I just installed Dirt 3 on my new computer, when you are prompted to log in to my Live account. I put in my info, then the code of the key to the game. She then returned and say my account does not exist or my password is incorrect. After trying twice more I came here.  It is the same account and password that I use here.

    I'll start from the beginning.

Some time ago a friend bought a game for me (Dark Souls prepare to Die Edition) by Toys R us as a gift. I needed to connect with GFWL to save progress. I did, using my XBOX Live account. I played 40 hrs of this game, my PC is dead. It was during the summer 2014.

Fast forward to now, I reactivated my Windows Live account and tried to install the game in my new computer. After that I set my account sign in problems (had to change my password three times until he acknowledged) the error message I now get it that the product key is registered to a different Windows Live account.

No one knew that STEAM has been and has not yet recognize that GFWL is actually managed by Xbox apparently (have concluded that myself). I know GFWL is now active, BUT I'm always supposed to be able to access my game.

  • Sign in to Skype without using a microsoft account

I seconded on behalf of Microsoft, but there doesn't seem to be an option to SAVE the setting. So, whenever I'm back in Skype via the Microsoft account. What I did is to get a new laptop. I won't connect to Skype via Microsoft account because my account Skype has my contacts, etc., and also when someone calls me the Skype account with Microsoft is not ringing or connect, it goes to my phone.

    Hi KW15,.

Have you tried to link your Skype account with your Microsoft account?

    1. Connecting to your Skype on web browser using your existing Skype account which has all your contacts
    2. Go to my account > settings and preferences > account settings
    3. Link to the Skype account that has all your contacts with your Microsoft Account

  • How to find the name of Microsoft Account of Skype contact?

    Hello

I would like to move some of my business contacts to Lync 2013 which basically supports adding Skype contacts, but he needs the Microsoft Account of this contact. How can I know the Microsoft Account a person in my Skype contacts list? I'm sure that one or other of the people on the list has decided to use his Account MS to connect to Skype, but when I open the page of profile suspects with the help of this option , I see not their Skype name.

    Thanks for your help

As far as I know, the only option to add Skype contacts to Lync is using their email address. This must be the same address that contacts were used to create the Microsoft account.

This e-mail address is not in their profile, so you'll need to ask them to provide you with this address.

Also, Skype users will only see their Lync contacts when connected with its account of Microsoft. Lync contacts will not appear when you are signed in with the Skype name.

  • Recovery of Microsoft account details from a phone to reset.

    Hello

I am new here, first post and all. Due to a boot loop issue I had to reset my mother's hard phone. Naturally, all data has been removed from the reset. I bought the phone and used it myself for a few months before handing over to my mother. But I can't seem to remember the account details (address, email, etc) I used to set it for her. The only thing that I can provide are the phone IMEI code.

This phone is not stolen. I can validate this information with reception, that I got with the phone from Flipkart. I really want to get the contacts of my mother.

If Microsoft would be kind enough to consider this issue and provide me with a way to get this account, it would be great.

Again, I can provide all the necessary details to verify the validity of the owner of the phone. I'd like to think that there is little hope to resume and that the account is not completely lost. If nothing else, it would be great if the community could provide me with an e-mail address for Microsoft technical support (preference since most of the necessary details should be provided require privacy). I live in India and I prefer email to phone calls.

In all, any help is appreciated.

    Thank you!

It does not exist, Microsoft does not store that.  The only way to get it is to know the username (e-mail address).  Then, it is easy to reset the password.

  • Microsoft Account: Not available for the New Alias Email

    Hello!

I try to add a new email address as an alias on my Microsoft account. The email that I would use previously has been associated with another Microsoft account, but long since I disabled the account. I tried to add to this email and received this message: "this e-mail address is already taken. Please try another. "Thinking that I can not properly deactivated this account, I tried to reconnect, only to be told that this account was no longer in existence. I tried to make a NEW account with this email (to see if it works), and once more, I was told that the enamel is already associated with an account. Any suggestions on how I can add this email to my checking account?

  • How to remove existing administrator account?

    Original title: deleting existing administrator

I need to remove the existing administrator so that I can work on this computer. I do not have the operating drive

    Hi Charles,

    1. have you created existing administrator account?

We should have at least one account of administrator user on the computer. To remove a user admin account, you should have another administrator user on the computer account. If you have one, and then you connect to it and delete the other admin user account.
    See remove a user account

If you don't have another administrator user account, and then start the computer in safe mode to access the default Admin user account and to delete the existing admin user account. To do this, try the following steps:
    a. start your computer and press the F8 key to display the advanced startup options.
Hit and b. Select safe mode enter.
    c. connect on the default administrator user account.
    d. remove the existing admin user account.

