DataGuard missed some archivelog files and but the last log files apply. database pending is not in sync with the primary.

Oracle concepts: Clarity needed on the recovery Instance
One of my colleague was discussing the recovery instance with me.
We've discussed on the position of the control point, the phases of recovery of body (front bearing rear bearing), and then he asked me what is the point of rolling toward the before (application of redo logs) and then roll back (undo blocks application), why not apply only committed transactions?

I told him that this happens because:
(1) roll forward to recreate the scenario just before what Instance has crashed
(2) roll front/roll back is the fastest way to recover

I don't know where I got this learning, maybe some blog or article (probably not), but is it correct?

Question about joining and separating some simple traces

Hello, I have a vector image of a logo and here to recreate the 'e' appearing in the image here without the missing gap, where a picture point used to be. I'm fairly inexperienced in Illustrator and seeks advice on the best way to associate this zone in the most simple way and smoother appearance possible.
Further, since I will use this to get an effect of masking in Flash, I would like to know how I can separate the areas of intersection on the left side of the "e", so it appears as a worm - like single line/swoosh.

Assuming that there is no question pending of the copyright, you can:

(1) cut each of the anchors away with the scissors tool.

(2) join each part of the path by dragging on the Anchor Points to attach with the direct Selection tool and CTRL / Cmd + J, now you straght join parts with corner at both ends Points;

(3) ClickDrag every Coner Point with the tool convert point of anchor (the pen tool launcher) to get the right curves, it may take a few tries until you get them right.

You can cut the tail where it joins the back of the e with the scissors tool. (you can repeat 2) and 3) If you want to join the pieces with curves.

Always work on a copy when you destroy work.

Find missing Date Gap

I can't figure out how to solve this, any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have a table with two columns, the name of the employee and the work Date.
I need to search for records that have gaps in the dates by using an SQL statement.
For example, someone who has an entry for the 2010-03-25 and the next date 27/03/2010 (03/26/2010 is missing).

How to fix the GAP DATAGUARD

We have DG (physical standby, size 1.5 TB and NON-RAC) with 11.2.0.2 and in HP - UX environment. Yesterday, I noticed that a few logs archiving failed and due to this redo apply is pending. I tried to check the archives to connect to the PRIMARY DATABASE and I could not found the same even in the backup location also archive these logs is not available. Now, what are the best options I can use to solve this problem, I can think of re-creating standby but I think that this is NOT the best option. I heard something about restore etc. RMAN backup... anyone can shed some light on this? Thank you in advance.

DataGuard: MRP still in WAIT_FOR_GAP after incremental backup recover

I'm new to the dataguard configuration, and recently, I connected on a dataguard configuration to test the object.
I have deleted stupidely some archive my primary database logs, thereby breaking the standby update (due to the fact that the database has not been started for a long time, the gap is now about 130 days ).
I have to try to recover the situation re-synchronized the RCS of the day before using an incremental backup (and create eve of primary control files).
After restoration, the SNA were the same, but restarting the recovery service (MRP), it is still indicating WAIT_FOR_GAP and still waiting for my missing archive logs.
New archive logs is well shipped to the waiting however.
No idea what I missed or what should I do?
The database version is a 12.1.0.1.

Problem solved.

In Oracle 12 c, roll forward is more to do "by hand".

There are a few commands to RMAN done automatically, by using the primary database service (G12DGGOP_DG for me).

So back up mode:

RESTORE DATABASE SERVICE G12DGGOP_DG WITH THE HELP OF NOREDO COMPRESSED BACKUPSET SECTION SIZE 100M;

Then after restore controlfile in nomount (stop):

RESTORE CONTROLFILE EVE OF SERVICE G12DGGOP_DG;

Yes after you apply the missing logs (resolve gaps) then you can run this command again.

Mail disappeared for a month in 2015. I tried the repair and reconstruction of the index file. Still missing but now emails have sporadic several copies.

The Inbox file is currently 1.9 G, upward of about 0.85 G in September of this year. Probably due to a large number of parts attached. I have noticed that emails for 3/2015 for most missing although I find answers, etc., in the folder "sent" for the same period. The gap may occur after the last operation of compaction.
I tried both the 'fix' and deletion of the msf index option and rebuild. These emails are still missing, but now I have sporadic cases of multiple copies of an e-mail, 8.

Inbox included 2013 as part of the day and I just moved the files from 2013 to a folder to archive but have not yet run the compaction on the Inbox to eliminate those emails that I fear that I could also inadvertently delete emails 3/2015.

Cannot open the raw file from Inbox in Notepad... get a too large file error, but it opens in wordpad even if research is extremely slow and basically unusable. Any thoughts?

More information on the compaction. It is recommended to leave Thunderbird cela automatically by setting a threshold (e.g. 1 MB). See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Compacting_folders

Help! My files sent for two whole months are missing! I have looked everywhere and looked through the forum topics, without success.

