  • Acrobat Pro hangs after 5 seconds

    Hello!

I have not found an answer in the forum. So I hope you can help me.

My new installation of Acrobat Pro - installed via the CC Application Manager - hangs after 5 or more seconds open Adobe Application Manager for 2 seconds. No difference when just openeing the application or any pdf file. There is no error message.

Before the installation, I used a CS5.5 Design Premium trial for a few days. I uninstalled before installing the CS6 (cloud Creative). Before that, I had CS Design Standard 5.5 running without any problem for about 8 months.

    All other Applications work correctly.

I use Adobe CS6 on a Mac under Lion with the latest updates (10.7.4). There is (not yet) any special fonts.

IST has something to do with an update to Acrobat problems?

Thank you very much for your help!

    Timo

It can, but it is always difficult to ensure with the information currently available.  To give you the best opportunity for a successful installation, I recommend the following:

    1. Delete all Adobe Creative Software using the uninstaller programs located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers
    2. Run the tool cleaner of CS - CS cleanup for installation problems tool | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
    3. Restart in a Root user in safe secure account - let me know if you need more information for this and I can locate some Apple Web site links
    4. Reinstall Adobe Acrobat

Some of these steps may certainly not be needed as the user root and boot.  But fill these steps will give you the highest probability of successful your installation.

  • 8900 comm http hangs after the second connection (do not view with the 83XX devices or 8900 Simulator)?

    Hello

I currently have a j2me application that is deployed in production on different devices of BB. The application is pretty simple and mainly collects the data of the user (via text fields, drop-down list boxes etc.) and send these data to our server via an http connection

The application was deployed in production for more than 6 months and work with end users using various BB devices, like the 8310, 8320 and 9000.

Our end users now upgrade to the 8900 and we assumed that our application would work in the same way as the 8320-I even tested my app on the Simulator to 8900 and everything works fine.

However, using the app on a real 8900 device connected to the network Vodafone here in the United Kingdom has cast some weird problems. The app installs fine OTA, communicates initially very well (as we connect via an http post), but then any attempt further communication over http hang everything simply no error thrown?

Closing the application does not have any change, and blocking any attempt at communication. If I restart the device (battery etc) and start the application then I can connect once more, and then the app just crashes again.

I can't find the cause, and the fact that other physical devices and even the Simulator to 8900 work very well is weird!

Any help or pointer to start looking in my code/settings would be appreciated?

    Daniel

Please make sure you close your connection. or check if the current connection is close before opening another.

  • Acrobat hangs after that put 8.2.3 update

I have Acrobat 8 Standard, and it worked OK until today.

I got a notification that an update is available (already happened), so I go through the process.

Now, as soon as the program is started and the main screen is up and ready, a popup appears saying:

"A serious error has been detected and Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard cannot continue.  Please reinstall the application and try again.

When I click OK, close Acrobat, Windows performs a quick check for a solution and find nothing.

Tried to reinstall the update - without help.

Trying to get back to the "Programs and features" window and repair Acrobat - no help.

    Any suggestions?

Can you check if the files below are all have the same end of June after installing all the updates?

    Acrobat.dll
    Adobelm.dll
    AcrobatFNP.dll

    The files are located in

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat

    or

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat on 64 bit system

If this isn't the case, it would mean that update is not properly installed.

You could try to delete these 3 files and run ARP repair - repair should restore.

Before to do that please make a backup (for these 3 files) in case something goes wrong and the files are not restored after repair.

    Good luck

  • Why Adobe Acrobat hangs for a few seconds when first creating text box?

I use Adobe Acrobat Pro 11.0.11.

Usually, whenever I do the first text box after awhile since I finally used Adobe, it hangs for 5 seconds. Would it be a matter of Adobe or a hardware problem?

These symptoms result from a combination of the internal architecture of Acrobat and your hardware configuration.

When the first load of Acrobat when you explicitly call Acrobat or when you double-click a PDF file, only the minimum part of the program which is required to view a PDF file is initially loaded into memory. This excludes the required modules to support the myriad of features that supports Acrobat, including forms, preflight, signatures, editing PDF files, etc. What if all the code needed to be charged at time of initial start Acrobat, that the starting time would be too long! However, this additional code is loaded as needed. It is the reason why you see the delay of the first time you create a text box and not for the following text boxes.

In addition, when you close your last document, Acrobat isn't immediately shutdown. For example, if you double-click a PDF file for a short time after you think that acrobat is is no longer running, it quickly shows your PDF file and even the creation of the first text box will not only delay you previously registered.

This brings the question of how can you minimize the delay? There are several factors at work here. The first is the amount of memory real you have on your system. If you have many programs running and not a lot of memory, you end up with a virtual memory with the page fly resultant defects requiring operations on disc for you get the memory required by Acrobat and program memory pages that are stored on the disk. Then of course, the speed of your disks makes a difference both dealing with management as well as the portions remaining Acrobat loading of virtual memory needed for editing functions you call. A disk 5400 RPM is much slower than a 7200 RPM drive, which in turn is very slow compared to a SSD (solid state disk). And if you do not have a SSD and your magnetic disk drive is fragmented, more disk performance suffers. Bottom line is that adequate main memory and a disk capacity and speed higher will help. And if your drive is not an SSD, defragment your drive on a regular basis.

