Adding a 3rd drive at 204 ReadNAS (1660 hours)

Hello

I got a 204 ReadyNAS and Red nine WD 5 to 2. Install two discs took NAS 16 hours. After that, I copied 5 TB of data (95% full) on the NAS. After that, I inserted a Green 5 TB WD in the Groove 3. It is said redesign of the data will take 1660 hours (a week). After 24 hours it says 17.5% in fact, it seems quite accurate. Is it normal for a system like this?

Greetings

Wolfgang

You still have this problem after updating to 6.5.0?

How did you add it? Where's the hardware mounting hard disk? In any State of cause, assuming that you have installed a hard drive was bought, it would be empty and needs be initialized (mounted) and formatted. To find computer or this PC in the right click menu... Choose manage, disk management and you will see a Visual representation of the hard drives. It can automatically prompts you to initialize the disk. Once do you that and format it in ntfs and assign a drive letter and the name of the volume, it will appear in the computer as a lettered drive.

Hello. I installed the trial versions of 2014 CC Photoshop and Lightroom 5.6 (ie the plan of photography) on a desktop computer that I've added a new drive in Windows 7. Everything works fine BUT it's an old computer and I think he could pack up unexpectedly. These things are happening. I want to sign up for the plan of photography but I also a Windows Vista laptop, and it's old too so I can put apps on a new office and a new laptop computer, after you have already installed on my desktop. That is why three activations. Am I allowed to do? See you soon. Paul

You can't have three activations. It is simply not possible technically. If and when the time comes, just disable you / disconnect is on one of the old systems and install it on the new. If the system goes belly up, you contact support to reset your account. No need to make it more complicated than that and resist it.

  • ReadyNAS 204 - adding 2 new drives

    Hi all

I have a RN204 (OS v6.4.2) currently with 2 x 3 TB WD red inside. Everything is good, and I have a RAID 1 of 2.72 TB volume - looks as X-RAID also.

I've now bought another 2 x 3 TB WD red. My questions are the following:

    1. in the event that their add to the volume existing 1 at a time? Adding the 2nd time the Unit completed the resynchronization or whatever after the addition of the 1st disk.

    2. should I turn off the unit before you add the new disks?

I have still no data on the NAS.

Please indicate what is my best way...

    Kind regards

    Ian

Add the drives one at a time with the unit on.

Wait for the resynchronization to complete for the first disc before adding the second.

  • Adding 3rd drive but not RAID?

I have a TS200V with 2 x 250 GB drives in a RAID configuration. Can I add a separate 500 GB drive, but NOT add it to the controiller raid itself? As a standalone player? I'm new to RAID not too sure if this is possible. Or the question of whether the TS200V has same slots for additional disks.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Server does support RAID 0/1 only.

There are instead of using the 3rd HARD drive inside.

  • Adding a 3rd hard drive to my system

    Hello

    My CS5 system has 3 'disks '.

    (1) system C:

    (2) D: DVD

    (3) raid E:

I want to add a hard drive to the foregoing to other data, such as images, big data (including some Digital Juice files)

My motherboard is an ASUS P6X58D Premium LGA 1366

I see two main cables coming out of it.

#1 cable is plugged into my system C: drive

#2 cable is plugged into my DVD drive

How can I add a 3rd disc - or is this not possible with the ASUS P6X58D Premium LGA 1366.

Is there some kind of a "splitter" or connector, I can add to either the mother board #2 cable / connection that will let me add a 3rd hard drive?

  • Adding a 3rd HARD drive to my Pavilion elite m9150f

I have a Pavilion Elite m9150f with a motherboard Asus IPIBL-LB. I have 6 sata ports, but only 4 are currently used. It has Vista Home Premium 32-bit running 2 HARD sata drive seagate 360 with a partion recovery and 2 CD/DVD players. I would add a Seagate 2 TB sata as main drive (C) both a bigger partion (posibly update of OS in the future) 20 to 25 GB for recovery (D) copied to starting from the origanal and reformat it as a temp for videos, etc. I can do this by moving the SATAS after the cloneing and move the optical drives and see MOBO them without having to make all kinds of changes to the BIOS. Thanks for any advice in doing so.

    Hello

If you have already two drives hard and two optical drives, then you will have a hard time to find a place inside the PC to secure the third hard disk.

You could try to use a 5.25 "to 3.5 adapter railsand then fix them and the hard drive down inside the PC. Another option would be to expand the two ports of the vacant motherboard to the I/O back plateand use a drive external eSATA dockthat could accommodate two hard disks that are either 2.5 "or 3.5" or a combination. That would give you great flexibility for the exchange of different hard drives while appearing that they are installed in their own country.

You should be able to use a hard drive imaging product to the new hard drive the current boot drive. If you use VISTA then I would avoid using a disc hard format model advanced unless you know for sure that the disc produced Imaging align correctly partitions. In any case, if you use VISTA then upgrade to service pack 2 and run this update Intel utility before you install the new hard drive. Utility update driver Intel Intel Driver Update Utility level Bios 5.43is the latest bios for your PC.

