Accounts - 'Normal '.

Hi all

Program: User accounts

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium.

Question: When I try to create a new user account where the options displayed for me are 1. Standard user 2. Administrator. But I wanted to create a Normal user, please help understand what the process is for the account type "normal user" activated to select the same on the creation of a new user account.

Contacted Dell (seller of my laptop) & Microsoft Tech Support, none of them were help full. Please waiting for you answers...!

Sudhir Hervé.

What you call 'normal' account is a standard account in the terminology of Vista.
Here is a short clip from the window where you will be asked what type of account you want to create:
Why use a standard account instead of an administrator account?

The standard account can help protect your computer by preventing users from making changes that affect everyone who uses the computer. We recommend that you create a standard account for each user.

When you are connected to Windows with a standard account, you can do something that you can do with an account administrator, but if you want to do something that affects other users of the computer, such as installing software or changing security settings, Windows may ask you to provide a password for an administrator account.
... end of the excerpt.

So, as long as the person using the standard account does not know your administrator password, that person can make changes or do damage to your system.

That answer your question?

  • I can't access my account normally in Vista Home Premium: no job, no icons, no start button bar

This problem started about 2 days ago. I turn on the computer and it starts normally. Then, when I put my password to login my account all I'm getting is the dialog box on a black screen asking if I want to start Vista now or more later. In addition, there are also a message in the corner at the bottom right of the screen saying that it is not a genuine copy of Vista. There is no taskbar, no icons, no start button. So far I tried to start safe mode and it identify you with icons, button bar and try to start but the background is always black without wallpaper. I tried restoring the system and don't have a virus scan with Live One Care, but these did not work.  Sometimes if I leave it alone and come back later the missing items are returned on their own, but the wallpaper is not yet there. In fact, while I was typing this question jumped in the back things. What else can I try?

    Hello

If Windows has not been activated, the black screen is a normal behavior of Microsoft.  See André solution in this thread for Windows 7.

  • User account control problems

MY ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT HAS BEEN DELETED SOMEHOW. WHEN ANOTHER ACCOUNT IS OPEN AND WE ARE TRYING TO REMOVE A PROGRAM OR START SYSTEM RESTORE THE USER ACCOUNT CONTROL BOX NOW COMES UP TO ASK PERMISSION TO CONTINUE. WE CANNOT ENTER ANY PASSWORD. USER ACCOUNT CONTROL IS TURN OFF MY COMPUTER. HELP PLEASE!

The first thing to try is go to Safe Mode to see if the disabled built-in Administrator account normally is now available. Enter Safe Mode by repeatedly pressing the F8 key as the computer starts. This will put you in the right menu. Use your arrow key to select Safe mode, and then press the Enter key. If you see an icon for the administrator on the Welcome screen, log into this account and make your changes. Follow the recommendations for setting up the accounts of user below.

If you do not see an icon for the administrator mode without failure, post back for further instructions.

General recommendations for creating users in Vista:

You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all the other modern operating systems, Vista is an OS multi-user with system built-in accounts such as administrator, by default, all users and guest. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.

In particular, you do not want one account user with administrative privileges on Vista because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult. It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but it will take third-party tools and work outside the operating system.

The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. After you have created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.

If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this:

Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

  • Is impossible to turn on the guest account. Cannot create new user account. "The service user profile Service has no logon. User profile cannot be loaded. »

Is impossible to turn on the guest account.  Cannot create new user account.  After to try one of those and reboot, the icons of account appear, but when you try to use, the following instructions of error present when you try to log in with the new account or comments: "the user profile Service service has no logon.  User profile cannot be loaded. "I looked at the answers to all the previous ones (including the KB947215) and no not to address specifically.  For the most part, they seem to assume that there is a guest or a new profile in the first place...

The system is Win 7 Pro 64-bit with all available updates.  I can't say when the last time that the guest account has worked (rarely used) and just found out I can't do new additional user, accounts trying to solve the problem of account of comments... so I have not tried to enter Safe Mode and do a system restore , because I can't yet identify a useful restore point...

There are no entries in the registry for a guest or a new standard user account.  The registry entries for the three accounts normal-quickly (2 x admin, 1 x level) seem to be appropriate.  Watch register computer/HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

    S-1-5-18 = system profile

    19 = local service,

    20 = network service,

    21 long numbers + 1004 plus User1 (admin),

    22 long + 1005 plus 2 user (admin),

    23 plus long + 1006 is user3 (standard,

and no comments or additional profiles appear.

