  Try to download the relevant driver for this unit from its http://www.prolific.com.tw/eng/downloads.asp?id=31 Web site, and then install this driver in your client operating system to Windows XP.

  When VMware Fusion then redirects the USB device to your guest operating system, you should be able to see the device.

  Remove and reinstall all USB controllers

  To remove and reinstall all USB controllers, follow these steps:

  (a) click Start, click run, type sysdm.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK.

  (b) click on the hardware tab.

  (c) click the Device Manager button.

  (d) expand Bus USB controllers.

  (e) right click on each device under the Bus USB controllers node and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.

  (f) restart the computer to reinstall the USB controllers.

  (g) connect the removable USB device and perform a test to ensure that the problem is solved.

  Let us know the status.

  I'm trying to connect a UPS to PowerPanel to my new ACER computer with 64-bit Windows 7 via a prolific USB-serial connector software. The convenience store says he has a driver problem the convenience store is unable to correct. However, messages also said that my driver is up to date and the device working properly.   ·        What is the exact error message that you receive when you connect theprolific USB-serial connector to your computer?

  ·         Could you plug the connector on the computer as soon as possible without any problem?

  ·         What is the model number of the connector?

  ·         The ups and the computer manufacturer and what is the model number?

  ·         Who is the stand-alone Windows Installer you tried to install?

  Understand when the manufacturer of the hardware device will provide you with the drivers for the hardware you want to use on the operating system you want to use.  If they aren't - so there you go.

  Hi, my laptop is not a serial port.

  If I want to connect to some hardware using RS-232, RS-485, CANBUS etc, will I have problems using a serial USB adapter?

  When I was programming PIC microcontrollers, we were told not to use adapters to program the PIC. I found this a little confusing because the signal from the adapter must be identical to what would come of a serial port. I don't know what is the reason.

  I have a box of NI USB - 232 which will stop working.  Not sure if it's a loop of mass or something with signals through it, but... Yes, they didn't last real long in my experience.  (It was years ago, I sent a bunch of back, don't know if improvements have been made since that time.)

  IOGear GUC-232 has and from SILabs CP2102/MAX3232 work well for me. never had a problem with those.  Anything FTDI is solid, beware fake chips with this manufacturer.

  If your try Windows 7 or Vista 64-bit, you will find Belkin isn't 64-bit drivers. However, Belkin do not have drivers anyway.   To be honest I had never heard about USB-Serial Controller C.

  The windows operating system contains drivers own controllers USB (USB port).
  This means that you will not find any special drivers for USB controller.

  If you have some connection with the cellphone problems then I recommend to install the software that was supplied with the mobile phone. There is always a CD with the software.
  Before installing this software, you must uninstall the previous software.

  By the way; You can delete the C USB-serial controller in Device Manager and reboot the laptop. Then check if the windows will recognize this controller again.

  Check the BIOS for hard drive setting.

  Make sure that you do not connect the drive to a SATA/RAID port.

  Old IDE drives - check the jumper on the drive (use "Cable Select" as a starting point), the BIOS must also be set in legacy/compatibility/IDE mode. Note: If you currently use the AHCI mode, then switch to IDE mode may cause Windows to boot.
