1.0.351, and I expect to give it a bit more use by updating the operating system. Unfortunately, whenever I try to update using a downloaded package and the Desktop Manager (or the line "update" that crosses the D.M., he tells me that my OS is most recent possible. I tried to update a number of times but without success. D.M. is not necessary for updates and does not give me an opportunity to use a downloaded package.

My carrier is T-Mobile, but I am paid in advance (with a BlackBerry, I'm the 8th grader more cool on the block... too bad I'm 22) and the phone is unlocked to all carriers.

    Thank you very much!

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

You use this page to get the updated package?

And also according to their complete instructions? If the lot you DL/install on your PC is identical to what is already installed on the BB, which would explain the results you get.

I suspect that you do not use the package totally correctly is enhanced by the present:

DTM does not such an offer... what you do is to install the package on your PC at the top of the DTM. Then, when you launch DTM, he will offer the update for your OS, but it does not technically she receives DL packaging or not I think. Can be semantic... but just to be clear.

    Finally:

Your specific model of BB is still supported by TM? If not, then they won't be offers a package to update (and all you DL would be on their part is not valid in any case - the package must match exactly to your BB model number... no deviation at all). What you have to do is to pick up the package you want from another carrier and then use these instructions to install:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Upgrade causes the connection Bluetooth to the desktop software does not work

I'm a business traveler road warrior who lives and dies by my BlackBerry synced with my laptop.  I just spent most of November on the road and worked hard the BB and laptop.  The two worked perfectly.  I was able to sync the BB to the laptop with Bluetooth or USB cable and not problems.  Since I was AT & T, I could use the BB as a modem for laptop and get 3G service everywhere wherever I was going.  Life was good back in the day... November 2010.

Then... I get some downtime and decide to meet the guests of the BlackBerry software desktop that there are updates available for the desktop software and software of the device of 9000 "BOLD".  I decided that since I have no immediate need and criticism so I can update.  So I update.

I updated the software to version 5. something to 6.0.0.43 version.  Once the software has been updated, I get a prompt to upgrade the 9000 to a new version of software for device.  So I move from 4.6.something to 5.0.0.82 2.

I do a couple of synchronization with the USB cable and I feel good.  Then I try to sync using bluetooth.  No joy.  Unable to get the desktop software to see the Blackberry.  The 9000 "BOLD" connects to Windows 7 OK and I can even use the laptop as a speaker.

So I go through the "Add bluetooth device" menu and office procedures.  During the search of a device discoverable bluetooth, the 9000 "BOLD" is so I clicked and respond OK.  Then I went back to the Bluetooth Configuration screen where nothing appears.  I can't add the 9000 "BOLD" for Desktop software.  Something is not.

Nothing is more exasperating to have everything to work perfectly, apply the updates recommended by the provider of the software, and then have things get broken and stop working.  Before after the Desktop software prompts to upgrade, I worked flawlessly.  After you apply the upgrade of Desktop software and device software upgrade, I can not connect with Bluetooth.

I searched on the Internet until I no longer have to read in order to find a solution but can't seem to find a solution.  Maybe I'm just angry with RIM and these horrible upgrades that utility that I really liked.

Let me answer a few questions before someone decides to help him.

Is your BlackBerry detectable, so she can be found and associated with?  Yes, I updated the device discoverable.

You can pair your BlackBerry with Windows 7 64 bit?  Yes.  No problem.  I can use the laptop running Windows 7 64 bit as a speaker with the BB.

Could you have made other changes that may have caused the problem?  Nope.  I did not follow the guidelines of RIM in updgrading Desktop software and device software.  I suppose that, in this case, I followed the destruction of the RIM.

You do backup your BlackBerry 9000 "BOLD" before upgrading the device software?  Yes.  I'm not stupid and don't trust any upgrade for the exact reasons, I'm writing on this forum.

You have a Windows 7 restore set where you can go back to a point in time before you upgraded the Software Desktop 5 point. something to 6.0.0.43?  Yes.  I have a restore point.

Do you have confidence that you can do both a restore of Windows 7 to get something back to 5. AND then to restore the device to 4.6.something?  Man, that thought makes me sick at heart.  I trust both RIM and MSFT to do their work and we know that RIM was screwed up, or I wouldn't be here today.

Can anyone help with obtaining of BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.0.0.43 (updated 5.something) version to see and the pair with a BlackBerry 9000 "BOLD" which had 6.0.0.43 improve software 4.6.something to 5.0.0.82 device 2?

It is confirmed.  5.0.0.82 2 is total c * p.  Who knows what complete insanity due to RIM out a such terrible and wounded many customers update.

I was able to downgrade from 5.0.0.82 2 to 4.6.0.304.  Compatible bluetooth and connected seemlesly, even if the connection has been very sloew the order of minutes of time to the Desktop Manager.

Here are the instructions to downgrade.

1 remove the newer operating system of your PC by going to control panel > Add/Remove programs.