PS: Protected mode or repair your installation of Acrobat are irrelevant here!

  • Acrobat 8.1.4 dies after 10 seconds

Acrobat 8.1.4 dies after 10 seconds.  This is new behavior today after running fine for months on Windows XP/SP3.  No matter if Acrobat is opened indirectly through an opening of file in Explorer or directly from a shortcut or start / programs.  Sometimes I can get an open file but don't have no time to do something with it before disappears from the Acrobat window.  Related previous discussions the same problem on a Mac have no idea.  I see no error reports, no Dr. Watson, no Windows, nothing Adobe event.  I'm not aware of any change in the system for at least several days, including updates of Windows that would have required Admin approval before you download and install.  Don't have not yet deleted and reinstalled but other reports suggest that it is only a temporary fix if anything.  Ideas?  Or Adobe suggests that I've upgrade to V9?

You could try doing a repair Acrobat (under the Help menu) installation first. Here are some additional troubleshooting tips - such as deleting the tmp files that Acrobat checks during the startup process.

  • AUTOMATIC UPDATE HAS OCCURRED THIS MORNIONG AND NOW THE PLAYER OPENS BUT CLOSES AFTER 5 SECONDS? > HOW to FIX?

set to automatic update was held this morning and now Player opens and closes and then after 5 seconds. How can I fix it

A few things you could try...

    • Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, and then double-click Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
    • You can open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try to disable the Protected Mode [Edit |] Preferences | (Improved) security].
    • If Reader opens in itself, try to disable the Safe_mode in the registry; Download, unzip, then run the attached registry script
    • It might even be a malware problem; See http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

Last week I had to Exchange my media from one HARD disk to another.

Loading following the project of creation where crashed just after the "loading media" bar, has ended.
No signs or whatever it be open as not expected. And first became completely unresponsive.

I went back to the use of the original copy of the HARD drive, but I still had the same problem.
My soultion was to create a completely new project and import my media.

Today the same thing happened but I never moved the images on the HARD drive.
The second project now hangs after "loading media" too.

Other projects where all the files are on my internal HDD are fine.

No error report is generated, and I have a small chance to be able to open the Task Manager to close the first. Usually, I have to pull the plug to turn it off because it seems like using 100% of my use of the disk.

  • Extend Proxy hangs after restart of the Cluster

One of our Application groups faced an interesting problem:

-We have a network problem that causes the cluster restart (not good, but should be recoverable).
    -Extend Proxy restart
-Because the Unix port holds on the Socket to the server during 1 min the Proxy fails but crashes

Given that the process blocks (infact that all proxies do) the cluster becomes unusable.

    We use 3.5.2.p8.

All thoughts, we should lift a SR?

    Best, Andrew.

  • MBP running El Capitan hangs after login

Today, my 2011 15 to the Macbook pro mid hangs after login to the admin account. The status bar does not appear, or the desktop icons. Nothing does, and I need to force the shutdown to be able to restart.

These are the things I've already tried:

    • Restart in safe mode: the desktop icons will appear, but all crashes after a few seconds. I think since safe mode does not work, the problem with the Finder, DS_Store problem, icon, or a problem with iCloud. So I went to the next step.
    • Running the tool of first aid disk utility in OSX (restart + Cmd + R) recovery tools: it indicates that the drive is OK.
    • / Sbin/fsck - FY running in single user mode: the drive seems to be OK.

I don't know what to try next. Since I really need my computer for the next few days, I could go to an Apple store later this week. Of course, I would be really happy to avoid the costs of this option.

Anyone of you has an idea of what I should try next?

    What safeguards do you have?
You have another account that works?

  • Satellite Pro U400 - 15 p hangs after enabling the Realtek RTL8187B WLan card

    Hello

I recently bought the Toshiba Satellite Pro u400 - 15 p. This notebook is originally without any operating system included. I installed Windows XP Home SP3 on it and downloaded all the drivers from the Web from Toshiba website. Everything works well except the WiFi - RTL8187B.

Driver has been installed correctly, when I turn the WLAN on everything is always OK, but when I connect to a network wireless Windows XP hangs after some time - without notice or BSOD - and the only thing I can do is to restart the PC holding down the button for 5 seconds.

    I have:
    -installed the latest BIOS (v3.70),
-installed the last version of drivers available (v6.1150.1112.2008)
-tried how it works on Vista Home Basic - it does not either, but on Vista only connection must be reset.

I searched on the web (perhaps not all), including this forum, but I was unable to find a solution.
Now I am seriously considering warranty claim, please help me to avoid that it ;)

    Hello

    It's really strange.
Are you sure that this happens because of the WLan card activated 100%?
I mean there could be another reason for this gel

I'm U400 too and I m running Win XP and Vista without problem!
At that time, I m using WiFi and everything works ok

I think it s not a Wlan related question, but there must be another reason why this laptop locks maybe a problem of RAM or something like that.