    C:\Users includes

    All users,

    User1,

    User3,

    By default,.

Default user (which is inaccessible for me, even as an administrator),

    Public,

    User2,

No guest or additional profile appear.

All except the default user (I can't open) seem to have the appropriate, NTUser.DAT files although I don't know how to check for corruption.  Having both a default value

and a default user folder seems hokey.

I think I understand instructions how to fix or remove a corrupted profile, but that does not apply to the guest account or profiles that do not exist.

This message contains the strange solution.

[Plan B - I found one thread where one user said that the same symptoms of the problem that you experience this problem solved]

    - - - - - - - - - - -

Plan h - while another user said that it was caused by a file Windows Live problem

This is the thread I can not create a new user account (Windows 7): the user profile service service doesn't have the logon

You find it difficult to follow the thread as it's long and reported problem by different people to confuse it and there is also a bit of bickering [long filaments often end up being quite incomprehensible].

..., See references to the event viewer in the middle of page 4 and Windows Live we [at the bottom of page 2 more on page 3].

I see not the logic of the any of those things, but if one of them do things long enough that you are trying to create new accounts that works, you will know how in the future until a proper solution is found.

This is the useful part where this user has tested the solutions proposed in this thread linked above: -.

This has proved to contain leads to a difficulty.  Have to admit, when I read everything the first time, several days, I did indeed find it confusing and even the parts that I "heard" (sorta) does not appear to be related to my symptoms.

It turns out that the answer of JDMICHAL May 17, 2011 contained this:

    (1) C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows open live
    (2) this directory has two subdirectories with a single file of each. Go into each directory and apply the following:
    (a) make a right click on the file, open the properties.
    (b) click the Security tab.
    (c) it will issue a message: "to continue, you must be an administrative user with permission to view this object's security properties. Would continue you? ». Click on the button continue.
    (d) click on the Add button...
    (e) ' everyone' type in the box at the bottom of the dialog box. Click on "check names"; It should be emphasized the "everyone". Click OK.
    (f) ensure that the new "Everyone" entry "read" and "read & run" check under the column "allow".

After doing this for two files, attempt to connect to the account. He must undergo.

The procedure (bascially) worked... Although the different answers on my system differed slightly along the way (perhaps due to the slightly different versions of Win 7?, because I was already logged in as an administrator?).

In any case, "Everyone" with the read and read/execute permissions adding to these two files seems to have done the trick:

    C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\Bici1_00.sqm

    and

    C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\SqmApi\SqmData720896_00.sqm

Thank you for leading me to this!

  • Change password on a user account

I am the administrator on my laptop.  I created a user account normal for her husband.  He forgot his password.  I can't figure out how to change his password.

Sure.  The race box is a great way to jump into clicking 50 screens to get to the place you want. For example, you can run ": start-up of the shell" to open your startup directly folder instead of clicking through these folders: drive C, then users, then your name, then AppData, then roaming, then Microsoft, then Windows, then Start Menu, then programs, and finally start.

Here is another command that you might like: LUSRMGR (local User Manager).  This could let you force - reset his password.  However, it seems that it connected online, then you will probably need to use this Web site link.

If you want or need, you can open files from the folder C:\Users. All records will be in a folder with his account name (mine is c:\users\skeene).

  • Firefox reports an error of TLS for a website that I trust, but provides no way to override the error message.

For a few months (end of 2015) Firefox returned an error of "secure connection failed" when I try to access my account at a major insurance. The site worked fine in Firefox for years and works very well with Microsoft Edge, but I prefer to use Firefox. The link "more info" in the error message indicates that the message the site uses outdated TLS security and I have to contact the owners to tell them to update. I've tried and failed; Blue Cross makes it even more difficult to "contact us" that Mozilla does.

Why is there no no "I trust this site - go anyway" option? I'm experienced enough to make my own decisions of safety.

Thank you! The security.tls.version.max had been "user set" with a value of 1, and I have reset as you indicated. The value is now 3 and I could access my Blue Cross account normally.

I guess that dates this problem when I got my new computer and did a new install of Firefox to August 10. The TLS parameter is perhaps one provided with the download.

BTW, I noticed BitDefender in the news of the page also. The error page didn't identify its source; 'other info' led to support from Mozilla, but I was wondering if my antivirus was the culprit. Apparently, this is the setting in place of security of Firefox.

