Activate NumLock forever

How can I activate Num Lock On and leave it on. Even after that it recharges?

I looked in the BIO and have the latest version.

G555

My numlock is turned on. but I found this registry trick on answers.microsoft.com

Try this; To activate the digital LOCK until a user logs on, follow these steps:

1. run the registry editor.
2. bring in HKEY_USERS\. Default\Control Panel\Keyboard.
3. change the value of the InitialKeyboardIndicators from 0 to 2.

This is for Win7... So let me know if it works for you.

    Hi Marc

As much as I know there is no certain special option to turn on the num lock and you can not define is as default to be always enabled. Extra keypad on the keyboard is designed for use with different applications such as Office Excel and allow you an entry comfortable numbers in some document.

On my laptop (P500), I noticed that when I turn off laptop with active NumLock will be on next start so let is all the TIME.

  • P50: activate numlock always

Simple question: How do NUMLOCK is always turned on, beginning the startup (when the password or PIN code are reported)?

I did not find this option in the BIOS.

    Thank you

OK, changing of InitialKeyboardIndicators to 2 for each user account in the registry worked for me.

However, I think that Lenovo must still put this option in the BIOS boot menu.

  • How to activate the NumLock at startup for Dell Precision 7510

    Hello

I just got a new 7510 precision and can not find a way to activate numlock automatically at startup.

I checked the BIOS and that is already activated.

I would like that because I'm running WIndows 10 and it is set to connect with a digital PIN.

Does anyone know how to do this?

    Thank you

    Jim

Hi, my company has just bought some of these 7510 s. I had the same problem. This is how I corrected.

Go 2 places in the registry fix.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/CONTROL PANEL / KEYBOARD and IntitialKeyboardIndicators set of 2

Next and don't forget to do the one below (this is my problem, only did a whole first)

IntitialKeyboardIndicators HKEY_USERSDEFAULT/CONFIGURATION/KEYBOARD Panel and set of 2

    Hope this helps :)

  • HP Envy 15 - numlock?

    Hello

I just bought the Hp Envy 15 series and like it so far.  However, I use a mouse called Razer Naga with my laptop, and it has a keypad on the side of the mouse.  However, I can't find any which the envy 15 NumLock key (keep in mind that the Envy 17 has a paved digital actual series about it because it's wider, where as the 15 did not).  The keypad on my mouse will not work correctly without numlock and I need a way to activate numlock - already tried to enter the reg to automatically make its marketing on log-in, but it just resets it back to off when I restart, maybe it's a viable solution and I did wrong; However, for now, there doesn't seem to be a solution.

I also noticed a few other laptops have a numlock, however to use, you use a combo for example Fn + f11 (which on the Hp Envy 15, the Association put the volume on mute).

So, I'm wondering first if there is a numlock physically on my keyboard?  If not, then a second question, for me, is: is there a way to configure my laptop to make numlock on (ofpreference always)?

Moreover, I have already contacted the support of society of mouse, Razer, on a solution - so havn't been much progress there still.

    Thanks for your time,

    Ryan

    Hello

I found that the number lock can be activated on most systems using the virtual keyboard then go to the options, and you should see a checkbox to activate the numeric keypad.

    Hello

Not sure if EFI is the correct place to do so.

Have you tried to do this in windows itself?

For example, by using the following tutorial:

You can set the features of the keyboard in the BIOS of the virtual machine

Press F2 at startup, then in the main options select features keyboard then activate numlock off or on

  • NumLock key

Dell XPS Windows 8.1 8700 - I need my number lock to stay all the time, went to regedit, find all instances of InitialKeyboard and changed the value of '2 '. I still have to activate numlock when you start the system and numlock is turned off during the move to other users. What I've done wrong?

    Thank you, Alan

If you search these forums, this has been an ongoing problem with the XPS 8700.

You have the latest version of the BIOS (A10)? Do not remember if it updates resolved this problem.

You can also try what fixed it for some others:

Assuming that Win 8 or 8.1:

    1. Go to search (apps)
    2. Type: keyboard
    3. Select on-screen keyboard (digital interactive keyboard appears on the desktop)
    4. Click on options button on the onscreen keyboard (which makes the keypad displayed)
    5. Click numlock
    6. Close onscreen keyboard
  • T400 keypad

    Hello

I bought a Lenovo T400 ThinkPad flea market and am very happy with it. However, it has no manual. I'm running it with Windows 7.

