I click on the link to the 'security' tab, but there is not any tab 'security' in the Properties menu for the flash player.

My connection is the administrator and checked all access "."

I also tried other flash drives and USB hard drive, and has been denied access on each of them.

Not sure if this is a Windows 7 problem or a problem with the HP software pre-loaded, which I probably will unistall, but is waiting to see if you have an easy solution for this?

It was the pre-installed "HP Device Manager" causing the denied access.

For some reason, as a first step, good ball messages were not disaplayed, but later, after a few restart, I noticed the message.

So I uninstalled it and I now access external drives... of course do not need that hassle to enter my password every time I attach a flash or external hard drive driver (and it only giving me access for 15 minutes).

Maybe there is a way to change the settings in the HP Device Manager... but people don't have the time!

    Help, please

original title: double-click the hard drive to access it I get__ "location is not available" "access denied."

The fact that the total size and the use of the drive does not appear suggests that may not be connected correctly.  Check your connections (unplug them and reconnect them - don't tighten them just straight up).  Also, make sure you use the right connection cables.  When connected, you can see the Drive and the drive M in Windows Explorer - you should even if access is denied when you try to open?  You can access drive M?  If you do not see the drives in Windows Explorer there is more here than a simple permissions problem.

Here is some information on getting the right permissions and ownership (which, moreover, you do not have the procedure that you used).

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista:http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/. To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article:http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/.

To solve this problem with folders/drives, takeownership files or the drive (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  You can change now switched to read-only (even if the main folder indicates that they are always read-only - you can access yourself as the owner).  You can keep them in read-only to other users, customers and administrators even (although they can support themselves and access, if they wish, and it is really not that you can do to stop it except protect the file with a password by using a 3rd party product.)  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html. To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article:http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  • Access denied to my drive H: on windows vista. How to regain access?

Ok? I; m do not know what I did exactly... I am the administrator of my desktop computer. I have Windows Vista. I created another user account, and I wanted to restrict this other user account access to my H: drive and my drive J: (my external hard drive). In the process, I managed to also put this restriction on me, and NOW it gives me an "Access denied" error message to both my drive H: and J: drive.

How can I get (I'm the only admin) access my H:, J:, and C: drives and RESTRICTING (DENY) any user on my desktop with Windows Vista account? Please help me.

  • Access denied to external drive

I have an external drive, which works perfectly well. But I've just updated from vista to W7, and now I can not access the disk from that specific computer. I get access denied. On the properties, all users have full access. And the funny part is on my other computer, with the exact same OS, the drive works perfectly. So, I expect that there is a setting that I didn't know.
Is there someone with good ideas on how to solve this problem?

  • Access denied update printer driver

I just bought a HP6520 that can connect to my network. I can install the full software from HP, but when I try to install the printer on my PC it tells me that I have to update the driver.

I can download the latest drivers via Device Manager, but when I try to install I get Windows has encountered a problem... Access denied.

    Would appreciate much help

    Hi CaroleWest,

Thanks for getting back to me!

I would first of all make sure the account that you are logged as an administrator account. This link will help you to do.

Then, run this Microsoft, attach it to the tool which will help you to uninstall or install the printer.

If it is possible for you to try to install the printer on another computer, do so. This will confirm if the problem is with your operating system or printer. If the printer has a problem, the installation will not work on another computer either.

Alternatively, you can try to re-setup of the printer using the printer HP install wizard for Windows.

If it still does not no matter what magic, try to disable your firewall (for example, McAfee or Norton) during the installation where it is what blocks the installation.

I hope that does the trick!

Keep me posted and I'll get back to you as soon as I can

  • Set security on 'Decline' for users of Windows/object, cannot access a drive C and d. 'Access denied'-[[problem solved]]

    last updated *.

Problem is SOLVED. Read my response at the bottom of this thread.

    * Update *.

Solved for drive D as now but it is still not accessible. Help the Microsoft Experts kindly. By clicking on the C drive, I got "access denied."

    Hello world.

