Access to safe mode

I have a refurbished Dell Optiplex 745 desktop computer. I'm with Windows 7 Pro installed. I then upgraded to Windows to 10, which subsequently installed the first update the operating system. Ten days ago, I received a message that some app had caused a problem and I lost all the files on my desktop, except those by default. I decided to restore from a backup and restored the original computer W 7 Pro. No problem, I thought. I have only to connect to the internet and to spend again at 10 w. problem, it is, I can't connect to the internet. There is no problem with the internet itself that the other computers connect normally.

I've been on Microsoft that were helpful. The procedure recommended by them requires the safe boot mode. My problem is that I can't. At the start, I have two options - Setup f2 and f12 Boot Menu. None of them has a Safe Mode option.

Microsoft advises whether Dell or Dell Community assistance to allow me to access Safe Mode boot. I should add that, although I'm not a complete novice with computers, I'm far from an expert. Any help will be much appreciated.

Once this is sorted (I hope), I think I'll stick with Windows 7!

F8 disappears to always WIN10 improved 7.  F8 applies to WIN7.  Installed at the factory is destroyed by the upgrade.  Win7 does not have native network drivers.  If it worked before and is not now it's scorched earth requiring malware wipe all re install.

Nightmare; perfectly working windows 7 64-bit configuration I upgraded (stupidly) to Windows 8 (it seems installing a 32-bit version for my troubles). I installed a driver for a having previously worked USB WiFi adapter (that is, it was working fine before the upgrade) and now it does not start. It says "irql less than equal", says his collection of information and restarts to a kind of repair mode, none of the options which work because he complains that the hard drive is locked. Any attempt to start in SafeMode (SHIFT + F8) fails, with mnode security options panel shows ever in service options. • Cannot access admin or safe mode...

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion dv2500 with a screen broken or burned. (My step grandson accidentally shot of the stool on which I got). I hung it on a monitor so that it can still be used and have since bought another.  I put the password on the admin account and created a user account for my husband and one for comments.

The problem is that I forgot the password I created. I tried everything I could think of, and I can't access the admin account. I know that you can access and change of safe mode, but because my screen is not working I can not see the loading screen, press F8 and select Safe mode.  It is attached to the monitor, but the display lights when it is loaded to the user accounts page. I created recovery discs when I got to the laptop, but I was hoping I wouldn't have to do it because I have a ton of family photos on the admin account I want to transfer to my new PC. I tried to access a safe mode then than the guest account, but he asks me admin password.

Is there a way I can access the account admin or safe mode without using the F8 when loading? For any help or suggestion would be appreciated!

    Thank you

    Jen

    Hi Jen,

    PC login now

Once downloaded, use a program such as ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD.  A guide on how to use it is on the link below.

Insert the CD in your laptop you can not connect to and restart to boot from the disc.

I hope that this should simply remove your password altogether, so you can configure then comes a new.

  • Unable to access Safe Mode in Windows 8

I am typing this query using my other computer. Tonight, an installation of the failed pilot, and for some reason, my computer will not start normally in Windows 8. Whenever he tries, it shows me this error message:

    System_Thread_Extension_Not_Handled (AtihdW86.sys)
Now, for some reason, Windows is not recognizing that the computer does not start and doesn't give me access to Safe Mode. I tried brewing F8 and SHIFT + F8 or F11 repeatedly on multiple attempts, and he still insists on trying to start normally. I don't have a recovery drive as it was a downloaded purchase. Using the Windows 7 installation disc, I had, I thought he'd let start me in safemode, but she even doesn't let me do.
In the past, Safe Mode would have been a simple way to restore this computer. But I can't do yet, because I can't even mode without failure. It is a serious problem with Windows 8.

    Hello

The F8 Safe Mode option has been "abandoned" to win 8...

See if you can access the command prompt with your Windows 7 disc using the method to win 8 below... the menu choices can be a little different, that I don't have a Win 7 disk handy to check...

    1) start from the Windows 8 DVD
    2) click Next
    (3) select repair your computer

    (4) select troubleshooting
    (5) select Advanced Options
    (6) select command prompt

    (7) type - Bcdedit/set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu Yes (note the spaces)
    (8) type - out

    (9) restart

    (10) to the start screen, select F8
    (11) to select Safe mode with networking

This can then be turned off when you are finished.

    (1) run by the lower left corner (Admin) command prompt right-click when Start appears.

    (2) type - Bcdedit/set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu not (note the spaces)
    (3) type - out

That someone has suggestions for the system difficulty and that everything remains alive.

