Acer Aspire 5742G Graphics.

A little more than a year, I bought an Acer Aspire 5742 G. It has been working well for a long time, but for a while now, I noticed that the graphics card is not as well as I thought I would follow. As in World of Warcraft. When I started playing this game on this laptop, I could quite keen on it. Now it's failure to stay on the bottom for some reason any.

I also recently installed 8BG of RAM in it but notice little difference in anything. He has been doing worse and worse lately, difficulties in the current run even simple games like Torchlight II when there's a happening a lot. I have good cooling on it now with a cooling pad Cooler Master with a 200MM fan blowing cold air right on the most popular heating parts, namely the CPU.

I don't think that this little problem can be fixed simply formatting the PC and re - install Windows? In addition, I have the right drivers for the graphics card and the value of the Nvidia card as the default and twisted performance up to its climax, but he refuses to work as I want it. The Anti-Aliasing everything stops because I was told he then gives a greater performance. I am wrong?

Is it possible to set the Nvidia card as the graphics card as default and keep the disable card Intel?

If you have the correct drivers installed and are not getting the performance that you used for the system, I would recommend to reload the operating system, because there may be software running on the system that is performing the system performance. To switch to the NVIDIA card for these applications, you can try the instructions at http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/11575.

  • Can I change the processor and graphics card on my acer aspire?

    Hello

    recently I went in game

And I really want to be able to play at HQ

So my question is: can I put a new processor and video card

In my acer aspire witouth problems?

Doesn't look like as you can change the processor. Limits to the motherboard. But there is no onboard video. If you get a low profile graphics card and added it to the computer, it could work. But because the computer is an older computer, you will not be able to put in the last and best. I would like to talk to a local technician to see what is available in your area for this computer.

  • Acer Aspire HD E1 graphics driver - 571-4000

Hello, I tried to update the HD Graphics 4000 driver in my Acer Aspire E1-571 and I'm able to get the latest version of the driver works very well from the Acer support page. However, this driver is almost 3 and a half years now or dates from 2012 with the fact that every time I encounter a problem with a modern game support always telling me to update my drivers. The latest driver from Intel page is perhaps not more than two months. I am aware that the driver must come from the OEM for him to be recognized, but decided to opt for a workaround see if I could update it in any case.

I tried the advice from the support page from Intel to uninstall the driver from Acer and do a fresh reinstall with the latest Intel driver instead, but it does not work. It seems that it only allows for Installer try to install it but fails halfway through, as supposed is not at all tell me to go to my OEM. It seems that Acer genuneily uses the custome for its driver software and if the latest driver must be provided.

I'm I missed something here, this is really the last version supplied by Acer and would it be possible for Acer to release a newer version. I also checked with people who use an HD Graphics 4000 and they do not seem to meet the same problems I did when using DX11. Which none use Acer laptops.

My characteristics are i5 - 3210 M 2.5 GHz with Turbo boost of 3.1 GHz technology

    8 GB RAM DDR3

Version number of Intel Graphics HD 4000 9.17.10.2867

I finally found the solution, you had reason to propose a system reset but that only highlighted the real problem. It was a combination of issues, hive corrupted corrupted windows installer and interference from program files. I recommend to anyone who tries this correction to create a Windows easy transfer file and backup register and license keys.

First of all, I tried to do a refresh of the system and then install the driver, even though I've updated first he failed and blue screened after the installation of the driver as he had not the necessary DirectX update. Which implies that updates has not really saved. I opened a restore point to back up the system and he projected blue perma then. The system repair tool is not actually grant me access to the restore point to try again. To work around this problem, I opened the disk part via the command prompt in the advanced and then forced Startup Repair tool permissions. To do this, I typed first 'Diskpart', then 'list volume', then select the disk D and C drive by their volume number. For my part D training was 0 and C disk 1, then withdraw their letters and assign again so that the primary drive is drive C (even if it does not change letters volume the end of it, it will always be you grants the permissions you need). This love so much "select volume 0", "Remove letter = d','select volume 1','Remove letter = c','select volume 1','affect letter = c',"select volume 0", " affect letter = d'. "" "" Then type 'exit' and 'rstrui.exe'. Perform the restore from here point and you should be able to continue the restore point.

