Acer Recovery Disk (Win XP & Win 7)

Help!

OK, so I have an Acer computer, which was loaded with XP factory.  Then windows update update the Windows 7 operating system.

Here's my problem.  Recently, my machine became unstable.  He had a nasty bug!  I tried for days to get rid of it and couldn't!  I decided that the best way to solve this problem was to perform a new installation from the original recovery disk when I first bought the machine, I created.  The OS is XP.

When the update of windows updated my machine to Windows 7 I didn't create a recovery disk.

Fortunately, today I was able to fix my machine without doing a clean install.

In which case I have to do a clean install on my machine, what should I do?  I know that XP is no longer supported.

Now create a new recovery disc on my computer running Windows 7 now?

Please help me...  I am so confused, frightened and frustrated!

Thank you

Natalie

    I bought a new Dell i3847 and it has Windows 7 Pro 64 bit installed at the factory on it.

    I wanted to make a complete backup of the system, but the Dell Backup and Recovery software does not allow me to make a backup of the system.  In addition, I was unable to create a system recovery disk using Dell backup and restore.

    I can't use the drive system recovery expected Dell because it clearly states Windows 8.1

    (2) what is the problem with Dell backup and recovery that she:

    (a) cannot create a recovery disc factory

    (b) allow me to create a backup system so I can go back to the factory State

    Help!

    It has been 2.5 hours and it is still "initialize disk" to create a recovery of the plant.  It usually somewhere fails during initialization or in writing.    Spend hours for each failed attempt to create a factory recovery disc is NOT GOOD!

    The factory restore disk was finally created.

    Dell is now a person pays create a backup system and the user must download a update to do so.

    Microsoft has a tool to create a system image and make a recovery / restore disc which is free.

    So, I used DBaR do restore disk by the factory.

    However, to make a system image and a recovery / restore for that, I used windows 7 built in software.

  • Acer recovery disks do not install Windows 7 on a new hard drive SSD

    Hi all!

    I have Ace Aspire 5742 G laptop and I have problems to install the Windows 7 operating system on my new hard drive SSD (I bought the SSD because the original hard drive is defect and do all the time... blue screens)

    For the factory restore, I use the restore disks. I burned the discs a few years back when the laptop has insisted me to do (using eRecovery or something, in total 3 dvds).

    Testing of computer to install the operating system with the DVD (asked to insert a dvd and then press a key). The real problem is that the installer will just in loops, restart and eventuallyfreezing in the end...

    Restart--> Acer--> Windows logo takes over... files-> from windows-> reboot-> etc.

    Which continued for more than an hour (on the first dvd!) and all of a sudden that it froze right on screen "starting windows..." I had to restart and stars on again once.

    I can still use my old formatted HARD drive, should I do the new set of recovery disks or use a USB?

    Thanks for the answers in advance!

  • Huge problem with the system on my laptop Acer s7-391 acer recovery disk

    Hi all, I'm really desperate as my laptop have stopped working for the weeks and I need it back

    First question: I installed the window 10 free upgrade successfully, however, I decided to restore the laptop through the window 10 plant factory restore Start menu because there were a lot of unnecessary files and after the window factory restore, I am unable to start again under the window and I get an error message says "no bootable device detected" and the computer goes into a reboot loop no way to factory restore to new outside the window. I try to reset the battery several times and nothing works!

    Second question: I received my acer restore disk that I got from the acer site because I didn't not create recovery media to when my window was working. So I pop the disk with a usb CD-ROM and I was able to get into recovery by the disc menu. However, when I try to choose the option of disk factory restore, he said to start from legacy mode. However, when I go to legacy mode he gave me an 0xc0000017 error code saying: not enough memory to create the virtual disk. If does not work reinstall drive

    Anyway to solve the above problems, should I do it before I jump into the Acer restore with legacy mode disc? Should I send it to Acer for repair? I really need this phone in working condition.

    Thank you guys!

    A live bootable CD is probably the best option for your situation:
    http://www.partitionwizard.com/Partition-Wizard-bootable-CD.html
    Download the .iso file
    then use a software to burn CD/DVD or USB flash drive and burn the .iso file
    Once completed, put the CD/DVD/USB on your PC, boot from CD/USB (maybe you need to start under the legacy if you have the UEFI BIOS)
    Press F12 on startup and choose the CD or USB
    at the level of the Office
    Select your HARD drive
    Right-click on the icon for your HARD disk, and then choose Remove all xxxx and click Yes, and then apply
    http://www.partitionwizard.com/help/delete-all-partitions.html#HOWTO
    or wipe your HARD drive completely (it will erase any GPT or MBR at the disk), choose the first option after selecting the clear function.
    Exit the wizard partition, boot from the BIOS, UEFI return of the Legacy (if you have the UEFI BIOS) and boot from media erecovery.

  • Recovery disk - WIN 8 PRO version

    Hello everyone

    Pls forgive me, but I'm new here. ALSO many FRUSTRATED by this 'State' I'm in.

    (1) > = story I bought a HP ENVY laptop (not touch smart) of HP OUTLET store in December 2013. Yes, it was cheaper and come with a 90 DAY warranty. Teh laptop was not delivered until Dec. 24 and not received until December 29, 2013.

    (2) > unpacking, we noticed that the laptop = BOOK WITH BATTERY INSTALLED ((généralement les ordinateurs portables sont livrés avec batterie dans le compartiment séparé-c'est quand nous avons remarqué que le LOQUET de la BATTERIE (batterie grosse dans notre cas) was BROKEN and a small part had fallen inside the BOX!))

    ALSO NOTE = had Windows PRO version 8.1 (but paperwork simply said Win8)... so we didn't mind the free UPGRADE!