Note: Can not remove the default administrator user account.

  • Two Microsoft Accounts - can I transfer data or merge accounts (and then remove one of them)?

Bought Compaq laptop windows 8 months... There is setup with the microsoft account.  Then created another account to microsoft and I don't need another, but both are run separately on my laptop.  And data, skydrive, e-mail are separated by Microsoft account.  Don't need thre original Microsoft account by I want all data under this one and access the skydrive created in one.

    Hello

It's something to do with Microsoft and the answer is No, you cannot merge Mocrosoft accounts:

"Please note that we do not have a feature of the"fusion"of accounts. Reading your post, I realized that you want to just create your outlook account as an alias to your account to edu for a shorter address. Unfortunately, you can just create aliases that are not existing or registered in the system. You can delete your outlook account, but you will have to wait a year to make it available for use (as an alias) once you have deleted the account. "

  • How can I determine the name of my exchange e-mail server: I try to add an e-mail account. in Windows Mail, running Windows Vista on a Compaq Presario

    Here are the details:

I have Windows Mail installed on my PC and you want to add an e-mail account.  The issue started when I was trying to send a document I had picked up on a website and received an error message there was a problem with POP3.  Then, I tried to set up an e-mail account and after that following instructions was puzzled because I didn't know the name of the exchange server.  I am running Windows Vista on a Compaq Presario.

I first contacted my internet framework, which is Charter Communications and they referred me to Microsoft, which, in turn, was told to contact Charter Communications, call the Compaq or come to this site.  At this point, I'm a little frustrated.

    Hello

If you are tring to add an e-mail account in Windows Mail, you get the settings from your ISP (Charter Communications), then follow the information from Microsoft on how to implement.

    You need the Charter:

    1. your username with them

    2. your password with them.

    3. incoming for them mail server.

    4. the outgoing e-mail server for them.

    Charter e-mail settings:

    http://www.myaccount.Charter.com/customers/support.aspx?supportarticleid=1417

Then follow the steps to set up Windows Mail:

    * O.T. > fictitious user account deletion

I have windows 7, on reboot, a fictitious user account appears.  I remove it in the (add or remove user account) article, but upon reboot, it is always.  How can I remove it permanently?

    Hi Ewa,

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem. However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.

    1. You created this account, or he came to his own?
    2. You share this computer with another person?
    3. You did it all change important before the show?

If this user account is not created by you, then it might be the virus/malware. So, I suggest you run a full scan using the Microsoft Safety Scanner (MSS) to ensure that the computer is virus-free.

The Microsoft Safety Scanner free is a downloadable security tool that allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malicious software. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Get back to us with all the necessary information and the result of the proposed suggestion. We will be happy to help you further.

  • Are there fees for adding a payment method for my Microsoft Account?

If I add a new payment method will I will I be charged any amount or be required to make a purchase?

N ° you can add a new payment method and can make purchases at any time in the future. Microsoft doesn't charge you added a mode of payment to your Microsoft Account. However, we may hold an equivalent amount of $1 on your credit card. This expectation that will be released in 1 to 5 days from the date where you saved your credit card with Windows Store.  (Time varies depending on each bank's rules).  If you add another mode of payment such as PayPal, there is no authorization charge.

  • Why I have to connect to microsoft account with my password of microsoft just started my computor

I just bought a new laptop which has windows 8.  Whenever I start it, I need to access my Microsoft account with my password of Microsoft just to get to my office at the top of the page. When I go to user accounts is the only option that I change my password for Microsoft, I don't see an option to do not use a password at startup.  My concern is: I will lose my current email address due to move it to another location and may not be able to take it with me.  Microsoft will not allow me to rename my account and my email will no longer be associated with this account. If I lose my microsoft account, I'm afraid that I could not simply start this computer without a password for the account of miscrosoft.  I am the only user on this computer and I would like to be able to turn it on without using a password.  I hope someone can help

    Hi Ronald,.

With Windows 10, you have an option to sign in using your Microsoft account or just use a local account. Skip option is just below the part of the Microsoft account login. After ignoring, you will be asked to create a local account. If you don't have a password for your local account the first time that you set up, you will not receive a prompt to enter a password the next time that you open a session.

At this point, you can try to remove the local account existing instead and create a new one without a password. So, let us know how it goes. If you encounter the same problem, it will be better if you could provide a screenshot.

    Kind regards.