    Problem solved, thank you, jscher2000!

  • more than one profile under documents and settings administrator

Under Documents and Settings, there are several 'profiles administrator ";  Administrator, Administrator.COMPUTER, Administrator.COMPUTER.000, Administrator.COMPUTER.001, etc. 002, 003.

Can all but removed the 'administrator' basis or all files within other profiles must be copied to the basic?

The profile currently in use is the one that you will not be able to delete the user profile settings screen when logged in as a user.
Another way to determine is to log on as administrator and create a single named file on your desktop.  Then search in different "Documents and records for the Administrator.xxx Settings/Administrator.xxx/Desktop that contains the file that you created on the desktop.  This will be the current profile.  If you do not use the administrator account, normally while there may be no file user useful to save the other profiles.

  • Programs suddenly does not open!

I have Vista 64 on a Pavilion laptop. I'm at work and I don't remember the number of the product, but I'll put up later.

I wasn't too sure if it's in the legal issues section, if not can someone please point me in the right direction? Anyway.

Laptop starts normally, it seems to connect to my account normally too. However, many programs wrong, including things like

    • All Microsoft Office programs (so I can't make it work)
    • Any Antivirus
    • Multimedia players
    • Internet browsers
    • Just about everything

Curiously some programs open, especially those that came with the operating system as

    • Calculator
    • Paint
    • Notebook
    • Various programs from 'Windows' like, Movie Maker, Photo Gallery etc.
    • System Restore and other system tools
    • Control Panel stuff
    • Also Comodo firewall still works

I can also browse through my thin computer, look in My Documents etc, but I can't just DO it from there. I can also connect to my home wireless network, but just cannot be used because the browser does not open.

Here is some information that might be pertinent.

It has happened three times now, after 3 weeks, then 2 weeks before that and about 1 month before that.

Whenever I was too busy to spend time to understand, so I formatted just because I can't afford to leave my laptop off

Using the system restore has worked the 2nd time, but also caused Firefox Act up, so I formatted in any case

The other three times he didn't solve the problem, so it's not a Windows Update or the new program?

In Safe mode, the programs WORK, but nothing increase analysis antivirus (Avira, Comodo, AVG, Avast, I do not run them at the same time I have them right)

It always happens after that I restarted my computer. I reboot only every week or so. Its works fine, I restart and then nothing works.

While the opening of programs to see who would work I got a blue screen after opening Notepad, something MEMORY_MANAGEMENT

I don't know if this is related, but for the last month or so a certain IP using various ports trying to get connection with my laptop. I have the reject, but he made several attempts per day. He may have been doing this for more than a month, but I have him possibly accidentally allowed too before. Also after formatting on 35-40 GB my drive hard 250gig is mysteriously occupied (i.e. all files on C: add up to 40 GB less than what my computer c: a space for). Someone somehow destroyed my computer?

You have been violated.  Prevent your ISP and follow their instructions.  If you have the time and the IP addresses of the intruder, the ISP might be interested.  I recommend a wipe and load.  If you have a router, reset it and change the admin password.  Access admin external locking.  Wireless should be a WPA2 encryption and access through the pool of MAC.

Once you wipe and reload your system you should really use a firewall stronger.  It should also have IDS (Intrusion Detection System) and if all goes well and evidence system log.

You say that: "as Comodo firewall still work" I would rethink.  If it worked you would not have been infringed.

I don't think it need a contract for blackberry? Would appreciate your opinion because I am close to trampling on the cursed thing.

No, in fact, means that that was what I told you. Its nothing to do with the BT - I have the same Hub.

I gave you the reason why you need a data plan. I don't make the rules, I'm just a humble user like the rest of the guys here.

The best course of action would be to swap it for a phone as your husband. With a data plan, emails to any number of email accounts, you are pushed automatically to the BB, no connection to check on these things and this has been the Foundation and basis of RIM technology. If you do not use the main feature of the BB, nobody's forcing you.

No doubt O2 will have a plan; I checked on Orange a few weeks there are a lot of minutes, texts and data usage of 500 MB £9.85 per month including a free 8520.

I use my Wi - Fi all the time, so my data usage is negligible - 2.6 MB in March. It will probably cost you less to have all the features on the BB, but to stay with your current plan on a different device. Before you throw away, have a Word with O2, you might be surprised.