I need help. I have windows 8, 64 bit computer laptop.  This system has 3 active accounts now. Account_One that is my administrator account. I have another

"limited account" created on my machine Account_two and the third one is "Guest account" account that is enabled.

Before you lend my cell phone to a friend in Account_two login I tried to restrict access to drives C and D of this Account_two which is a limited account.

While I was doing it, I put approval for object 'Windows users' 'decline '. This object is usually the last in the list of objects on the window that appears when we sail to click with the right button on C drive > properties > Security. I realized that instead of

for Account_two I did for Windows users / which means maybe Windows/users / * which covered my admin account too and that too on the drive root C.

When I connected to my Account_one account that is an administrator account, I'm not able to access drive C and D where I put the authorization of 'decline' for all the attributes as shown above to object/Windows users.

One of the folder that was on my desktop allows me to go inside the d drive as I kept this shortcut for easy access, but there is no way to navigate from c or d ' training on domestic issues. Not just me even Windows can not access important services such as 'Restore' and many others built in utilities of windows which simply will not charge blinking message windows has no access to it!

Please help how to access drive C and D for my administrator account. I am connected to this account now, but can not access drive C or d. when I go to the Security tab in the drive C and D right click Properties I get the screen it as: you must have read allowed to view the properties of this object. Click Advanced to continue. When I click on advanced, I see the "advanced security settings for local disk (d :)), where the owner is presented as: unable to display current owner."  Exchange (Link) when I click on 'Change' I get the error message: cannot open access control editor access is denied.

So I put the Windows/user object to "deny" on the tab security for all read and writes, and I'm not able to access anything whatsoever since my administrator account.

Please let me know how to change access to 'allow' for c and D drive for the object user/Windows. From now there is no way to access this object by result cannot set permissions there.

    Help, please.

    Thank you very much.

    Thank you very much.

    Problem is SOLVED!

After three days of effort I was finally able to fix this mess.  It took me three days after going through many similar positions as mine but no final answer or fix, so I kept

through the 'access denied' messages on this community and won an idea on what

had happened and what needed to be done. What I found that there are several hundred people

like me, who have faced this problem and there is no final official help file to explain how to fix

He IS but he MICROSFT official 'support chat' where they ask for $149 to connect remotely and difficulty

    the problem!

in any case, here's how I solved my problem for people who need to fix it in case it happens to you.

How the problem began; Read my original post above on top. In short, I set the security setting to refuse to

Users of Windows/under the Security tab that comes after a right click drive then properties > Security. I put it and lost access to all readers!

    How I fixed it.

Thanks to some nice people on this page of the community who have posted knowledge. A man had displayed the creation of "Administrator" "guest account of orders that I did now, I could sign out of my account and get on the 'Administrator' account with admin privileges so that I could fix it the mess on my account problem. So if you have similar problem first create the command prompt administrator account. However this only solved the problem partially as I could reverse the problem only on drive D and not on the drive C. I was able to go to security settings and set the properties 'allow' for drive D, but I was not able to read the page of security for drive C as he said I haven't read privilege he even newly created admin account.

Now if I needed the "Access denied" problem on drive C. I continued through messages of so many "access denied" here and discovered about utilities like SFC, TAKEOWN, ICACLS, but none of them worked from the command prompt I always said "access denied."

Thing was to take the mouse to the right of the screen and get this blue bar, then settings > change PC settings > General - Advanced startup-press the button -. Then he made up the blue screen, where you have the option called troubleshooting... go there and then advanced setting > look to start Windows from the command prompt. Do you have a command prompt with C:\windows\system32 on the command prompt. Here, my order was accepted both takeown and icacls. If I shot a command there: TAKEOWN /F /R C:\/a and I also tried icacls to give permissions after checking using the syntax on the command line itself. All commands ran successfully this time, but be careful what you give in the command. It's under a lien high built based on the account of Windows 8.

Takeown command executed successfully and it solved my problem. I leave the command prompt then connected to this administrator account. This time, I could go to the Security tab of the C drive and set allow it for users here. Still on some issues, I was getting no access permission, but I was asked to change it to allow me to access to and I was able to do.