At the beginning of a new month, Thunderbird normally creates a sent folder for the previous month, as in "Feel-Apr-2014." All my emails in the last two months are - missing files for March and April 2014. I looked through all my records, to see if they went to the wrong place. I also tried searching for individual emails by name, to see if they are elsewhere, but there is a gap of two months with no emails showing up during this time. I checked my master settings, to make sure that nothing is set to automatically delete. This is very serious. I'll have to stop using Thunderbird, I used for four years, if I can't solve this problem, because I can not afford to continue to lose huge chunks of important emails.

Your profile folder opens in Windows Explorer. Under ImapMail, look for a folder with your domain name in the name of the folder, i.e. something like mail. [sitename] .com. What are records under?

Point cloud with missing data and 3 sets of data

I'm doing a scatter diagram that has 3 sets of data in it (i.e. 3 plots on the same graph), except that 2 of my sets of data have a missing value while my third set has all the values. I end up getting 2 lines that are disconnected. I can't just remove the line containing the missing data for the 2 sets of data because since my category axis is time, my data points get shifted and no longer appear at the right time. This is the chart that I have.

If there is a diagram of dispersion, the x axis is a value axis. If you have auto selected for the min and max values on this axis, the scale may change when you remove the data point, 15, 85, but the rest remains in the same position relative to the values on each axis of ordinates. What change will be , however, is the curve on which 15 85 approached a local y maximum.

Scatterplots will always leave a gap in the line/curve of connection where there are a pair of missing data. There are two ways to close the gap.

If the chart is an essentially linear relationship, you can use a calculated value is pair up with the lack of value x. The downside of this is that the representation of this point will be indistinguishable on the map of the other data points, measured.

A better way would be to make two tables, one with the full data set, the other with the partial sets, but with the pair missing completely removed.

Adjust the cards the same size and have the same scales on each axis, then just remove one of the cards except the data points, the curves connecting the data points, the x axis of ordinates and the legend showing the color and the forms used to plot each series.

Give a graphic a transparent filling and place it in front of the other.

Why is there a gap with disk space?

I have an old hard drive of an older XP machine. I connected it outside to take a glance of data for backup purposes. The hard drive is 80 GB, and Windows reports that there are 21GB free (or 69GB used). If I take the properties of all the files (including hidden and system files), it showed a value of 60 GB of data. I made a clone of the disc and that the container was also 60 GB. Why "Camembert" said 69GB? Where the 9FR? I also run Chkdsk as well.

I'm nervous that I'm missing some data...

You have at least three different things that may be confusing you.

The reason most likely for a "gap" as big as 9 GB is the System Volume Information folder. This 'super' hidden folder is mainly used for system restore points, but also may include databases indexing (when you allow the default behavior of "Allow the Indexing Service to index this disk for fast searching of files"). Even if you can see the folder System Volume Information in Windows Explorer when you uncheck the "Hide protected operating system files" option, it reports a size of 0 bytes - regardless of what is actually in the file.

Although there is a way to access the IVR - which is strongly discouraged - folder start by opening the system restore and see how much you have restore points. By default, Windows XP allocates 12% of the size of the partition to restore the system, so if you have a nominal 80 GB partition, you 9.6 GB allocated for SR. Assuming you did spin for a while, this allocation is probably filled (restoration of old points are deleted on a FIFO basis as new are created).

If you are reasonably confident in the stability of your system, run Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr.exe > OK) and select the tab 'other options '. Then click on the "Clean up" button in the "System Restore" section to remove all but the last restore point. If you do this, my guess is that your 9 GB gap will disappear.

In addition to the SVI folder, there are a couple of relatively minor points:

Not all 'gigabytes' are the same. When a drive manufacturer says you have a 80 GB drive, it means that your player has about 80,000,000,000 bytes. Windows reports a drive of this size as having 80,000,000,000 / 1.073.741.824 = 74.51 GB (where 1.073.741.824 is 1024 * 1024 * 1024).

In addition, there is a difference between the number of bytes in a file (the ' size' reported by Windows when you examine the properties of a file) and the space occupied by the file on the hard drive. Windows is reported as the size of the file 'on the disk."

More recent operating systems Windows, including XP, the default size 'cluster' for readers to the NTFS format is 4 KB. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/140365. When a file is recorded on the hard disk, it occupies a whole number of clusters. On average, half the size of cluster is "lost" for each file stored. For a player with a normal mixture of sizes of files and about 150 000 files, only about 300 MB of space will be wasted.

Why can't I remove gaps between tracks when burning a disc with Media player?

I have media player 11 but like all versions, he plays the album without gaps but when burn you it to a disc for the car he puts 3 second gaps between tracks, which ruins a live album! Am I missing something?