I think you need to determine if the problem of access to the SafeMode because that the F8 key does not access safe mode menu or the computer does not start in safe mode.

In the past with a Microsoft Wireless Multimedia keyboard, I met the situation where the function keys had to be activated by pressing the CAPS LOCK key. This was to be done whenever the computer is started. This is done using the F8 key safe mode access impractical because you must press the lock key when the system is unable to receive instructions from keyboard and always press the F8 key until the system has progressed beyond the point where the ability to access the security mode is still available.  You can't do it.

    http://jtsang.MVPs.org/flock.html

The easiest way to access the safe mode becomes to connect using a wired keyboard ps2 if you cannot access the mode without failure of the normal mode. To access the normal mode by selecting Start, run, type msconfig and press ENTER. Choose the Startup tab and let secure boot. Click apply and then click OK and restart the computer. To return to a normal startup, you uncheck the safe boot option.

  • any programs, but google chrome opens. not even windows or antivirus programs. must force the restore windows or safe mode.

the title says most of it. I got a virus which, for some reason usually let me open all windows programs or all programs like antivirus things or anything that would be useful at all, but ideally he always allows me to get on google chrome. Ive been reading around to see what is my problem and I can say that I should be good if I can just force a restore or get my computer in SafeMode somehow, but even that does not work. When I restart my computer, even if I press f8 when it is placed in service or f12 at the logo screen to get restart options, it does nothing. I see a way to solve this problem, unless theres another way to get into safe mode or perhaps force a system restore sort.

    Hello

First of all, it is rare that system restore will fix a virus problem. You should focus on access to safe mode to resolve this problem.

Check if you need to hit a function key lock before the F key working in the mode you want. You can also try this, even if the bug can block: click Start and type msconfig, then the . Click on continue in the UAC prompt. Go to the Startup tab, select the line of safeboot and click apply/ok. It should encourage them to restart and will automatically load safe mode.

Once in safe mode, you will want to run full system scans with your favorite antivirus and antispyware software. You can also use malwarebytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org) as a method to remove bugs.

  • How to start windows 7 in safe mode

    Hello

I'm not sure why I have to restart the inverter in order to access a safe mode on my computer if I am not wrong that all editions of Windows must start in safe mode when F8 is pressed before normal startup, I am unable to do exactly as I could in Windows 98, 98SE & XP Pro in Windows 7 Ultimate , you can ask to I connect external devices Yes but I remove them before you try any Safe Mode an assembled computer I don't brand solutions Pleasde help me

    Thank you

When you start in safe mode the system does not load the drivers installed. It is often used when you have a problem and seek to establish the cause. There are many variations allowing the user to select some services and some do not. If you select SafeMode your antivirus software does not load and you don't have an internet connection. If you want an internet connection in safe mode you select Safe mode with network.

Your friend can just say that you need not safe mode. Most of the time it's true, but there are times when you do not need it. You can get situations where the computer does not start in normal mode but will start in safe mode. In this situation, safe mode provides access to tools such as Event Viewer system and your system information file that allows you to search for the clues to the nature of the problem that prevents the computer from starting in normal mode.

  • mode off safe mode on Windows 7.

    Split from: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-security/how-to-disable-safe-mode-booting-in-windows-7/6fbe891f-70b4-4a75-900f-e802a3d74012

Is there a sure way to turn off the mode without boot failure in windows 7? My kids tried to use it to install programs without my permission. I have to find a way to turn it off. I know that this means that I will not have access to safe mode when I need, but I'm fine with that. The worst cases are re - install the entire operating system, and I have periodic return on the system, so I'm going to re - install OS when necessary.

Internet research is inconclusive. Some say it's impossible. Some evoke a commercial which some said work tool while others say does not.

Of course, all accounts on my PC have password.

A point in that way that I'm not too sure will work for sure:
"Administrator" account and activate the password on it, so when it goes into safe mode, it always need password.

I already did, and 'Administrator' account now requires a password in safe boot mode. It's a sure way to impose security on safe mode? Or are there still ways to circumvent security in safe mode?

    Authoritative answer?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Saleta,

Sorry for the late reply. From your problem description, I understand you have safe mode in your computer. Safe mode is a Windows utility that allows you to use your computer outside of your regular Windows session. Using this option is convenient to edit or remove entries of system or software malfunction, that is usually done when troubleshooting your computer. Your administrative privileges using existing, you can disable a Windows password using the Windows Safe Mode.
