ABOUT CONNECTION LINKSYS

Hello. I have a question about the security of the connection to a router unsecured with an Ethernet cable.

Here is my set up... I have my Comcast internet cable, connected to a Motorola modem/router. (IT'S PASSWORD PROTECTED) I need an additional Ethernet connection to my Magic Jack. So I connected an Ethernet of the combo from Motorola to a Linksys router. I then my Ethernet computer connected to the router linksys (WIRELESS IS a SECURE) but... I am connected to the internet. (Ethernet cable)

My question is... My Ethernet connection is safe from this way? I do not use the wireless features. So I guess that the wired connection is secure. Thanks in advance for any answer to my question... Ben

As long as your router firewall is enabled so that you are protected from the side internet piracy.

Your wireless security keeps people out of your wireless network.

Connection to the ethernet requires someone inside the location that I assume the doors a locked

Please don't be crazy about me, but I don't see what's in your specific assignment for the Toshiba forum.

You should speak with your company's network administrator and it should be able to help you. Otherwise, perhaps on some network specific forum you will have more chance to find what is the solution to your problem.

If you have laptop Toshiba and everything you need for the connection works fine, I put t see to write here.

In any case I wish good luck and hope that your network administrator will be able to help you.

  • Compatibility of software CD / download Connect Linksys with Mac OS x 10.4.11

I bought a Linksys E1200 and I am running Mac OSX 10.4.11. As I have an eMac G4, I can't run a higher operating system. The CD supplied with the E1200 will not organize the Linksys Connect software, because it is not compatible with Mac OS x 10.4.11. When I download the Linksys Connect software from the support section of the Linksys site (version 1 or 2), same problem. I read that I can use the E1200 Mac OSX 10.4.11, but how? Get very frustrated and you'd be grateful any advice/assistance practice. Thank you!

    Hi bassist71,

You can actually do the installation manually. It is done by accessing the configuration of the route through 192.168.1.1 page and configuring settings according to your type of Internet connection. If you have a cable connection, you can check this link, http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=0ff4c94586a345d082828ec2161aaecf_3686.xml&pid=80&r... • Help! I need to connect Linksys WAP4400N 3 to an existing linksys WRT350N router

    Please someone help me.

I have a modem connected to a router (Linksys WRT350N). The router is connected to a PC and then connected wireless to 3 laptops. Everything works very well.

Now I need to extend the network to 2 other floors and so just bought 3 Access Points (WAP4400N). The plan is to make a wired connection to router for APs on each floor. The router is on the ground floor. I asked the CAT5e cables to the location of the router for the 2 floors where the APs will be.

Now, this is my problem: when I'm on the upper floors and plug the cables directly on my laptop (AP off and not connected to the cable) I can connect to the internet with the cable connected to the router on the ground floor. I can also connect to the internet via the AP when it is connected to and sitting on the same table as the router on the ground of grongd. However when I take the AP to the upper floors and then connect the cables already thrown for this on the uppr floors I am unable to connect to the internet, but get a 'LIMITED CONNECTIVITY' message.

Please can someone give an instruction step by step how install and configure a Linksys WRT350 Wireless Router to a Linksys WAP4400N Access Point

NB. whenever I tried to select automatic DHCP against IP STATIC on the WAP4400N installer it will just in an endless "Please WAIT... RESTART SYSTEM' and the screen remains like this for. So I was able to use STATIC IP in the WAP4400N configuration.

Since yesterday and today, I have been on it.

Any help will be much appreciated.

    Kind regards.

Well done to death. You advice was more useful. However, I think I need to make this post

The problem has been as a result of lower cable at my provider. The network is running smoothly. Has been in place since last week when I replaced the lower quality cat5e cable cat5e cable.

A Board here please be careful and make sure you complete the cable correctly. A bad end can lead to connection problems I discovered in this case when my team confidence terminated cable incorrectly.

Network is up to & operational

Thank you death your help has been invaluable.

Unfortunately, the Toshiba STOR. E BASICS - BLACK 2.5 specifications page "-1.5 to provides no details on the controller, but in my view the inside of the box, you will find a common SATA 2.5 which is connected to a controller HDD USB SATA."