With myself however, the restore point has been so severely altered it could not load up, worse yet, I was not able to make an another refresh or reset. I discovered that this was due to corrupt hive files, I renamed to solve this problem through the command-line as follows, ""C: ', 'cd %windir%\system32\config', "ren system system.001", "ren software software.001', 'exit'." This then allowed me to perform a system reset.

The first thing I tried to do was last updated in the system and even once, it has failed, it is constantly necessary to restart and wouldn't install anything. After you perform a clean boot, I realized that it was interference program McAfee and after he could not afford to be disabled I uninstalled it completely (I might have updated to see if he would settle the matter, but at this point, I was losing patience). Procceded updates until the end of the first batch. After that, the update has been stuck in a loop of always trying to find updates but never finished. It was because corrupt windows files from the installer, to solve this problem, I restarted the machine to make sure that the update has been closed and I opened as an admin command prompt so I could rename them and force the system to make new files by typing the following. "net stop wuauserv", "net stop cryptsvc", "net stop bits. Then type "ren SoftwareDistribution.old C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution", "ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old. Then type 'net start wuauserv', 'net start cryptsvc', 'net start bits' reactivate the update and then restart the computer. The update then worked fine until he hit Security Windows KB2756872 solve this I used a manual installation.

Available to the Update for Windows 8 for x 64 systems (KB2756872) - Microsoft and then select Windows8-RT-KB2756872-x 64.msu (162.8 MB).

After this all updates completed fine, I created my restore points (and a backup just in case restore point) and continued to install the driver manually. It worked the first time after having solved the problems. I use Windows easy transfer to restore all the files and after I re - install my programs, I'll be as good news.

  • Activate the integrated graphics controller (Acer Aspire M3970)

    Hi all

I hope someone is able to tell me if it is possible to activate the graphics controller embedded on the Acer Aspire M3970.
When I bought the pc, there was already an external graphics card in one of the slots. It contains only a HDMI and a DVI port, and the integrated graphics card has the possibility to use a HDMI and VGA port.
I was wondering if it is possible to use both the external graphics card and the integrated graphic card so I can use 2 HDMI ports, the VGA port and DVI port.

I know that most of the BIOS have an option to choose between what graphics card to use, but I can't seem to find it.
I thought I'd find in: BIOS > ADVANCED > Integrated Peripherals, but I don't have options:

    Hi poepsmurf2

As far as I know, you cannot use the graphics card and the edge together. You can buy a card with 2 HDMI or VGA and DVI ports.

    I hope this helps!

Available on the system expansion slots are:

  • Acer Aspire 3830TG-6494 blocks everything at stake, using either built-in or nVidia Graphics

Acer Aspire 3830TG-6494 blocks everything at stake.

    Symptoms of the accident:

-happens anywhere out in the first 15 minutes to several hours in a game (no link with the graphic quality settings). Any loss of performance leading up to the accident.

-seeds and black, with a brief gurgling noise goes from the screen. Fan and power remains lit always works, forcing a hard reset.

-Occasionally, the screen freezes, lines horizontal green of ~ 1 cm will appear everywhere and a humming noise is output from the speakers up to a hard reset.

-Rarely, I get a BSOD, or the computer will shut down and restart itself. DMP files obtained do show no consistent presumed cause.

-Crash will be preceded by sometimes some sounds in the game by cutting. But not always.

-The only link between accidents, is that I think usually a solution worked just before the accident. (Frustrating!)

-System crash occasionally in watching videos or something, but only accidents constantly all game.

    I tried the following:

-Games running using only the built-in graphics card or nVidia GeForce GT 540 M GPU.

