• New version after effects now have a very poor delay with render preview

  Last year only preview rendering After Effects ' seems to have been much worse.

  When I visited a working space, there is a 22 frame delay before the picture becomes visible. Playing audio but the picture is frozen and no shortage on the beginning of the preview.

  It is a known issue with Yosemite on all the versions of AE. Even if you try with CS6, you will still see this problem. If you are using a different operating system, you will not have this problem. It is a problem to Apple; they changed stuff in Yosemite. I'm sure they had their reasons. Until Apple releases a fix (if they ever will be), you're pretty stuck if you can not go back to the Mavericks.

  However, Adobe has a fix in the works. The problem is that the fix is to completely rewrite the code from the heart of EI. According to the people at Adobe, the updated version of the AE with the new preview is supposed to go out to the 'spring '. So everyone on Yosemite will have to argue politely ask Apple to fix the problem or wait until the update of EI. Frustrating, I know.

  I wonder if someone can recommend a codec quicktime good for very small file sizes, for overview makes.

  project in progress - my wmv renders out approximately 10 MB and of reasonable quality that is excellent.

  some of my clients have flip for mac, so I have to make a quicktime.

  the quicktime h264 out much more than expected. same timeline, pixel dimensions and speed = approximately 150 MB and a similar quality.

  I thought that in the past my QT h264 renders were perhaps double the size of my wmv file renders more leap of 15 x.

  am I missing something really obvious?

  pixel size = 1000 x 250,

  frame rate = 30 images/s,

  Timeline = 4 m 30 s

  H264 quality = 50%

  Audio = aac stereo

  the file size is directly related to the baud rate at which you are encoding, not the size of the image or images per second. So, if you want a 10 sec clip to be 15 MB (excluding noise), divide 15 MB at 10 s and get you 1.5 Mbps bit rate, or 12 Mbps. You can get a better quality if you encode 2-pass VBR with a maximum bitrate set to what you calculated previously.

  In any case, it is usually best to make your comp to a losless format (QT none, or TGA sequence, etc.) and then compress your video with Media Encoder. In this way, you can play with the settings for H.264 until you get an acceptable result, without having to make EI every time.

• After effects CS5 hangs when previewing or made

  I installed after effects CS5 on my mac yesterday evening and it crashes whenever I want to listen to samples or make a sequence. I have CS4 installed on the same machine and the same project works very well. I talked to Adobe support three times and went through the same issues with them (three times) and nothing seems to help.

  I installed the same copy of After effects on my laptop and it works very well - the laptop is running OS 10.6.2 and my main machine is running 10.6.3

  I tried to delete the prefs and Open GL drivers, but they also do nothing to help

  Any ideas would be most appreciated?

  You have a bad Quicktime CoDec / component, a plugin obsolete, a bad police or an extension of the system / assistance program is not compatible with Snow Leopard and bunks in turn upward of AE. • After Effects CS5 - Keylight 1.2 pipette crashes on me!

  Recently, I worked on an independent project and I created some green screen footage and tried to edit it in After Effects.
  After that I added the effect 1.2 Keylight to my images, I went to the Eyedropper to click on it and then it crashes on me and gives me an error and stops completely After Effects!

  I managed to take a screenshot of the error popup so that way you guys can see for yourselves.

  

  I thought that, maybe, it has the. MP4 video.  So, I converted the video to a .avi file and tried to apply the same Keylight effect again.  Once I clicked on the pipette, it gave me the same message again and stops After Effects.  I thought maybe it was only the video files that cause problems?  So, I thought I tried a green screen image, and the error came again.  Maybe it's the project file?  Nope.  I started a new publication and added in the video in the composition, added tried 1.2, Keylight effect by selecting the pipette and once more... it still gives me the error.

  The problem is not video or image.  It's the Keylight 1.2 pipette that is causing the error.  I thought that, maybe, I need to update my laptop?  Updated, still the same problem.  The next thing I did was trying to find a way to solve this problem online.  I noticed that there is an update for Adobe After Effects CS5 update 10.0.02.  So, I updated to After Effects and restarted my laptop.  When I went back in After Effects and still applied the same effect and when I tried selecting the eyedropper... gives me an error... once again.

  I'm sorry if this sounds a little repetitive, but I wanted to be thorough in my explanation that I can try to find a solution to this problem.  I really need this to work again because I'm working on a very important project.  It's weird, the Keylight 1.2 never gave me any problems in the past.  It works perfectly at the time.  So, why he does not correctly now?

  Let me guess, you use Yosemite or newer on your operating system?

  If so, be aware that CS5.5 and earlier are not supported on this OS, so should have weird bugs.

  That being said, go to your preferences and change the use System Color Picker setting and see if that helps.

• After Effects CS5 stuck to the Windows 10 1511 homescreen

  I had been using After Effects CS5 on Windows 10 smoothly for several weeks.  A few days ago I have upgraded to Windows 10 version 1511 (a major update), and now when I launch After Effects, the splash screen is stuck at "Initializing MediaCore."  It never makes it beyond that.  I searched and tried all the troubleshooting methods that I could find.  I have reinstalled QuickTime.  I reinstalled After Effects.  I've updated After Effects.  I have reset and delete the Preferences folder.  I have disabled the firewall.  I rebooted.  I went through the suggested troubleshooting steps.

  Any suggestions or ideas on what could be the problem?  On a perhaps related note, after I updated Windows 10, I had a very strange problem a few times: when I started in Windows, the music started to come out of the speakers.  A little later, I heard static-y voice in speakers.  It was like this by the blue, no Spotify or anything I know.  My laptop picked up somehow radio waves?  Was it a bizarre kind of spyware?  Since then, I scanned with spyware.  Thanks for reading!

  I found the problem after watching Process Monitor from Microsoft.  I had to uninstall Matrox codecs that I had installed quite earlier.  I tried to uninstall/reinstall Quicktime, but failed to remove the Matrox codecs.

• No Audio in after effects CS5.5 (Even after rendering)

  I currently have the Trial Version of After Effects CS5.5 installed. I'm under a bad audio problem. For the first 2 days, that I used it, the sound was fine, he played automatically and I didn't even have to make the first to get it.   Hi, I recently downloaded the trial of After Effects CS5 for Mac OS X (64-bit). I installed everything correctly (I think) and I tried to launch the program, because I was very excited because I've heard great things about this program. I was unhappy to see an error starting pop up that says this, "After Effects WARNING: unknown error invalid BIB encoding, BRV, 0 (83: 3)" I think it would be that I downloaded the 64 bit instead of 32, but I think that I am running on 64-bit (Mac OS X Macbook 13 in Pro) , but I don't know.   There is no 32-bit version of CS5, but it's really not important. OSX applications 64-bit since 10.5.x and 10.6.x is native 64-bit. So no problems on this end. The error you see is a generic drawing mistake which may be due to a misconfiguration of your graphics hardware or problems of rendering of fonts. in the latter case, can help remove unnecessary fonts, graphical config for an update of the system may have a newer driver. Also make sure you have Verdana size police on your system. This has been known to be a problem with OSX 10.6, because it does not install the default font.