I use Paragon Hard Disk Manager Suite(eval copy) to make the imagery of my hard drive, but there are other products available. Macrium Reflectand Acronis are also good products.

  • Satellite P300-16 t - adding a second drive HARD-success!

I have added a second hard drive today for my Toshiba P300-16 t.

I realized that I had a Toshiba SATA drive in a USB disk device that would spare - 250 gb.

I improvised by removing the feet spread on the cover of the second cage to hard disk using a sharp knife. I put the Bank in place ensuring maximum safety. I also used a heat-resistant material (say what) to secure the drive up as readers are rarer than hen's teeth. I made sure that the reader also had room to breathe. The cover was then released and I turned on my computer and it found the new HDD, the installed drivers at home but hey presto! Another 250 GB to play with.

Now, I did it is because I call four FSA in the United Kingdom but they weren't any help by providing a cage for the second disc.
Two said they only deal with businesses and not individuals.
Others have said that they only provide power cables and batteries!
Hope that my Tosh never goes down and I must use their services...

Anyway, I don't recommend anyone do what I just - it is possible if you are a bit adventurous...

    Have you used the Hotglue?

Surely, you can get the FSA HARD drive media. Unless there is a global shortage on cradles P300: p

    Hello

Look in to the new hard drive disk management.  To use the full capacity of the drive, you'll need to be initialized and he the GPT format.  Don't forget to assign a drive letter and a volume name.  In addition, make sure that the drive appears as online and not in offline mode.

The new dvd player is there but not the hard drive.

Access the "computer management / Disk Management Console" and initialize the disk. See http://www.brighthub.com/computing/hardware/articles/22069.aspx for more information, if necessary.

  • Backups of Server 2008 R2 running slowly after deleting failed drive and adding new USB drive replacement

We had a disk which is used for our backups on one of our servers using a USB docking station.

(We use 5 x external hard drives for our backup schedule).

I removed the defective drive and added a new using the correct wbadmin command.

Now, everything works fine except that the backup now ends at 0831 considering that with the old disk, it would end to 0600.

There is no any difference about this disc is in the USB docking station - it's just to take 2.5 hours more than previously on all players.

    Starting backup to 2100.

What can I do to bring it back up to its initial speed?

    Thanks in advance,

  • Ran memory hard drive, added a hard drive and hopeing I can combine somehow.

I have added a second hard drive with XP on it. I have the second disk set to CSEL. I have a gateway pc. It appears in Device Manager. I was hopeing to combine them, a bit like you can do with vista. I put in wrong place

If the primary transmission is set to Cable Select, you have set the jumperr on the extra disc correctly.

If the primary transmission is set to master, you must assign additional drive SLAVE jumpers

Assuming that both show in BIOS, Device Manager and Windows Explorer, you cannot combine the two discs.

What you can do is freshly format additional drive and then move all files data yourr on him... Mike Hall MVP - Windows Desktop Experience http://msmvps.com/blogs/mikehall/

  • PERC H330 and Raid 5, try adding another SATA drive raid 5 array

    Hi all

I have one server PowerEdge T330 with 8 slots of disc and have currently 3 SATA drives running a raid 5 configuration.  I have a virtual disk configured for Raid (must).

The operating system recognizes the disk and is able to use the resources...

My desire is to add another hard drive to the table (hard disks of the same size, same brand, etc.) with 4 disks without losing any data.

I looked in the settings of the iDrac and the only adjustment was to add the new disk as a global hot spare or a hot spare dedicated to the virtual drive.

I also looked in the BIOS and do not see a way to add the new drive.

Does anyone know how to increase capacity?  I can blow the virtual drive if necessary and start over without problem.  I intend to gradually accomplish this Act until adding 8 disks. (5 times).

    Help!

    Hello.

Management controllers RAID and tables is not made in the BIOS iDRAC or systems. For the management of the RAID (virtual disks) arrays, you have OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA). If not installed, see the link: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=TK61C once installed, go to-> Storage->-> H330 PERC controllers-> virtual disk--> sub tasks available-> select reconfigure and run-> then check a box to add the fourth disk on the next page. Follow the prompts and allows you to extend your range of RAID 5.

  • Adding 2nd hard drive for Dell E310

    Hello

I recently made some updates to my E310 and, until I got to the point where I was adding the second hard drive, everything went well.

First of all, nobody in my local computer store knew of the blue Paw was to add 2nd hard drive; They suggested screw. This isn't the first hard drive I have installed, even if it is the first in my Dell. After my third attempt of Googling, I struck gold - a post in the forum explaining that support is needed and a telephone number to order. I am so grateful for this response.

I read in similar positions and before putting the drive in I want to understand what is needed after the physical installation. This player will not hold the OS (XP Media), but held the whole image, music, and various files. Still must the player be partitioned and formatted using disk management I read in another post? I understand that I must go into the Bios to activate the second hard drive, so to speak. Is this similar to enter the CMOS? Would you be able to provide clear instructions?

Is there anything else I should do to get the new HDD to be operational?

Thank you for your time and thanks to the person who posted this phone number.

    CS.
