Access BIOS Setup

I'm trying to access the BIOS settings, but I failed. I installed vmware server and set up a virtual computer. When I power the virtual machine I don't see any BIOS Setup screen to change the boot order. So I changed the virtual machine to "enter the configuration screen of the BIOS in the next time you start this virtual machine", but it has not worked. The configuration of the BIOS screen did not appear. So I changed the file vmx with "bios.bootDelay ="10000""but I couldn't see any BIOS splash screen when I powered up the virtual machine." What can it be bad? Why the BIOS Setup screen does not appear? I'm doing something wrong? Can someone help me?

Is it possible that you have not installed the web console client and you only see the VMware logo?

Remove the battery and the AC adapter, press the power 1 minute button to reset capacitors.

Next step the unit only with the power adapter and press ESC at startup, and then choose F10 option.

If the problem persists perhaps your HARD drive may have problems, then test the device without a HARD drive.

  • Z61t - Error Codes: 0176 and 0271 - cannot access Bios Setup Utility - help!

Greetings.   I have a portable Z61t and just when I booted up it I got two errors: 0176, which is a mistake of security/tampering and 0271 indicating the time and date are not set.  From there I guess he's trying to load the BIOS configuration so that errors can be corrected, but it requires a password that I do not have.  After the manual removing the main battery and the battery backup will solve the problem of password, but it's NOT.  Nothing I've tried has allowed me to get past this screen.  I can't even work around it and just get the operating system to load.  I've read tons of forum discussions, but so far nothing I've tried has worked.

The password it is demanding is the supervisor password, you need to remember or find out that value.

  • Portege Z30 - cannot access the bios Setup

    Hello

I can't enter BIOS setup when starting. Pressing on F2 allows me to enter the master password and HDD/SDD (confirmed validation), but the screen freezes at the "Toshiba configuration utility' graphics without any progress.

This problem began to appear quite suddenly, I enter the setup of BIOS several times before without any problem. The only change that's happened that I know is an event of disruption/recovery failed.

My suspicion is that the laptop is now in the start-up of hi-speed system. Can anyone confirm that? Is it possible to force it to boot normal start time? I'm using Linux, so I can't use the Windows of Toshiba Utilities.

    > I'm using Linux, so I can't use the Windows of Toshiba Utilities.
That s bad:(dans le Toshiba HW Setup vous trouveriez un paramètre pour modifier l'option vitesse de démarrage.)

    > My suspicion is that the laptop is now in the start-up of hi-speed system. Can anyone confirm that?
Hmm in my opinion, if the start-up speed would be set to fast, you wouldn't be able to press F2 and enter the BIOS password.

However, in other cases, if the startup mode is set to fast, you can enter the first INS key BIOS and press the F2 key

    Give it a try.

  • To access the BIOS Setup on Pavilion G62 running Windows 7

I'm trying to fix a virus Malware white screen and in the process, I need to be able to start my laptop from the USB key. By pressing "ESC" annoys me to the Start Menu and which lists "BIOS Setup" as F10, but I can't scroll down to this option nor the fact by pressing F10 (or any other listed functions) get no response.

Am I being dumb here or the Trojan horse has disabled the ability to use the function keys. If the latter is there anything else I can try please?

    Hi Malcolm,

It is always interesting to try a Hard Reset as follows.

Shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Plug the power adapter (leave the battery for now) and see if the keyboard responds.

Another option would be to connect a USB keyboard (if you have one available).

If there is no change, can you post back with the complete model number and the laptop Nr - see here for a guide to the location of such information.

    Kind regards

  • Quick start function - how to access BIOS?

    Hello

Recently, I activated the Fast Boot option in the BIOS and now I can't access BIOS again.
I have try press F2 bit after power is on but does not work.

Do you have ideas of how enter to the BIOS?

    Hello

Quick start can be enabled or disabled in the system of windows running.
Toshiba preinstalled application called system settings allows allows you to load the default settings.

In the case where Windows 7 is pre-installed, check the tool called Toshiba HWsetup that should be included in all programs-> Toshiba

But you should also be able to access the BIOS, press the INSERT key and then the key F2
Also try the F12 key. Now in the boot menu should appear where you can choose the option Enter Setup.

This will allow you to access the BIOS

  • Portege R700 - access BIOS

I met the flaw that arises on the addition of a password for admin for the BIOS on my R700. I added the password directly in the BIOS itself that I have re-installed windows on a SSD and as such do not have the installed toshiba bloatware.

now when I try to access the BIOS at startup by pressing the ESC key, I get a black screen and white message saying press F2 to enter setup. I press F2 and the system restarts and the windows load, or if I press the same new message Esc. it will make a loop like that forever without access BIOS. pressing F1 doesn't do nothing as does the Esc at the request of press F2.

so, essentially, I'm completely locked out of my own BIOS. I tried to put the old HDD back with toshiba inside Security Manager, but it does not find any BIOS password so I can't remove it using this

My next plan was to simply remove the computer and remove the CMOS battery and allow the BIOS reset to default values... However I know that this works on some computers not all, so my question is, is - it's worth it? or if not what can I do to get back into my BIOS?

    Thank you

    Hi 1994F7PT

Turn on your laptop and press INS key and the prompt for the supervisor password. Enter the password supervisor and when it s created then a menu appears with the following operation (F2 for BIOS, F12 for the boot menu, etc.).

    Check this box!

  • HP Compaq 6000: Access BIOS

Is F10 key to use P.O.S.T. to access the configuration of the BIOS on this machine?  (HP 6000 and 6100)

    Thank you

    Larry

    Hi, Larry:

If your model is the HP 6000 Pro desktop version, then Yes, you press the F10 key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen to enter the BIOS Setup menu.

If this does not work for you, try to clear the CMOS memory.

To clear the CMOS memory, see Appendix B, pages 57 and 58 of the guide to troubleshooting on the link below.

If clearing cmos is unable to remedy the problem, so I don't have any other suggestions for you.

  • Re: Satellite A500-1GL - Can t Access BIOS aftre updated

    Hello
    I have a laptop A500-1GL.
Yesterday, I checked that the drivers download page, just to check if there is something new. and I noticed that there was a new version of the BIOS.

    My old BIOS:
    SystemBiosVersion: 1.6
    SystemBiosDate: 05/06/10

    the Web site was:
    Version: 1.7
    Date: 29/07/10

So, I downloaded this file and flashed the BIOS... after the reboot, I checked the "regedit". and the version was changed to 1.7, but the date remains the same (05/06/10)!

Now, this isn't a big problem - I know, but I wanted to check the BIOS configuration (before the start).
So I restarted the laptop, you press "DEL"... nothing happened, went straight to Windows!
    I tried again, with F1, F2 ~ F12... anyway.
So, how can I access the BIOS Setup screen? I tried re-flashing the BIOS again, but he keep saying that I already have the new version, so I can't flash.

    any ideas?

    Hello

    > So, I restarted the laptop, you press "DEL"... nothing happened, went straight to Windows!
    > I tried again, with F1, F2 ~ F12... anyway.

It looks at, start fast, active in the Bios. Read this thread, the Andrusito guy explained how he has disabled it:
