Access to Nexus

Hello

I was wondering, is it advisable to connect a switch to an extention of fabric Nexus 2248 catalyst access?

In this design the 3750 X switch are connected to the catalyst switches for access to the PC. The Nexus switches would be linked to the servers

I maybe out of ports on the X 3750 switches and the 2248 s nexus are cheaper than 3750 X. The Nexus 2248 will have a large number of ports available, since there are not very many servers.

Is there a reason does not connect the FEX 2248 catalyst access switches?

You're supposed to do not to hang the access switches in a fex.  They will have to go directly to the 5000. I believe that by default the fexes enabled on all ports of bpduguard and you cannot turn it off so if he sees all bpdus from switch to access it will err - disable ports. If I'm wrong maybe someone else can chime.

  • Can I recover from a damaged screen Nexus 4 Firefox bookmarks?

I cleverly broke the screen on my Nexus 4 lately, so while the phone itself works (and I can log in to view / edit files using a USB cable), I can't do anything that involves the use of the screen (download / running apps, writing, etc.).

I have now replaced it with a Samsung Galaxy S6 and have installed the Firefox browser for mobiles, but would like to get my old favorites off the coast of the Nexus. I hadn't used synchronization, or all apps to save them, so I guess my only option is if I can copy in the whole of system files.

Is it possible- and if so, where can I find the? I found a Computer\Nexus 4\Internal storage\Android\data\org.mozilla.firefox folder, but it doesn't seem to have anything in it (0 files, 2 folders). I'm not very optimistic at this point, but appreciate any suggestions!

You would need to root the phone to access the bookmarks/history file (browser.db).

I have a Nexus 7 run Android version 4.4.2. I get emails from my account gmail on it without problem, but they do not come in my Inbox in Thunderbird on the desktop PC more and I would that they. I don't have the mind to read emails on the Tablet, but I would say rather desktop, because I can actually type and the keyboard of the Tablet is a pain.

  • Bricks of Nexus?

First of all, I apologize if this is a topic is not allowed here, but I (and many others) are at a crossroads. I searched and saw no that this issue addressed anywhere on here.

I'll try and keep this as short as possible...

Tried to update to 5.1 by flashing the Google provide images of the factory - made several times without problem through some features of Nexus. I love flashing clean, so I didn't before flashing the .img file factory:

    fastboot erase boot

    fastboot erase cache

    fastboot erase recovery

    fastboot erase system

I then proceeds to Flash.. .img files after flashing images of factory I have a loop the start of Google screen. I can always access fastboot, but I locked my bootloader (STUPIDLY) after flashing 5.1 files that I wanted to go completely stock. Now I can't Flash images, because I have a locked bootloader and I can't oem unlock in fastboot as he falls down and wrote:

    Unlock C:\Android\sdk\platform-Tools>fastboot oem

    ...

(bootloader) Check "allow the OEM Unlock' in the developer Options.

    FAILED (remote failure)

    Finish. total time: 0.000

And of course I can't check this box that I can not boot into Android...

Is there ANYTHING I can do to recover from this?

Hoping someone can help me here. I try to connect my Nexus 7 on my Photosmart 5520 and I can't manage it.

    Hi John,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community and we give the opportunity to help you.

If you have any documents on your old computer, you must copy the files like documents or photos on your USB Flash drive first. Connect the USB stick or external hard drive to Nexus 7 tablet and manually copy photos or documents.

Alternatively, you can use SkyDrive to access any file from anywhere. For more information, see the following article:

    Hello

If you have configured ports such as access to VLANs ports, who are either:

    (a) not configured on the switch / present in the database for vlan.

    or

    (b) present in the database, but it is in a suspended state.

You will encounter this problem.  Please can you check the status of the VLAN?

  • L3 Nexus 7000 routing Proxy

    Hello

I propose Nexsu 7000 as backbone switch for my client.

But I do not understand why proxy L3 routing must be used under M & F2 mixed condition.

But module F2 also bear all capacity of L3, L3 routing dosen't support of the F2 module with module of the M series.

Could you tell me why this is happening and explain Nexus 7000 architecture?

    Thank you

    Yun.

M2 + F2e in same VDC works dated 6.2 (2), in which case F2e module returns to the classic transmission L2 mode, leaving all L3 decisions up to the M2 module, so you still need L3 routing proxy.

I think the reasoning behind this is because of the motor M2 L3 being much more potent than the freight forwarder F2e L3.  For example, the motor M2 can make OTV, the impossible F2e.  Logic to return L3 decisions for a more powerful card.

What I find strange is that although F2e online map has an integrated transmission of L3 engine, that I can not configure the IP of L3 addresses directly on F2e ports.  Creating a VLAN SVI and by setting the port access mode F2e work, but if I only need a link point single point of L3 between the Nexus 7 K and another device, and I have configured the vPC, vPC then in an inconsistent with Type 2 State, because the VLAN and/or IVR is not present on the switch of peers.

  • OnPlus discovery and Nexus 5548

    Hello

I just installed an OnPlus agent for a customer who has a Nexus with a 3 layer daugthter card 5548 as their central switch, but the agent is not discovered any device beyond the vlan in which he is sitting.  Does anyone have any experience with the OnPlus ageent and Nexus switches.  It is obviously not a Cisco device supported but I configured IDs connection and snmp access to the switch on the portal, but still nothing is discovered.  Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Concerning

    Ian

    Hi Ian,

To discover the multi - VLAN, connect the On100 to an 802. 1 q trunk port. This will allow the On100 discover other VLANs. It is currently connected to an access port which is to limit the broadcast traffic of the other VLAN.

Although the device is not currently supported, he discovered and enable basic support we provide for all detected devices.

    Thank you

  • Topology of Nexus 5 k / FCoE extending between 2 campus

    Hello

I need help to answer the following questions related to the interconnection of 2 campuses (top and bottom in the attached diagram) using the ports of FCoE Nexus 5 K:

    Please check the attached topology.

    QUESTIONS RELATING TO THE:

    Multi-hop FCoE:

    ·         The link (10G, SFP +) between pairs of N5k, interconnecting 2 campuses, carry FCoE traffic (Ethernet and FC on the same link):

    ·         Can servers with the adapters of the ANC in the lower Campus, store access the CF in the upper Campus?

    ·         Can the server with HBA FC adapters in the lower Campus, store access the CF in the upper Campus?

    ·         Can expand us the tissue 2fc between the 2 sites using this link of FCoE?

    ·         This link can carry the traffic of Ethernet between 2 LANs (between Upper and Lower campus)

    Thank you.

It is therefore 3km for FCoE traffic. "but in the case of traffic FC (via FCoE)(, ce que je veux dire si nous avons deles de serveurs avec deles de adaptateurs HBA FC dans le Campus inférieur, accès àle stockage FC dans le Campus supérieur) binding, is it always 3 km limitation? or less?

-> 3 km, independent how the initiators and targets are connected. (Limitation is for a single jump of FCoe)

About using the native CF option to extend this link (of course withouth ethernet), to go for an MDS switch? or module of the simple use of the CF to the Nexus 5 k 2?

-> You can do it directly using CF Module if you run the N5K in switching mode (not in NPV Mode)

do you have a referral link, mentioning these distances?

-> Sorry I also had this information via Cisco SE

  • Nexus 1000v, UCS, and Microsoft NETWORK load balancing

    Hi all

I have a client that implements a new Exchange 2010 environment. They have an obligation to configure load balancing for Client Access servers. The environment consists of VMware vShpere running on top of Cisco UCS blades with the Nexus 1000v dvSwitch.

Everything I've read so far indicates that I must do the following:

1 configure MS in Multicast mode load balancing (by selecting the IGMP protocol option).

    2. create a static ARP entry for the address of virtual cluster on the router for the subnet of the server.

    3. (maybe) configure a static MAC table entry on the router for the subnet of the server.

    3. (maybe) to disable the IGMP snooping on the VLAN appropriate in the Nexus 1000v.

    My questions are:

    1. any person running successfully a similar configuration?

2 are there missing steps in the list above, or I shouldn't do?

    3. If I am disabling the snooping IGMP on the Nexus 1000v should I also disable it on the fabric of UCS interconnections and router?

Thanks a lot for your time,.

    Aaron

    Aaron,

The steps above you are correct, you need steps 1-4 to operate correctly.  Normally people will create a VLAN separate to their interfaces NLB/subnet, to prevent floods mcast uncessisary frameworks within the network.

