Adobe Reader DC issue of customization

Hello

I recently deployed Adobe Reader DC in my environment of the company to about 1200 + users. We have about 400 users in this environment Adobe Standard XI, X or Adobe Professional X or XI.

After deploying Adobe Reader DC it now takes on the default file association to open PDF files which is unhappy with the Adobe Acrobat (Standard and Pro users).

Of course to work around the problem we manually value return their product Adobe Acrobat file association.

My question relates to customize Adobe Reader DC package to disable PDF as default if earlier versions of Standard or Pro are found on the computer.

In any case, after reading the document Customization Wizard it says that the following property on the command line should solve this problem... LEAVE_PDFOWNERSHIP = YES

I tried to add this property but it does not have a difference, is there anything else I need to change?

Just to confirm, I am Deploying Adobe Reader DC as a transformation that has been created in the DC Customization Wizard.

Thank you.

I don't know what version is: 15.007. Please try the following steps:

(1) on a Windows 7 machine, which has XI Acrobat installed, copy "AcroRdrDC1501720050_en_US.exe" from: ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/AcrobatDC/1501720050/

(2) open an admin command prompt and run the following command:

AcroRdrDC1501720050_en_US.exe /msi LEAVE_PDFOWNERSHIP = YES/QB

(3) let me know if Acrobat XI is selected as default or CD player becomes the default.

    Hi all!

Now, this is a funny question, we try to deploy the new Adobe Reader software without certain features (i.e. the shortcut on the desktop, disabled EULA) by using the Customization Wizard, but each attempt failed despite checking and rechecking the settings, there always seems to be something wrong with the custom package.

There are the known bugs with the Adobe 9 Customization Wizard when it comes to create a package for the new 9.4.9 Reader?

Mounting far 9.4.0 MSI doesn't have, running the 9.4.0 .exe switch nos_ne and then amending AcroRead.msi also had similar problems.

    Hello

Installation is not personalized according to your settings or the installation fails completely?

Can you try to create a transform and then install Adobe Reader using the created processing.

    1. open Adobe Customization Wizard 9

    2. open the package, i.e. the MSI extracts

    3. change the required settings and click on generate > transform

    4. try to install using the created transformation (xyz.mst) - msiexec /i TRANSFORMS = xyz.mst

  • Adobe Reader customization uninstall previous versions

Hello, I have deployed Adobe Reader XI through Group Policy, Windows Server 2003. I used the Adobe Reader XI customization tool and created a transformation. I left the option checked to uninstall previous versions of the player. Adobe Reader XI installed with all the other settings configured correctly and that were created in the transformation; However, do not uninstall the previous version, Adobe Reader X. Someone at - there experience this problem? If so, how do you have the other version of uninstalled Adobe?

You can view the mst using the Customization Wizard. Load your STDs then go to the online editor and you will see all the tables. Go to the table of 'Property' and you should see the "REMOVE_PREVIOUS" property, and the value must be 'YES '.

  • Adobe Reader 8.2 does not not on Adobe 8 Customization Wizard

I tried to create a transform file to Adobe Reader 8.2 the Adobe 8 Customization Wizard. However, the tool does not generate transformation and seeks the Setup.ini file.

I looked back to the installer that I had and now is a single msi file unlike previous versions that is a Setup.exe compressed that I used to decompress and get the msi file, the cab file and the setup.ini file.

Anyone know how to get the compressed version of Setup.exe of Adobe Reader 8.2 or how it will work with the Adobe 8 Customization Wizard?

I had the same problem at first but then takes the setup.ini file of my package of Adobe Reader 8.1.3 early last year and made a small edit for him. I have the gasket for your reference (renamed .ini in .txt so rename it to use it).

  • Security in adobe reader issue

I downloaded a PDF file to adobe reader, and then saved, now when I try and see, it tells me that the file is secure and "acrobat (which I did not) does not allow the connection to: (a specific Web site). I think I inadvertently said no to a question that popped up on my screen while allowing the file to this particular Web site to do something (?) when I open fist. I think the site could be mentioned in my PDF. I think I may need to take the security out of this Web site, so that I can see the PDF file. How can I fix? The help section was directed to improved security and then the tray to sand-then I was lost? I also deleted the PDF file and re-uploaded and the same thing is there. Help me, please. Thank you.

To reset the warning go to Edition - Preferences - general and click "reset all warnings.

However, you cannot remove a security policy by using the player, but I don't think that was required in this case.

Just click on the button above and then reopen the file and allow it to connect to the server. It is probably part of a DRM protection strategy that requires to communicate with a server online before allowing you to open the file.

