A vertical line on display on Qosmio G10

Hello world

Since yesterday I have a vertical line on my screen. He begins to show the start line and all the time. I already had the problem with the graphics card, so I had to replace the motherboard. Is this problem with the graphics card again?

Hmm, I guess that Yes.
You could try to connect the external display for the Qosmio, and check to see if the same on the second monitor.
If the thin line will be visible on the external monitor, then everything looks like the graphics card failure.

    Hello

I use a Qosmio G10 for 4 years now. I just got a new motherboard installed 2 months. This morning the display begins to act weird.
When starting the laptop, windows, start symbol appears almost normal colors, but when the windows desktop is running for 2-3 seconds, the picture becomes bright. The text of the desktop icons is not sharp, and half lower of the screen there is a fine glitter mesh. Although the colors are abnormal on the entire screen: (to be determined with paint)
-Black is black and white is always white
-light gray (hue 120, saturation 0, RGB brightness each 192 181) seems normal but dark gray (hue 120, saturation 0, 120, RGB brightness every 128) is represented white.
-brown (0, 240, 60 128 red brightness saturation hue) and the red light (0, 240, 120 red 255 brightness saturation hue) are represented as the same light red.
-too dark and clear (yellow, green, turquoise, blue and magenta) are represented as the same color on the screen.
I look at the picture you see immediately that the colors are not properly represented.
When the screen is off, and then it shows colors initially normal, but then (after 2-3 seconds) everything becomes brighter and the colors become indistinguishable as described.

If a 2nd screen is used each colors appear normal.
I tried the new display driver: no improvement.

Please give me a diagnosis which component is defect. Do I need a new display or is the new mainbord fault (guarantee).

    > If a 2nd screen is used each colors appear normal.
According to your description it takes the laptop display problem.
On the internet you can find many free tools for the control of the display. Try to test with these tools.

Sometimes half display work correctly with vertical lines on the screen half left. Someone if I play the video, then it is fixed in 20-30 min. There also get fixed when I display stand with a certain pressure (where screen and laptop are connected). If I leave the laptop on these lines, the screen comes on for 3-5 seconds and again the vertical lines are displayed. But the display work done after it is fixed. So, what's the problem?

  • Qosmio G10 has vertical lines on the screen

I have a G10 which I use for the last 15 months since I bought it.
However, there are now 4 vertical lines on the screen, 2 Purple (magenta?), 1 yellow and 1 cyan. Other than these lines there are no other problems, it never fell down or something like that.

The lines are still there, they do not change in any way and are always in the same place. They appear on the screen at first power up, before the Qosmio logo lights up.

They have not all appear at the same time, they all appeared individually in the past two months. I've seen the last of them disappear briefly, then stay on.

I guess that my screen is dying slowly, I guess to be an expensive item.

Any advice thrown my way would be greatly appreciated!

I took a picture of the screen you will find at:

    http://www.imagebucket.NET/images/lldata/displaylines.jpg

Note: the photo was taken with Media Player full screen on a black image, just to clearly show the lines)

    Hello

I suggest you connect an external display to check if it's a graphics card or a display problem. If cela pipes appears also on the external screen then it could also be a problem with the graphics card.
If these lines do not appear on the external display while the display of the laptop has a malfunction.
However, this does not change your situation. I recommend you contact the Toshiba ASP to solve this problem.

  • Qosmio G10 begins with vertical lines on the screen

    Hello, can anyone help?

When I try to start my sign qosmio G10 comes on with vertical lines on the screen. And the screen goes black and I can only hear the fan.
In VGA mode, it begins upward, but always with the lines on the screen.
Is there something wrong with the video card? In my view, that there are more people with this problem.
    Toshiba offered little help?

I'm 'out out of warranty '. I need to by a new complete motherboard or y at - it another option? Replace the video card?

    Hello

Its a shame about the warranty because you ask the service partner Toshiba for the verification of the laptop and this procedure would be free. You know, the warranty would cover the audit of the laptop.

But I would say the external display connection and then you can check if the same vertical lines appear on the external display.
If you see the lines on the second monitor, then I guess it could be something wrong with the graphics card or motherboard.

I think that this procedure is the best way to find out what could be the problem, but anyway, I think you should ask a technician for assistance if you want to solve this problem.