    2. next, download and install the earlier version of the operating system. BlackBerry operating system downloads

    Find here the operating systems:

    http://BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads

    3. install the older operating system to the computer by running (double click) the downloaded file.

    4. go into c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."

(I had to look for vendor.xml as I have Windows 7, but when I found and deleted things work as described).

    5. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

These instructions worked like a charm.  Connected to Desktop Manager and did a sync as soon as the 9000 "BOLD" restarted.  Apparently, the problem was my stupidly following the recommendation to upgrade the operating system to 5.0.0.82 2.

Just another thing about the 5.0.0.82 2 upgrade... IT SUCKS DO NOT! Until the Bugs are worked out stay away 5.0 versions (anything ending in par.822 and earlier) just my 2 cents worth

  • BlackBerry Smartphones upgraded to OS 6 - ringtones now missing - how to get back?

    Hello

As a user of the BB basis, when my office asked me if I wanted to move to OS 6.0.0.448, I said OK.

I'm slowly maneuver my way around the changes (a warning would be nice).  The only thing that I miss is that my old ringtones disappeared.

How can I get back them?  I read a post that said to download BBSAK, I did, and a .cob file, as I did, then he said go to the tab 'modify s/n' and choose 'Install s/n', but for me these buttons do not come up as a choice.  No idea what I did wrong or what I need to do?

    Thank you!

You can get all the ringtones OS5 back by going to the following link on your phone: mobile.blackberry.com

Scroll down the page until you get to the section "What's new", click on ringtones OS5 OS6 for download all previous ringtones.

  • Problems of blackBerry Smartphones upgrade my Curve 8520 to the new version of the 5.0 software

    Hello

I tried to update my BB Curve with the new software last night... I supported everything first... he crossed the 4 step process of update, but blocked on "restart" & just stood there.

I know he said do not interrupt or disconnect during the update, so I went to bed & leaves to do it's thing... after 6 hours, he had not moved, I had to kill it.

Now I've lost my contacts, history, files etc... purpose that I know they are on my PC somewhere because the update system has done its own backup, so I have to be able to 'restore' myself...

    Please can you help me?

    Thanks in advance, Simon

Hi & Welcome to the community... !!

First of all, please let us know, reloading the OS on blackberry is successful or not, so successuful then gr8.

Secondly, as you said, you supported your device first of all, if you can restore the data from there, other wise, you can recover from the default backup location, where DM is saved automatically.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones upgraded iTunes to 10.5.1 now can't Sync music

Recently, I upgraded my iTunes to 10.5.1 now Bishop Bureau told me that iTunes is not installed and will not sync my music. He tells me to install iTunes or sync using Windows Media Player (which I don't use). I even tried restalling Desktop Mgr even error message. Not only it is installed, but it is running. Ugh, someone knows a solution or at least have similar problem?

I swapped this thread to another forum of BB and got the answer. It works like a charrm.

    Overview
In some rare cases, it may be necessary remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime and software components on your computer before you reinstall iTunes. For more technical questions, however, reinstall iTunes is a useless and overused troubleshooting step. If you're headed to reinstall iTunes by AppleCare, a Knowledge Base article or an alert dialog box, you can do so by following the steps described in this article.

    Notes:
iTunes Store purchases or songs imported from CDs are saved in your my default music folder and are not deleted by removing iTunes. Although it is highly likely that you will lose everything in your iTunes library by following these steps, it is always a good idea to make sure your iTunes library is saved. If you don't know how to back up, see iTunes: back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive.
These steps can take a long time to complete, depending on your system.

    Measures
1 remove iTunes and related components from the control panel
Use the control panel to uninstall iTunes and software components related in [b]the following order. Then, restart your computer.
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Hello
Application of Apple Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these items in a different order, or uninstallation of only some of these components may have unintended effects.
If you need more detailed on the withdrawal and these components, refer to the following steps:

    2. check that iTunes and related components are completely uninstalled
In most cases, remove the iTunes Control Panel and its associated components will delete all the files from these programs support. In some rare cases, these files may be left. After you follow the previous steps, you must confirm that the files and folders have been deleted and if everything is left behind, remove them now:
    Hello C:\Program
    C:\Program Files\Fichiers Files\Apple\
    C:\Program Files\iTunes\
C:\Program Files\iPod\ Note: Follow the steps later in this article if you receive the alert "cannot delete iPodService.exe: it is used by another person or program" when you try to delete this folder.
    C:\Program Files\QuickTime\
    C:\Windows\System32\QuickTime
    C:\Windows\System32\QuickTimeVR
If you don't know how to remove these files, you can follow these steps:

3 reinstalling iTunes and related components
After you verify that iTunes is completely uninstalled, restart your computer, and then install the latest version of iTunes.

If the issue that you are troubleshooting is not resolved after you follow these steps, it is not necessary to remove and reinstall iTunes several times. Instead, you can find useful information to the Support page of iTunes, such as troubleshooting related to specific alert messages.
