  • Turn on bidirecttional communicattion, Acer netbook

    I'm trying to print from my Acer Netbook, Windows 7, on a network printer Dell 948.  When I send a job to the printer, I get the error message "Enable bidirecttional communicattion.  This option is grayed out and unverifiable tab properties/Port of the printer.  How can I fill the printer set up?

    I did, from the printer installation CD.  The installation process has reported that the installation has been completed successfully.

    Hello
    I know how to solve this,
    Go to the start menu, then devices and printers, then find your printer, then select it. Now right-click on it, then on the menu, according to me, that need to go to the preference or printer properties to change the settings for two-way communication. In the menu preference or properties... Find a checkbox for two-way communication and enable it from there.
    If your were not able to do so I recommend you to uninstall your driver and printing software and re install by running as an administrator (right click and run as admin)
    Also, make sure that your firewall is not blocking the communication!

  • Where get me a Windows 7 disc to reinstall on the Acer Netbook?

    Good evening

    Can someone tell me how do get me a copy of Windows 7?  I bought an acer netbook and have a legitimate product key.  However, this netbook has no CD or DVD drive, so I can't download and burn a copy of Windows 7.  I don't have a pluggable USB external CD/DVD drive, but it is not capable of burning.  I would just like to acquire a disc of Windows 7, Windows.  Please don't give me any explanation on how to perform a recovery, etc.  The main thing is I want a Windows 7 disc.  Is this possible?  I apologize if this specific request has been asked and I missed it, but most of the other answers gives to all system tools can be used.  Which is not the means that I'm looking.  I'd be happy to pay shipping and handling for the Windows 7 disc that I bought with my netbook.  Just, I want a disk, both ask?  : )

    I use Windows 7 starter netbook new acer (SD270), but not able to open the bluetooth.

    After research, it shows that bluetooth is installed. After clicking on the bluetooth application, no window pops up.

    Please notify.

    Hello

    1. which Bluetooth application you are trying to open?
    2 have you made any changes to the computer before the show?

    You can try to open the Bluetooth software in clean boot and see if you can open the software.

    To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    Try to perform the clean boot and check if it helps, here is the link:

  • I recently acquired a good/used Acer netbook. It had been used until I got it, and now when I try to attach it to my wireless network, he says, "no or limited connectivity. or "invalid IP addrsss.

    I spent a few hours with people from Verizon (we actually gave a d *).  Although the computer says it's my problem with the service, technology at Verizon showed my several times that it is not their fault.  Acer will not accept a new IP address.  We went back and ordered the change, and he constantly relocated the old IP address.

    The kicker is that he picked up on a little bit of info via the wireless, so I don't know that there is a possibility of service with this thing.

    Any ideas?  Thank you for your help.

    Router is a model UltraLine Series3 9100EM

    You explain what you mean by

    "Acer will not accept a new IP address.  We went back and ordered the change, and he has systematically relocated the old IP address.

    so the suggestions below can duplicate things you already have.

    Please describe, in as much detail as you can, the steps you have taken and what happened.

    What version of Windows XP, including the service pack is installed on the computer?

    The IP address that is indicated in the information provided (169.254.213.152) indicates that the adapter wifi on your computer is NOT connected to your router.  Almost always, this problem is caused by an incompatibility between the security settings of the router (for example, the password or encryption key) and the wifi adapter settings.

    By default, most provided by Verizon routers are configured with security basic 64 - bit WEP, WEP key wireless, printed on a label on the router.  It really is more appropriate wifi security... but before you can change it to something better, you have to connect to the router.

    How you proceed from here depends of if you have other computers that work with the router, if you can connect to Acer to the router via an Ethernet connection, or if you have to assume that the router is configured with the default SSID (serial number) and its default WEP encryption key.  If you can access the router using Acer connected by Ethernet or another computer, you will be able to determine the current configuration of the security of the router and reconfigure it so that it uses a more secure wifi encryption.

    So, do you have other computers connected to the router? Are wired or wireless connections? You can get the Acer to the router to connect with an Ethernet cable?

    We consider (1) that you have Windows XP with service pack 3 installed, (2) that you have no other computers connected to the router, (3) you cannot connect Acer to the router with an Ethernet cable, and (4) the router is configured to use the serial number and the WEP key printed on a label on the router.  The WEP key will be 10 hexadecimal digits, for example, 4 44463747.

