while I was writing a rewritable cd, nero burning rom, resulted in error and I ejected the cd. After the flag of the light writer is always now and it can not read any cd or dvd. In the Device Manager menu it says also that it works correctly. What should I do?

After a boot failure sunk with Windows XP Home Edition on my Equium A60-181, I had no choice but to use the product recovery DVD. I noticed there is something called expert mode, I suppose that allows you to create a custom default value of the factory Setup. So I was wondering, is it possible to format the hard drive in FAT32 instead of NTFS, create a partition for Linux and continue to use the product recovery DVD? In case you are wondering I want FAT32, so I can safely read and write my XP with Linux partition as NTFS writing is still experimental at the moment.

It's a question purely and simply, and I hope that someone will be able to answer for me. I have a portable Satellite P10 Pro, which comes with a burner CDR/DVD combo a plug of burning of CD I bought a few new DVD discs today and even they will not read it puts a blank diskette in the drive. Can someone tell me what is the speed of this CDR/DVD... For example, I have a DVD disc - RW Packard Bell DVD with 1 x speed which takes place but will not be written to disk...?

I bought a new set of DVD disc that are 4 X speed and DVD writer will not acknowledge that there is a CD in the drive. It keeps ticking over and over again. As far as I know Satellite P10 is one of the first models of laptops with DVD writer. The burning rate is not high. If I remember correctly the maximum speed for the DVD-R is 2 x and for only 1 X DVD - RW.

Read speed is Max 4 x DVD-ROM, DVD - R and DVD - RW 4xmax.

The driver for any optical drive is provided by Windows, then you should just connect the new device, but it can sometimes avoid problems by doing this as follows.

Hold down the Windows key and press R. In the run box, type devmgmt.msc and press ENTER. Expand the DVD/CD = ROM readers, made existing right click the device and choose uninstall.

Once completed, stop the laptop and made the new optical drive.

When you start Windows, then, give it a few minutes to load completely and you should find the new drive is running.

Is the creator of Dvd 32-bit even when it is installed on Windows 7 64-bit?

One last thing about my question on the manufacturers of DVD, my computer has been recently updated to a windows 7 64-bit to 32-bit program, Vista.

I went in my programs and noticed that the device is listed as c:/windows/system32/DRIVERS/cdrom.sys. This means that the program is a 32-bit is installed, which is not compatible with my 64 - bit windows update 7?

It seems that the reference is the same. As long as the part number is the same, it is essentially the same part and should work without any problems. From a little over a month (I think), Safari started freezing regularly whenever I want to open new tabs or switch between tabs. I found myself to leave the program several times per day / hour. I can't identify any specific common cause (other than my MacBook being old) or any new software or updates that might have initiated the question. At first I thought he might have many tabs, I tried to open, but recently it happens even with only a few tabs open.

I have an old laptop of my father (purchased in 2003). I clean the laptop to use it for surfing the Internet.
Unfortunately, I noticed that the CD DVD rom (with signature of driver of Aplix Corpation) doesnot read the Cd or DVd.

2 questions.

1 can someone help me with troubleshooting?
-J' already checked the Device Manager and the device SCSI DVD Rom SCSI Cd rom works / is enabled;
-Tried it lot the driver (version 5.1.2535.0 Microsoft), but it does not;
-He begins to read a Cd/Dvd (blinks) but I still don't see a drive mapping;
-In the management of the computer the CD-ROM (Dvd - rom) doesnot appear;

2. has tried to remove the DVD CD Rom of the computer laptop but cannot get 'live', who still holds the DVD CD rom on its place.

I assume that you have installed Win XP on this oldi.
Win XP and other systems such as Win Vista or Win 7 use the Microsoft CD/DVD driver and a STRANGE special drivers is therefore not necessary.
The ODD (optical disc) must be recognized by Win XP automatically without installation of any other drivers driver update is not necessary.

I recommend the removal of the CD/DVD drive in Device Manager, and then remove the upper and lower registry filters.

You can do this very easily. Branded WXP running the BIOS update first. After doing this use the Vista CD/DVD facilities and install Vista operating system. The last step is to install all the stuff from Toshiba (drivers, tools and utilities). All these things you can find on the download page of Toshiba.

The Qosmio G10 DVD burner replacement

My DVD burner was unable to get out and must be replaced. It is a UJ - 831S. I bought the same one, but I got an error of CD-ROM at the beginning upward. I tried this new CD-ROM on another laptop (Toshiba Satellite 2800-300) and it worked fine. I think I have a problem with the configuration of my DVD burner (c - select, master...). Do you know if can change the firmware of my DVD writer?

Yes, the problem here is the ID of engraver of DVD (CSEL) UJ - 831S. You must have the carpet * a DVD burner connected to the secondary IDE Atapi port as a master flash.
Probably your G10 is recognizing as an oucederomsurlesecondport IDE IDE slave secondary.
Unfortunately there is no firmware to change the internal Atapi drive ID.
You can ask Toshiba for the firmware, but I think that they will not give him to you.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A 100 - PSAANE with Vista Home Basic preinstalled in it.
Now, I have a few questions... I mention below: -.

(1) if I want to format my laptop, I need a CD to install for Vista Home basic... then I don't have this Toshiba CD when I bought the laptop. So how do? question: How can I format it?

(2) can I change my Vista Home Basic to windows XP? I think it's much faster than this one. is it advisable?

Another question. The value-added package that was installed on my laptop has got a call from the Toshiba Fash utility maps. When I upgraded to the latest version (previosly I had to uninstall it) this SW is not installed. How can I get it back?

Value added contains several applications:
-Toshiba components pilot common
-Toshiba Utilities
-Toshiba PC Diagnostic tool
-Toshiba Power Saver
-Toshiba Button support
-Toshiba zooming utility
-Toshiba Flash cards

So as you can see, the button support is included in this package. I don't know what the problem is on your laptop, but when the VAP is installed correctly the multimedia buttons and Flash cards should work correctly.

Try again please remove VAP system, restart the computer and install the latest version available. This latest version works well on the different laptop models (on my Satellite P200D too) and it should work on your too.

D/DVD-ROM drive cannot read the CD or DVD

I use Windows Vista on my laptop. Its quite some time that I did not use my DVD/CD drive. Today, I try to use but cannot read any CD or DVD. I was trying to solve the problem of updating the drive, but still cannot fix. Can I use Microsoft FIX IT microsoft support but the problem still there.

Something to say: windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration (in the registry) information is incomplete or damage (Code 19).

Click on 'Search the soluton' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.
I did it but the result is COULD NOT LOAD DRIVER SOFTWARE.

Please advise what should I do?

It is very rare for the methods in the 1st answer above does not fix a Code 19.

You might have a disk problem as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD and CD burn and)
DVD playback). Therefore, it is not unusual for 1 or 2 rooms with not so work that others do it properly.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are some registry entries
that the troubleshooter does not, and those who "could" be the cause.

Check with your system manufacturer Maker and device for possible firmware updates and the good
Your player registry entries.

Here are the keys in my opinion, are those in question - for the reader of CD/DVD subkeys of course that he will be
other subkeys in these keys. Be sure to ask specific keys involved as well as the parameters.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.
