• Captivate 8: training Interactions do not work when the publication of project

  Hello!

  I use Adobe Captivate 8, and I am running a problem using widgets/training interactions.

  I recently created a training module for my work, and when I publish the project, none of my interactions of training work. My project contains:

  Puzzle

  Glossary

  image zoom

  YouTube video

  None of them work, even if everything else on the project works very well. All slides work well when I preview the project in a browser, but when I open the "index.html" file in the output folder (Yes, I extracted everything first. Still not), widgets, just "loading" for a few moments and then fail. The slide loads normally after trying and then displays normally, but with a blank space where the widget should be.

  I use a responsive project in Windows 7 x 64. I open the file in Google Chrome. I tried several PC and no luck. My main theory is that it is because I am running the file "index.html" locally, rather than first host it on the web. I tried upload on Google Drive to test it from there, but I couldn't open. Do you know of any good method web hosting that I could use to test the slides? Or rather, what methods I could take to ensure my content works correctly when I export?

• Imported Flash interactivity plays not

  I'm trying to import some SWFs of interactivity in Captivate 3. They seem to import correctly, but when I publish the project as they appear--all I get is a blank screen. I created a few test SWF in Flash 8 and these work fine and plays when published in Captivate.
  
  Any ideas? What to do with the Flash Player version that the interactivity SWF is published? It is said that they publish for Flash 9 and I put this in the publication settings in Captivate.

  As an info, Captivate supports load Flash Player 9 but not Actionscript 3.

  If your SWF of interactivity is coded using Actionscript 3, they will need to be reprogrammed as Actionscript 2 before they will work in Captivate.

• Captivate 2 and SumTotal, plays not

  I'm at my wits end! :-) We have implemented just SumTotal for our Organization recently and we have problems with Adobe Captivate 2, which is a software that we use a lot of training. Initially, we had problems with it loading quiz rank for the learner. After I did the research, I found that if you reverse the var g_intAPIOrder = 0; to '1' in the file SCORM.htm it will put a score in the LMS and allow completion. However, that has created another problem for us with the LMS. Now, when the learner begins the training module, the LMS 'pop-up' end box too early. It is said: "You have completed this training module", then a click of the learner 'OK' or 'Cancel '. Now, if the learner clicks on 'Cancel', they can complete the module and the LMS will record the rank, but if they click 'OK', the training ends and does not to the learner to complete the training.
  
  Someone else has encountered this problem... and if so, how do solve you this problem?

• Captivate 8 widget printing does not print in landscape. impressions full resolution of the project and not only the certificate?

  I'm new to Captivate and am responsible to learn how to use Captivate 8.  I must add a certificate of completion at the end of my project and have a lot of questions for which I can't find answers! Please, if anyone can answer these:

  (1) I don't want the certificate to print up to that score the quiz reaches a specific minimum - for example, you need a score of 80% or more to print a certificate.  How do I do this with the print widget?

  (2) the certificate to print without the slide background and resolution of the project - in other words, I want only the image of certificate (with text added for name box) to print in LANDSCAPE, without the user having to do all the settings on their end (choose the landscape to portrait with their printer).  How is this accomplised?

  (3) I want a date on the certificate - how can I add this specific item?

  Without a widget of certificate and the use of Flash with this version, I'm confused as to how exactly Captivate offers the ability to print certificates?  I don't know of HTML5 and am uneven with Javascript.  Why a feature such as certificates and the ability to print them would be something illegal?  No tutorials, no clear advice exactly get this popular feature of development of training material.  Me think there should be MUCH easier to achieve, but I am confused at this point.

  The solution I found is this:

  Do not use the printing of 8 Captivate widget. It simply does not work the way it should be able to work.  Unless you are able to scripts in Actionscript 2.0 and have access to an old version of Captivate, there is no way to work around this bug.

  The problem I found is 8 Captivate will allow you only to use Actionscript 3.0 in Flash; You can open the widget in Flash, but you MUST open through Captivate first if you intend to use in Captivate.  So, once you open the widget for adjustments through Captivate, it automatically selects AS 3.0 as scripting language to use, no choice is available.  IF you have Captivate 7 or less, however, it allows you to script in AS 2.0.  I didn't, so I can't help you in the widget script.