    To answer your questions

    (1) I saw multiple clients run this configuration

    (2) the steps you are correct

    (3) you can't toggle the on UCS IGMP snooping.  It is enabled by default and not a configurable option.  There is no need to change anything within the UCS regarding MS NLB with the above procedure.  FYI - the ability to disable/enable the snooping IGMP on UCS is scheduled for a next version 2.1.

This is the correct method untill the time we have the option of configuring static multicast mac entries on
the Nexus 1000v.  If this is a feature you'd like, please open a TAC case and request for bug CSCtb93725 to be linked to your SR.

This will give more "push" to our develpment team to prioritize this request.

Hopefully some other customers can share their experience.

  • Can I generate self-signed certificates free for Nexus 9 K?

Hi, I have 22 9Ks Nexus that I just upgraded to 3,0000 I4 so I can use the REST API.

I use vRealize Orchestrator for automation, and I can't access the REST API on the Orchestrator help link, as certificates are at expiration.

I can't find much information on this subject for the 9 K, unless the 9Ks are mode of the AIT, in this case I think that TACS are the only people who can generate a certificate.

Does anyone know otherwise work around this? Otherwise, I'll have to approach a TAC case for 22 certificates generated :-/

    Cheers, Dom

I'm not familiar with the technology with what you're trying to integrate, but here's a guide on how generate a custom SSC (self-signed Cert) on a device:
    #conf t
#hostname DEVICE01-NOTE: must not be changed
    #ip - domain test.local

generate a General key label SSC_KEY module 2048 rsa key #crypto

    #crypto pki trustpoint SSC_LOCAL
    #subject - name, CN = DEVICE, DC = test, DC = local
    #enrollment selfsigned
    # crl revocation checking
    #rsakeypair SSC_KEY 2048

#crypto ca enroll COMMAND SSC_LOCAL HIDDEN: initiate the creation of SSC

% Include the serial number of the router in the name of the topic? [Yes/No]: no
% Include an IP address in the name of the topic? [None]:
% Generate self signed certificate router? [Yes/No]: Yes

    Router self-signed certificate created successfully

After this make sure that you do NOT change the host name of the device :)

  • Nexus 1000v Vmotion

    Hello.

Is it possible to activate/add a vmotion port-profile after the hosts have been migrated in the Nexus DVS?

The hosts are ESXi4.1 update 1 with a single vmk0, double nic

The documentation I have, we need to create groups of vmk additional before adding the host in the DVS and those port-profile maps then.

I need to add these vmk in retrospect, that the hosts are in a production environment.

    Thank you

    Danie

Yes.  First create a Port for VMotion on the MSM profile.  Then select the host and go to Configuration-> Neworking-> manage e-cards-> Add-> new map virtual adapter/Migrate virtual.

This will allow you a VMK new interfaces configuration and/or entitlement profile VMotion Port created previously.

VMotion port-profile would look something like:

    profile port vethernet dvs_vmotion type

    VMware-port group

    switchport mode access

    switchport access vlan x

    no downtime

    enabled state

    Kind regards

  • groups of IP addresses are supported on Nexus-5000 and models down?

Looking online, I see the ip address of the object-group is explicitly listed as

supprted on Nexus 7000 but on other model documents command is confusing.

For example, for Nexus-5000 references to IP address source/destination to refuse the order group objects exist in the documentation older versions of NX - OS 4.0 and 4.1 (with no explicit object-group command is listed in the same CLI reference) but in v5.x current source/destination shows no Group of IP addresses as available choice.

Can one with access to the Nexus 5000 or 3000 check if the ip address of the object-group is an order valid on this platform?

It seems full support (like on IOS), using the IP address groups was established in v6 NX - OS (which only works on platform 7000).

There was also presented on the lower models?

Is there a way to check why the hosts on 141 VLAN are joined not successfully?  port-profile on the 1000V configuration of vlan 140 and vlan 141 rising and vmkernel are identical, except for the different numbers vlan.

    Thank you

    Trevor

    Hi Trevor,

Once the quick thing to check would be the config igmp for both VLAN.

where did you configure the interrogator for the vlan 140 and 141?

are there changes in transport VXLAN crossing routers? If so you would need routing multicast enabled.

    Thank you!
