Activation of Windows 8 key problem!

Dear Microsoft and readers,

Laptop: DELL Inspiron. Started with Windows 8, never updated to 8.1.

Background: I have a serious problem. You see, my laptop crashed a few days ago on me. I had several have crashed in the past with this blue screen popping up, but it was something very new. The Blue Screen of Death popped up while I was watching something on the Internet, my laptop started to reboot just like the screen popped up again. Eventually he went into that mode, and I was able to restart. ... Failed. I was forced to go to a local technician, and after several attempts to try to restore backups, we decided all of this screw and install on a disk, a Windows 8 Professional installation. Have downloaded successfully, but there was a problem. I had lost my original key for Windows 8, and it keeps telling me to activate my Windows key.

Question: Now don't get me wrong, I am against digital piracy, but I was ready to use activation keys already out there, to realize it wouldn't work. You buy a new Pack of Windows? Oh come on, 80 pounds for a key? That is absolutely ridiculous! I can't find my old key as it is erased from my laptop now, I don't think it's on the BIOS. Is it possible to recover if? I mean, I'm not sure if it is displayed correctly, but are there? I need help with this, maybe there is a way to get a new one without having to pay for it even ONCE? What do I need to contact someone, such as Microsoft? Or Dell? I could do pretty much on my Service tag using dashes, it is 76c9JV1, there may be a way to get on Dell and find it from there? Please help me here.

Yours Sincerely,

Miron.

With Windows 8, Microsoft changed stickers that have the product key that the user must type in during the installation of the operating system of new embedded BIOS product key. The idea is that by eliminating the tile, you eliminate one of the easiest ways for nefarious users get a legitimate product key. The sticker also eliminating product key removes any concern that the vignette could get damaged while at the same time eliminating the long and irritating the process of typing in various letters and numbers in the installation of the operating system.

If the user has to reinstall the operating system on a computer with Windows 8, the installation process automatically captures key software product of the motherboard BIOS without input from the user. This means that these stickers familiar windows product key will no longer appear on Windows 8 computers.

When activating my windows vista ultimate product, I get the response that the license key is already in use, let me know how to solve this problem?

    KiranS Hello,

Judging by your post, it seems that Microsoft had technical problems when you tried to activate your copy of Vista by phone. Have you tried phoning the line Activation again?

The normal procedure is that if the activation fails through the automated system, the call is transferred to a real person. It is the only available option if you get the error 'use existing product key'.

I can only suggest that you try again the activation by phone and see what happens.

  • I have a valid license for Windows XP key code, so why the system tells me it is not currently active or real?

    Windows has no

I had to spend my PC this morning. Moving it, I decided to implement a new network card. When I reconnected it all the cables, I plugged my USB mouse on another USB port where it had been plugged in before. The computer is more than 7 years old and I've never had a problem with the front Windows Validation. I have a valid license for Windows XP key code, so why the system tells me it is not currently active or real?

When Windows checks to see if you have moved your copy of Windows to "another computer", among other things, that his focus on the identification of several strands of material in the computer to see if they are different than when Windows was first installed.  I do not remember the list for now, but I remember that the network card is one of the pieces - and IIRC it is 'valuable' higher than others to reach the conclusion.

You probably other elements has changed over the past seven years and now Windows has decided to have a "new" computer  Assuming that you haven't changed the motherboard - if you had, you would have had this issue at the time wherever you did--your installation is still legal.  Reactivate using your original license key. It should work online, but you will need to call the number that appears in the error message from re - validate.

  • Windows Home Premium Activation accepting not product key

I recently met a problem on one of my kids computers that I can't fix.  I have recently reinstalled Windows Vista on this computer, I did because I bought Zoo Tycoon Ultimate Collection (a game of Microsoft), and it has simply refused to work on this computer.  I finally cracked and re-installed Windows Vista (you can read the entire saga here)http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistagaming/thread/9ae7f7e3-eb92-4a36-9095-fe16f5a8ce38/#9284ac2b-a853-4366-bed6-e725de40347d.  As my child was cheerfully playing Zoo Tycoon and his other games, things be deleriously happy for a fortnight.

Today, however, the computer started and indicated that Vista should be activated.  I have several legit don't produce key for Vista, but none of them are accepted.  The only options I'm offered are to enter a new product key, to buy a product key or ask Microsoft for help.

I tried to re - install Windows Vista from the CD but I received a message saying that I need to install Vista from the current operating system, but of course when I start now it goes directly to the registration form.

Any help would be appreciated, I literally installed Vista five times on this computer in order to get Zoo Tycoon to work and Im staggered by my inability to operate and the challenges, I continue to turn in (I could easily write a book on what not to do at this point).

Your retail Windows disk is almost certainly an upgrade disc?
If you start the computer for Windows, then use the Windows upgrade disk, you can always opt for a Clean installation / Custom from there, using your upgrade key (assuming your drive and the key are Home Premium or higher), or you should be able to do a normal upgrade (effectively a reinstallation) , which keeps whatever other apps you have already installed and your data (but an external backup is always a good idea in any case!).

Honestly, it looks that your system needs a new reinstall of Windows 7. It should reinstall applications such as Microsoft Office and drivers for devices such as your scanner, printer. If you wish not to do this, follow these steps:

Check your hard drive for errors:

    Click Start

Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD

    Click on "Run as Administrator"

At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /f /r

When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and will try to correct them.

    then

    Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
    Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: sfc/scannow
This will check for any breach of integrity

    Restart your system

Also to perform a clean boot and see if things improve:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

You should also check to see if you have installed any rogue programs:

Click Start, type: programs and features

    Press enter

See the list and uninstall programs, you are sure that you may not be installed.

  • Activation of Windows 7 on an SSD with the same product key.

Hello, here is my situation (I've seen another thread like this but I have more specific questions)

I have a laptop and it was the key to license Windows 7 Pro SP1.

I recently bought an ssd and learn all about meet the key but I guess I was happy to install the SSD so I forgot to Deauthorize the key.

I installed the SSD on the same computer laptop and use the same key to activate a few moments ago.

It seemed to have worked, but he's coming back to haunt me in the future? Or I'm good?

You could say that I activating me the part on the same physical machine and therefore, exercise was not necessary?

    Thank you

As long as the old hard drive is removed from the laptop, you should have no problem.

If you want to go a little further temporarily remove it the SSD drive, connect the hard disk, the boot of Windows (does not need to be connected to the Internet) and open a prompt (run as administrator) and quick entry:

slmgr - upk and press the Enter key

Wait a few seconds for the command to run, and then quit the command prompt.  The option - PUK uninstalls your product key from the hard drive.

Shut down the computer, remove the hard drive, install the SSD drive and your all ready for departure.

  • Activation for Windows 7 problem

Bought a new computer and the store loaded on 64-bit OEM Windows 7 Home Premium.

They do not activate it but gave me the box with the DVD inside and outside (in very small print) are the product key.
When I enter the product key in an attempt to activate the software, I get a message telling me I entered the product key is not valid.
I am sure the software and product key are authentic. However, before that I tried to activate Windows I downloaded a number of Windows updates. These would make my unusable product key?
