I have configured my aspire laptop windows 8 v5 upward with the local rights administrator account when it was new, then I change the name for the local and updated account updated to 8.1 windows is when I lost the admin rights.

is it possible to run a factory restore and put in place and I therefore again administrator rights.

To reset your windows PC 8 with administrator rights, you can follow the mentioned below as follows:

  • Removal of administrator rights

    Hello

If I delete my account Admin rights after you create another admin account, in order to continue to use my ex-admin account now for everyday tasks, will I have problems?

    So, to summarize:

    (1) create an admin account for changes in the system etc.

    (2) remove the usual account administrator rights (let's call it "Account BOB," for example) which, until now, had administrator rights

    (3) continue using BOB account for daily tasks

Purpose of the entire operation: ad extra security level.

    Thank you!

    • Administrator: an administrator can add and manage other users, install applications, and change the settings. The new user that you create when you set up your Mac is an administrator. Your Mac can have multiple administrators. You can create new ones and convert standard users to administrators. Don't set up the automatic connection to an administrator. If you do, someone could simply restart your Mac and access with administrator privileges. To secure your Mac, don't share administrator names and passwords.
  • FAQ (27): the SDM requires administrator rights to run?

When I launch SDM, it happens with this dialog box. Is this normal?

Yes. SDM requires administrator rights because it requires the appropriate rights to update or apply SoftPaq updates to your computer.

The above message appears only if UAC (User Access Control) is turned on and that the user doesn't have administrator rights. For more information about UAC, please visit this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Account_Control

UNFORTUNATELY, the SDM version 3.5.0.0 (later from this post) has a problem where it wrong will not recognize the user as administrator if UAC is enabled.

If you have the SDM version 3.5.0.0, have active UAC and you are logged on under an account that has administrator rights and SDM displays the dialog box above, please note that this is a bug found ONLY in the SDM 3.5.0.0 version and will be fixed with the next version.

In the meantime, there are two solutions we can suggest you to work around this problem:

    (1) Although not recommended, you can disable UAC and reboot for the changes to take effect. We do not recommend this approach because UAC protects the computer against attacks. We include this option only for purposes of completeness.

    2) RECOMMENDED WORKAROUND: Force MDS to start with administrator right.  To do this, please follow these steps to work around the problem, until a new version of SDM is available:

    1. Open Windows Explorer.
    2. Go to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Hewlett-Packard\HP SoftPaq Download Manager. Note: If you have a 32-bit operating system, navigate to C:\Program Hewlett-Packard HP SoftPaq Download Manager.
    3. Right click on the file "SoftPaqDownloadManager.exe".
    4. Select "Run as Administrator" from the context menu.

  • Need administrator rights for the Intel on Satellite Pro 2100 speed step

    Hello
    I have a Satellite PRO 2100 (Pentium 4 1.9 GHz).
I have a problem with the function of the Intel speed step, which reduces the speed of the processor at 1.2 GHz. But I have a problem: I can do this, if I use an administrator account...
After starting, if I connect with a simple user account, the Intel speed step works... and the speed of the cpu remains at 1.9 GHz.
So I would like to use this function with a simple user account, how do I do it please?

    Thanks for your help :)

    Hello

As far as I know that this application is not shipped with the image of Toshiba and it s not made not part of the image.
But I put t see any big problems. You will need to change your account administrator rights. In this case, you will need to ask someone the admin right to edit your account.

The other possibility is to change the law for this software. There can be changes as by admin. What you can change in the Security tab in the program properties. Full control must be set to all.

Then, it should be possible to use this application with your account.

I never have this problem on other portable Toshiba (Tecra A4, S2, M1...) Please help :-)

What about the case is clear, if the user wan to access the flash memory module inserted that he needs an admin rights

What you could do is to assign admin rights only for this particular application, which is responsible for flash memory.

I put t know exactly what applications it is but I guess on these program needs the right admin; Memory card SD, SD memory boot utility, format etc.

To assign the authorization right right click on the applications and select Properties.
Here, you have to choose the call of the Security tab.
Then select the user and allow the full control option.

  • Administrator rights for administrators?

My Ex bf changed the administrator rights for administrators and has my Pc a mess... Is it possible to fix this easily? Help!

    Hi vc.

I then this Windows security and users of the Forum where experts may be able to offer a less radical solution.

For example, you tried to activate the hidden administrator account (it cannot not thought to change (if he could)) and it might be possible to use it to restore things to normal (depending on what has been done) in a much simpler way.

There may be other options too (or a relocation can be justified) according to what has been done and which means "my PC is a mess."  Could you please provide more details, including your operating system?

    Thanks and good luck!

  • Cannot delete the account of a user with administrator rights

I want to remove a user who has administrator rights account.  Win XP machine has two users (Administrator and a user name) that both are of type of administrator account.

I you as an administrator and should be able to change the other named to Limited user account, but for Limited is greyed out.  The option to delete the named account is not present.

How can I delete this account, leaving only administrator?

Often, I find that using the command line commands gives errors better when you can not do something.  Try the following:

    o bring a window prompt (start-> Run-> "cmd")

o enter the following command in the window:

    net localgroup administrators

o that it must return a list of all users with administrator privileges.  You should see the built-in user 'Administrator' and your other user (assuming that both have administrator privileges).  To remove administrator privileges from the user (assuming that this another username is "Joe"), then enter the following command:

    net localgroup administrators Joe/remove

If this is not possible, an error no doubt will provide you with enough information.

  • Removal of administrator rights local users

I have a domain network with about 25 workstations XP.  Currently, they are all local admin users.  We want to try to stop their loading of software approved and other junk.  Can I remove the local administrator rights and do just a standard user?  If they are set as a standard user is the Windows Installer always updates without entering a password for the admin?  Furthermore, what about Java and Adobe updates?  What is the best way to handle this?

    Thank you

    Hi scs-04,.

The environment in your comptuers is an area and to talk to people who know how to deal with different domain related issues, I suggest you send your query in the Technet forums. Here is the link:

  • Addition of administrative rights: why such a headache?

So I found these instructions for adding administrator rights to my user name, but it does nothing.  I added the user, but still I can't yet change my Hosts file in System32.

    Right click on my computer
    Click on manage
    Expand local users and groups
    Click on groups
    Double-click on administrators
    Click Add
Enter the name of the account on this machine that you want to assign administrator privileges for.
    OK your way back.

These instructions are correct for XP SP3?  When I go to administrators in the group I see my username in the box as well as the administrator.  In the description, it says I have full and unrestricted access.  However, in Documents and Settings, I don't see this user name.

Clear as mud.  Makes no sense to me.

    Can someone please explain this?

What editor do you use to edit this file?  I assume you are using Notepad.  Notepad is really stubborn that way.  Yes, there is a little trick.

To save a file in Notepad without the extension, you must do one
    File-> save as
Then change the 'Type' in 'All Files '.
Then, you must save your file named "hosts".  Note that you must include the period after "hosts", but nothing after the period.  Then, she will save without extension.

Alternatively, you can save the file as "hosts.txt", then rename the file "hosts" in "hosts.old", then rename the file "hosts".txt "hosts".  So, if you want, delete the file "hosts.old".

  • How is - anyone not in it / IS having administrator rights on my work/desktop?

I was the sole owner of the computer (its only 6 months), and the colleague is not even a manager of any kind...