I wish I could create these little strange characters like quarter, half, trema, cedilla, etc.. I have the row of numbers at the top under the F keys; I also have numbers with certain letters. For example, j and 1; k and 2; m and 0; and so on.

When I hit the key Num Lock what can I do then please?

    ozziejoan1

    Nice day.

First, press Fn + scroll stop to activate NumLock.
Press in and hold the Alt key while typing the sequence on the M, J, K, L, U, I, O, 7, 8 & 9 4-digit keys (embedded numeric keypad) for the special symbol, you are looking and and release Alt.

    Does that help?

    Kind regards.

  • the numeric keypad keys do not work

    A little different problem here:

Just bought my dv7-1030eb. On this keyboard is QWERTY Belgium (well, i live in Belgium, so it's OK)

Unfortunately, the numeric keypad keys work except for the top 4 (home, end, pgup and pgdn).

Result: I can not activate Numlock.

Trying to connect an external keyboard and activate Numlock.

On the external keyboard, everything works as expected.

On the keyboard internal, still no light locking num (below altec lansing logo), and yet only four albums keys (home, end, pgup and pgdn) operational.

It is also a diagnostic message?

A reply to a message on the page, message 4 @BernsBelgium

It is a problem, that I was just trying to solve on a dv7-1002.

I found that the solution has been updated of the bios.

I was on a version very early and found that I had to do incremental updates. From the one after the current bios, if you try to jump the updates, it fails to the version checks and gives an error "is not any ROM file in this directory"".»

Keys num started working after about five updates and continued to work for the rest. I had to do about 10 updates to get the current bios. The keys are now working very well.

    Hope this helps someone else.

  • PS2 Keyboard and mouse hooked after XP SP3 installed

Upgrade to SP3.  Keyboard works very well to get into the BIOS.  F8 works very well to get to choose the Safe Mode, and al. or not.  Once XP takes control, the keyboard and mouse are unresponsive.  Mouse move the pointer on the screen, the keyboard will not activate numlock or other keys LED.  Power - off only option.  Tried other keyboards and other mouse.  No go.

Any ideas?  Perfect condition ' puter til SP3!

I said nothing about "of special drivers', I suggested seeking & install the updated drivers. If none is available, there is a very good chance that your older equipment of keyboard and mouse is not supported in WinXP SP3.

Free installation and unlimited compatibility support for WinXP SP3 is available since April 14, 2008 to May 2009. This support will cost U.S.$ 59 or by higher incident now.

  • Num Lock is a sentient being who turns off constantly

My num lock turns off randomly, without any reason. I don't accidentally turn it off. Also, I have to turn it on whenever I start the computer. I do not EVER turn off my caps lock. Someone at - it answers?

It is a sentient being? RUN FOR THE HILLS!

You could have the numlock setting in the BIOS the value not to activate numlock when you start your computer. Regarding the turn off itself, I have no idea.

  • Where is NUM LOCK on your laptop please?

Don't know how but I lost NumLock on my laptop.  I know it's silly, but I can't get back.  Help please!

He lost? do you mean forgotten the sequence of keys to activate NumLock on, or that it does not work when you press the keys?

To activate the lock digital power will probably depend on your brand and model of laptop. On mine for example its and together (the real and the supported at the same time).

  • My Razer BlackWidow keyboard is send me lock screen problems

I recently bought a Razer BlackWidow Ultimate (mechanical keyboard). I installed the Win8 drivers supported. I installed the Razer Syanapse 2.0. I use the Pro Win8.

When I start up and connect by using my password, all works well. The problem is when I use Win + L to lock my computer. Whenever I try to re - open a session, I have problems. My password has a 'u' in there and when I press it, the Accessibility Options menu appears. The only way for me to overcome it must activate NumLock shift and hold while I'm typing it. This way he types always a tiny 'u', but the menu isn't pop up.

Is there another way to get around this? Is there a way to disable the menu accessibility on the lock screen? Or maybe even disable total Accessibility Options?

Just tried re-installation of Synapse but close it (click right on the icon in the notification area and close) then go in the Manager of tasks (ctrl-shift-escape) and in the tab startup and disable Razer Synapse. Around 20 or if the locks so far and no keys care. This could be the best interim solution in the moment.

This way if it is necessary to reprogram the Synapse open finish the work and then close it completely new.
