Æ 6 errors in Maverick: cannot create files in the library.  How can I fix it?

Initially, I installed CS6 Master Collection on Snow Leopard and everything was great.  I just bought a new iMac with Maverick.  I reinstalled my Master Collection CS6 and make me now 2 major mistakes when I open After Effects.  I've updated AE to 11.0.4.2

First error reads as follows:

After effects of warning: directory ' / users/will/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/11.0/Adobe after effects Disk Cache - William Brook iMac (3) .noindex ' could not be created. Please check the rights of protection or permission from parent directory.

The second error reads as follows:

After effects error: unable to write to Disk Cache folder, cache so disk will be disabled. Please check your settings in the media and Disk Cache preferences.

I've updated all programs of the suite.  Everything seems to work very well with others, After Effects only seems to have a (major) problem.

I seem to be able to run AE, but it cannot save the project I'm working on that.

This is the main program, I need to use.  Any advice on how I can solve this glitch to Maverick?

Yes, set the Preferences folder to be writeable by all.

    1. are you referring to any program or folder?

    2 is the limited issue while accessing the hyperlink for any program in particular?

    Try the following and see if it helps.

    Method 1:

     

    Try using the command prompt and try to create a new folder and check if you can create a.

    To do this, follow the steps below:

    a. Click Start.
    b in the start search box type CMD and press to enter.
    c. type cd... publicity and press ENTER, repeat the cd... and press ENTER until you have c:
    d. now, type the following at the command prompt:mkdir folder_name

    Here, folder_name is the name of desired folder

    e. check if the folder is created in the C drive.


    Method 2:

    Try to disable the third-party security software and check.

    Note: If you need to temporarily disable the security software, you should reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.


    Method 3:

    I suggest you perform a SFC Scan and check.

    This problem occurs because there is incorrect entries in the Shell folder of the user who is logged on to Microsoft Windows. When Windows Installer goes to the sale of Shell folder of the user who is logged on to the computer, Windows Installer cannot locate the correct entry. The solution is inhttp://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/886549.

    The steps to correct this problem involve editing the Windows registry.

    WARNING:

    Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk. I suggest that you first back up your registry as follows: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Back-up-the-registry.

    Here are the steps to fix it.

    Step 1:

    c. remove the entries that show the path that is listed in the error message.

    b. type the value name that you want to restore (AppData), and then press ENTER.

    Step 8 KB 886549 suggests that you also check the values in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders. However, by fixing my problem, I had not to change values in the registry key. If this does not work, follow ALL the steps in the referenced article.

    I am running Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 bit on my main PC that uses an SSD. Recently, when I was about to create new profiles of user account for my children, I came across a few connection issues on newly created accounts.
    Here's a breakdown of what exactly is going on:
    1) turn on the computer. Starts Windows normally, auto-journalisation me on my administrator account. Nothing unusual appears, just the regular, the windows desktop and files.
    (2) I go into my control panel (category view) | Accounts of users and parental control-link under click on "Add or remove user accounts". Click on "create a new account | Entered the name (for this example, I'll call it reverse) | Apply the account type "Standard account" | Click on "create account". Close all open windows. Click Start and then click 'Quit' from the menu
    (3) once I clicked on 'Leave', it says "logging OFF... "or something similar, and I just click on the new icon for the newly created account that I just made. Very quickly, the screen flashes "Welcome" then flashes black and then reloads the blue background with the words "Logging Off". It flashes black once again and brings me to choose one account screen, where I see my newly created account and my administrator account
    (4) I try clicking on the icon of the new account again, the same thing is happening. I'm trying to connect to my administrator account, it works perfectly

    (7) I don't have any system on this SSD, the restore points
    8) ran an antivirus scan (although this machine is not connected to the internet that often, mostly used to store local applications for local use)
    I am open to ANY suggestion and someone has solutions capable of solving this new auto account sign out of the question. I'm afraid that the reload of the operating system on my computer is too expensive (data wise) right now. Its connected to a HARD drive with programs.

    Have you tried to create an administrator account?
    If it works, can change you it to a Standard user account?

    Check if the computer browser service and the Server service are started.  If this isn't the case, please start them.

    Check if the different events and error reporting services are started.  If this isn't the case, please start them.

    You remove/tweak the OS installation on the SSD drive?  If some settings have prevented appropriate services of loading (so that the applet of Control Panel does not work)?  If this is the case, I would have to suggest a backup, wipe and a reinstallation of Windows without any adjustment being made (at least until you have setup the Standard user accounts).

    Since you aren't able to add items to the Windows Media Player library, you can follow the below provided not, because this problem can occur because the database to library Windows Media Player corrupt.

    1. click on start.

    2. click on run.

    3. type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player.

    4. click on OK.

    5. Select all files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.

    6 Note you don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    7 restart Windows Media Player and check the error.

    Jim, if this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps,

    Click Start.

    Click run.

    Type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft.

    Click OK.

    Select the Media Player folder.

    Click on Delete on the file menu.

    Restart Windows Media Player.

    Now, Windows Media Player will be automatically rebuilt the database.

    Thank you DVSMSC I missed it - you have reason. Homegroup is introduced in Windows 7 and works in 8 / 8.1 / 10 also, but not back to Vista.

    Do you use mods for this game?
     
    There seems to be a DLL which is used only for debugging, and it should have been removed before the RTM version deployed, but it wasn't and it poses problems for some people. Quite why this causes problems for some people and not others is unknown.
     
    I would recommned you uniinstall and re - install the game.

    Try resort Photoshop preferences to default.

    Steps to follow:

    To re-create the Photoshop preferences files, start the application while pressing Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or command + Option + shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop settings file?"

  • Rundll32.exe: computer says file not found? How can I fix it?

    This is a laptop more old and the system has been upgraded with windows xp home sp3.  The original disc was only XP home sp1. Also, when I go in system32, I see a file that says rundll32.exe. I can't go to one of my utilities such as add/remove programs, information system, catering, etc.  I have laready tried to copy the file from the disk orig by cut & paste, method, but it did not work... Help, please!

  • I get activation errors after a few changes of material/reformatting. How can I fix it?

    In the process of diagnosis of hardware problems, I passed a bunch of components different and reformatted in addition to once, and now I get an error message saying that I'm "installed on too many machines -" even if I use only a copy.   • Now that I have downloaded files in the cloud how can I download them?

    New to this forum so excuse... I have uplaoded the photo files to the cloud of my studio computer. Now at home, I don't see how to download on my desktop at home. I suspect it is very simple but I would appreciate any advice. I use Photshop CS6. Thank you!