-Underclocking is the GPU (500 MHz and 700 MHz, 672 MHz and 900 MHz) CPU (70% of the power max seting plan) and both at the same time.

-The temperatures do not exceed 70 c under heavy use, and crash does not appear to be related to increases in temperature.

-Run the memory diagnostic Windows 7 and memtest86 (no problem found)

-Execution of diagnostic CPU intel and intel UERX reference that has not caused an accident.

-Updated all drivers for the latest versions, as well as make them back to the versions recommended on the acer website to download. (Completely uninstalled the graphics drivers before reinstalling different versions) And ensuring that windows update not installing driver updates automatically.

-the upgrade of BIOS for v1.12, has been stable for a weekend, he returned to crashing.

-The system seems to be more stable in sleep or in balance mode, but not a lot. I also knew the power adapter because it seems not crashing on the battery for a short period. But I was wrong, and he eventually crashing if hooked up or not.

Oh and try cleaning w / air, obviously

I don't play often and used to play older games on the lower quality settings. I'm not overclocking or streaming at the same time.

    Help, please

It looks like the modules of RAM that came with the laptop were somewhat incompatible with each other in dual channel mode. Comes with a 2 GB and a 4 GB, same frequency but different bar.

MemtestX86 or windows memory diagnostic found a problem with a stick.

Computer is completely stable when running with only the 4 GB stick, even under heavy use. Have since replaced by a kit 2x4gb without any problem.

Wish that I had looked at the problem, while the laptop was still under warranty, instead of assuming that it was overheating.

In fact, you have 2 sticks of memory 667 MHz. In dual channel, it means to 1333 MHz.

    Specifications of aspire V3 - 571 G-9686:

    Chipset: Mobile Intel HM77 Express.

    Processor: Intel Core i7-3632QM

Integrated graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M - 2 GB RAM DDR3

You can upgrade up to 8 GB (2x4gb) and Max frequency 1600 MHz. For example: If you install a single stick of 4 GB - 1600 MHz, it is single-channel: 1600/2 = 800 MHz.

The problem is with the 3d games as performance is not very good at all.

    My framerate is around 20-50.

My laptop has only a Memorystick (8GB), thus, it runs on a single channel.

I was wondering, if it is possible for me to upgade to 16GB (8 GB X 2) dual channel?

If Yes, will gain more framerate? and what stick/types of memory will be useful to my laptop?

Can I buy memory somewhere on the internet and add it to my laptop by myself without void my warranty?

  • Acer Aspire T3-710 upgraded gpu

    Hi all

I recently bought the computer desktop Acer Aspire T3 - 710 (form below), however, I need to update the graphics card and it seems that there is enough space to fit this card Nvidia GTX 750 ti. The current map graphic is a Nvidia gtx 745 (OEM) (Plug here). This current card is a single location that I want is double slot (there are 4 unique locations on the back plate) it seems pretty great, but I'm not sure.

Anyone has any advice on the upgrade of this card? Or better yet the GPU, which fit the T3-710? My current diet is only 220w so I know I need to upgrade it too, but I don't want to until I have a graphics card I know will fit.

    My current desktop features;

    10 64-bit Windows Home

    Intel Core i7 @ 3.40 GHz Skylake 14nm 6700

    16 GB of Dual-Channel DDR3 RAM

Card mother Acer Aspire T3-710 (U3E1)

4 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745

3 TB drive HARD 5400 RPM

    220w PSU

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi neewu

I also recently bought this pc and immediately updated to a unit of evga 600w power supply to install a decent gpu. As it is the best gpu you could go with this prebuilt is a 750ti. The issue is not only with the PSU, but the length of the card itself. There is only 1 PCI slot on the motherboard and there are connections of power directly behind the video card apparently preventing one more card of 6.5 inches or more should be installed. From what I understand, it would be useful to upgrade the power supply that I have and go for a GTX 960 mini or mini 970. If someone has updated the gpu on this pc that I would also be interested to know what suits. I ordered a mini 970 and will display the results when it arrives