  • Download Adobe Reader issue

I can't download Adobe Reader on my PC.  I have Microsoft 7 OS and McAfee Security Scan Plus.  I downloaded Adobe Reader on the other computers in the past but have failed repeatedly with this one!  I continue to receive messages after the download process by telling me there was an error in the process (the error varies).  Help, please...

You can try to use this tool first remove all traces of your computer:

    http://labs.Adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

Then you can download the complete player offline installer from

    http://get.Adobe.com/reader/Enterprise/

After downloading, restart your computer and run the Setup program before anything else.

  • Adobe Reader issues after uninstall

    Screen Shot 2014-04-22 at 3.07.25 PM.png

I have adobe READER of my Mac uninstall.  I needed to complete a job application, but I really didn't have a useless file on my computer.  After I deleted it, whenever I tried to open a PDF file, the image above appeared.  MAC uses the preview to display a PDF file and this is the default value, so I don't know why the file requires adobe, especially since I don't need Adobe to open this file before.

I'm sorry. I didn't know from the information you were trying to open in a web browser.

    Here's a solution:

"Disable the integration of Safari, delete the AdobePDFViewer.plugin from/Library/Internet Plug - ins"

  • Compatibility issue with Adobe Reader XI

Last week, I downloaded the latest update for Adobe Reader Xi and now cannot open files dpf sent me.  Troubleshooter of positions like the application compatibility problem. I fixed ther player application Acobe through my control without any reesolution to the problem file. My system is Windows 7. Should I downgrade to a lower version of Adobe Reader?   .

You can open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try to disable the Protected Mode [Edit |] Preferences | (Improved) security].

If that doesn't help, can you give me more information on this "blue screen"; It's like a BSOD when Windows crashes or something that opens in Windows?

  • Issue of Adobe Reader install

I try to open the Adobe Reader Installer, but I forgot my password.  How can I recover my password or get a new one?

You don't need to install Adobe Reader, a password.

However, if you are not a user administrator, you need to your computer administrator password.

  • Update on Adobe Reader issue

This is the 2nd time I tried to download an update to Adobe Reader that was necessary for reasons of security to PDF files.  When I try to download I get the box indicating that it is downloading, but at the end of an hour, it seems that it's always the download and I am not able to get away from the window, restart the computer or shut down to stop the download process.  It's very frustrating.  What can I do?

Here's the Player downloads, including updates for reader 9: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?platform=windows&product=10

but you might want to just uninstall reader 9 and download and install the latest version of the player.

  • PDF Adobe Reader by default manager process

Currently, we use Adobe Reader XI in a Windows 7 environment but have recently been deploying PowerPDF of shade to complete. Adobe Reader XI is still the default, but some sites have had problems - we found the solution is to open Adobe Reader, select Edition-> general Preferences and click Select Manager of default PDF. This solves our problem by running a Setup program and eventually fix any files have been modified by the PowerPDF, same if PowerPDF was never defined as the default value.

The problem is that we do for over 900 users in several offices. Y at - it a command or an automated way to run this process through Group Policy or a script? It is not as simple to select only a default file association, that he must perform as exactly the processes of whatever by clicking on "select default PDF handler" don't. Thank you!

While comparing registry PowerPDF install vs the default PDF Manager process I think I could find a solution to the issue - it is the result of the install of PowerPDF deletion of a registry key.

With XI of Adobe installed before PowerPDF, the following key exists:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\MIME\Database\Content-MIME/pdf

    It contains the following strings:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\MIME\Database\Content MIME/pdf\Extension: ".pdf".

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\MIME\Database\Content MIME/pdf\CLSID: "{CA8A9780-280D-11CF-A24D-444553540000}.

When installing PowerPDF, I confirmed that the whole key for HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\MIME\Database\Content MIME/pdf is removed, even if PowerPDF is configured to not be by default in the Customization Wizard of their. I could see that running Adobe "Select default PDF Manager" adds the back, the question of fixing. Fortunately, adding back registry keys are an easy solution.

  • When I updated my Adobe Acrobat plug-ins it uninstalled Adobe Reader and installed Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. Can I use Adobe Reader instead?

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Firefox said that my plugin Adobe Acrobat was outdated, so I've updated. It uninstalled my Adobe Reader Version 11.0.12.18 and replaced it with Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 2015.008.20082 DC. I did not like this program, and more I read there are still bugs in there. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled Adobe Reader Version 11.0.12.18. I went into the menu of options of Firefox under applications and changed the options Adobe to use Adobe Reader as the default application for PDF files. It is a safe choice, or should I leave Firefox dictate what PDF program I use? I am concerned about safety issues. Any opinions?

I think that your question has been answered mainly in this thread: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1079182

In my opinion, you can trust Adobe to keep the series XI Reader updated for awhile. It is completely safe is impossible to know, given that vulnerabilities are often discovered and kept secret.