For access to the C drive on the Security tab, you need to go to the 'Advanced' and change the owner too.

in any case I'm happy this is finally resolved even if I wasn't getting much help responds I used the previous positions of other threads to solve.

Since he was not an official help of WINDOWS or MICROSOFT on that page, I'm sure I did the security setting while making the methods of trial and error on my machine which may not be the right setting from the point of view of security in general, so I'll try to reset the default state machine as my problem is now solved.

So I fixed it. If you need help let me know and I'll try to help you, and I do not charge $149 or $99.  ;-)

  • "ERROR: access denied"on the partition does not work no security and takeown tab.

    Hi assistants.

It is my last resource to solve my problem, hope that someone can understand. Any help is appreciated.

I'm unable to takeown to my hard drive using one of the following:

    • Run cmd as admin takeown /f l:
    • Log in as administrator, cmd, takeown /f l:
    • Takeown /f l,: run takeown in Safe Mode (with command line),
It always returns "ERROR: access denied."

In the beginning, I have removed all the user/group permissions via right click-> properties-> Security-> edit and he urged something on the legacy, so I followed this and removed everything. (Little I didn't know that it can't be undone...)

Now when I right click on the drive and make appear the properties, there is no security tab and left click says access denied.

Sorry, I'm just ideas. Here are the options I have for you:
    (a) see if you can do something when the machine with your repair CD Windows 7 starts in a Repair Mode command prompt.

  • Access denied for backup external hard drive

    Hello

I can not access my old files stored on an external hard drive Maxtor. It gives me an access denied error.

I tried what you posted in another forum.

Here are the steps to change the ownership and permissions:

      1. Right-click on the file or folder, click Properties , and then click the Security tab.
      2. Click Advanced , and then click the owner tab.
      3. Click Edit , and then do one of the following:

    ·         To change the owner to a user or group that is not listed, click other users and groups , in area enter the object name to select (examples) , type the name of the user or group, and then click OK .

    ·         To change the owner to a user or group that appears in the area of change of ownership to , click the new owner.

    4. If you want to take ownership of the contents of the folder, select the check box Replace owner of subcontainers and objects .

    5. click OK and then click Yes when you receive the following message is displayed:

You are not allowed to read the contents of directory folder_name . Do you want to replace the the directory permissions with permissions granting you full control?

All permissions will be replaced if you click Yes .

Note folder_name is the name of the folder you want to take charge.

    6. click on OK and then reapply the permissions and security settings that you want for the folder and its contents.

    Additional considerations

      • An administrator can take ownership of any file on the computer.
      • Affecting the ownership of a file or a folder might require that raise you your permissions using user access control.

I got a laptop with Windows XP and these files have been backed up with XP as my operating system. Then I changed my laptop with Vista and cannot access files - they are just NTO open!

    Help, please!

  • I installed an external drive seagate, but keep geeting access denied message

Microsoft code ox80070005 keeps popping up and text says access denied. I have a drive letter assigned to the external drive, but it says the last backup failed.

    Hello

    1. How are you trying to backup?

    2. you are using a third-party backup program?

    3. have you been able to backup before without any problem?

    4. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

This error code means that the file or folder you want to backup does not have the necessary permissions.

    Method 1:

If you need to make a backup of any file or folder, please ensure that give you all the permissions for that particular file or folder.

To establish authorizationrecord, see the procedure below:

    a. right click on the file or folderand then click Properties.

    b. click on Security tab.

    c. under names of Group or user , click on your name to see the permissions you have.

    d. If they don't get permission, click on edit, and give the full control.

    e. then check if you are able to backup.

    Check out the link:

    What are the permissions?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-are-permissions

    Method 2:

Try to temporarily disable your anti-virus and malware during execution of the backup. If the backup works fine, then you have to search for updates and firewall settings in the security software.

Note: Be sure to enable the security software and firewall on the computer and the router after verification.

    Hope this information is useful.
