  I have a Satellite L650D-178. And for a while some of my Fn - key functions do not work.
  As volume & brightness up & down still work, but I can not (of) active the wlan or go into hibernation. Also the overlay is not displayed (as in this picture :)

  

  I tried the good update but could not find anything that solved my problem.
  Does anyone knows how to fix this?

  Satellite L650D-178 was preinstalled with Windows 7 system.
  I guess that you are still using this operating system...

  In the case of Windows 7, you must install the Toshiba value added package
  If the VAP is already installed, uninstall the package, clean the registry with CCLeaner (freeware utility) and then install the driver Toshiba UE page VAP.

  I would first make sure that the Intel Grpahics driver is a version that is supported by HP.

  If the issue still percists then try to reinstall the driver HP wireless button because it helps control the function keys on the laptop.

  Your Thinkpad keyboard doesn't have access to the MS Wireless Comfort Keyboard 5000 drivers, firmware and add the functioon of Microsoft for the Thinkpad (and vice versa).

  Here is an article on how to remap the keys in Vista (with a link to a program that will help): http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/map-any-key-to-any-key-on-windows-xp-vista/. I don't know if this works with the function keys, but it's worth a try.

  The short answer is no.

  We cannot extend this functionality to the Fn keys.

  In order to get this kind of functionality, you would probably need to investigate the 3rd party software.

  My locking key function goes out several times per day.  I know that I'm not accidentally hit is one of the hardest to reach keys and I would hear a sound if I did.  Someone else this experience? Is there a solution?

  A web page can be defined a "accesskey" for an item. Unlike IE/Chrome/Safari, who use the Alt key only, Firefox requires pressing Alt and Shift to activate the element. In other words, try

  ALT + SHIFT + S

  and see if it works.

  I don't know of any way to change this so that the change is not necessary. There may be an add-on?

  Ive got a laptop Satellite Pro 6100. IM of problems using the secondary function keys (I'm not sure what they call them!). When I press the function (Fn) key, the light below the F10 button as it should, but when I press one of the brightness of i.e. F up/down buttons, nothing works!

  I had a quick glance at some of the tool and using keyboard in the Control Panel, which suggests that the driver may be incorrect, so I tried looking for an updated driver, but windows says: I have the latest version of the driver.

  Anyone else have this problem with the SP6100? Can it be fixed? If so, how?

  Even the windows said that you are using the latest drivers, you need to reinstall the drivers.
  First remove emulator utility Hotkey to display Add & Remove programs.
  Reinstall it modules common Hotkey Utility Emulator for display devices.

  I have the satellite p100-221 with pre-installed Win XP MCE. After a week of using my computer, a problem with the function keys blue appeared. FN - f1, fn - f2 and all the other fn keys combinations do not work properly. They seem to work, I can change the brightness, switch the touchpad on and out and so on, but no icon on the Info screen appears. While pressing the combination of function keys, the icons on the screen shows the time. How can I solve this problem? Is it software or hardware related?

  Your device is Satellite P100-221, then I guess the extra number must be PSPA6E.
  Do not forget that you are using the correct drivers for this device.

  But if you are using XP then I recommend reinstalling the common Modules.

• Lenovo Y560p Fn + right/left arrow keys (volume) is not showing do not normally on the screen

  Normally, it shows several vertical bars next to each other which fill or impoverish corresponds to the volume. The key function works fine for other things, such as Fn + up/down to adjust the brightness of the screen. If I click on the sound icon in the status bar in the lower right corner, then use the Fn + left/right he's going to raise/lower the sound, but very slowly (always without any indication of the screen).

  Solved my problem: "Lenovo Energy Management" was the issue. Supposed to uninstall it and reinstall, but not found to uninstall. I just reinstalled it and restarted my computer and it was fixed. My msconfig under Startup Programs file shows 2 entries of different energy management (with one checked). Kind of bothers me. Well, basically fixed.