    If one of the assumption 4 above is not correct, you might want to show returns with the additional information rather than follow the steps below (you can try anyway, but if the default router wifi security settings have been changed, they do not work).

    1. Go to the router, find the tag and copy the number series of the router (or SSID if specified) and the WEP key.
    2. Open network connections (start > run > ncpa.cpl > OK)
    3. Right click on your wireless adapter icon and choose Properties
    4. Click the wireless networks tab
    5. Make sure the box at the top next to "use Windows to configure my wireless."
    6. In the list of "Preferred networks", select the entry for your router (this should be the serial number of your router) then click on remove.
    7. Click on the view wireless networks"" button.
    8. SSID of your router (serial number) should appear in the list of wireless networks.  Select it and click "connect". When you are prompted for the password, enter the WEP key that you copied to the label of the router.
    9. Open a web browser and confirm that you can access the Internet.  If you do not have Internet, type 192.168.1.1 in the browser address box and confirm that you get to the login page of the router.  Verizon may or may not have configured a router password; If a password has BEEN configured, it will be written down on some of the paperwork that Verizon has given you when the system has been installed.
  • WINDOWS 7 Starter Edition - ACER netbook

    A dear friend (the owner of the Netbook above) died recently.

    He had stored a large family history on the Netbook, details of which the surviving members of his family are seeking access.

    The Netbook was passed to me to try to recover the data.

    The problem: the Netbook has been protected by the deceased and none of the family have no idea of what is the password.

    In addition, it seems impossible to start the Netbook as an 'administrator' - not even in safe mode.

    Record as 'Administrator' is not an option anywhere.

    As a result, it is impossible to access the stored data.

    You will understand that it is the cause of concern for his surviving family. They would be very grateful for any information that would permit access to these data.

    Thank you

    It's a well known fact that you can access files stored on a disk as soon as you have physical access to a computer. This is true for most if not all the Windows operating systems, not only.

    You can reset a password of Windows through the steps described below. The process is complex and requires some careful typing. Ask a computer-savvy friend to help you if you lack experience in this field.

    1 connect the drive to some other Windows PC.
    2. open a command prompt.
    3.  .. 5. (not relevant in your case)
    6. identify the correct drive letter for the installation of Windows of the netbook. You do this by typing commands
    dir E:\Win* {Enter}
    dir F:\Win* {Enter}
    dir G:\Win* {Enter}
    etc.
    until you find the Windows folder.
    I'll call this "Q:" drive
    7 type these commands:
    CD /d Q:\windows\System32 {Enter}
    move sethc.exe------{Enter}
    copy cmd.exe sethc.exe {Enter}
    8. replace the drive in the netbook.
    9 restart and hold down the SHIFT key at all times.
    10 when challenged a password, tap the SHIFT key five times. You will see a small black screen.
    11 type these commands:
    NET user {Enter}
    (To see a list of all accounts that exist on your machine)
    NET user Administrator {Enter}
    (To see if the administrator account is active)
    12 enter these commands:
    NET user 'xxx' ppp {Enter}
    (Replace xxx by the account for which you want to set a new password and ppp with the new password)
    NET user administrator / Active: Yes {Enter}
    (To activate the account administrator if you wish)
    13 log in with this account, using the new password.
    14. reboot the machine Repair Mode by pressing F8 during startup.
    15 select the command prompt.
    16 type these commands:
    CD /d Q:\windows\System32 {Enter}
    (The correct drive letter is probably C: but it could be D: or e :)))
    copy \sethc.exe {Enter}
    17 restart normally.

  • Trying to reinstall XP on an Acer netbook, get a stop 7B code

    I'm trying to reinstall windows on this computer, because the previous installation was too far gone to mess with. (Would become completely insensitive, requiring a hard reset, and all malware scans came clear)

    When the installation disc is in the phase of "starting windows", every time, I get a BSOD with a stop 7B code, and I don't know what could be causing it. What can I do?

    (This happens with several different installation disks, so this isn't the issue)

    I have had this printer for 8 or 9 months and have been printing with this 3 or 4 times a week. I changed the cartridges twice. My black cratridge began printing sporatically and I replaced it with a new cartridge. (it was almost empty)

    Now, nothing will be printed in black. I ran the cleaning cycle twice on the new cartridge without success. I returned to my dealer and purchase of all new cartridges (black, cyan, magenta and yellow) and installed all 4 carts and print a test page. All colours printed correctly... but not black!  I printed again the diagnosis Page print twice and printing clean cycle twice without success.