  • about connection iPod video car

I have an old video of ipod. I connect it to my car with a usb adapter that is due to the fact battery will not hold a charge. He however repeat myself "ok to disconnect" on the screen even if it will play the music. I have to unplug the unit to see the screen and change the song. Is it possible to plug it into the car and be able to still see the music list?

What happens if you do a Reset when it is connected?

Learn how to reset your iPod - Apple Support

If you connect it to a USB port on a car audio system, you can connect to the current (or "cigarette lighter") using the appropriate adapter.  If the connection is purely a power connection, I don't think you will get the message OK to disconnect .  It would be like the connection of the iPod to a power USB home adapter.

Because your computer has a DVI - D port, you can simply us for the connection.  You don't need VGA, also.  If you want to use the HDMI, you can buy a USB 2.0 to HDMI video adapter.  StarTech makes these adapters.  If you decide to go in this direction, I suggest you contact their Custome Service to ensure that you get the right adapter.

I posted this question in another room but thought I would repost it here.

  • I run Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 (SP3) on a desktop, not a laptop. How can I go about connecting to a Signal Wi - Fi?

Whenever I try to make a link to a Wi - Fi signal, it doesn't let me. I opened my network page and it just says this: "CONNECTING to the NETWORK LOCAL IS DISCONNECTED a CABLE IS UNPLUGGED." I went through and tried to set up networks, and again, it won't let me.

Your office has a wifi adapter?  Open the Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK) and expand (click on the +) the category "network adapters."  Please report (full names, please) all of the devices listed there.  If any device displays a warning icon, double-click it and report the message under "device status".

What did you do to 'set up network '?  Please be as complete and detailed as possible.

What version of Windows you have, including the service pack?  (right click on desktop and select Properties, if you are not sure of your level pack Windows version or a service).

  • Cisco Cloud Connect (Linksys Smart Wi - Fi) just stay "pending"...

I have an EA6500 router that I have set up a home network and started using the application Cisco Clod connect successfully.  I was able to use the app for my smartphone and the PC at home a week ago.  But now, when I try to access it - I just a sign 'pending '.  My account ID and password is correct and I even try to access with the router password I get the same answer.

    Can anyone offer a solution?

    Thank you very much.

Sorry, I forgot to come back here and post what I ended up doing to fix this.  All I had to do was hold the tiny reset button until the router is reloaded with the default settings.  It is the button in the back, you'll need to use something like the end of a pen or pencil, etc. to drive.  What I've read, it seems that the router retains some of the old settings which are not compatible with the new version of 'cloud' of the firmware.  I hope this helps

  • S2240T, Inspiron 531, about connection

I recently bought a new computer XPS 8700 (to deliver) that goes along with the above screen. In the meantime, I changed the hard drive on my Dell Inspiron 531 desktop PC and got it working again. I was hoping to connect the new monitor to my Inspiron 531, but the new monitor has an additional connection (VGA), and I get the message "no VGA connection. My Inspiron 531 has no such connection VGA to connect the cable for the new monitor. So my question is: is it possible that I can get the S2240T monitor to work with my Inspiron 531? Thank you!

Our tool shows that the card 256 MB Nvidia 8600GT discreet has been installed in the Inspiron 531 desktop computer. Looking at your system image I posted, the video card is on the bottom. You must purchase a DVI cable. Plug one end into the DVI port monitor and the other end to the background video card DVI port.

  • About connection network blackBerry Smartphones

    Hello everyone!

At first, I must say that I am a newbie with the BlackBerry.

    I use T-Mobile as a career.

The maximum speed I get from the repartir0 of the career is 7.2/1,4 Mbps... However, my question is this:

If I am at home with my device BB and at home I have the WiFi router and my BB is connected, if I try to open certain pages or some do sort of request to the Internet, the BB will use the 3G connection or my WiFi?

I tried to check the system where I can order the connections (1. WiFi - or tier 2. 3 tc g.)

It is perhaps a silly question, but please help me!

    Best regards

    Dean

    Hiya!

    and the answer is...

If you connect wirelessly, your device will use it instead of your 3 G/EDGE current connection. When not in the scope of the WiFi, it will be automatically 3 G/EDGE.
