  I would suggest trying the following steps and check if it helps:

  Scanning from the charger:

  Step 1: Click on the 'Start' button on your desktop and type 'brother' in the search field. Point to the name of your MFC and select "ControlCenterx" (where "x" is a number one digit) to load the ControlCenter application in the system tray to the left of the clock on your taskbar. Double-click the "ControlCenter" icon in the system tray.

  Step 2: Click on "Configuration" and select "Scan". Select 'File' as the type of scan to open the scan to the Configuration window.

  Step 3: Go to the 'Touch' tab and choose "PDF (*.)" (PDF),"" # no multi-page Tiff compressed (*.) " (TIF)"or" # Tablet multi-page Tiff (*.) " (TIF)"under File Types, as these types of files allow analyses of several pages.

  Step 4: Place the entire document in the ADF on the scanner and press the button "Scan" of the machine. Press the 'Arrow' key to select 'File' and press 'OK '. Press the button 'Start' to scan to a single document.

  Scan of the glass:

  Step 1: Lift the cover of the document on the Brother MFC, place the first page face down on the glass and close the lid.

  Step 2: Click the 'Start' button on the computer and in the search box, type "scansoft. "ScanSoft PaperPort" and select "PaperPort."

  Step 3: Select the Brother MFC as the scanner, and then select a profile, such as "B & W Document". Click on "search".

  Step 4: Remove the glass on the first page after that latter was analyzed and place the second page on the glass. Close the lid and click the button "Scan more Pages.

  Step 5: Browse all pages in the document one at a time. When you are finished, click the Finish"" button.

  I recently bought this multifunction machine.  The software installed without any problems.  When you copy, the documents are taken from the ADF correctly, but if I use Adobe Acrobat to scan from the computer in PDF format, it does not appear to recognize the ADF and the scans from the glass.  I have not tried scanning directly from the computer in PDF format.  I could not find anything in the user manual or the HP support that relates to this.  If anyone had the problem and knows how to solve this problem, I would really appreciate it.  Thank you!

  You should be able to go to the HP scanning application settings to change the DPI setting. It seems that there is a problem with this version of Adobe Acrobat (see link below). You have an older version of Adobe Acrobat, you can test with?

  The default analysis workflows configured to detect separate elements. don't forget to change the scanning settings to not crop the area swept as follows:

  1 open the HP utility and select your device.
  2. based on Scan Settings open the "Scan to Computer".
  3. click on the tab "scan tasks.
  4. Select the shortcut Scan allows to analyze, and then click on edit.
  5. in the section of scanning from an HP device, click the blue triangle or button view details to expand the menu.
  6. in the expanded menu now, open the drop down next to cultures in and set as none.
  7. click OK and try to scan the image.

  OK, so I installed a printer/scanner/copier (Brother MFC-240 c) and my (Dell Studio 1749) system became slow insainly! so I restarted. then the Windows Aero effect disappeared and that basic services has begun. so, basically is started in Mode safe without the trunk. I couldn't do anything requiring a parameter system, or something of the sort. I tried to restore it and I got a message that the required services could not be started! that has been the standard message for everything. I got it somehow to start as it should, but now Kaspersky is sayign databases are corrupted and I can't understand it. Well. But what I would do if it were to happen again? I finally restored the 17/09/10 somehow. IM fine with the way it is now, but I want to what to do if that should ever happen again, and what I can do to prevent it. any help would be amazing!
