Acer eRecovery Media problem

Well, the story is a long about how I arrived at this crossroads, but... I'll try and keep things simple? First off I was struck by a virus to package a hacker has fallen for my pleasure on a social game one night. He has hammered my HARD drive in a State of porridge, and I couldn't ride of it prior to my drive HARD to shake apart. I had another machine Acer I stopped using Windows xp Home on it so I figured what the heck... same as the same size. Well, I managed to do a recovery on it and it worked gr8 for awhile and I had the reserved question to win 10 to come now don't you know I managed to be affected by any work Drivede else than IE? And as chance would have I couldn't find it either Avast? Thinking Oh well I caught my recovery discs and small hollow and threw the disc with only the sounds coming from the DVD? Hmmm... not good so I ordered the disks from Acer and does a dance of joyous when they arrived well? now I can't get to run either when all types of software disk, but any OS for Acer? OK I can't flatline my HDD in that the front end dang MBR and system32 won't get far lol.

Is there a way to clean the dang thing back again other than buying a $200,00 external box? Or the same price for a brand new HARD drive to an old machine?  I'm kind of tech savey so no response will help I luv this machine Aspire 5517 and saved from the grave several times but. I tried every concievable safe? tool out there in cyberspace DBAN/Gpart/etc. Anyone want to bite? Laughing out loud

already tried Hiren boot CD and miniXP?

Download boot from Hiren's cd
http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/

You must create a media bootable CD or USB pen from the .iso image file in the downloaded .zip file.
start by selecting Mini XP

Once booted using command prompt:
then inside the cmd window, type
DiskPart
then, type diskpart
list disk
take note of the correct disc ID to clear
type
Select disk x
(where x is the ID of your disk to erase)
type
clean all the

Assistant Creation of partition?

Download the .iso file
then use a software to burn CD/DVD or USB flash drive and burn the .iso file
Once completed, put the CD/DVD/USB on your PC, boot from CD/USB (maybe you need to start under the legacy if you have the UEFI BIOS)
Press F12 on startup and choose the CD or USB
at the level of the Office
Select your HARD drive
Right-click on the icon for your HARD disk, and then choose Remove all xxxx and click Yes, and then apply

or wipe your HARD drive completely (it will erase any GPT or MBR at the disk), choose the first option after selecting the clear function.

  • Acer eRecovery, what to do?

After a sudden BIOS reset (unknown cause) Windows 7 did not start more. Replacing the CMOS battery did not help. The "BOOTMGR is missing" message is persistent. Reinstallation of the operating system did not work with my Acer eRecovery dvd. I get the message there is not enough space for the temporary files needed. I see this 0.1 GB partition at the start of the wizard Creation of Partition. That's what I see:
    Disc 1. Used unused capacity
    13 GB GB 9,22 PQSERVICE 3.78 GB
    ACER 100 MB 9.73 MB 90,22 MB
    Acer 225.95 92.8 MB 225.86 GB
    226,71 GB GB 103,1 123,61 GB DATA

I formatted the third partition (Acer), but Acer eRecovery always gives the same error of not enough disk space.
What should I do? I really really not delete my DATA partition. Can I remove other partitions, including the hidden PQSERVICE partition?

Please help me, I'm already spend days on it and contact the Acer Support myself doesn't help either...

I think that since you have c and d volume, you can keep d volume but delete everying else.  Your D is more a partition... that is a volume.

But I'm not too good sense when it comes to disk management... the partitions, volumes and others, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

If you have important data on your volume D:, then maybe use some data recovery software if you are not sure.  You must remove the drive and put it in a USB enclosure, or something.

  • l1Is there a way to install applications using my Acer erecovery flash drive?

I had to do a clean install of windows 10 and I lost all my apps. Is it possible to install applications from the provided by Acer erecovery flash drive?

    yancey1000,

Unfortunately not, this drive is just loading the operating system, not the actual individual applications and drivers. What system you have, there may be certain Acer applications on our technical support site.

  • Question about Acer eRecovery USB key

    Hi friends Acer,

    I need your helping hands.

I wanted to make sure IF I order Acer eRecovery USB key for my UltraBook S7-391 and he's going to recover my system back to factory with the original score of 3 (2 were hidden)? Even if I deleted my hard drive completely and turn it into single partition?

    My 2nd question:

If I decide to reinstall the Windows original 8 64-bit, including the given factory Application & drivers in my ONLY hard disk partition - would it be also possible and NOT necessarily make 3 with Acer recovery partition in one of the hidden partition?

I knew that this is an easy question for you BUT have you tried and confirmed before? Thank you very much for your kind advice!

Both questions can be answered, Yes.

The system recovery to factory default charge as close as possible, including the hidden partition.

However, it is something that you can change if you decide to do and to load only the operating system on a single partition.

Please keep in mind that Windows will make a 100MB system reserved partition and this can not be avoided.

  • I think that Acer eRecovery Management broke my PC

    Hi people,

Yesterday, I decided it was time to clean up my pc by performing a complete reinstallation.

I was checking the microsoft site that told me to contact Acer on reinstalling windows since

It came with the pc. So I used the Acer eRecovery Management tool to reinstall.

I chose the "restore Operating System to factory defaults" or something like that.

Everything worked well, progress achieved in 'done', followed by a reboot.

Then he said that some (well, 'prepare' - as) things in a really oldschool windows95-style which I don't know is correct.

It was like 8-bit stuff. Then came another reboot and I noticed that I heard the beep as usual.

No picture, no sound, nothing. (I tried two GPU entries). The light of the CPU also doesn't seem to be

    do things.

That's happened? I missed a great conference call via internet over there...

I really really don't know what to do.

    Kind regards

    Thomas

    (I'm on an Aspire X 3950 I think)

    OK, try this:

    Unplug the power cord

Open the PC case and get the battery CMOS, normally are a round button battery (CR2025) and is under the CPU.

remove the battery and wait for 5 minutes, press the power button two times, put the battery back, plug back power cord and try to start.

  • Acer eRecovery error Flash...

    Hello

I paid $80 for delivery the next day on a flash for my laptop Acer eRecovery.   And when I pasted into my USB a mistake came about 5 minutes in the process, saying: "M:\NAPP.dat is Miss.".   I can't complete the process of resetting my computer laptop back to factory settings.  I'm in Windows 8.

How can I get this error and get things on my work laptop once more?

    Thanks in advance.

I think it was a combination of failover to the legacy access to the hard drive and using an old recovery flash drive to format completely with Iso in one other usb hub to finally allow the new usb acer create records of M and N necessary for the new installation. Thank you

  • Boot Acer Aspire E1 problem

I have an Acer Aspire model E1 Q5WPH, runnng Windows 8.  All has been well until this week when the screen started flashing random colours.

I put the power off and then it won't start back upward.  Power seems to happen as it starts the DVD player, but then the power led goes off - then turn it back on and the process continues until I turned off the machine again.

Is this a known problem and is there anything to do about it?

    Hello

Check if you have the extended warranty or service plan of the store that you got of the device, which can help you save a few $s.