PS: Have you tried to reinstall or update the graphics driver? I think you should do it but I don't know if it will help you, but you know Mr. try is free ;)

One of my friends had a similar problem with the vertical lines on other mobile manufacturing, and it was a WLan cable which was responsible for the strange lines on the screen.

  • Qosmio G20 screen is comatible with display Qosmio G10?

    Hello

Dose anyone know if the screen Toshiba Qosmio G10 is compatible with the Toshiba Qosmio G20?

    Thank you guys

    Of
    Sweet

    Hello

I think display of the G20 should be compatible with the Qosmio G10 display.
I searched a bit and found that the Qosmio G10-100 PQG10E was fitted with the 17 "WIDE XGA LCD.
The Qosmio G20-101 PQG20E supports the same 17 "WIDE XGA display.

Therefore, it seems that both units use the same screen.

    Hello

have you tried to plug the external monitor? If it still shows blue vertical lines, the reason is a failure of the graphics card. (You can also reinstall Windows to check the related issue of f it's Os). Otherwise, contact the after-sales service.

  • Green vertical lines then white screen on Qosmio F10

My Toshiba Qosmio F10 primer is more. When it is on, the windows logo appears and the screen green vertical lines before going completely blank. The screen remains blank for about 5 minutes, then the laptop starts to restart. It justs goes on and so forth.
No one knows what the problem is and now the laptop is out of warranty, cost for repair, or it is not profitable and it would be cheaper to buy a new laptop?
    Thank you
    Mike.

    Hey Buddy,

Unfortunately ' unfortunately it seems that this defect is caused by component defective equipment.ยป It could be that the motherboard together that cost to a service center about 400 European must be replaced. (New card mother and Exchange)
You can also try to clean your cooling system with a can of compressed air to remove dust which could probably cause the error, also.

If you really want to give your machine for repair, then follow this link and find nearest ASP in your country:

    Hello, Fabian

I'm very sorry to hear that you have a problem with your Qosmio. I have too many Qosmio G20 and I really like this camera. I know it is expensive (I bought an opportunity), but it's really a very powerful and noble device.

Right now my works well but when I read something like your ad that I'm a little worried mine too. I have gift? t know how long warranty period is in your country, but especially about 2 years ago. Try to contact the Service partner in your country and speak with them. Maybe is it possible to fix it.

    Good luck!

  • Vertical lines on screen - Qosmio F10

I need assistance with vertical lines on my screen.
It began before the period of one month, and I don't know what to do.
Now, I work in SafeMode because Windows XP used to operate normally.

The service where I bought it, they say I have to buy the new motherboard because the graphics card is integrated on the motherboard and graphics card loses contact with the motherboard.

Now I should spend about 900 to buy the new card mother and graphics card, but it is stupid because I bought new Toshiba before 2 years for 2,000 and now does not work normally.
Does anyone has a good idea how to fix it or some pages where I can find parts for my Qosmio? It is easier to say that someone to spend 900 to fix.
Where are now best Toshiba notebook that everyone talks about.

    Help, please.

    Kind regards
    Mirko

    Hello

I can really understand you and of course it s very stupid situation, but I guess that the guys of ASP are right and this problem really looks like a graphics card problem.
The vertical lines on the screen are very typical for a malfunction of the graphics card.

So I see really no other possibility as to replace the motherboard.
Maybe you can buy one second hand and it could be a little cheaper.

PS: I bought an extended warranty with my new laptop and I recommend to all this extension because a hardware malfunction can always happen.

  • Qosmio F10: vertical lines on the screen

I use a Qosmio F10 with a nVIDIA 128 MB graphics card. Recently while I was running a graphics-based application on, my screen started showing me wire colors on the screen. I was able to start the game once more, but found the same problem exist.

On reboot, the system showed the vertical white lines on the screen to start qosmio, ' *' on the lines of the bios password screen and green on the Windows XP loading screen. I was not able to start Windows. Thinking it would be a problem of S/W, I formatted.

The problem persists and I can not load Windows XP.
Can someone tell me what the problem with my laptop?

    Hello

This sound like a hardware malfunction and I guess it could be something wrong with the graphics card or motherboard :(

But the vertical lines appear on the external screen? If so, then it must be a matter of Council.
In this case, you have a lot of possibilities. In my opinion, ask the guy to service for the control of the laptop. The technicians of the service in your country partner could run diagnostics tests and will give you more details about the failure.

    Good luck
