Acer AX1935-UR20P four beeps

Hi all.

My Acer has started to freeze from time to time. I have to hard reboot and when I do I get the usual beep, but she is then followed shortly after by four beeps. He then stops the CPU but the fan continues to run. I then reboot again and it will generally start and run OK for a while (sometimes it didn't the four beeps again and I have to repeat the cycle).

This is not entirely consistent, but I noticed that it happens more often once the computer has sit in mode 'sleep' for a while. It freezes about 10-20 minutes after waking up and the cycle begins. If the computer is in continuous use, often much less.

Thanks in advance.

Hello TarlsQtr,

I did a check of the memory (in fact twice) and the machine froze on the same bank of RAM. He did not read all the mistakes, but could this be indicative of a problem with it?

Yes, this module of memory is faulty.

I also pulled a bank or a RAM, boot the machine and it seems to work very well. Before this morning, the issue became much worse. It would give me the beeps of death several times or if I may he begin, freeze within five minutes. Yet once, this seems to indicate that the RAM is the correct question?

If you removed the memory defective module even, Yes.

Finally, is roughly interchangeable RAM as long as I make sure I get 4GB (my system has 4 X 2 = 8 GB total) DDR3?

If you want to replace it, you will find a string under the code of the thumbnail bar. The top ten is the part number. Here are the original parts:

    Hi people,
    A friend gave me a laptop to try and fix. It's a Toshiba Satellite 3000 - X 11.
Sometimes, it works very well. Starts as usual.
Sometimes, quite randomly, it will not start. In this case nothing will come on the screen at startup. The fan will kick in. The screen is black and there are four beeps. About 1 per second. It is then. On, but half-dead. You can hear no time to other fan.
I read the posts on the net who suggest that this is a hardware failure any. I want to know is if there is an easy way to know what hardware has failed. Almost all of the messages I read talked about three beeps. That's four.

Does no diff if I run it from ca or the battery.

I don't know what actually started working again.

I suspect (just a hint) that it tends to stop working after it has been moved (picked up and moved to another office etc.).

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Also, is there a Toshiba diagnostic tool I can download and run that will test the machine on?

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

If the machine is behaving really as you described then the machine has a serious malfunction. I had the same machine, a few years ago
    the same problem.
So I brought my machine to a service partner and they exchanged a few "PCB´s" as they said.
These PCB´s are, for example, the motherboard or graphics card.

If the machine you have is under warranty, you won´t have chances yourself due to defective components.

    Welcome them

  • A random series of four beeps: Pavilion dv6-6c40ca: windows 7

Hi, my pavilion dv6 keeps giving me a steep and very boring series of four beeps. When it happens it seems to occur at regular intervals of 2 minutes or more, I've not exactly been timing but this is what it feels like. It usually occurs when I'm listening to music. I'm pretty sure that's because my computer is not getting enough fresh air, it doesn't normally happen when my laptop USB cooler is attached and lifting the laptop a little of my desk seems to stop when it happens. I would really just to disable the feature altogether because I don't want to carry my cooler to the class, nor do I have room in my bag for her, and type while my laptop is stalled at the top on my calculator is awkward and inconvenient. Any ideas?

Also, I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, I wasn't sure if I should put it in audio or OS and software or what. pls no flames

I thought about it, it was just the instant message widget on my site of duties of colleges, someone sent me a message and he constantly warned me to it while I was on. Wow I feel like a fool lol.

  • Pavilion 23-q070se: long three and four beeps when I turned on my pc

As the subject says, my PC (Pavilion all-in-one 23-q070se, with 10 Win Home updated) three long beep and four short and repeated this model for some time (maybe 5 times), when I turned it on. But after that, he has worked - at least I didn't say anything bad. Usually, my pc is in "sleep" in slow motion. I don't know where this problem began; I don't know he was there during the two months, the other day in January, when I rebooted my pc and found this problem, until today.

I tried to fix it myself, but I couldn't find the beep code. Please help me with this problem. Thank you very much!

Based on the title that you have posted. It seems that the 3 long beeps followed of four short beeps is related to an error with your graphics card. Check your graphics card and make sure that it updated. Find your graphics driver in hp Web site to avoid any trouble.

I have an old laptop R50e of 3.5 year are no longer under warranty.