  What I ended up doing was, I made my own certifcate in Photoshop, saved as a. PNG and added to the last page. Using the internal encoding of Captivate I said the program just go to slide if the quiz was successful.

  Print: Go to the fenΩtre > Skin Editor.  On the left are boxes to check the playback bar options - check out 'Show the Playback Control' and then choose your theme. In the drop-down list, choose 'print '.  If you don't want to do anything else on the playback bar, then select the items; Choose where you want the PlayBar to show (I chose the bottom and down to the Center). See below:

  

  You can see the icons on the bottom, in the Center.  The icon on the left is the button print.  It works well, it can be to make choices print in your local print dialog box.  I have to tell him of the landscape print, for example, otherwise, it prints portrait and too small.  But this does not work, and it solves the problem of non-working widgets impression.

  Help documentation is (at least) very incomplete and not up-to-date in many pages.

  What you want to customize? You can convert a free form of each shape and edit points. If it is not free, many forms have yellow dots to make a first edition in the form. You can style a form with the properties panel. It can be both functional and a container of text and a button. It has 3 States, and unlike old buttons, you can change the label of each State.   I'm trying to insert a YouTube video into Adobe Captivate and publish it. While it previews fine, when I publish it as a SWF, I see just an empty frame.

  Hello Akshay,

  I guess that the method you are using now is integration of Youtube videos into your Web object. My suggestion is that it will be much easier if you use the Interaction of training Youtube instead of a Web object to insert Youtube videos to your Captivate project.

  This can be found in the toolbar of Interactions-> Learning Interactions-> Youtube

  In addition, as Anthony mentioned, please test it on a web server, or a SCORM cloud.

  YouTube interaction works when you export to PDF as well.

My project is not resized when I reduce my page (Internet Explorer 11) or change screen (screen monitor = > laptop screen), the project is so truncated, or elevators appear.

• Adobe Captivate Widgets prevent the timeline stops.

  I noticed a problem with Adobe Captivate Widgets after the Flash play updated to 20.0.0.286. Captivate bars 8.0 and 9.0, Adobe Captivate Widget (and customer bars) prevent the timeline to play and objects on the timeline do not appear on the scene (slide).

  Is there a fix for widgets? If there is no solution, which is a workaround for a widget reading/navigation bar?

  I don't know if there is an easy solution for widgets that do not work with Flash 20 but if it turns that there is no solution, then the solution will be to create your own navigation using standard interactive objects such as buttons, and then click boxes, or preference buttons smart shape on slide master.

  I have 9 Captivate and I use embedded Captivate widgets (not those using assets). I created my project as a project that is sensitive to be able to display in the form of tablets. Captivate told me the widgets are not compatible HTML5. When I publish on my LMS, I can see the widgets and to interact with the course on my laptop via Firefox, but I do not see the widgets in IE 11. Is there a way to get around this, or I must say to my people to download another browser to use my course?

  You need not create a project as a receptive simply to play on tablets or mobile devices.

  If widgets are known to be NOT HTML5 compatible, it is better to not use them at all.  IE11 usually works with the release of HTML5 in Captivate, but your widgets are probably not going to work in this case.

• Adobe Captivate project is published as a PDF print issue

  Does anyone have instructions to print a project, Adobe Captivate imported from a PowerPoint presentation and published in PDF format so that several slides are printed on a single page? It seems that the PDF recognizes the project as a single page and not several pages, so I'm not able to print multiple slides on a single sheet of paper. Appreciate any help.

  There is some confusion: you can publish to PDF, which will result in an interactive pdf.

  If you want to print a file, you must use the file, print. You can choose handouts. But it will be in the word (the model is not very nice).

  I don't have a quiz in my career, but I was able to get mining by setting the last button 'next' in the slide before the last as a set of object quizable to give 1 point in the properties panel for this button. Then, in the editions preferences, I use:

  

  It works for me, but a few LMS are more picky. I had to play with the settings in these panels, until I managed to do it to work with my LMS.