    3-> we started the laptop via the POWER CORD (WITHOUT BATTERY) = all is ok so far

    (4) > in the new year, we called HP to see if they could have this laptop repaired (fix battery = no small job, I was told by guy order servce!)

    "5 > Send phone repair with a note saying" pls also upgrade our PRO Win 8 to 8.1 "if possible"

    (6) laptop came back to us after only 4 weeks (2 weeks repairing, 2 weeks of travel) yip it's true!

    > then we found, this laptop does not START past the HP LOGO

    > called HP Support > they told us

    ""the 90 day warranty has expired ".

    Now, I am in need for the RECOVERY DISC and no way to get it? YES, I can pay for it, but it seems that I did have this laptop to be used during more than 2 or 3 days in total! and now I have to PAY for THE RECOVERY DISC. To make things worse when I do the @HP link, they can give only to WIN 8 (Basic version) and not the PROFESSIONAL VERSION of windows that came with it in the first place

    Anyway in HP which is listering can help me?

  • Satellite Pro A10 recovery disks fail to reinstall Win XP

    My A10 Pro Sat operated happily running a system dual boot (XP and Mandriva) before a failure to start a day.
    I've successfully used the Toshiba recovery disks and everything was OK for a year or two before the same problem reappeared.

    Now the recovery disk Nr.1does not restores the system and the laptop turns off after appearing to run normally for about 20 seconds.

    Restore the MBR and fitness by using a recovery disk Win 98 could not solve the problem.

    Anyone has any ideas please?

    > Now the Nr.1does recovery disk does not restore the system and the laptop turns off after appearing to run normally for about 20 seconds.

    Sorry, but this sentence confuses me. What you mean under function normally? Start your laptop computer, enter BIOS settings and leave it with that. Laptop does turns off after a short time or what?

    Maybe you should explain a little better what happens when you start your laptop.

  • 5420 recovery Acer extensa disk is no longer available... where I can find

    I have an Acer Extensa 5420.  The hard drive has been corrupted, so I replaced it with a new 320.  I don't have the recovery disks.  I contacted Acer and they said that they are no longer available.  My daughter just bought a new Acer Aspire, I was wondering if I order the recovery disc for her new laptop will be that I could use to reinstall an operating system or do I have the original.  If I can't do it, where can I get the recovery disc for the Extensa?

    Hello

    they are not the same models

    you have an Extensa, you daughter has an Aspire

    recovery discs are the model and the specific brand

    see if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to factory back to top of page

    with an Acer, you press Alt + F10 at startup to start the recovery process

    and to make recovery disks it click on start - search under software Acer - then under eRecovery

    or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

    Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

    they contain all versions of vista

    This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

    Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, Acer, recovery disk/s etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  • 5750z recovery disks

    Hello

    Is there someone nice enough to create an ISO of the restore disc Acer 5750z with Windows 7?

    I did a few discs when I came to the computer, but it does not burn a copy of the partition recovery there. My HARD drive is dead and now I'm stuck

    Cheers for any help,

    Lee.

    Hi Laurent,.

    It's a lie. It is not the only solution, although it is the best solution for Acer.

    I have my computer running with Windows 10 right now (no thanks to Acer support). In fact, support Acer told me that this computer was not expandable to 10 Windows... Hmm completely incompetent.

    Here is how I fixed it.

    I solved it! I managed to get a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) and which has installed on the computer. I then used the Microsoft Activation by automated telephone service to activate the copy of windows!

    It worked better than I have all the bloatware that comes with a new Acer recovery. I just got all the necessary drivers on the Acer support site.

    I just do all the updates now, and I hope I'll be able to upgrade to windows 10.

    Once again, thank you for your very quick response!

    If anyone has the same problem as me, don't bother looking for the Acer recovery disks or return the Acer computer to fix. Just you get a copy of the same version of windows and then activate by phone! Microsoft should have all the details of the product key with the computer so that they know that the computer should legitimately have a copy of Windows! I can't believe that Microsoft actually was right this time!

    I hope this post helps someone out there!

  • Need recovery disks

    I need the recovery disc for desktop Aspire T180 with Vista Home Basic.  The owner has lost or did not have his own records and the software does not work. If there is a recovery partition it no longer works. The site says "no available for the serial number entered the RCD.  How can I recover this system?

    This machine is older than my Acer I bought in 2009 and I have "No available for the serial number entered RCD" when my snid is entered as.  I hope this is a mistake.  Help, please.

    Sorry if I have not clear myself, but I already did.  In fact, I entered the snid for the machine that I am actually MORE I entered the snid for my own desktop Acer (4 years) and to get the statement "not available for the serial number entered the RCD. I entered two serial numbers, thus, get the same thing.

    So I decided to call Acer.  Said that the machine is longer than 3 years so, Acer does NOT PROVIDE RECOVERY DISKS for MACHINES above 3 YEARS.  Can you believe that?  99% of the machines that I am working on are Vista and those NOT an owner makes these recovery disks.  And more than the recovery partition (if it exists) does not work. I followed the instructions I found online here and can't make it work.  (Most but not all I recovery partition a rememer that did the work-Acer brand).

    I work on computers because I like it. And for this reason friends ask me what to buy when they are ready. I often recommend Acer.  I own two myself. But no more. I will not buy or recommend them if the owners can not even buy the Acer recovery disks. Acer is basically saying that there is NO support beyond three years (outside of these forums).

    I can, however, buy the ACER contest any recovery discs.  One of the major manufacturers GIVES them to you!  The other main manufacturer sells for a few dollars.

    Shame on the ACER.  It is no possible to treat your customers.