When I boot it battery or power, I get four regularly spaced beeps and nothing else. The screen is blank and the fan is running. This happened this morning. I had used last yesterday evening and gracefully close.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    zekela, welcome to the forum,

According to the hardware maintenance manual for your R50e, (pdf p.74), four short beeps and an average of the white screen that your motherboard is dead. You find all error descriptions in the manual.

  • Xw4400: I replaced the power supply in my xw4400, always beep

    Hello

My power supply died a week ago.  I know because she gave me a code 4 sound.  I followed the troubleshooting instructions, and when it is connected with all the cables disconnected, the fan does not turn.  Thus confirmed dead.

I got the new power supply today, and I plugged it in with no cable attached.  The fan spun.  Power has confirmed the good.

However, when I put back in place and turned on, I got the code of four beeps again.  Does this mean that my motherboard is fried?  And if so, where the Board of Directors is the id so I can order another?  I have the dual core intel cpu if that helps at all.  Not the extreme, just the duo.

Thanks in advance for your help.

After I plugged in a monitor, I doscovered that the computer was in the way of the message and then affected by the thermal shutdown.  Replacement of the entire radiator and fan made me a work computer.

The problem was a bad video card.  For some reason, nor Council picked up the problem.

Most of the time, the screen remains black and the laptop emits four beeps of the four sounds.
I can try and try again nothing happens, until he starts?

It is very annoying, anyone experienced this same pb?
Anyone know how to fix this?

    Thanks for your help

    Kind regards

It seems that the laptop may not successfully complete the POST (power on self test). The laptop will beep because there is a material error, and some device has not passed the test.
You can try to disconnect all the external devices and then try to start the laptop.
But I put t see much chance that this will help solve the problem

For most in such cases, external assistance is necessary. The technician with a lot more experience as a common user like me and you should check the laptop. I hope that there is no malfunction of the motherboard as this could be a bit expensive :(

Four "beeps", could indicate a memory problem, if you are comfortable working inside the computer, try to open the case, remove and reinstall all memory modules and see if that makes a difference.

If you not comfortable working with the removal and the reinstallation of the components, then I suggest that you take the Inspiron 530 to a repairman.

Is the power button LED, blue constant or flashing blue?

Every change made to the 530 recently?

You can disable it in the bios. F1 at the start screen, alarm, config, control, disable beep.  You can also disable the low battery alarm if you want from there.

  • Fan control with 5750G and other machines problems

Lets start with stating that the 5750 G (and other models with same design cases) has lots of GPU and overheating problems:

As well as the mysterious GPU problems:

This problem is happing on computers between 12 and 20 old frames. Although the user

    • Using a fresh install of windows.
    • Uses the latest GPU driver.
    • Use the BIOS more recent (1.21 for my 5750G).
    • A cleaned the dust from heatsink and fan.

So that's the problem! Thermal and non-functioning fan control past!

    So it goes like this:

End of one your PC starts to slow down: This is because the heat past at low price, acer puts on their laptop begins to degrade. This means that even if the fan trying to cool the CPU and the GPU. The heat generated by the CPU and the GPU may be transferred on the radiator. Thus the CPU and the GPU lower their performance so that the computer does not so hot that it cannot work. And damage the CPU and the GPU.

After a bit more time the PC begins to close when you use more intense programs / games:
This is because that which has degraded the heat past so that the computer becomes so hot than its cutting himself to avoid damaging himself.

So what's the problem?: I mean that acer can not simply replace past heat each contact? So what can they DO?

Here's what Acer should do: Do a BIOS 1.22 WITH CUSTOM FAN CONTROL!
It would be easy! While the main problem is the thermal past. There is another problem:

Fan will not go 100%: when my 5750 hits 95 degrees Celsius. It is still running the fan speed of ~ 60-70%!
When it hit 103 degrees Celsius. Just 2 degrees, far from extinguished to prevent critical damage. She is STILL going to ~ 60-70%! Acer... I know that the fan can be turned to a higher speed. Because when I turn on my 5750G after he himself has just cut off due to overheating. He rotates extremely fast fan! But just for a few seconds. Then he goes back to the being to slow to cool enough.

Acer... Why not do that? ! : Come on Acer! Do it! Make a new BIOS, I would be happy. And I know that Acer is not a * beep * ty company. But actually listens to their customers! If your worried that some people would go in the BIOS and the fan settings so that they broke the laptop. Then just have a big WARNING: "Guarantee will be woid entering this option" or a "to activate this option go to Acer.com/XXXX and type the code. Follow-up of the caveat "the guarantee will be void.

Please Acer. Give people who know what they make of the option to do so!

Im going to this ends with a quote from another post on your forum:

«I look a little, but have not found anything to give a bit more power the fan...»
Acer could not just add a few adjustments of fan to the bios?

    Hello

Today I can finally post what you are waiting for. The fan controller tool was developed in a public place.
Anyone who decides to install this tool, please take note once more:

    • Acer does not support this tool on systems from laptops Aspire 5750 G / 5755G.

    • Acer does not support this tool on Acer OEM Software (your laptop comes with Windows 7 installation).

    • Users with other portable model should not use this tool. This will be entirely at your own risk.

    • Other OS can run this tool, but Acer does not test or review it. Acer is not responsible for any bad consequences when using the tool in that mentioned other environments.

Official statements made, here are the goodies. Be sure to download the PDF file as well, if you want to check the installation process:
    FTP://ftp2.Acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_5750G/fan/FanController_V1.0.0.3.zip
    FTP://ftp2.Acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_5750G/fan/SOP_AS5750G_Fan_Control_Utility.PDF

Feel free to have a discussion open after this post on the results. I tell you what I'll be less frequent in this topic, though.

Anyone who still has problems when running this tool is advised to contact Acer support and get their laptop repaired.

We thank all for your patience, hope that this helps out you.

You can reinstall using the recovery disks from your manufacturer - contact with them to see if they stock.

You can reinstall your system using a disk of Windows XP Home Edition OEM System Builder and your COA key.

If you can find a disc XP Home SP3 of any type (or a wake) you can install that using the default key (do not enter a product key when asked), proceed with the installation, and then use the product key update tool to change the key for that which concerns your COA sticker.  http://www.Microsoft.com/genuine/selfhelp/PKUInstructions.aspx

  • beepd elite 8200e upright

I've just set up a new desktop HP Compaq 8200 Elite Small Form Factor computer. If I boot the PC in a vertical position, I get a series of four beeps and the PC does not start. If I put myself in a horizontal position, it starts very well. If I then go back to the vertical position it works ok.

Hi Paul, thanks for your post - sorry to answer so late - just forgot.

I solved this by turning my PC the other way is to say with the slots at the top. I also supported the video connector / cable more firmly to keep it from the card (its quite a heavy connector).

Now work for more than two weeks - no problem.

I think it must be the weight of the video connectors 'pull' the connectors from the card to the slot for card or something like that.

    Thanks anyway

  • Z400: four short beeps

Recently, I moved from xw4400 (second hand) Z400. The transfer was relatively easy: I moved from SSD from the old to the new computer and made a few adjustions. Everything is fine, except:

    1. after closing down (and usually before logon) a four short beeps is the herd. Computer passed all the test of the utility of diagnosis (downloaded from HP). I made two changes to the system: Add a card WiFi PCI fan fore (directly connected to the transformer unit, not MB) (not working as before - usually need to press Connect)

    2. at the time of startup, before the login screen, there is a wait of 5 to 10 seconds (black screen with a cursor in the upper left; a very short message 'Attempt to start hard drive', and then connect you). Interestingly, I tried a completely clean installation of Win 7 Pro, but a black screen remains.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

    Gojko,

    1. the Z400 sometimes will give a 4 beeps if the system is shut down, and if the power cord is pulled (or AC power supply is cut off by a switch on a power strip), then the power button is pressed a few seconds after turning off the power (with power still disconnected).  What is happening, the system will try to power upward after pressing the power button, use the small residual charge in the system.  There is not enough power for the system to start to give of false beeps "power."

However, these beeps to the power down don't cause the system failure and do not prevent the system startup when the power supply is reconnected.  It looks like a failure, but it is not.
Just to be sure, you do run on 120 or 240 VAC?
The system has never failed to turn on when the system is plugged into a power outlet?

    2. a few start-up systems after a wait of 5 second or 10 with the cursor in the corner.  I don't know why this happens, but it is normal that on many systems.

You said you took records previous and other elements of the xw4400.  You reinstall the operating system?  You update the drivers?  I recommend that you install the latest driver for chipset Z400 and other drivers, if you have not already done so.
